Darren from Mortgage Wise was handling my case and I have to admit that the service is way way above my expectation! He is responsive whenever I have questions and he get back to me almost instantly be it questions on the different type of mortgage loans, valuation, general questions on closing etc. This applies 24/7!! Also, Darren is well connected with bankers from different bank and also had good contact with law firms that are of excellent quality and integrity! In fact, I went back to the same law firm for my 2nd mortgage without a second thought despite it being slightly more expensive than normal. Chose MortgageWise coz of all the favorable reviews and testimonies and they are legit. Melissa contacted me within one working day of my online enquiry. We spoke and I sent her info/ documents via WhatsApp. And within 2 days she came back with some quotations from banks and explanation of the relative merits of the offers/ terms and conditions. With her recommendation I was able to get a >0.5% reduction in my monthly interest, which for a loan of this quantum worked out to a lot. I never had to do anything face to face, and everything with Melissa was settled via WhatsApp/ email. Within 2 weeks of my first contacting MortgageWise, I had already met with the banker and signed the documents needed. Re-financing requires some effort, but most of it can be done readily online, until the actual signing of documents. With the packages they helped negotiate, the cost of valuation and the legal fee was covered by the rebates and gifts offered by the bank and MortgageWise so I not only saved on the interest, there was no little out-of-pocket expenses for this whole exercise. The eventual redemption and disbursement of the loan by the new bank takes 3 months, so kick-start the process early if you are coming to the end of the lock in period.
