Reviews of Labrador Nature Reserve
7/12/2024
Visited this park in the evening. Well maintained with free parking for cars.
Also known as Labrador Nature Reserve since being gazetted as a nature reserve, Labrador Park is an excellent place for a seaside stroll along a wide well built path all the way to Labrador Jetty where there is a great view of the ships at the Pasir Panjang Container Terminal (tip - go before noon when the sun is in the right spot). Plus, there is the added attraction of the forested Labrador Battery area with the historical gun emplacements - with a recovered 6-inch naval gun in one of the emplacements - built by the British. Usually not crowded and there is free parking.
On the other side of the park where the viewpoint is quiet and nice.
This is a super underrated place in Singapore. It has history, forestry outdoors, a nice beach area and playground. The best part was the history, you could literally walk up to the battery positions of the defending British forces and feel history come to life.
It's slightly inaccessible but that adds to its charm! Drive here if possible, there are plenty of parking space!
Come on an afternoon and chill out with your children and loved ones! Have a picnic too!
Compared to the East Coast and West Coast Parks, Labrador Park is smaller and has fewer amenities. Add to the fact that it's not as accessible as the aforementioned parks, and the result is a quiet place to visit. Even on a Saturday, I could feel a sense of tranquility that was obliterated by screaming kids and throngs of people in the other parks.
I really enjoyed the walk to the jetty, stopping there to enjoy the sea breeze and watching the anglers fishing.
The park actually leads to the Marina Club, by way of a nice promenade of several condos along the way. This is a recommended walk for those who want some peace and quiet.
Visited on a Saturday morning. Beautiful boardwalks and easy trails with lush greenery and picturesque rocky sea. The park has artillery pieces and machine gun posts that date back to World War II. You can have a good view of Reflections by Keppell Bay and Sentosa Cable car.
Lovely place with manicured boardwalks facing pretty blue waters. There's a replica of the Dragon Tooth Gate rock which got destroyed during Singapore's development and a few remnants of bunkers and outposts.
I checked out the mangrove boardwalk n the upper deck viewing point by the entrance just beside Labrador mrt station...its very easy access n at 7.30am there were a dozen walkers accompanied by feisty mozzies. Don't forget yr mozzy spray n patch. There's a waterfront section too and the HortPark n Southern Ridges are no nearby.
Great stretch of nature park.
Love this place.
Peaceful.
I never wanted to visit here assuming it was a small park. So glad to be proven wrong. There are 2 routes to take with one to jetty and the other longer route to reflections. If you prefer there is a hilly route to see the war relics. Small car parks but good that they have a few that scattered around. Good to go early. A lot of bbq pit for booking. Clean and airy environment.
Beautiful park by the sea, where there is great scenery and breeze. Evening runs here are great as there is always a nice sunset view to catch 😍
Located just off Alexandra Road, this gem is about 10 mins walk from Labrador MRT station.
You will have to walk through Belayar Walk, which is a nature path beside the small mangrove area just before the open water. Belayar walk is a spot to visit and walk through by itself.
Labrador Park is a seaside park that offer great views of the southern seafront and on clear days, you can see all the way to Batam and the Riau islands.
For drivers, there are two small car parks near the park. Just enter through Labrador Villa Road and drive all the way down.
There is a small playground for kids and the main attraction will be the red Belayar Beacon and the model Dragon's Teeth Gate. Oh and a breathtaking view of Reflections at Keppel Bay.
Hot during days. Best time to visit will be early morning and later in the evenings.
Nice scenic place that is connected from Vivo all the way to labrador park. Both the sunset and night view are nice, place is breezy as it's just right beside the sea. A good jogging and exercise place. There are some historical art and statues here as well.
📍TIPS: Alight at Labrador Park MRT Circle Line - Walk a short distance and go in by Carpark A. There is a long stretch where you can see the Guns Placement area. You will end at carpark C where it near the sea, dragon Tooth area and Toilet.
🍭Definitely a Great Place to be near Nature. The restaurant and place of interest is no longer there.
Those buildings are still around and deserted.
🍭I just feel that Nparks or NHB do better in maintaining this area with such rich Historical value. Similar to Katong Park, I feel location of Historical sites are not well maintained, flooded with water, leaves and maybe mosquitoes too. No photos for those. Too unsightly.
What a lovely facility this is. Enjoyed a walk round to the marina to have brunch at Prive. Plenty to see - wildlife, nature and architecture. A ver handsome peacock greeted us in the car park. Paths are well laid put and easy to navigate with a push chair.
One of my family's go to parks because it is beside the sea, has great shady trees and amenities. Also because it isn't too far away from where we stay.
There is a small children's playground here, winding paths to take walks of for children to scoot. Seats by the waters. BBQ pits. Or you can just sit and watch as anglers throw their lines out in hope.
The car park can be rather congested at busy periods. We have been here and found no parking before. There are other parking areas just a short walk out which you would pass by as you drive in. So parking is generally ok unless you come at peak periods. There is a public toilet in the park as well.
Beautiful park for nature lovers. Perfect for jogging, cycling, picnics, BBQs, fishing, birdwatching, or other outdoor activities.
There is a natural stream leading to the sea where you can observe mangroves along the way. This is possible if you enter or exit from the broadwalk between the Labrador Park MRT and the nature reserve.
The other entrance would be the road to the park. The view is not great there but I once saw a python when running there at night. I would not recommend visiting at night or when it's dark because the lights are not always on and you will have to walk or jog long stretches in total darkness.
The best time to visit would be in the early hours if you are interested to see wildlife. I have encountered many wildlife there including otters, Asian water monitors, kingfishers, seagulls, mudskippers, hornbills and chickens. You would sometimes see peacocks, but I believe they are owned by the restaurant owner there.
There are also some war relics such as a bunker. During world war two, the British set up defenses thinking that the Japanese would attack from the south.
At the seaside, you can see the PSA port and some distant islands with refineries. There is also a jetty where you are allowed to fish. Note that fishing is not allowed at some areas to preserve the biodiversity.
There is also a bridge leading towards some seaside residences near keppel bay. If you walk there, you can see yatches parked on the waters. However, the bridge is currently closed for maintenance.
Did a walk from Labrador park to vivocity. We first explored the historical sites within the park, and then headed to Keppel, went thru the boardwalk. Admired the views along the way and saw some sizable sea urchins too! Very enjoyable and relaxing.
Small but lovely place for a quick stroll. It's nice to be one with nature.
It's also very close to eating places in Keppel, Tamarind Hills, Three Peacock- lots of good food around.
A nice and quiet park, very breezy along the coastline. Nice for jogging and cycling or dating. But to come here require some effort. Unless you have own transport.
Love how they manage to build a green corridor near the residential area and keep the wildlife there. The sunset view from the beach was incredible!
It’s a nice place to visit especially for people who love wetland, birds and flying Fish. We went in super hot day but the trees gave us very good shade, kept the entire walk chilling.
This is a place to exercise. The air is very refreshing. I like the surrounding too. We can see some wild plants.
Very relaxing place to walk and jog... and also got places under the trees to have a picnic (just clean as you go). Nice place for bbq and some outdoor games. Toilets are clean and got vending machines if you ever ran out of drinks.
A lovely place for a walk alone or with family, friends or furry companion! There are wobderful views of the sea and gorgeous nearby architecture too. Accessible through the Circle Line, there is a bit of a walk after u alight from Labrador MRT. After your time in the park you can have a meal at the nearby Alexandra Retail Center where there are many F&B outlets.
Good weather for a morning walk. Enjoyed the sea view very much!
One of the calm and peaceful place to visit in singapore.
Spacious paths and board ways for hiking and cycling. Enjoy boardwalks, sea view and great opportunity for encounters with nature and experiencing historical moments.
Very greenery and peaceful place for all kind of ages. Easily accessible by the train. Good family outing as well as gathering for friends. Nature walk along the hill was amazing and learn the history during WW2. Free Parking and ample space to park is the best.
Very nice park with sea view. Good for family with young kids ,there is 2 playgrounds in the park.
Nice place to visit, exercise, cycle and scooter around. A lot of place to take photos too. Can walk all the way to Keppel Reflection By the Bay.
A great place to relax and venture.
Labrador park was the place where the British's big guns were place for the defence of fortress Singapore with corresponding guns on the beaches of fort Siloso on Sentosa island (formerly named as Palau Bakang Mati).
It is a long story but the invading Japanese avoid this area and chose to surprised the British by landing on north western Singapore instead.
Now, the beach and reclaimed land serves as a place for picnic, people exercising and nature walk or run. There are BBQ pits which are now disused as and overgrown by plants.
A bit hot during late morning run 🏃♂️🏃♂️ but luckily many trees 🏕, walkways still good condition, good seaview looking from the jetty, drinking water dispenser and toilet available here. Personally it looking cozy run if coming on evening during the sunset 🌅
Tranquil and scenic place for walking or jogging. Not crowded.
I found this place in Sentosa. After arriving vivo mall, I try to walk there. The sea side and jungle trail is awesome, just walk in a green tunnel.
V nice but a lot of flies. Like omg so many flies I cannot even eat a single scope without fighting a fly off my rice
But it's free and nature so it's nice
Relatively hidden from public road. BBQ pits, calisthenic bars (1x long dip-bar, 2x horizontal pull-up bars, 2x Australian pull-up bars, 1x monkey bar), jogging track. Beware of sandflies! Was a victim especially around May-June.
Good lovely place for a walk.. no disturbances.. lovely seaside view combined with little of forest place
Easy walk. Suitable for children too. There were many wild chickens too. Take note that if u drive, u would need to walk back same distance. Or walk on the road to make a loop.
Check out the World War 2 bunker and cannon pointing to the sea. Look for Carpark B. Labrador Park Mrt. Nice walk. If you want a longer walk, Mt Faber or Vivocity is nearby. Walk to Keppel Bay.
Good place for a walk or jog all the way through Bukit Chermin.
Plenty of good fishing spots especially at the unused Berlayar jetty. There are few barbeque pits at the park, but no pits at the jetty. Although no camping is allowed, its open 24/7. So finding shelter at night might be an issue if its crowded. Public toilets are available.
The terrain is like trekking jungle areas. Near the end of the walk we reached a quarry and a lake next to it. After this we makan at food village at the old railway station.
Very peaceful park in the city. Love to come and relax here. Great wildlife....roosters and monkeys. Nice seabreeze here and lots of shade.
Nice place to chill. Great view of the ships but there were still remaining smell of oil due to the recent spill.
Very close to heart, my favourite park for relaxing sea breeze, jogging, losrening to birds in the morning, walk up the cliff is a good experience
Beautiful park with nice scenic jogging route all the way to keppel.island and back around 5km.
Wonderful scenic place to run around
Wonderful arrangement and maintenance by SG Govt
Appreciate the utilities and services
Very pleasant easy boardwalk for the young; seniors and with mobility disabilities. Refreshing sight, being able to smell the sea and fresh air.
Nice place for day hiking
Nice especially during sunset
A beautiful place for exercise and relaxation. Out of city feel
Nice sea facing park for fitness activities or for photography
Sun sea sky.. lovely breeze, lots of vegataton and wildlife.. sounds of various birds in the background. A little piece of heaven..
My go to eging spots since 2018 cos of the ample carpark space and amenities.
Great place especially for those interested in history. Lovely walking & views.
Best park for refreshing and rejuvenating self. Serene !!!
Good place to go for a walk or picnic or even pre booked BBQ pits to enjoy with family. There are designated areas at the jetty walk way into the sea for fishing. Spoke to few enthusiasts into fishing about their experiences and they showed me what they caught. Beautiful place to go for long walk connecting the board walk area to Keppel by the bay behind area. You can connect to harbour front through the walking trail.
Wonderful walkway .. connects you to nature effortlessly.
Also in 5 minutes you can change the view to the majestic marina ..
The park is now connected to keppel bay and nearly to Harbourfront. Makes for a vry nice stroll especially in the evenings
Nice place with good view
Big open spaces and fresh sea breezes will play with your hair when you come here for evening strolls. Quiet and scenic with lots of benches to sit and contemplate the sea. Labrador Park is one of our favorites.
Usually we go to the jetty to watch weekend fishermen enjoying their hobby but this time round the metal gates were locked. Jetty under renovation. When we walked to the other end of the park towards The Reflections at Keppel, the broadwalk was also blocked. Disappointed with the short walk but the breezes were still refreshing.
Hope new attractions will open up soon.
Nice place to bring the family! Some facilities for kids and not too crowded
Long walk to the beach if you are not driving. Used to be serene but the invasion of the container ships nearby is spoiling the view. Can be quite noisy because of the port.
Nice to wander around and understand some history of maritime.
Great park and less crowd
Nice wide spaces
Howitzer mounts
and
tiny brilliance
.
It has been around 2 years since I visited this place for an evening stroll. I went back in 2022 and everything looked the same, the horizon looked the same with so many docked vessels and the sun was setting spectacularly as usual! What a peaceful place, indeed, for an evening picknic with the family or a jog in the morning!
The place and surrounding are ideal for peoples or person requiring some peace and quiet. The areas is so scenic, peaceful, coupled with the sound of sea waves beating against the barrier wall making its suitable for person seeking escape from a busy life.
Went food dinner at peacock $55++ per person. Seafood, Sushi, cooked Asian food, roasted duck, etc. Hygiene need to be improved. Seafood not really that fresh. 🤔. This is my humble opinion 😌
Beautiful beach and not too crowded but need to walk about half an hour, two direction to reach there when come out from the MRT, either taking the lift and turn right to the shaped trees or the eslator on turn left and headed the road path to reach the beach or to 3 Peacock restaurant.
A great nature park by the sea. Lots of jungle fowls and well connected to Keppel area. If you are lucky you get to see the resident eagle
Great place for a run and sunset.
We have our Pasir Panjang Fort here, and it is one of the numerous forts of Singapore which were built prior to the Second World War to protect Singapore against the Japanese.
A great number of structures - Gun Shelter, Fire Trench, and Searchlight ruins had been discovered by some explorers.
There is a Water Tank nearby to the car park of the Tamarind Hill restaurant. And within the small forest, you can also search for the Gun Shelters, and there are two of them found nearby there.
Have fun walking amongst the Guns (Cannon) , and see this historic fort of Singapore!
I camping there and a lot of people say very haunted
Parking is free. Nice view.
Very crowded on weekends. Mot conducive for jogging as some paths are narrow and full of people. Carparks always full.
Wonderful place to hangout
Not a bad place to visit when u got nothing to do. But good place to visit when you are busy.
A beautiful nature park. The views facing sea is addictive. Don't miss of you are a lover of nature.
Most Scenic Fitness Walking Route !
This park is the southernmost point of Singapore's main island. It faces Sentosa's Hisoka Fortress across the sea and forms an angle with each other. It is very pleasant to ride and run along the seaside. There is a section of the sea plank road that is really fun to walk on.
A bridge connects you to the sea and you can trek through the forest. You can see wild monkeys, lizards, squirrels, chickens, birds, etc. in the park and forest. A place like an oasis in the city. It's great for running and walking.
When I go in the evening, it's windy and cool.
Facing the sea, you can feel at ease.
A nature reserve for locals rather than tourists.
A place with many trees, BBQ grills, scenic walks, and camping with friends or family.
This is also a good place for a family trip... The only drawback... There are no restaurants in the morning. The parking area is also too small. It is estimated that there are 30 to 40 parking spaces at most. It is not enough to cope with a Saturday drive. Visitors coming...
Very nice complex between mainland Singapore and Sentosa Peninsula, separated by the sea. Very quiet, invites you to linger and relax. Very beautiful nature fauna and flora and interesting past. Highly recommended 🇸🇬🐒
