So far, Old Amoy Chendol is my favorite. The outlet that I have tried is at Chinatown Complex. The coconut milk, the gula Malaka syrup, and the red beans balance up without overpowering each other.

What is a Cendol?
Cendol is an iced sweet dessert that contains droplets of pandan-flavored green rice flour jelly, coconut milk, and palm sugar or gula Malaka syrup. It is commonly found in Southeast Asia and is popular in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, and Myanmar.

This is one of the popular chendol stall in Singapore. There is always a queue in the afternoon. The portion is rather small for $2.50. The chendol is home made and the gula melaka syrup is yummy and coconut milk is very fresh.
The lady operates the stall alone and is rather slow. However, she is very diligent and patient.

🍧Dessert wise: Tasted quite alright, sweetness just nice, had thick gula melaka and soft red beans, the rice flour jelly wasn’t quite right for me. This Chendol is definitely better most of the Chendol sold out there, the standard was nearing the Nyonya Chendol.
✨ Ambience wise: Busy hawker centre!
🤵🏻 Service wise: Aunty was just busy!
💵 Price wise: $2.50
Satisfying chendol but lacks oomph. Lacks the lemak (coconut milk) taste found in other good chendol joints. I also found the gula melaka taste rather lacking and could be much better if they were a bit more generous here.
Cheap and good chendol- although they should be more generous with the coconut milk to give it a better flavour. Try to come in a weekday as the person who makes it on the weekend doesn’t make the chendol as good as the weekday person.
Old Amoy Chendol (Main) is located in Chinatown Complex, stall #02-008.
Price: $2.50 (Chendol)
Chendol is a dessert consisting of shaved iced, coconut milk, gula melaka (coconut palm sugar) and the green noodle jelly which is made from rice flour and is usually flavoured with pandan. There is usually the option to add on sweet corn, red bean or durian ice cream.
The coconut milk was rich, the gula melaka was fragrant, the pandan jelly had a delightful pandan scent and just the right softness and the red beans was thick, soft and still held on to its shape for some bite. An amazing dessert on a hot day.
Service was quick and it took less than a minute from ordering to me receiving this tasty bowl of chendol.
Chinatown Complex Market and Food Centre is an extremely busy and large hawker due to it being located in Chinatown, a very popular tourist destination. Only managed to find a seat deep within the hawker centre and it took me a good minute of walking between the stall and my seat before I could enjoy my chendol and because of that, my chendol had sadly started to melt a little.
3 main things make the difference for a great chendol to me - ice shaving texture, rich gula melaka, and freshly made droplets of green rice flour jelly (not hardened cos kept in fridge for too long).
Old Amoy Chendol @ Chinatown Complex is great, at least to me.
Chendol, as it should be! $2.80 as of September 2024. Located in the north part of the building, upper floor.
One of the best chendol I have. Nothing too fancy. Back to basic. Old school kind. The gula melaka is good too. Chendol self made, texture just nice 👌
We visited this stall before they started franchising out, and we still go back here whenever we are in the vicinity. It is a smaller bowl compared to others, but it's great ingredients and quality. A good measure is the chendol (greens stuff) which is soft, right texture and not frozen unlike many chendol chains. The red beans are cooked with charcoal and taste just right. Worth a visit.
One of the best cendol in SG. The ice is smooth and not clumpy, the cendol pandan is tasty, coconut milk in fresh, and the melaka sugar is not bitter. $2.5 in a small bowl, just perfect portion for a refreshing dessert. Highly recommended.
I don't eat a lot of chendol. Some how it is not my thing but this is really good. The coconut sauce is quite thick and its not over sweet. Taste of pandan is just right.
Just follow the lines of seasoned Singaporeans enjoying their golden years…they know what’s up. This place is the real deal.
If you love shaved ice, bing soo, try Chendol. So yummy!
What I like in my chendol is the sweetness of gula melaka. But for Amoy Chendol, the coconut taste is the main star which is surprisingly very pleasant!
While I am flabbergasted at the price of the chendol - $2.50, I understand the plight of our local hawkers. Would eat this chendol again if I’m in the area.
I loved the taste of this chendol and full of ingredients packed in a small bowl. I came here at about 2pm on a Wednesday so I did not have to Q up at all. Tips to find this stall: Amoy chendol 02-008 enter from staircase 8 (off Smith Street and North Bridge road). On the ground floor, you will see stalls selling socks. Look for the staircase on your right.
One of the better chendols I've had in SG. Very soft green jelly, gula melaka is gooey and the red bean is delicious too. Price is $2.50 now, inflation is real guys
Love the green chendol 'jellies'. They were melt in your mouth soft. Sweetness just right. Awesome red bean paste! One bowl is not enough~!
I had my very first Chendol here and I loved it!!! It was so flavorful with a mixture of texture. Really excellent!
Best chendol in Singapore! (Sorry four seasons) The pandan jelly was so soft and fragrant. Gula melaka was also really rich which blends well with the coconut milk. At only $2 a bowl, it's really worth it!
One of my favourite things to eat at Chinatown. Chendol is handmade and SOFT. Love the use of Japanese red beans to add that extra touch. You can also ask for more gula melaka and coconut milk, though what they give is plenty already. And only for $2! Worth every cent.
Bookmarked this stall to try for ages as I heard many good things about it. Finally got around to trying it and was not disappointed. Very authentic taste! Takes me back to Melaka. For $2, I would say it’s worth it
A delicious and cheap eat to cool down in those hot days, can't complain. My daughter and wife enjoyed it and will definitely also be back.
Overall is good. The ice can be more fluffy. I prefer more chewy jelly while some prefer their existing texture.
Wonderful chendol! Fresh ingredients with a irresistible gula melaka & the right amount of sweetness, it's definitely worth the queue.
Simplicity at its best. 2.50 used to be 2.00.
All ingredients are as pure as possible and minimally processed.
Love the panda jelly. Full of pandan flavour.
Ask for less gula melaka to reduce sweetness.
Affordable chendol with fresh & “simple” ingredients that taste so rich and oh so nice! 😋
A highly recommended dessert whenever you visit the food centre at Chinatown Complex!
Can taste the pandan leaves from the authentic handmade chendol, with fresh coconut milk n gula melaka used.
Absolutely 10/10. The shop aunty is lovely.
The pandan chendol is tasty, the coconut milk ice is perfect along with thick gula melaka to die for and a bitta red bean on the side. How. Good. Perfect for a bit day and one of.my favourite desserts.
All for $2.50 too!
tried it cos my i saw it on youtube and it lived up to its standard being malaysian and living in singapore its hard to replicate a good malaysian chendol but this was great even my other malaysia friend agreed to it
.
and i also gave my extra bowl i ordered to an uncle because i wanted to share the joy the person working was happy i did it i think but ye i think it really made someone smile that day
.
btw order standard not sweetened even for a sweet tooth like me i preferred standard over sweetened
.
if u search up the stall on youtube you should find a video about this and the tasted exactly like what the owners described it to be
One of the best chendol I have tasted in Singapore! Located at the large Chinatown Hawker Centre which may take a while to locate.
The green chendol bits are really soft which according to the online reviews are handmade using traditional methods. I like the red beans which is nice and not overly sweet. The brown sugar is fragrant and nice too. It is operated by 3rd gen young hawker who is trying to preserve the original taste and craft. Kudos to that!
Simple and refreshing chendol. The red bean is mushy and green jelly melts-in-your-mouth. 2 bucks for a somewhat small bowl. But that price for great chendol is worth it.
- S$2.5 for 1
- The flavor is normal
- Shaved ice inside
Not really a fan of these types of deserts, but it tastes pretty good! Didn't have to wait in line either.
Enjoyed the chendol ($2.50), especially the gula melaka. Unfortunately, there was no atap chee (palm seeds) in it. Otherwise it was good.
Delicious chendol. Very smooth red bean paste cooked using charcoal fire for hours, the taste is so good that worth every single effort.
All the toppings are handmade! The gula melaka is just nice. Perfect for hot weather.
Good nice thick gula melaka.
Prefer the cendol more "chewy" and thicker coconut milk
They made chendol really delicious. I have eaten 3 bowls a day because it is so tasty
This stall only sell chendol and nothing else.
Tasted like traditionally way not too sweet and chendol is soft, believed could be handmade. Small bowl and cost $2.50.
As inside the market, so never think about atmosphere but it keep you cool.. can try.
What's better than a cooling sweet refreshing chendol on a hot day after lunch. Smooth shave ice, sweet gula melaka and red beans plus chewy green jelly thing. A good mixture of everything, alot of ingredient given and overall not too sweet.
The most authentic and most close to Malaysia Chendol. The green Chendol itself you can taste it’s not the factory made, gula melaka is awesomely great! First time buy I get my German boyfriend and myself 3 box to take away. Never regret, we both love it.
If you are a jaggery fan and want to have jaggery with lots of ice. This is the best place in Singapore to taste melted jaggey (gula melaka) completely absorbed in ice.
This is a decent bowl of cendol in SG. Just that I was disappointed after reading all the good reviews, will we finally have cendol as good as those in Malaysia?
Unfortunately no, it is such a simple dish which makes quality of ingredients very important. You just can't get good gula melaka here in SG. Even the coconut milk here is lacking in fragrance.
Loving it. It takes absolutely fantastic. So far, this is the one, I definitely have it whenever I come to Chinatown. The texture , the red bean coconut milk is per....r.fect. you can ask less sweet if needed. Bring old memories to the one i have in Seremban Chendol.
Chendol was great, but had to que very long.
I ordered chendol via watsapp. Received response promptly. Service is tip top. Delivered to my doorstep. Reached within the time given. The chendol tasted very nice and the ingredients are perfect. Especially the gula melaka. Bought 10 bowls for the whole family and they love it. Definitely will repeat order. Thank you Old Amoy Chendol.
BEST CHENDOL EVER (better than Albert Food Centre's) Silky, smooth chendol with its rich coconut milk, smooooth Gula Melaka, silky pandan 'green thingy' and 'not too hard' crushed ice, the combination creates a connoction of flavours light to taste, yet boasts in its depth of flavour. I've tried it, and you should! Before the crowds come (:
So glad that Singapore has yummilicious chendol. Even better than most talk about chendol in Malacca and Penang.
Home made chendol and red bean are fresh and tasty at OLD AMOY CHENDOL. Good quality Gula Melaka is used.
Very friendly and young business owner, if you prefer to stay home, they offer delivery service as well.
It is definitely a MUST TRY dessert. My friends and family members simply ❤ it.
It's my first time trying this dish, and it's so refreshing ang delicious. I will definitely come back for this again whenever I go back in Singapore.
Ok. Can try. Still prefer power chendol😉
This is a thing of beauty, soft pillowy pandan pearls that coats your tongue in kaya essence, decadent gula melaka, rich coconut milk. The slight hint of salt in the chendol pearls is nothing short of an art form.
Hoping for a durian collab!
One of the best Chendol stalls in Singapore. Taste is very close to a couple of amazing Chendols I had in Malacca. I think $2 for such a fabulous dessert is a steal.
No frills cendol for $2. Serving portion is acceptable for the price that still satisfies the cravings. Gula melaka and the santan, red beans and etc is quite a lot as well. Will come again.
First time eating chendol and it was so good
I actually learnt about this chendol store through a documentary short video that I saw on Facebook! Thought it was really interesting how the owner of the shop still uses traditional hand pounding method to make the chendol itself! That is quite rare these days! At $2 a bowl, the chendol was really delicious! So much better than the ones at most kopitiam! Highly recommend to try!
Love the chendol! Not too sweet and wont feel jelat after eating. The stall owners are always nice and polite!! Keep it up.
Best cendol in Singapore. Thick gula melaka, soft azuki bean with fine shave ice.
Order was easy to place. Delivery was prompt and well packed. Needless to say, everyone loved the Chendol. Even relatives who are nonyas says it’s nice.
Simple ingredients done right! From red bean, green jelly, coconut milk and lastly gula melaka, rich and flavorsome.
Loved the 'old school taste of this Chendol. Lots of pandan jelly and red beans with just right amount of gula melacca.
Very good bowl of chendol. Ingredients are v nice and not too sweet. Highly recommended
Shiok!! Not overly sweet and you can taste the panda flavour in the chendol itself. Need another bowl now..
clean and smooth taste.
coconut milk a bit too strong, but melaka sugar taste was great
Though its not really traditional taste, you can never go wrong with coconut and gula melaka.🤤
The ingredients so fresh and coconut milk is so good with the palm sugar. So delicous
Best chendol in Singapore. Friendly Aunty at the stall too. Husband will always crave for this chendol!
The taste of the cendol is like way2 back in the 70s. Awesomely marvolously superdelicious!!
My favorite chendol place, except that the price on the higher side ($2.50/bowl).
Excellent owner n delivery service were prompt v customer service focused! Chendol was delicious !
Love the chendol. Have been coming here for years, affordable and comforting.
Best chendol in SG, each ingredient is painstakingly prepared and quality is top notch
old school chendol in a stall which been here for long time. good dessert in original basic form.
So amazingly delicious.
This place is a stall located inside Chinatown Food Complex.
Quality chendol that sets the standard for other vendors
Fast delivery. Delicious as always!
very nice you got to try!?
One of the best chendol in Singapore
One of my favorite chendol in Singapore
Our family is a long time repeat customer.
Since it is homemade, the cendol is not made with chemicals, and the traditional style of cendol is the culmination of all the ingredients that the owner is particular about.
However, even in this day and age, we offer it at a reasonable price of $2.50.
Perfect for a hot day.
A little break for dessert.
When you want to eat something.
If you are in Singapore, you must try the authentic chendol
<Toilet>
It's inside the hawker,
There is a basic fee, so bring 20 cents with you.
There will be an old lady sitting at the entrance to the restroom, so give her 20 cents and enter the restroom.
On 22/7, when I happened to pass by, I was drawn to the Chinese spirit of competing with just one bottle of chendol, so I decided to try it. I was impressed.
2.5SGD with this quality.
Even though Chinatown is large, the cost performance here is astonishing. If you want to try some local sweets, please come by.
First experience of chendol
Coconut milk shaved ice is delicious
Azuki and pandan leaf agar is also a good combination.
I had the cendol without red beans as I don't really like it - I guess I had a bit more pandan jelly. The ice cream is a little strong at first but it melts quite quickly and becomes more enjoyable.
Located on the second floor of CK Department Store in Chinatown, a hawker food center with the only traditional cendol. Cheap and good, use the early chicken bowl with grated ice and snow, add thick coconut milk, delicious and sweet coconut sugar and red beans that melt in your mouth, plus delicious green noodles, and you will have a bowl of fragrant and delicious dessert (Cendol). You can easily find a satisfying place, sit down and enjoy it slowly. This is also a rare enjoyment!
