Reviews of Hup Chong Hakka Yong Dou Foo
I can appreciate why the perpetual long queue at this yong tau foo stall.
The variety is huge and the food is fresh. Chilli sauce is slightly spicer, which is great!
Not been here for a long time.
Nobody at 9:45 am and thot yet to open but they were....since 6:30am.
Food was good, at least to me.
Ordered the dry with Extra Chilli and it was Fiery Shiok.
Very good chilli to me and its been awhile since i had such good spices hitting me. Lovely.
Remind them to have less or No sweet sauce so it doesnt overwhelms the taste.
This yong tao fun stall used to sell delicious pork meatballs that is packed with flavours, however recently their standard seems to have drop drastically. The fried meatball no long pack with flavours but kind of just average. Price wise is also more expensive than surrounding similar you tao fun stall.
1st time patronizing them at this location and probably even the 1st visit since their split into the blue & red camp(referring to their signboard).
While the red camp has evolve with much comprehensive Yong Tau Foo selections and also embrace the current norm by refrying the Fried Stuff(the highlight of both these 2 stalls) upon order. This stall stays reminiscent of the way it was before the split and continue its old school way by serving the YTF as it is without the refrying of the FS. Some would prefer this way as they believe the FS are fresher without frying it 2 times but you never know how long the items has been on the shelves. Though the stall prepares the FS batch by batch to maintain its crispiness, I saw that they just stacked the new batch on top of the remaining old batches, so if you happen to pick up one of those last few pieces, they might just have been there a long time, just like what I have in my bowl where quite a portion of them no longer retains the crispiness that it should.
Really good fried stuff! Love their cheese tofu, meatballs and crispy tofu skin. Need to give them your table number if dining in. Price reasonable too and for 60cents a piece, you can get a decent spread.
Tables there are rather clean, the staff there really efficient.
Can choose between yellow noodles and bee hoon(or both). Forgot to ask no garnish. Soup is provided for dry which was ok.
Can choose between sweet or chilli sauce(or both). Think fried stuff goes better with the chilli, or just personal preference.
Went there at 11am.. only 3 pac in front of me.. by 11.22am.. long Q form up.
Friendly staff and wide range. Each item at 70cts.
I ordered 10 at $7.00 without noodle. Good sauce and nice clear soup.
Comfort food for rainy day. 👍🏻
The outstanding would be the crunchy fried goodies and the variety of fresh veggies available. The soup isn’t the best I have tried; simple yellow soy bean soup. I recommend: the fried meatball, yam, fresh beancurd, bean sprout veggies. Sauces are okay.
Ordering:
- say the type of noodles you want. Or without noodles
- say if you want soup added to the food, or separate.
- say if you want chilli, sweet sauce or both.
- say if you want the sauces on top or separate from the food
- give table number if eating in, they will serve and collect money then
Was great once. then they watered down the soup. Always had doubts if the prices was consistent.
however, this place is always popular and parking here is near impossible on the weekends so come early or after the morning crowd.
attached is a 6 piece bowl with noodles, costs $4.20.
The prices are very affordable, there's a wide variety to choose from, and although the line is long, it's definitely worth it. Thumbs up!
The Ngoh hiang is one of the best and cheapest I ever had in sg. Crispy skin and harmonised flavour of filling comprised of minced meat and caramelised onions.. the texture is soft but not mushy. Overall, ingredients are fresh, service is prompt and area feels clean.
Open earlier and basically only store open during morning. Located beside the carpark entrance for easy parking.
Good selection of Hakka Fried Yong Foo with fried yam, something you don’t see everyday. Overall, the noodle is average but ingredients are good. Beware, very spicy chili.
Great authentic YTF prepared in traditional Hakka style using minced pork. Unfortunately again probably due to cost control the amount of pork filled is pathetically small. Still it is worth the try. Other fried items are also great in taste. I won't recommend the bittergourd filled with fish paste because it was clearly hastily boiled and it gave a rawful taste that I found it hard to swallow. Overall it is good value for money. Caution : you need to "chope" a table first before queuing up to order. When they are about to take your selected items to cook, you are required to let them know your table number otherwise they would brush you aside. Their business is good enough to have an attitude. They would deliver the food items to you and the waiting time is rather short.
Firstly, clear soup made from soya beans. Their brinjal was on point, big serving well fried. Handmade meatballs had lots of yam and pork, reminder of mum's cooking. yam rice $1.50 per bowl, but lots of stuff in it, like mushrooms. Definitely value for money, worth a try.
Paid $5.60 for 6 pcs + noodle.
Frankly, I think there is nothing special about this YTF.
The crispy items that I ordered was so hard to bite.
I ordered the dry version, chili is also average......
My favourite niang dou fu stall. I always order the same items whenever I am here for this dish. Been eating at this stall for years when we stayed in TPY.
"Go to" Hakka Yong tau foo store in Toa Payoh. I believe they have another branch up the road. Typical price range is $5 for 5 pieces and mee/beehoon/rice. Just wish they had curry version.
I live in the west but I will always make a trip for this YTF anytime. Even my whole family loves it. Economic and taste good
Really decent Yong Dou foo with good variety, fresh ingredients and taste on the Chili and sweet sauce.
Will recommend if you are in the area but note that the coffee shop is not large so it might involve some waiting for an available seat.
This stall serves a delicious and affordable Yong Tau Foo. I'd recommend the dry version, which comes with a savory and (optionally) spicy sauce.
One of the best hakka yong tau foo on the island with great selection. If you come around lunch time, you might need to share the table with others, but still worth the trip =)
So so la. But it’s good due to the fried food variety that you don’t see at other kinds of YTF stores.
Price a bit steep at 80c/piece.
Delicious Yong tong foo meal, especially some of the ingredients are not easy found in other YTF stall
This stall is located in the coffee shop of block 124. It has a wide variety of Hakka Yong Tau Fu items, and the specialities include the deep fried meat ball and meat roll
A good bowl of Yong Tau Hu in this kopitiam. A typical Hakka Taste.
Good for morning Breakfast. Not so crowded compared during lunch hour. Lots of variety of young towfu to choose from the trays, can either dry or soup with yellow noodles or bee hood.
Each piece of ingredient has its own unique taste that contributes to the overall flavor of the dish. Fresh ingredients enhance the taste. Chili is too spicy and may overwhelm the original flavour and cause discomfort to tummy. Soup is clear but flavourful.
Come before the lunch crowd. Delicious yong tau foo especially the fried minced pork.
Hands-down best Hakka YTF in Singapore.
You only need to look at the lunch time queue to know this place is good! Six items set me back $4.20. Yong Dou Fu taste great, soup is has got flavour. Just the right amount of food. The multi-storey carpark has tight corners, so try to find a lot downstairs.
Something different from the normal Yong Tau Foo. More chewy and with pork meat instead of fish. One piece 60 cents, Order 6 pieces together with mee. Total $4.20. Very filling. The stall lady will bring it to your seat.
Selling at 70cents per item, I consider it quite affordable! Plus the serving size is decent. One of my favourite yong tau fu in Singapore, eating it at least weekly!
One of the best YTF in Singapore. Almost everything is perfect, especially the deep fried items. Many variety of items to choose from. A must try! Just be mindful not to over order since there are so many options. :)
Delicious Yong Tau Foo store! Price not too bad as well! I really love the sweet sauce that goes with it! Ingredients were fried nicely as well!
Decent YTF ingredients with them serving you in a coffeeshop is a rare find.
Value for money 3/5
Nothing much to shout about though.
Best Yong tau foo in Toa Payoh. Love the fried wanton, meat ball and ngoh hiang. Frequently have this for breakfast and staff on the morning shift are friendly and polite.
Expect to queue up to 45 mins during lunch hours, but I would because I simply love it. Opens 6.30am-3.30pm, break from 3.30-4.30pm, then opens again 4.30-8pm.
Food is tasty although price has gone up since I patronized few years ago. People working at the stall are patient. Good service! Keep it up!
Damn i wished i could give more stars. Food is consistently good esp the meatball and ngo hiam👍price-wise reasonable. I frequent this place cos its so darn good
One of the rare authentic Yong Dou Foo Singapore. Worth visiting and give it try.
Good food. Get the meatballs
My stop to go whenever I am craving for YTF.
The ingredients are fresh and doesn't taste salty at all.
Service is pretty fast.
Coffee shop uncle selling drinks ultimate bad attitude
Previous visit overcharged us, but returned us the excess after we clarified the prices
Today was just grumpy maximus
I don’t need you to chat with me but I really don’t owe u anything
I’m just a customer trying to get some teh and eggs while waiting for YTF
YTF amazing but drinks uncle make the whole eating experience sucks
Above average food. Nothing special about it, maybe the fried stuffs such as fried meat ball. Service: A bit attitude and messy during the peak hours. Price: reasonable.
Food was Fresh.
Soup could have more yellow beans flavour...
Overall was a good Experience...
Keep it up...
Here for the food.
Nothing much for atmosphere.
Service was good, didn't expect the food to be served so fast given the pile of orders before ours 😆
Very nice and authentic yong tau foo.. Not too expensive.. Lots of choices especially their fried meat balls and ngo hiang.. 🙌🙌👍👍👍
ingredients are super fresh and chilli is good and spicy -- would definitely recommend
Still the best hand made YTF
Pretty good yong tau foo but a little more expensive ($0.60 per piece) than the usual. If you want to avoid the crowd, come after 2pm.
All prices has risen. YTF is nice. Soup is tasty. Worth a try
Nice and tasty Yong tau foo
They are one of the best YDF in Singapore which could bring back all the childhood memories that what my grand mom cook for us...
Good fresh homemade food
I love it here, the yong tau foo is good, I love it and wanton was amazing!
Love the fried wanton (super tasty) and fish ball (super fresh and q) that they've got there.
Most delicious yong tao fu with the taste of childhood. Of course, pay a little bit more but worth it
Soup is good too. A regular here! Recommended!
Good quality yong tau foo. A nice choice of ingredient to choose from
Great hakka yong dou fu. My favorite place for Yong Dou Fu.
Business is always good.
Order and they will deliver the food to you. A little long queue.
Very normal Hakka niang dou fu. Over hyped. Still eatable
taste very nice. not expensive too
Transitional hakka food... loves their chilli.
Tasty! Beware how hot the chili sauce can be though!
Chilli is good
Good Food at economy prices
The fish soup is what I came for
Best YTF ever!!

Ok lah.. Convenience
