Reviews of Tanjong Pagar Teo Chew Fishball Noodle
One of the best Bak Chor Mee I’ve had! Everything - the minced meat, ingredients, fish balls, sauce, were so flavourful and authentic.
First time to visit this food centre sitting on a wet market, on Tanjong Pagar Road.
Long queue during lunch hour - meaning good or cheap food, or both. I ordered take away: Signature noodles and meat ball soup. Service was fast and efficient considering the number of customers standing in queue.
For the signature noodles, I ordered kway tiao soup which including various toppings including fish balls, meatballs, fishcakes slices fish dumplings. Taste of the soup was typical Teo chew style but slightly sweet meaning either combined MSG doses is high or sugar added; the noodles rice noodles were smooth. Other ingredients were good, tasty and bouncy in texture; meat balls (fish meat balls to be exact) had good texture and tasty. Judging from the topping ingredients, the fish balls, meat balls, fish cakes are not likely to be mass produced in factory.
Will return for both dry and soup the fish ball and minced meat Mee Pok (dry version).
Stay tone.
Great bowl of teochew fishballs (5 varieties) at regular price $5. Crunchy sprouts, real spicy chilli and biggie soup. Nice presentation with mince meat toppings. Kinda MSG but love the un-usual mee kia (looks like thin mee pok) one of the sai-toh fish ball rare and delicious too. Always a queue but fast moving due to hard working duo team. Friendly neighborhood atmosphere in CBD market.
Ordered a so call signature fish balls noodles. Like their chillis mixed. The fish balls are probably hand made? Special meat balls & dumplings are normal. The flat noodles are over cooked, become soggy. Soup is sweet. $4.20 for a bowl is consider above average. Not sure why the need of $0.20.
Huge bowl of noodles filled with ingredients for $5.50. The noodles texture was great, springy and tasty.
Excellent bowl of noodles at the heart of town. Have stopped eating fishballs since I was a kid. But I finally found a nice fishball stall that makes me wanna eat fishballs again!!
The noodles was very very good. His handmade her giao, fisballs, meatballs and fishballs with chillies are bouncy and delicious. Besides, you can get a bowl at $3.50 or $4.50 for a bowl of fishballs noodles (without minced pork). His signature dish comes with minced pork and everything which costs $4.50. I suggest getting the signature dish. Really cheap and value for money
Ate kuay tiao & mee noodle. Tasty and the fish balls are nice. Decent portions for $4 in today's context.
By all means, this is a very nice authentic bowl of Teochew fishball noodles. It has its regular flow of customers. I was a regular when I was working in this area 10+ years ago. Came back here and this stall is still around! I cannot recognise if the owners have changed though. I'm a sucker for fishball noodles. And I would have loved for the base sauce to be thicker and be able to cover reach strand of the noodles. But it didn't. That's probably the only reason why I didn't give a 5 star. The highlight of this dish is the soup with its crunchy balls!
Great noodles! I eat it almost every day
Signature Noodles (Dry) $5
Tastes great overall with good amount of ingredients. Wouldn't queue long for it though.
Fishball noodles were OK.
When I arrived there around noon, the big pot of laksa curry was almost finished. I got the large portion and it was too much for me to finish
Nice bowl of Teochew noodles!
Very good fishballs and noodles.
Mee pok, springy noodles with a delightful chew, bouncy fish balls, flavourful broth – a delicious and satisfying meal! Just ordered the $5 version . Soup can give more if possible very delicious.
