It has been a good experience to learn the techniques of alteration from TaF.tc trainer Allan Tan. He had been very patient and explained very clearly on the techniques to those who have no experience in sewing at all. I fully recommend those who have the interest to do alteration on clothes to be trained by Allan

I've just recently completed the Basic Drafting and Sewing course at TaF.tc conducted in a virtual classroom. The pandemic has certainly changed all our lives and I was very impressed with how the course was delivered by our instructor Alan Tan. I was initially very skeptical about attending a virtual course which was traditionally delivered in a classroom environment but was very impressed after the 1st class. Alan was very engaging and the classes were very well paced and structured. definitely encourage people to sign up if they are interested to learn the fundamentals of sewing and pattern drafting. And I hope they TaF.tc continue with the virtual course delivery as it is definitely great for students who are working full time and still wanted to learn over weekend of after working hours. So many good things to review about TaF.tc's sewing branch... Knowledge and depth: TaF.tc's courses were extremely helpful in widening my knowledge and giving me confidence to do my own drafting, sewing, alterations and caring for all types of fabrics including getting rid of stubborn stains. I also learnt about merchandising and marketing, which helps in understanding the whole fashion industry's supply chain. I have taken 2 Advanced Certificate courses with them (Advanced Certificate in Fashion Technology - Apparel Design and Product Development/Merchandising and Marketing) and now am in their AlterAround intake. I found all their courses very useful in my daily life. They really help students to make career shifts. The trainers are very knowledgeable with tons of real world experience and connections, and they give you real hands-on sewing practices equipped with 1-to-1 student ratio of industrial grade sewing machines. After these courses, I can now confidently do sewing and alterations for myself and others from the comfort of my home! Cost, Location and Welfare: The skillsfuture credits make the courses affordable and accessible to industry standard classes. Not many of such courses are available in Singapore and at such a good location! I also love how they know that students are working adults, and have suitable course timetables, little snacks, coffee/tea and pop-up tables to grab a quick dinner. Very thoughtful. 🥰 I'm always on a lookout for new courses that interest me!

I took up this course with zero knowledge in sewing and took a Long time to join the class because I thought I won’t be able to make it through but the learning journey was amazing..I’ve learnt a lot during this class and very happy to have sewn an outfit for myself for the very first time. TaFtc has a fantastic platform for anyone young or not so young wishing to learn a skill in drafting and sewing. Videos and ebooks are easily accessible. Business consultants are always on hand to offer assistance and to answer any queries registering for courses. The instructor I had for my basic course was Ms Jennifer Chan, who showed tremendous patience teaching students with varying levels of proficiency. At the completion of my basic course, I can’t wait to sign up for more courses and enhance my skills further so that I can put them to good use in future. Update: Aug 2022, I completed a heritage apparel course with Jennifer Chan. Her passion in cheongsam making showed through in her teaching, very thorough and meticulous, patient and she explained every step clearly and slowly. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher.

I have been learning sewing from TaF.tc since 2020.. I’ve learned a lot of sewing skills from various trainer. The most recent course that I have attended was Streetwear- Track pants. This is the first time I am handling Knit Fabrics. It was very challenging for me partly due to my hand injury, however, our trainer was very helpful and patience with me. He provided me with mental support and encouraged me to do it slowly etc. He constantly checked on me to ensure I am able to follow up and assist me to complete my project on time. Honestly, it is not easy to find good trainers but TaF.tc has many good and experience trainers and willing to transfer their knowledge to their students. That is also one reason why I like the school and enjoy all the courses I attended. I am glad I have selected TaF.tc as my sewing school. I am looking forward for my upcoming courses. I joined this institute to take training in Sewing and to be in the fashion industry. Took several courses: •AlterAround program, •Diploma in Apparel Design & Product Development •Draft and Sew Jackets •Draping •Basic Drafting and Sewing •Intermediate Drafting and sewing •Drafting and sewing Dresses & More!!! My overall experience is very good. The course structure and preparation are good but would recommend doing their basic and intermediate course on campus for an person whom is immature to sewing. The knowledge given by the trainers is very helpful to me & during training, they solve thought related the topic. Trainers: Alen Tan's knowledge is excellent and he’s very patient when teaching. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gini is very patient when teaching, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jennifer is very skillful very generous in sharing her knowledge with others goes the extra mile to teach students. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After taking these courses I got useful knowledge and have gained experience. They don’t mind teaching beyond their needs. They share their knowledge and experience at the same time customer service: Amira- she’s great, she goes the extra mile to help with the changes in your schedule. Ben- is always helpful, can get things done very fast. Finally, I would love to do more courses from TaF.tc hopefully they come out with more new courses related to more sewing in menswear.

My class of 23 participants has a main trainer & 2 assistant teachers which I find very good coz they help us when we have problem online an also the fitting with pins guiding us along. Trainer Alan Tan is very professional and he is very clear in his explanation giving practical examples. He also encourages participation by asking questions to test our understanding. I also like it that Taftc sent us the ebook and notes to read before lesson starts - very helpful. Great that they also create a group chat to inform us about class and what to do before class sending us link on how to submit our work thru Talent Lms platform, link on how to access ebook. I had take sew class at another school before but I must say I am impressed with Taftc and am glad I signed up here.

The trainers here, both in the sewing modules and the academic ones are experienced veterans who are not selfish with their wisdom. Their teaching methods are clear and thorough. Edited: finally got in touch with Garrick and was able to book classes with his help. I also finished a class already ans enjoyed the teaching approach and activities! Would recommend their courses however they need to better their registration / enrolment flow. Literally have been calling them everyday and whatsapp-ing them across multiple numbers (official one from website, dominic tan, nurul shahidah, Instagram DM) to which no one responds/ picks up. I have questions about upcoming courses and am looking to get them answered before I commit to them financially. Plus running into technically issues like not being able to receive my SMS OTP pin when I log into the student portal but lack of support there. Quite disappointing considering I went to one of their open houses and had a good experience. It doesn't seem like they care about potential students. Update: Sha just referred me to Garrick on whatsapp to which also no response. Maybe you guys can actually share an expectation of when I'd be able to hear back instead of just leaving me hanging?

I took Misawa Master class for both men and ladies’ shoes making. Misawa is a great teacher although he doesn’t speak fluent English. His knowledge and experience in shoe making is very impressive. He has definitely brought shoe making to a whole new level. To him, shoe making is more like an art. He is super creative. I learnt a great deal from him and now I can appreciate bespoke shoes better and it’s definitely worth the hefty price tag. There are some technical hiccups in the IT area and hence the 4 star rating. However, the staff tried their best to solve the issue.

After attending the Basic, Intermediate, Dress, Alteration and just recently finished the Jacket course - from barely able to sew a zip 6 months ago -- I can now sew blouses, pants, dresses and a jacket!!! Thoroughly enjoyed all the Zoom and on campus courses...Thanks to the awesome trainers - Yixin, Alan, Melvin...and TafTc admin for their assistance. After attending IAT and AAT class, alteration of garment in my mind has changed from scary to confidence. Such as take in shoulder, shortening shirt cuff or tightening jacket sleeves with lining, trim seam of skirt etc. I can do it immediately now instead of previously that is to put it aside or look and see later.
