Reviews of Joo Heng Noodle
Heard so much that this wanton noodle stall food is good. Ther was already long Q when I reached. Took about 10mins before my turn. Husband and wife team cooking.
Had kway teow wanton with additional chicken feet. Char siew was so so, chicken feet was well braised, not to salty just nice. Sauce for kway teow was just nice. Worried if it is too salty. Soup was hot and tasted good with the few scallion added. Overall, can still revisit again.
Ordered the Wanton Noodle ($4.2), Chicken Feet Noodle ($4.2) and added 2 Dumplings ($2). Chicken Feet was one of the best I have tasted and sauce was magical. Wantons & Dumplings were above average -- filled with ingredients that tasted well together. The wanton noodle was the old-school kind and to me, was average. Think their bestseller is the pork ribs noodle as many loyal customers were asking the lady owner if they still had it in my 15 minutes+ of queueing. Overall, will come back again when in the area.
Chance upon this noodle stall at Lor 1 Toa Payoh.
Definitely deserves to be given recognition for the dumpling noodles ( 水饺面 ) I have. I have a special crave for good dumplings. Not to give that the credit they deserves is doing them and all food lovers a disservice.
One thing worth mentioning for those first time patronizing this stall, the noodles are ordered from the side of the stall.
Looking from the front, it looked like a stall that is awaiting to open its business operations.
Definitely one of the need to go to stall if one yearns to eat good dumplings ( 水饺 ).
MUST NOT GIVE THIS STALL A MISS !!!
If you are a fan of pork rib noodle and dumplings then you shld give this stall a try. This is by far my fav noodle stall if I craving for pork rib and the dumplings. There might comparable pork rib noodle in Sg but their dumplings by far the best that I come across. It typ has a Q but move fast and the aunty taking order is friendly too.
Good noodle stall with big and wholesome dumplings . I ordered chicken feet noodle .
Good value !
First time trying from this stall. Went before peak hour lunch time to avoid long queue. Ordered the $4.50 version of the wanton mee. Noodles were nice and springy, chili spicy and flavourful enough to go along with the char siew which was very good. Soup was tasty and refreshing and wanton plump and nice. Will definitely come back to try other items on their menu.
I always loved to visit this stall when i was around TPY area.
Truthfully, it did not have the best wanton noodle around, i would still join the queue, here's why:
The stall assistant, whom i assumed was the wife, was ever patient and reliable, never frowned at complicated orders. She even gave an extra thought to limping seniors. Unpretentiously warm and friendly.
The char siew was home roasted and had nothing to shout about. A bit tough though.
The noodle was cooked to the right texture, tasted neutral to give way to their sauce and chilli.
The wantons were plump with filling, had an extra crunch with generous sesame seeds inside.
I would be back again.
Took awhile to queue for this plate of wanton noodles at this 127 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh hawker centre. Located at level 2. It was simple but it’s traditionally tasty. The texture of the noodles is thin and the roasted taste of the char siew. Dumplings in the soup is generous. Very cheap @ S$3 and they accept cash only.
Chicken feet noodle for a Sunday lunch at Toa Payoh. Feet are made tasty. Noodle was thoroughly boiled.
Delicious !
Just be patient to join in the queue to get a bowl of the noodle on Sunday morning.
Shui jiao are super delicious and filled with prawn and pork
Old skool wanton mee.
NOTHING BEATS THIS. NOBODY! It’s the ultimate treat every single week for me.
