Reviews of Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve Visitor Centre
It was the first time I went exploring Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Personally, I am squimmish with the creatures like snakes, lizards, worms, caterpillars and bugs. The weather yesterday was hot and dry with not a single leave was dancing in the wind - humid. But the tour guide Mr Alan has made it bearable with his sharing of interesting facts, stories about the flora and fauna and how to survive in a jungle! I did enjoy the beautiful scenery there.
A lovely escape from the city. The wetlands are full of beautiful mangroves with lots of fish, monitor lizards and bird life. If you are lucky you may see a crocodile. There are no taxis available to leave there, so you need to take the 925 to the nearest MRT and take public transport or a taxi back to the city from there.
Amazing wetland to visit got the weekends. Around 4-5 km of the trails with beautiful mangroves and trails. Lot of birds to see beautiful views can see the malaysia.
visiting at the trial early morning is really good. It’s timing are 7am - 7pm. Staring by 7:30 - 8 is really amazing as weather is not too hot and by 12-12:30 you can easily finish the full trail.
Water facility available, pokka machines are there and also washroom and lockers facility is available. No food is allowed to have there as a picnic.
The park has been upgraded with better foot path and barrier on both sides of the path to guard against crocodiles. Overall conditions is much better now. A perfect location for birds and wild lifes watching.
It is amazing how this mangrove swamp is so important to the global environment.
Get a local guide to tell you more about how this place was designated as a national park and how is it important to the global ecosystem.
A beautiful place for morning walk. Love the nature species and mangroves there. A very shaded place and with many photographers gathering to snap photo birds, monitor lizards, squirrels, huge spiders and crocodile. If you are lucky enough, you may spot otters as well.
Sungei Buloh Wetland is well preserved nature reserve to lookout for migrating birds as well as wildlife. Nice place to talk a casual walk and explore the nature and lookout for birds, inserts and reptile. It has changed a lot since I last visited about 7 years ago.
Enjoyed the visit very much even though it was drizzling! We joined the guided tour for an hour and do another hour walking around. Lots of wildlife to see.
Its a nice place to hike, have a first hand look at mangroves, birds, and sometimes, reptiles. I saw a few monitors and a plethora of cranes. Beware of insects though. I would recommend some kind of anti bug spray. Also, i will revisit during winter for the migratory birds.
A really nice nature reserve with great wildlife. So fun to spend time watching giant mudskippers clearing their pond homes, fighting for tree climbing crabs, having little skirmishes for territory... A peaceful, soothing retreat in highly urbanised Singapore. Highly recommended to go soak in the calm in the cool wetlands.
Keep in touch with nature- this reserve is predominantly for the tropical vegetation n mangroves in sungai (river) Buloh. Nice for a quiet stroll to enjoy nature - many treks within the area and one could also bird watch. Many sea eagles in the region. Dress light, bring headgear, insect repellent and binoculars if u have them. It’s an interesting 2-3 hour walk. Only vending machines n water cooler so bring your own if u wish. Ample car parking space. Signs warn of crocodiles so do not stray off the paths.
I have been here a couple of times and it never ceases to amaze me. Spotted a number of animals from birds to monitor lizard, snakes to crocodiles. Definitely a place to visit to disengage from the urban and take great shots of the water!
Another gem of Singapore! Great pristine place filled with flora and wild life sightings (mangrove areas, estuary crocs, migratory birds). Great for walks, exercising. Do be mindful and keep volume down, so as not to cause disturbance to the wild life there. Also keep to the marked tracks, do not attempt to go off to take selfies etc. Leave nothing behind but good memories.
Not so much difference from old sungei buloh wetland. Signboard very unclear, there is no indication on the estimate distance. This makes tourist difficult to plan for the rest point. No toilet along the way make the long trip very inconvenient.
Sungei Buloh Wetland, such a beautiful silent place in Singapore away from all the hassles. We could explore only a glimpse due to time constraint. To visit again n again :)
It's a good place.. I been waking all day with its view gives me a great wild feeling. Just saw one tiny monitor lizards, swordfish, muds kippers, birds mangroves and many more. It's a nice place to walk through with ur gangs making fun for a great experience.
Pleasant trip to the wetlands and we even managed to catch a sighting of the eagles! The eagle point had people who were already waiting and imagine our glee when they flew past. Ample signages available to direct people clearly. Wonderful!
It’s a nice adventure walk, not recommended for kids as some area still muddy and there are few dangerous sign for crocodiles. Go with friend is highly recommended. Im lucky enough to spot monitor lizzard. The shuttle bus is only during Sat/Sun, weekdays may require long walk as the nearest bus stop is not open.
Great wet land reserve, all amenities are good Great views ,
I guess we cannot cycle there , got vending machines, water dispenser etc.
Mobile network will be switching to Malaysian network roaming sometimes
Enjoy the nature walking along the coastal trail. I think NParks did a fantastic job. It is a nice place for photographer.
Very nice nature reserve. If you have not been there, it is worth to go with family and friends. You can get to see crocodiles and many local animals.
Worth a visit if you're a nature lover. Free entry, there is a shuttle service to & fro from Kranji MRT. Was lucky day able to meet a rarest one (croc).
Nice place to hike and be close to nature. Suitable for children and the elderly. If you are lucky, you can spot snakes, crocodiles, bats, lizards and many types of wild birds along the way!
Nice place for leisure trekking and sight seeing. The place not too humid and accessible easily by public bus 925M as well as Car (have 3 parkit spots).
A bit out of the way but we'll worth it. Plenty of shelter near car parks. Walks are well laid out. Saw a lot of wildlife.
The Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve a reputable wetland reserve that attracts many migratory birds and a vast variety of biodiversity.
Beautiful scenery expected in a place of nature inhabited by certain species of wildlife such as snakes, iguanas, monkeys, wild boars, etc.
The place is actually nice, and the hike is quite easy. Im just worried about the wildlife... too wild for me thus giving 4 stars
Peaceful & good scenery. Great place to walk or run.. Suitable for all ages group.. Strongly recommend.
Lovely, but as of Feb 23 2022, a section was closed for works so you couldn't walk from one visitor center to the other without going back to the road and walking a few minutes there. It's not a game changer but good to know before you go.
Put on a pair of comfortable trekking shoes. Put on some mosquito repellent and sunblock. Slowly walk and explore the nature here has to offer. You might spot a snake or two, and the monitor lizards are very near the footpath.
My daughter saw several otters over there.
Lots of wildlife . A must to visit. Bring own water and snacks if needed. No shops available
Nice place for a stroll to catch some wildlife. If u’re lucky, u’ll get to spot the buffy fish owl near the entrance.
Wonderful place with plenty of fresh air, birds, spiders, bats, flowers and sometimes you see crocodiles.
Enjoyed the walk very much. Every group maintained safe distancing which is very considerable.
the weather is really hot though!! and you’ve to wear your mask still while trekking.
nice chill place to trek and take photos. signs are quite clear. toilet relatively clean also. easy to find bus stops as well.
Excellent place for a great outing with family. Great environment, clean & quiet place to rest and relax.
Love this place even it is far without a car!! Such a beautiful park. Well designed.
Quite empty... Good for bird viewing and bird shooting. Better go in the early morning to avoid hot sun.
New coastal boardwalk takes 1 hr 20 mins to walk to the old boardwalk. Shady walk. Beautiful view. May go into overseas roaming at some point
Lots of wildlife in the area. Can see crocodiles and various birds
Fantastic nature reserve. A very good spot to observe the mangrove habitat. Well done, NEA!
Shelter before entering wetlands.
No wifi available. Some vending machines. Cafe wasn’t open.
Nice wetland for hikes, but avoid on weekends especially on Sundays. Very crowded.
If you have nothing to do, go out and relax. This is a large wetland park with various birds, insects, sea creatures, and animals like crocodiles and otters. It will take your 2 hours to walk through the whole reservoir.
This place is totally free to enter and open every day. The last entry time is around 6 pm. I'll recommend you wear sneakers, sun protection, and long-sleeved clothes to prevent sunburn. Apart from that, you can bring an umbrella too, you know ya, this is Singapore, haha.
Quick a nice walk. There are forest walk that is cooler. Costal walk is nice as well.
It was a great and interesting outing with many of our church members.
Pack your own food if you use to be hungry. There is no food available and the vending machine might run out of items. It is a bit crowded on public holidays. Apart from them, it is a great park.
Woo.. good place for family's outing in nature walk 🐊🐦🦎🐟🦀🐌🐛🐜🐝🕷️🕸️🌳🌱🌿🍂🍃
Best for nature lovers and photographers who love shooting wild life both land and sea.
What a wonderful place. It has lots of natural animals and insects.
Place for the people who likes to go for trails and explore forest.
Great place to have some peace of mind and get close to nature.
Very good. Nice place! Recommended to those pre nuptials venue. 😉😊
Safe place for Nature Walk, with Ranger guiding around...
Very clean and beautiful place to exercise and family activities... cheers
Very fun. Totally enjoyed our walk here.
Close to nature. View birds, mangrove swamps, the sea etc. God's creation is wonderful.
Nice place to hang out with family and friends. Transportation need to be improved
Great place to learn more about mangroves, plants and nature; there are two major walks, one a broad walk through mangroves and a larger walk; there is also a new walk from the old carpark to the new carpark.
Very beautiful place for walking and hiking. We enjoyed our 10kms long walk of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.
Nice walking trails ... shady trees and excitement.
Had been there in the past and comparing with it the place had gotten bigger but seem to be harder to spot wildlife. But the overall experience was still good.
Solid Wetland with bird watching. Some say crocodile and monitor lizard. Saw monkeys and eagles too.
Good place to unwind, relax and be one with nature. lots of migrators birds during Dec-Feb
Eagle point give a nice vantage point of Johor and the mangroves. The spikes in the shallows add character to the structure.
Very nice fauna & flora and protected place of S'pore
Highly recommended!
Good for young and old. Plenty of walking. It like going into a forest with the presence of some wild lives and migratory birds. The trails are well paved. I was here a few years ago. It's much better now. For the young they will learn more about mangroves swarm. Parking is of no problem. I saw some private buses provide transport to and fro to Kranji MRT at a small fee.
Recommended that you bring your children to this place.
This one of my favourite places to hike. A place filled with rich biodiversity as I wander through the wetlands I can see extensive stretch of mangrove forest.
There's a good trek through this ecological forest and you can discover its native inhabitants such as mudskippers, crabs, shellfish, water snakes, birds, spiders, monitor lizards and otters. Happy hiking everyone. Cheers
A natural reserved place that suitable for family and friends to hang out, exercise and to appreciate natural life. Excited to treasure hunt, observe for migratory birds, inserts, reptiles, etc. Beware of crocodile and other wildlife animals as they are not inside the cage or barrier, try not to disturb their living environment. Let's do our part to protect the nature and create a harmonious ecological environment.
A great place for a weekend breakaway. Suitable for young kids, but you'll have to be extra careful especially some part of the park literally is by the sea, swarm and traps. There are swarm crocodiles here but I have never encountered one. Lots of wildlife such as crabs, spiders mossy, lizards and birds. A great place for casual photography as well.
Great views and a nice place to walk around. Definitely will return.
One of the favorite places. Full of plants and fresh air
One of the very few quiet nature reserve left in Singapore. In this island, there are hardly any places left untouched by the concrete jungle of Singapore.
Not sure if this place is "artificially" planted or have been left as it is since Singapore started to develop, but the place feels very quiet! Beware of the dark though as there are no lights in the reserve (good, it's for protecting the animals habitat and not spoiling their night body clock too).
Park closes I think at 7pm-7.30pm, so better be at the exit by then!
Delightful visit and helpful staff (Anthony(?)) told us what to do where to go and that a link path to the mangrove section was being renovated until March 2022. Still had a great time admiring the plants, animals, pavilions and the short strait dividing us from Malaysia and specially, Johor Bahru.
Always something new to see depending on weather and season. Nice information centre at the beginning and info points around the paths. Easy terrain for the most part and often able to see the resident crocs in the river!
Probably its because of covid but I wish they provide more staff and more display to explain local flora and fauna. Diversity of birds and plants are extensive here , why dont we make kids friendly display for a little bit of education area that is cool and informative.
The visitor centre is filled with preserved creatures that are native to the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Definitely not to be missed! It's quite an open-eyeing experience seeing the wide range of collections it has and learning the rich biodiversity of the wetland reserve.
Nice place to go for a walk but they should do more about over crowding during public holidays esp when their foot paths are so narrow.
This is the entrance to Kranji Coastal Nature Park. There is a building with restrooms and air conditioning. There are lockers, but they were broken.
Among the many parks in Singapore, this one in the northernmost end is the wildest and least touristy.
It's beautiful to immerse yourself in a real forest with the possibility of seeing crocodiles, flying squirrels, large lizards and passing from areas thick with trees, to other swampy ones and even flowery ones.
The wooden stations on which you can climb to enjoy a unique view are very nice. Highly recommended even if a little far away.
A wetland with beautiful scenery and rich ecosystem, worth visiting
Wetland Park is a good place to observe ecology, with learning significance. It is suitable for children, not suitable for running. The location is relatively remote and the traffic is not friendly.
A wonderful place to spend some time in Singapore... We hiked for almost 4 hours through the mangroves and the rest of the park... Very beautiful and everything was free
It is still under construction. Take a walk in the morning and noon to enjoy the sea breeze. There are a lot of mosquitoes at night, so it’s best not to go.
Because it is an ecological environment protection zone, there are many mosquitoes. Remember to bring mosquito repellent patches.
Introducing the history of wetlands and species development can help you better understand nature.
If you love the natural world this is the best place in Singapore. Want to se a Saltwater crocodile? Check. Hornbills? Check. Snake, your covered. And my favorite, the Mud Hopper. Located on the Asian Pacific Flyway the birding is spectacular. I love this place.
