Reviews of Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee Jurong East
One of my favourite wanton noodles, easily among my top 5. I always go for the one with black sauce—shiok, man. But if you don't like it too salty, can try the original.
Update: It's been over a year since my last visit, and I'm happy to say they're still as good. Had the original today (6 Aug 2024). The noodles are still super al dente, just the way I like them. The lard, wah, so aromatic—it really elevates the whole dish. The fish sausages and char siew are also damn tasty, and everything comes together so well. Confirm will come back again.
Nice, the taste is heavy enough like the northern part of Malaysia wanton mee soy sauce type,. 5.50 sgd for 1 Portion, worth a try for the taste . I only enjoy the noodles, the rest i not much enjoy 😆
The noodle is springy and many ingredient in one bowl with plenty of pork lard 😍. The charsiew is average, but what i like is they use lean meat instead. The wanton filling is well marinated, nice. I personally prefer the white version (original), the black one is more salty.
The fried pork is nice, taste of ginger, garlic and onion. I not a fan of garlic and onion, but i cannot deny the blend and crispness was good.
For $5.50 a bowl, the portion and the ingredients are acceptable.
I only waited abt 5 min, on Sunday 12pm.
Taste good though. My bf and I finished everything, as seen from picture, haha.
I prefer the soup one, less oily.
The 腊肠 is real good.
Noodle taste like indomie noodle, so quite good.
The 烧肉 is good too.
Vegetable could have been more, but it taste good also.
Beware of the chili powder, even a bit taste quite strong.
Only 3 standard noodle: soup, original, black sauce.
Overall for the taste and this price, 4.8 stars. Recommended :).
Just had a bowl of wanton mee, ordered the Jumbo size which is $6.00, noodle is good but I find it too salty for my taste, probably will ask them to reduce the sodium next time which I think will taste much better
Didn’t expect their signature wanton mee to be such a huge bowl. It was priced at SGD5.50.
The noodles were springy and the variety of meat were quite a lot.
I finished everything safe for some noodles and meat. Not bad but a little oily.
Noodles are q q and nice. Char Siew is a towards the lean side and too dry for my liking. Cost is a bit steep considering it’s a coffee shop stall.
Back to my fav Thai Wanton Mee for breakfast. Char Siew, Fried Wanton, Fish Sausage, Pork Lard and Veg toss with Springy Egg Noodles, so flavourful 😋
.
Location: Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee, Blk 134 Jurong Gateway Road (Foodcity Coffeeshop), Jurong East Central, Singapore 600134
Friends favourite, coffeeshop dominator, always sporting a long queue 👍🏻
Very filling bowl of noodles, QQ noodles, generous portion of ingredients.
Black sauce variant is a little sweet for my liking, the signature sauce one tastes better imo 🙃
Always fantastic value and despite having a long line it moves super quick. Glad to say that the quality has never decreased over the years and still remains one of my favourite wanton mees in Singapore. Incredibly enjoyable and highly recommended.
First time trying this. Noodles were tasty even though it doesn't look like there's any sauce coating the noodles.
Toppings are the bomb. In particular, I loved the fried Chinese sausages.
Springy noodles, ordered their signature regular size $4. There was no queue at 1.30pm on a weekday. Received food quick. Huge pieces of pork lard!
Haven't had the original from Thailand but the flavour is Thai enough for the average traveller =9
Good value too @ $5.50/serving, more expensive than regular wanton mee but definitely worth it given the variety of ingredients included.
This is the best wanton mee in Singapore, which is totally different from the normal singapore style wanton mee that usually soak in chilli sauce or tomato sauce. It is very dry & tasty, you can really taste the noodle without being overwhelmed by any chilli sauce or tomato sauce. Their wanton noodle is very springy, the ingredients & the pork lard make it a perfect match!
The portion now is getting smaller though, compare to when they just started in the AMK stall.
Good wanton noodles. Nothing to complain about the noodles, the sauce and the ingredients which ,for $5, include fried and boiled wantons, tender char siew, chunks of fried Thai sausage, pork lard and chai sim vegetables... Just a word of caution on the help yourself to chilli flakes... Go easy with the chilli flakes... I rate the spiciness punch as double that delivered by McSpicy.
Nice noodle.. The crispy pork is good~!
Not open for dinner though~
Love the black sauce WTM here. The Thai version is good too!
They close at 4pm daily so do not come here for dinner!
Agree that Cha siu is dry and no more boiled wanton. Standard dropped.
This is the best version of SOI 19 Thai WTM in SG. Primarily because of an adequate (but generous) amount of Lard to flavour the noodles that could not have been more perfectly cooked. Springy, individual strands with generous amount of CharSiew, Deep Fried Wantons, and Chinese Sausage!. Add chilli flakes or more fish
Sauce to taste. $5.50 for a big bowl, it's value for money.
The lap Cheong was great.. but $5 a bowl seemed a little high for a bowl of wanton mee. And I didn’t really enjoy the wanton
Just fantastic. Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee @ Block 130 Jurong Gateway Road is a gem in the West. Serving delicious Thai Wanton Mee. The noodles were cooked well to perfection, tangy and springy. Sauces blended well. Soup was peppery and tasty. Fried Wantons were crispy and stuffings were well marinated. Service was fast and efficient. Absolutely a wonderful dining experience.
Food was tasty start from 4-6 sgd.. Not bad can be try !
Frequent this branch often, and prefer the original one without black sauce. Often has many pork lards in a bowl of noodles, with good mixture of veg & sausages. Their fried wanton is fragrant and crispy. Have been consistent in the quality.
Love the noodles. It's really fragrant with the fried lard, sweet sausages gives the overall combination a good zing.
Kids love the taste too, a refreshing change from the usual ketchup/chilli soaked wanton noodles.
Went there on Saturday lunch period, had about 5person queuing infront of me. They cleared the queue pretty fast.. Total waited about 10mins.
I tried the original Thai Wanton noodles big ($5) and homemade thai fish cake ($5). Noodle texture was good, not soggy and not too hard. Wanton itself was average. Noodle portion was a little small despite ordering the large size.
The Thai fish cake was very nice, I like it alot but they gave only 5 pieces, so $1 a piece.
Overall satisfied with the meal but feel abit too costly for a coffeeshop noodle.
Portion is average. Noodles are nice and springy. Queues could take anything between 15 minutes to an hour. Bowls go from Regular ($4), Regular Extra ($5), Large ($5), to Jumbo ($6).
The winning parts were the QQ chewy egg noodles, cured fish sausage and dried chilli flakes. No sauce was added so customers could find it dry. Just help yourself to the condiments.
Tasty Thai wanton noodles (crispy wanton, noodles with chewy texture, yummy roast meat). Overall, good value for money. However not worth queuing more than 20min for it.
Tips:
1. Avoid lunch crowd, come before 11am.
2. Get the large bowl, portions are small.
Not bad but a bit pricey - $5.5 for signature wtm. But overall good wtm
Oct 2024: Recently after renovation increased price fyi
Nice wanton mee though the portion can be a bit small (it used to be smaller!). The fish sausage tastes great! Not too oily or dry, and is a welcomed change from, say, Chinese sausage (:
My comfort food for weekends! Taste is fabulous and unique! You can have it non spicy or spicy. Their wantons (fried or boil type) and noodles are suitable for children too.
It's ok, portion is smaller for $4.00. 3 dumplings in total.
Best wanton mee in my opinion. Fish sausages rocks!
Food is so good. Everything is so delicious and nice, especially the fish lup Cheong. Waiting time can be long as the noodle need to be cooked to perfection.
$5.50 for wanton noodles is definitely on the higher side. But have to say the taste is good
Very yummy noddle. One of the best in Singapore. Highly recommended 👍👍👍
Noodles supposedly inspired by a famous stall at Soi 19 Bangkok. Often crowded. I found the noodles a bit dry and not to my liking.
One of my favorite WTM, alittle on the pricy side. $6 for a decent size bowl that will actually fill me up. Unique Thai style WTM with chunks of grilled Chinese sausage.
Nice Thai wanton mee in coffee shop
Tastes great, long queu but worth it
Really yummy and tasty noodles, you wouldnt regret trying this place! Bowls come in $4, $5, $6, increasing in ingredients and noodles.
The noodles were OK but I had to add the chilli flakes to make it more flavorful. The Thai pork was good.
Amazing wanton mee with a thai twist for $4. Go and do yourself a favour and try it out! I highly recommend the $1 topup for the larger bowl.
Not bad, the noodles abit oily and springy. The wanton taste not bad too.
Wanton Mee is tasty. Noodles are springy and oily. But still can't compare to the original in Bangkok.
Yummy! Tastes like Penang wanton mee. However it's on the expensive side. $4 for a small bowl!
Tried the jumbo size @$6.. taste good.. noodle spongy.. soup also quite tasty.. char siew.. chinese susage.. wanton.. etc also nice..
Queue is often long but they serve very fast. Very good if you like white-style and pork lard.
Mix review as the noodles are good but downside is the standard is dropping..
Same goes to it’s operating hours, Closes off early before dinner time..
Price went up. Portion does not match the price anymore. Taste slightly change compare to the previous location.
Dam nice bodoh. The dry wanton mee i see no sauce i thought it will be tasteless but turns out the noodle have taste one.
The noodles are great! Like the little pieces of fish sausage too
This was a fantastic replica of what one can get in Bangkok. The closest thing to a teleportation machine. Soup served on the side ain't shabby too.
Noodles were savoury and you won't get sick of it! Best wanton noodle iv tasted
Was trying to get some Thai wanton noodles for lunch. Alas... the shop is no longer around. Replaced by a ban mian shop.
Best to order the $5 portion
The wanton mee is not too bad, however, the portion is too little at a price of $4/- for a bowl.
Great taste, especially for the soy sauce version. Sprinkle with abit of chilli flake, you be wow even further
Good ! Worth the queue, but portion might be small for big eater
That's the best Thai Wanton Noodles I had.
From Bangkok street to Singapore! Tasty!
Mmm... quite of a similar taste from Thailand of cos the original is always the best!
Delicious as usual!! Not your conventional type of dry wanton mee
Business too good. Not open when i visited. Half coffee shop reserved table for the zhu cha.
Taste of Singapore wanton mee.. nothing to shout out for and far from the taste to thai flavour
Taste good n very expensive wantan noddles.
The Thai Wanton Mee is crispy
Very nice. Very good.
So so...
Great food!
Best
