Reviews of New Market Seafood Soup
Very Affordable n Very Healthy fish /seafood soup. Clear soup not v salty. Packed with seafood n minced pork. Good value. This era where to find $5/ big bowl of soup with lots of minced pork which is not fat, and 50c full bowl of white rice !!! Pic also shows fish porridge. Some may not know “porridge” here is actually rice in the soup. Teo Chew style.
The hawker lady is a kind soul. She brings the food to the old pple/ customers although it is self service. Kind hawkers shld be rewarded with praises👍🏼
Went around after lunch time 2 plus thus no long queue. Ordered $5 portion Seafood Soup and rice. The soup is very flavourful and rich definitely different from the usual type you eat elsewhere. There were 4x prawns, 2x lala with fish slices and Minced pork. The minced pork I think they mixed with fish meat thus giving a springy texture and it is extremely delicious. Veggie wise there are lettuce and bittergourd which are sufficient for a balanced meal. It has this very traditional old school Teochew fish soup taste that reminds me of the fish soup I ate while growing up which sadly isn't in existence anymore. Overall I feel it is worth it to queue and value for money.
Walked past but 1pm and saw a long queue (relative to other stalls), and many diners eating it - an indication foodbis good. Decided to try. Ordered the $5 fish and minced pork soup. Rice is extra at $0.50. Soup is tasty and not too salty, fish and minced pork is fresh. Soup has lots of bitter gourd and greens. Very good 1 dish lunch.
Hidden gem in Chinatown, wok hei.
Love their fish soup. Always long queue but worth the wait. Aunty is very friendly. But the cook always in grumpy mood.
Great Value Food and Service by the lady stallholder who serve each customer with a smile, and sometimes bring the dish to your table if she is not busy.
There are a lot of ingredients and the soup is quite delicious. They even put seaweed here. Contains bitter melon and celery, so it's very healthy! Best of all, it's only $4. Even if you give me two $2 bills, I won't be able to make them myself. I slid in before there was a line. However, since it is not a one-off operation, the rotation seems to be faster than it looks.
