Reviews of Ji Li
Ordered the prawn and pork ribs noodle today. Real value for money for $4 when you need a meal to fill your tummy.
However if you’re looking for something to tickle your, you should look somewhere else. While there is a slight herbal taste, I would describe the soup as flat, the pork ribs soggy and prawns meh.
After a long hiatus, I returned to Ji Li, a beloved spot known for its lor mee, prawn noodles, and pork rib noodles. I used to frequent this place regularly before COVID-19, so I was excited to revisit and see if it still held the same charm.
The Dish: Dry Prawn Noodles
I decided to indulge in the dry prawn noodles, which have always been my favourite. The generous amount of sauce was as plentiful as I remembered, but I couldn't help but notice a shift in flavor. While the dish still had its signature appeal, it seemed to lack the depth of taste that once made it exceptional. This change might be attributed to a possible shift in ownership or kitchen staff.
Value for Money
Despite the slight dip in flavor, the value remains impressive. The portions are substantial, with prices at just $3 for a regular bowl and $4 for a large. It’s hard to beat that kind of value, especially for a satisfying meal.
The husband and wife team serves excellent lor mee! 👏 It has 3 cubes of pork. More herbal tasting. All the bean sprouts has their ends removed too.
Queue was moving slowly during lunch time, and you can notice a few people bought their own container for takeaway.
I saw one person ordering pork rib noodle, portion is generous with the rib. They do have Lor Mee, Prawn Mee & Pork Rib Noodle, all at $3. Nowadays it's hard to get a proper meal at this low price.
Lor Mee is a decent one to fill up one's stomach, however the gravy was not that flavourful for my preference.
Good and affordable pork ribs noodle, prawn noodle and lor mee. They have kept things affordable. For $3, one can get a reasonable meal that is of good quality. Only downside is the que, but that is understandable given the low price.
$3 lormee is value for money. fish chunks, some braised meat bits, fish cake and half an egg. I think sauce is light. but for $3, ok lah
My favorite prawn noodle stall in Singapore. Reasonable price and loved the way the owner mix the sauce. The prawn broth has deep flavor and it is very satisfying to slip. Always come back for more.
Good lor mee ! Only opens @ 8am
