Reviews of Kim Kee (Coffee shop) Tanjong Rhu Wanton Mee
Very tasty wanton mee (dry) - dine in comes with complementary soup. 4 Sing dollars for small, 5 for large. I was there before it opened at 7am and was 1st in line but still had to wait for about 10 minutes for all the early morning to-go orders to be packed up. Pork was tender and tasty, noodles springy and the chili sauce was flavorful with just enough kick. Soup broth was very savory with 3 tender wantons. One of the healthier options in the center (I think?) and there was quite a long line when I left but worth it for a cheap, filling, tasty meal
Old school sweet char siew wanton (dumpling) mee comes with very flavourful soup (complimentary soup for dine in only).
Noodles abit soggy to my liking as I prefer my noodles to be "Q" and al dente. Chilli sauce is sweet and not spicy.
Do expect long queues. Opening hours from 7am to 1pm daily, except Closed on Wednesday and Sunday.
Love their wanton soup. Will always order an additional portion to share. Wanton mee is QQ and nice in both their spicy (chilli) and non spicy (ketchup) options. Cha siu is okok. Vegetables are well cooked and still slightly crunchy yum.
The wanton mee is nice lah, but wah, they close very early. And the queue is always so long during lunchtime. Not sure if it’s worth waiting 45mins for this. But nice la recommend. 😋
Good wanton noodles. Rich history of this stall and how they had started. Long Q in the morning and be prepared to wait for 20-30 mins.
Ordered $3 without ketchup. Springy noodles. Sauce is spicy. Dumpling is normal. Chat siew a bit too dry. Soup is more sweet for me. Not my preference WTM for sure.
Unique, special, tasty.
Seasoned lard shrimp chilli.
one of a kind cannot find
Owner generous portions:
chilli, char siew or noodle portions.
Beehoon thin tasty noodles,
plain CS thicken pepper ikan bilis soup,
shrimp onion lard full chilli
like it or hate it ;p fatty wontons
rare heapful Xiao Bai veggies
Heapful of prep work before
stall starts: dried prawns for chilli, yes fresh prawn for wantan
thick broth for soup stock
lots of TLC effort so that beads of sweat omph when u take that spicy bowl
No creative edit can do justice to their sacrifice
Relaxed friendly service
a joy to savour & experience
masterpiece plate after plate
thank you uncle & assistant
giving us gastronomy delight
The original Tanjong Rhu wanton, dont be fooled by the rest. The chilli, the soup and the wantan are the best! It is the corner stall in the middle row. My go-to whenever im in the area.
Nice sauce but can be quite overwhelming like my case I find that they added too much. The soup and wantons are superb though. The queue is long even for a Monday early morning. It’s actually also because they are quite slow. Overall ok.
I haven't had too many wanton mee admittedly but this to me is the best I had by far for its springy noodles, punchy chilli sauce and tasty wanton.
The noodles is very good. QQ and the fried pork lard taste seems to coat the noodles.
Yum!
Ordered a small wantan mee with add on ingredients, so more wantan in the lil sweet soup and seems more char siew in the noodles. Their chilli is quite spicy imo. Char siew is on the salty side than sweet. Overall, is a good bowl of wantan mee. Generous in vegetables too.
A very good plate of Wtm! One of the best in sgp! The Chili with ikan bilis is..omg!!
Noodles cooked just right, not too soft or hard. He takes time to cook the noodles enough. For someone like me who does not take chili, the ketchup, sauce and lard is just right.
Wanton is well cooked with the skin a little translucent.
The char siew is tender.
My favorite wanton noodle in Singapore.
this is definitely my top wanton mee choice! Noodles had gd springy texture, chilli sauce is superb, wanton is yummy and even their soup has flavour! Really gooddd
BEST Wanton Mee in Kallang, Singapore & many say in Batam too. For 13 years, I’ve never failed supporting this stall since they were nestled in the front stupid woman Chin Sin Huan Coffee Shop. I love the boing boing springy noodle. The Char Siu, Chye Sim & Wanton are always cooked to perfection ... also the soup too. Thanks to Aunty who took order & served, the Filipino lady who is always friendly & helpful & to Ah Pui’s wifee who is a very nice boss. I highly recommend to everyone to dine here. Die die must try.
The other favorite of mine is inside Telok Blangah Hawker Center served by a very elderly couple. Nothing beats this two stalls.
Always crowded but I eat it cos my friend like it. So so. There are so many famous wanton Mee in this area so this stall is only good cos the hawker is not crowded and easy to park
delicious wanton noodle, still good even after many hours later.
Kim Kee defines how a wonton noodles should taste like.
Weekend super long queue!! Half an hour queue for a bowl of wanton mee? There are better ones
Love the wanton mee. I will go for only this if I have a choice. But you need to que for a long while during busy hour.
Good, but not good enough for me to wait for the queue
Must try their soup with the wanton noodles, which was nicely made.
Springy and crunchy traditional wanton mee!
Not as good as before but still worth a try still.
Very nice. A weekly must have
Best wanton mee ever
Tasty and good value
Always full of crowds
Tasty and affordable
Traditional type
It's a popular restaurant in this area, so if you go after 12:00, there's always a line. Traditional thin curly noodles that are easy to digest. A steady hit. The difference between the small and large sizes is the amount of noodles. I tried the large size, but considering the balance with other ingredients, I think the small size might be the golden ratio. It seems that soup does not come with takeout. Last time, I came after recovering from an illness and the line was slow to move, and when it was my turn with only a few people left, I felt extremely dizzy and fell out of the line. When I got back to work, it was a closed day (Wednesday). I was finally able to complete the mission this time. Congratulations. 😅
Delicious noodles, delicious soup, and delicious wontons.
