Reviews of Song Heng Fishball Minced Meat Noodle
The portion here is HUGE! And the queue is LONG! If you want to get any pork lard, you must go early (I didn't manage to get any even though I started queuing at 10:30am on a Saturday morning).
The big bowl of noodles that you see there is only $3.5! The bowl of mee pok with the huge chunk of minced meat only $4.5. 5 stars for the generous portion.
I ordered the chili with vinegar style. The chili is really spicy and I do eat chili padi everyday. Nice tanginess with a big kick in spiciness.
The fishball is factory made - very bouncy but I find that it doesn't have any fish flavor.
The noodle is made tasty and smooth by the pork lard you can see them frying inside the stall. There is always a queue but worth the wait. Fish ball is al dente and fish cake is sliced thickly for one to enjoy it. We ordered three varieties, the signature fishball minced meat noodle, fish balls only and one signature noodle with no meat. Personally feels it is the best in S’Pore 😋.
Decided to join the long queue because of the long queue. 😉 First time having this dry fishball minced pork meepok. The flavour was good although I prefer the type with Chinese wine and 鳊鱼. The portion size was generous. My whole bowl was topped with ingredients for just $4! I enjoyed the soup too. The 2 lady bosses were smiley and friendly.
Mixture of the sauce quantity and taste is well balanced. End of eat, you don't see much sauce or oil behind.
Soup is tasty hence it explains why there are many soup orders instead or dry.
Fishball and minced pork is great. I would prefer the fishcake texture to be similar to fishball.
Will return to eat again.
6am. Best Breakfast In town. Please order the $5/- portion. Tastiest soup ever. Downside, always got queue. Please be patience. Highly recommended.
Best fishball noodles this side of Singapore. The boss had unfortunately passed on few years earlier, but his sweet always smiling wife has taken over and has kept up with his tradition. Bouncy fishballs, tasty sauce mix for dry option and umami soup. Hearty portion for the price too. Highly recommended! Look for the (always) long queue regardless of time. They can sell out by lunch time!
Vinegar type of fish ball noodles.. normal $4..order $5..either add noodles or ingredients..still searching for my favourite..
Must try!!
DELICIOUS! Noodles were cooked perfectly, a nice QQ bite. Chilli and sauce mixture was done really well too, every mouth was so so flavourful. Additional points if you're a pork lard lover. Just look at the huge chunks of pork lard - crispy, fresh, generous with it.
They were very generous with the ingredients as well, on top of the fishballs, fishcake, there was also a really good amount of minced meat in the soup. The soup was pretty tasty too - not easy to find nowadays.
Superb value for money. The noodles price on the menu $3.50/$4.50. The $4.50 is definitely way more than enough to fill your stomach.
Also special mention to the owners. I LOVED how friendly they are.
Fish balls sold out as early as 11 am , disappointing!
Other ingredients were fresh . Too much vinegar though .
My fav fishball noodle stall.
I discovered it the day before we had our covid lockdown. The serving portion is generous for $3.50. Very nice fishballs, I always order another pack of 10 fishball soup. The picture is a $4.50 pack, I could share it with my boy.
Auntie is super friendly but sadly her husband passed away and she has to take over the cooking.
The stall will be closed on Sundays and Mondays with effect from 12 Feb 2023. Be there early as they are usually sold out by 12+pm. Expect a queue in the morning.
A long queue but definitely worth the wait; no regrets. It’s one of the best fish ball minced meat mee pok I ever had. Mee pok texture was made just right. Ingredients were fresh and savoury, and the whole dish perfected with their chilli. Despite the generous portion and being loaded with ingredients, they still kept price very affordable at only $3.50. And really kudos to the stall aunty - obviously it’s long and tiring work yet she’s always so patient and friendly with customers.
I like the fishball mee here. The ingredients are: fish cake, fish ball, pork slices, minced pork and vege. There are long Q most of the days and sold out 3 hours after they start their day. 3.50 per bowl is value for money.
Apparently there's an unspoken rule that when the lights are off, it means there may not be enough fishballs for you. So continue queueing if you wanna gamble. I was ok without fishballs so I stayed in line. Stall Owner displayed another "fishballs sold out" sign just before my turn, but i still managed to get fishballs in my noodles! So maybe it's meant for ppl who were just joining the queue. Can approach the stall owner to clarify if you want, she's v friendly! Queued about 30 min with about 15 ppl ahead of me at the start, enjoyed my meal but don't think I would queue so long next time cuz by the time I brought my food to my table, my family finish eating alr lol.
The portion is very huge. The ingredients are generous as well as the noodles
The best and cheapest BCM at AMK. $3.50.
One of the better Fishball Mince Meat Noodles in AMK. The taste is still good even after tabao. Best to add more chilli and vinegar to make spicier and sour.
This is easily the best bak chor mee in Ang MO Kio.
Portion is big, noodle is nice, taste of vinegar, fishball is fantastic.
But always long queue till 2pm.
Finally, after months of wanting to try this stall, my wife and me ate this morning. Bravo, fish ball is fresh and very reasonable price. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
great as always and a PSA 😬
Worth getting up early in the morning just to have this best breakfast
Loved the chilli, vinegary, lard mix for the meepok. Noodles portion easily the biggest in Singapore, small eaters should probably ask for less noodles.
Aunties were smiley and friendly even though there is a perpetual queue.
