Reviews of Toa Payoh Lor 5 Mushroom Mince Meat Noodle #01-39
Traditional minced meat noodle done well. Queued 20min on a Friday morning for it. Noodle was done Al-dente and has a nice springy texture. Vinegar taste not too overpowering, just nice to enhance the flavor. Soup was eggy with dumplings and some flat wonton. I was given a nice piece of pork trotter with the noodle. I’m happy.
Super long queue as always -2 for waiting
Now they get a young chap to help
Probably the son…
There’s a nasty guy who was queuing behind me and kept sitting down and then his silly slippers clashed into my clean knees whilst we were all standing.. how he survived army i wonder
Anyway back to the noodles…
Springy 7/10
Taste 8.5/10
Flavour 8/10
Chilli 8/10
Overall 8.2/10
Their mushroom noodles have gotten better after pandemic and also have raising their price which is a whopping $5 now
Can’t they charge $3.50 or $4.00?
Popularity = high charges in petite bourgeoisie Singapore.. a la meme chose! Troi oi
Look at my noodle shot - super awesome 9/10
noodles were cooked al dente and springy, ingredients given were of generous amounts for the 'small bowl' option. it is also vinegary to cover the alkaline taste but its not too overpowering. soup was also surprisingly seasoned well too.
will come back to try the soup alternative ~
Good flavours from the $7 signature set, especially the vinegar in noodles. But the dish lacked ingredients - just one piece of pig trotters and mushroom slices. The soup was mainly dumplings.
Quality ingredients immersed in a rich and flavourful broth, served noodles tossed in a delightful combination of vinegar and chilli. I could go on, but you need to try this.
