Reviews of Merlion Park
Travelling from Changi Airport to here through SMRT is worth it as you can see everything around you feels like a dream come true when it's your first time. Place is very clean, very aesthetic, but depending on time there will be lots of tourists taking pictures here as well since it is one of the main tourist attraction here in singapore, though people are nice as you can ask others to take pictures of you. Overall 10/10 Experience, would come back again.
If you visit Singapore, you must see this place.
If you don't want to be in a crowded, arrive early. We arrived here at 11 in the morning, and it's already crowded!
Marina Bay and Merlion is next to each other but its a long walk!😅
A lot of restaurant and market around the place.
Awesome views!
We went early in the morning, around 6:15am and it was beautiful!
Plus, there were just a few tourists around and some joggers but otherwise, it’s empty.
At around quarter to seven, people start flocking in.
They turn the Merlion Sculptures fountain on at around 7am.
Awesome place to visit in Singapore. No one can complete their Singapore tour without visiting Merlion. You can spend a lot of time watching Merlion and nearby high rise building. In the night, the view of Merlion and nearby places are on the extreme level.
Nice place to spend some quality time with family and friends, Having a great sightseeing options, With lots of historical significance.
One of the most iconic places in Singapore. It is a thing of beauty. There is a reason why so many people come to visit this place.
It was quite challenging to get photos of Merlion since there were so packed with tourists. The place was in walking distance from the nearest bus stop. We can also see the famous Marina Bay Mall building from Merlion Park. As sun went down, we couldn't take pics on the Merlion but the Marina Bay Mall instead.
It is my 1st day at Singapore and I am already loving it. Highraise building, water, lights around, it was just amazing. I must get job here.
Lovely place. Beautiful surroundings. Marina bay views are like filmcity or dreamland. Free entry. Must visit and enjoy lot.
It does get a little crowded in the day, a good spot to take photos would be from across the bridge in the evenings/nights
Lovely place. All tourists must visit this place at Fullerton park.
Scenic beauty and excellent view of Marina Sand...
**Merlion: The Quintessential Singapore Experience**
The Merlion is undoubtedly one of the best attractions in Singapore and a true symbol of the city. While I’m not entirely sure about the history behind this iconic figure, there’s no denying its significance as a representation of Singapore’s identity.
The location of the Merlion is absolutely perfect, almost otherworldly. Positioned right at Merlion Park, it offers a stunning view of Marina Bay Sands across the water. The combination of the statue with the modern skyline is simply breathtaking and makes for one of the most picturesque spots in the city.
If you’re looking for the best place to click photos in Singapore, this is it. The Merlion, with the Marina Bay Sands in the background, creates an ideal setting for capturing some amazing shots. Whether you visit during the day or at night, the view is always spectacular, and you’ll come away with photos that truly capture the essence of Singapore.
In summary, the Merlion is more than just a statue; it’s a must-visit attraction that perfectly embodies the spirit of Singapore. If you’re in the city, make sure to stop by and experience the magic of this iconic landmark.
The most iconic place in Singapore, with views of Marina Bay sands, Singapore skyline, ferris wheel and other buildings.
The Merlion is a 8.5m-tall statue with the body of a fish and the head of a lion, shooting water from its mouth. It is located at the mouth of the Singapore River and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore.
The Merlion was designed by Kwan Sai Kheong and sculpted by Lim Nang Seng in 1964. It was originally located at the mouth of the Singapore River, but it was relocated to Merlion Park in 1997.
The Merlion is a symbol of Singapore's history and culture. The fish body represents Singapore's origins as a fishing village, while the lion head represents Singapore's original name, Singapura, which means "lion city" in Sanskrit.
Here are some additional details about the Merlion:
* It is 8.6 meters tall and weighs 70 tonnes.
* It is made of concrete and reinforced steel.
* It is located at the mouth of the Singapore River, near the Fullerton Hotel.
* It is open to the public 24 hours a day.
* It is a popular tourist attraction, and millions of people visit it each year.
I hope this information is helpful!
Superb travel destination. Even its more attractive in night. One of the most famous place in singapore. Behind marina bay hotel to capture together.
Iconic place in Singapore. It's mandatory to visit this place and spend some time here. I came here in evening time and during weekends and it was very crowded. There are many locations to be visited nearby and will recommend visiting here.
Really iconic place lucky to finally get the chance to go here, would advice to go during sunset to get the best pictures here but avoid weekends as its full and will be hard to get a good picture from a good spot
Amazing place to see the iconic Merlion, as well as to see the major landmarks of Singapore! Can get crowded at times though.
Visiting this place in the evening is so much better. The city lights from the buildings gives new vibe to the atmosphere and cooler temperature is such a relief.
Merlion statue is under construction. Lots of tourists came to the area just to take picture with the Marina bay sands backdrop. Bring a hat/brolly. A few eateries in the One fullerton.
This is a very scenic area in the marina. Amazing views of the sky-park and hotels, and it’s near many upscale shops and restaurants.
An iconic place in Singapore. You can visit for free. You can spend a good time with kids or family in the evening. You will see the beautiful view of Marina Bay Sand from here.
Good place to jog and stroll around. A lot of tourists during the late afternoon or approaching sunset.
Beautiful place and it was famous Singapore landmark. Two Merlion statues are located at the park.original statue is around 8 feet tall and small one is around 2 feet. The most attractive tourist place in Singapore. It will more beautiful in night time but we missed it,the lights reflecting on the water and Merlion statue can create a stunning atmosphere.
A fantastic place to visit, it is an extremely popular attraction in Singapore however it was not difficult getting excellent photos.
Touristy but still a must visit place in Singapore for good views of skyline. 🏙️
How to reach - You can take a cab or the MRT, nearest one is Bayfront MRT and it’s walkable from there.
Very Great park with lots of activities and one of the best view for singapore
A very nice place to visit 😍 with different views like buildings, or the marina bay sands or the lake. Day visit is also good but with many people around., excellent to go there at night time 🌟📷
It was a beautiful view that's why it got so many tourists 🤗
It’s a good place for evening, peaceful, and calm
You can just walk around the bridge and spend some time

Whether you're a tourist or a local, Merlion Park is a must-visit destination in Singapore. Its iconic statue, beautiful views, and convenient location make it a memorable experience for all.
Your Singapore experience is not complete if you’re not come tho this place. As the name says, merlion is a structure with half lion and half mermaid. It's very popular touristic spot. Unfortunately, I came on weekend. Too crowded. I can't take much photos.
We bought these cute Merlion popsicle for 8.90 dollars and 13.9 dollars for the musang king flavour. Not too crowded on a Friday afternoon.
One of the best places to walk near around the merlion statue. Dainty coffee shops and restos are lined up in this area.
Nothing to be mentioned about this landmark. Super famous among landmarks in the world and specially Asia. Visit it at night is also a greadt idea. It has its own beauty and light effect for night picture. Alot of shops around for your eating out after sightseeing. You need to walk for 5-10 minutes after taking off the last station of MRT.
It’s always nice coming here to see the Merlion, an icon of Singapore.
Pretty cool but this place is almost always crowded. Don’t miss the view at night.
So much tourist and the food stalls are selling variety of food and a souvenir..
Would love to see them provide more shaded area or sitting area to chill while enjoying the iconic view
Easy to find the place just need to walk straight from the MRT station and under the bridge
A major tourist attraction attracting thousands of people because of the wonderful views of the bay and the City skyline.
The park was crowded, but still can using the spot for photo. The toilet so clean (this is why i love Singapore), maybe you can bring toilet portable/wet tissue for more comfortable. Don't forget to bring umbrella (it's to damn hot there). And before you cross the bridge, you can rent a bicycle (down at the bridge)
Everybody gotta comes here for the check in in Singapore, It's no doubt, the only place to get a stunning view day and night of the bay, the Marina Bay Sand Hotel and the city itself. You will feel like never have enough of it, if you favor city light. It's a miss if you didn't come here.
Just a normal park.. became iconic place of Singapore bcz of social media
Great place to hang out in the evening and enjoy Singapore scenery with restaurants bars
Walking distance from Raffles station MRT
The serene waterfront promenade and well-manicured surroundings created a perfect atmosphere for a leisurely stroll. Witnessing the nightly light show was a magical experience that left a lasting impression. For me, Merlion Park was a memorable blend of culture and modernity, making it a must-visit spot in Singapore.
Very nice attractive place . Crowded always with tourists. People’ choice visit and they spend more time .only Happiness and chilling can see there.
As before. The iconic landmark is still awesome!
Must visit while in Singapore 🇸🇬
One of the best attractions of Singapore
Most iconic place in Singapore. You would feel the Singapore vibe in here.
Nice place, but obviously a bit crowded. Unfortunately, the Merlion was under construction when we visited. Also, there is a water show at 8 PM that you must experience. Highly recommended."
Ideal spot to stroll around and take photos n make videos but best in afternoon. cover your head by hat or cap during sunlight. Recommended for a daylight walk for photography and water front sight seeing at later hours plus watching sunset by sitting on benches by the side.
Not much of eatery spot so if you want to bring small snacks with you that will be good. Highly recommended and a must visit site while in Singapore.
Singa of Singapore
A cultural landmark of Singapore.... Great to see the location and the environment.
From Marina Bay, we couldn't reach very easily... But it was worth the sight...
Water surrounding the place and The Merlion itself ! Was good...

This is one of the 'must go' landmark in Singapore!!! The view and landscape is breathtaking. From here, we took a walk towards Marina Bay Sands. Before reaching MBS, we window shopped at the mall as well as getting small bites at the food court. From MBD, we continued towards Garden by the bay. A hub for tourists, we felt excited to be there 😅🥳🥳🥳😍
A nice to place to be in specially in the evening, the atmosphere and the view is amazing, you can jog around with Singapore strait. Merlion was under renovation so it is closed till December-23, photographic place with lots of options to eat and roam around.
Top most attractive place in Singapore 🇸🇬✨
Visiting during day and visiting during night both have their positives, one just has to see what’s preferred - photos in broad daylight or photos in nighttime with skyline lit up. It’s a good place to visit and nice walk around the park. Should visit once for sure.
There are a lot of people here on a weekday evening, despite the rain. And although there are high-end restaurants, there is also a convenience store under the bridge where you can enjoy a cheap beer.
Iconic Emblem and Pride of Singapore! Such majestic and Beautiful work that looks over marina bay and the sea in Singapore. Its a must visit here. It can get crowded but would be better to go early morning during the sun rise. Also there is a bridge walk to see the ocean and other attractions of Singapore. Also an awesome pub nearby to have food and a drink
I was here, and that's all that mattered, right? 😂 I honestly didn't enjoy much more than seeing the famous water lion thing, but the environment around it was nice to stroll through.
The symbol and icon of Singapore. This place is open 24x7 and I didn't expect the statue to be this big. No entrance fee, no visiting hours nothing, just go there take a stroll and enjoy the view.

Highly recommend. It was over crowded during our visits, maybe they have a rehearsal for Singapore’s National day. The show was spectacular. Worth visiting once for awhile.
It's a place where if you don't go, you haven't been to Singapore. The real one isn't big, but it's beautiful. It's hot during the day. Millions of tourists No matter how you take a picture, it will stick in people's heads. Recommended to go in the evening. Sunset in the evening would be better as you would be able to see the night view as well. The light colors will be beautiful.

If you’d like to avoid hustling bustling tourist crowd, visit at the night time. It’s pretty much calm and you get your photos without anybody photobombing. It’s a cute Merlion for sure.
