I extremely loved the teaching style and learning experience at Irwin’s Study! Mr See conducts his lessons with relevance to the real world context, and his lessons are very engaging and humorous that it had made me learn more general knowledge beyond the GP scope. Regardless of online or physical face to face lessons, his lessons are very effective and it will motivate you to learn a thing or two after every lesson! Moreover, Mr See crafts his notes in a way such that they are comprehensive and easy to understand, making studying for GP much more effective and less effort needed!

Mr Irwin is a super friendly tutor who ignited the interest of studying GP in me! He arranges his lessons meticulously such that all aspects of the GP syllabus is covered, from Arts and Culture all the way to Science and Tech. Under his tutelage, I managed to improve from E in Promos to B in Prelims. Mr Irwin always make himself available after class and patiently clarifies the concepts that are taught during the lessons or assignments from school. Without Mr Irwin, I would have dreaded studying GP in JC. I am grateful for the time and dedication he puts into his students. Thanks Mr Irwin!

Mr Irwin is a kind and patient teacher who is very passionate about GP. Because of his passion for the subject, he is able to easily engage his students and make them fall in love with the subject. Mr Irwin takes the time to go through current global issues in detail and makes us understand a little more about the world we live in. I'm super thankful for all the guidance and help Mr Irwin has given me :) Mr Irwin is an approachable, caring, dedicated and patient teacher. I really enjoyed his lessons as they were very well-structured, relevant and engaging! although i only started attending classes a few months leading up to A levels, i learnt so many useful skills and techniques in such a short span of time and they were super useful in the final push towards A levels (especially the very concised intensive lessons, i benefitted a lot)! It used to be such a bore to learn GP but after joining this tuition, Mr Irwin has changed my perspective towards it. Mr Irwin’s lessons make studying GP a lot more enjoyable and relatable to real life :) I like how our compre passages and essays are made relevant to our daily lives, which makes the subject much less tiring to study. I also appreciate how the news articles are incorporated into our lessons because I personally don’t make it a habit to read the news, and these articles help to keep me up to date with the current situation (especially in Singapore). One of the things that I like the most is also that we take the time to go through the compre passages together as a class and break down the author’s intention in his writing as well as practise paraphrasing! Studying GP with Mr Irwin has been an enjoyable journey :) despite only joining at the end of J1, my GP has improved a lot (especially P2 which I’ve always been bad at!)

For me, as a science student, I really didn't enjoy arts, because it was so unstructured, my teacher in school didn't give me clear directions as well, so I was lost most of the time in GP lessons. But coming into Irwin's Study on day 1, I felt that it provided me with the structure that I needed to answer the Essay and AQ component, and also those language questions in comprehension. So it gave me more confidence going into GP examinations! The suggested answers that they give help me to see structure applied into answer, and the questions always gave me sufficient practice and room for me to re-reflect during revision! Lastly, I love the scope of lessons, helps to broaden my perspective through the multiple newspaper articles and things that Mr Irwin says, so that I have a more holistic view on worldly issues!

Being entirely honest, I was petrified of the subject when I first joined Mr Irwins classes. I felt lost because it seemed that no matter how much effort I put into GP, my results would not reflect it. Mr see is a very warm teacher who does not hesitate to clarify doubts during and outside lessons. His lessons are structured very well such that he alternates between paper 1 and 2. There is a good balance between paper 1 and 2. His model essays were imperative in my GP journey as they were a source of content and language. His essays showed me that GP is not about merely using fancy language but more importantly it is simple and effective communication. He constantly made us do paper 2 practices which I found to be very useful as it gradually developed my comprehension skills. Mr See’s GP resources have been so useful in helping me improve in the subject, especially the compre practices that have helped me better approach SAQ questions as well as the countless amount of articles that were provided to help us gain more knowledge in a particular topic. Furthermore, his lessons were always engaging as he exposed us to various GP topics and for me, online lessons were beneficial as I could stay back in the call to ask him any questions I couldn’t ask during the lesson. Indeed, I have improved, especially for essay writing component under his guidance and teaching. Mr See’s positivity and dedication have definitely played a part in my resilience to do better in the subject!! It was really helpful. Helped me learn about the question types for paper 2 and how to properly tackle these questions. For paper 1 it really helped when mr Irwin taught us how to prepare content and how to properly analyse questions, further more the model essays were really helpful as well.

I would think that in Irwin's Study, learning of knowledge of International Relations and News would be easier especially for those who doesn't read news that often since materials of such news are often provided. Other than that, by calling out us in class to answer some questions, it would actually provoke us to think and stay attentive in class! Overall, I think it was quite a good experience!!

Joining Mr Irwin for GP was one of the best decisions during my time in JC. He helped me greatly in understanding the demands of the subject, making the process of learning GP a lot more enjoyable and fulfilling. On top of that, he equipped me with the skills to analyse current affairs from multiple dimensions, which has enabled me to understand and view the world from a different kaleidoscope. As a tutor, he goes above and beyond what is expected of him in the classroom, taking the extra step to connect and understand us students on a deeper level. This was extremely heartwarming given how arduous JC is.
