Reviews of Top 1 Home Made Noodle
Auntie is really good at upselling 😂 first time here didn’t know what to order, paid $21 for 3 bowls with add ons, not cheap but not expensive also.
The noodles itself was super nice and chewy, sadly they didn’t have the MeeHoonKuey noodles at 1.30pm on a Sunday. It was very flavourful but we all found it really salty 😮💨 the tomyam soup was nice, tastes like chilli crab when you add the egg. Would come back to eat the tomyam if no queue haha.
honestly I don’t think I’d come back and queue again for this unless you live nearby or you’re bringing foreign friends to try, as it is one of the better noodles in singapore. Pls note it is Hard to find table also
Ordered dry ban Mian add fish slices with no egg topping for $7. The taste is good, but the wait is long; had to wait for 30 minutes. Will only go when there's less queue.
Ordered:
- 1 x Dry Ban Mee with Chili and Dark Sauce
- 1 x Tom Yum Yi Mee with Prawns
Total: $12
I preferred the dry ban mee; the chili was spicy and blended well with the dark sauce. The prawns in the Tom Yum Yi Mee were big, but the broth was too sweet for my liking. The queue on a Sunday lunch was too long, but I would revisit if the crowd is smaller.
Best dry noodles 干捞板面 💯 The noodles are homemade and al dente, the dark soy sauce is fragrant, and the chilli sauce is fire. Chinese style sambal so good I sometimes buy a tiny tub of it for home. I've eaten this many times and the noodles have been consistently amazing. Real food made with heart. The owners have always made me feel welcomed. This stall is an absolute gem.
Of course the best time for it is at off-peak hours, just before the lunch/dinner crowd for example.
Solid dry ban mian (dark sauce + soup on point) but for the location and everlasting long lines it’s probably not always worth the dedicated trip down.
Cash only.
Long Queue, ordered $5 dry ban mian. Although a small table spoon of chilli paste, it's very potent. Enjoyable experience when eating.
Meats and condiments are comforting.
Next time I will order a larger portion the next time.
There are quite a few variations of the ingredients to accompany the noodles and one can have it either with soup or dry. There is also a choice of different noodles, too.
I would recommend dry as the dark sauce and chilli sauce taste great.
I do feel that less or zero MSG will be appreciated.
Try this famous home made noodle stall in beauty world shopping centre.the waiting for weekday about 10 to 15 mins to order, a queue number will be given. The waiting time for the food to cook and collection take another 15 to 20 mins. If weekend for sure the waiting time will be longer. I order a soup bao mian adding extra fish maw total amount $7.50, the soup is sweet and tasty.
Only feedback are the portion is abit small for guy. I will visit again to try dry version.
Located in Beauty World Centre, top floor hawker.
This stall has long queue everytime, and it takes a while to get your food.
You queue to make payment and get a number. Once the number lights up, it is your turn to collect the food.
Wait was about 30min during a weekday afternoon.
They sell handmade noodles here, just like their stall name suggests.
Top #1 is debatable, but I do think they can contest for that position.
Noodles are extremely tasty, yet affordable.
Noodles are thick, and the soup is very eggy and addictive. I got the flat noodles like what you see in my picture.
For sure worth the try!!! The long queue is worth it!
An ordinarily good pan mee place with long queues. Went on a weekend to queue for 30 mins to order and another 7 mins for food to be served. The chili sauce that came with the dried noodles can be very spicy. Soup broth is quite good with a lot of ingredients.
One of the best handmade noodles in Sg! Good chewy noodles with flavourful soup and just the right amount of ingredients most importantly the egg was cooked perfect (not too hard and w/o breaking). Wait was around 20 mins..found a fly inside my noodles towards the end🤐
I have over 10+ years of experience at eating wide varieties of local hawker food on a weekly basis. I dare to say, this shop has the best Ban Mian soup in Singapore. You can trust me
Their Tom Yam soup tastes very unique and is personally my favourite. Their Dan Lao mian with Maggie mee tastes amazing as well
The auntie is super friendly and makes you want to come back. 5/5
The queue to order is pretty long, however the waiting for the food was still okay. Queued for about 30 minutes and waited 15 minutes for the food. First time trying, so we ordered the dry handmade noodle + egg.
Total of $10 for two bowls. If you want to add chilli separately, $0.30 per saucer.
By default it has meatball and minced meat.
Ordered the $6 soup version of prawn mee hoon kueh, kueh texture is good, broth is flavourful and prawn is fresh, added 30 cents for the blended chilli spice level is shiok but think it’s matches better with dry version
Tried the dried handmade noodles on a weekend morning. Comes with a bowl of soup, without a doubt I would say it’s better than the average handmade noodles. Nice touch of black sauce with their chilli and their noodles aren’t soggy. Even though it’s still a decent bowl of handmade noodles, it doesn’t make me want to queue for 30 60 minutes just for this.
Yummy banmian. Both dry and soup versions are good, but I personally like the spicy version of the dry banmian most. Their chilli is really good. The youmian and banmian are good, but I find the meehoonkueh a bit average. During peak hours, the queue can be quite long.
Fantastic bowl of dry ban mian. Stall opens at 11, we started queuing at 11, and I received my food at 11.30+ so it’s definitely worth queuing. Would highly advice coming early!
Overall the bowl of noodles is fragrant, noodles are chewy and soup is so yummy too
Got constant Q. For $5 min. order, noodle and ingredrients are little. Ordered dry. Seasonings of noodle and broth are nice but Mee Hoon Kuey is too thick and not cooked well enough and they stick together
my all time fave banmian stall. Always order the dry version, their homemade chilli & dark sauce combi is heavenly! But most people will find their chilli too spicy so can request to put at the side to self mix. Also sometimes the queue can get really long during lunch hours or weekends. towards dinner time, it is better to call in to check if they are still open as the closing hour is subjected to their food availability. nevertheless, still my number 1 always
Such a generous serving of ingredients. The prawns are huge and fresh. Fish not batang which I like more, not a deal breaker for me. Overall, this stall offers value for money noodle which is v nice & homey. Not too salty...the kind that I like. Will be back to try more
I have been visiting this store since I was a child, and I would definitely say that they serve the best ban mian in the whole of Singapore. I especially love their dry ban mian, and their soup is really delicious with no MSG at all. The queue during lunch time is always long but it is definitely worth the wait!
Ordered the small bowl and as it turns out, the portion was tiny! The soup here is light and refreshing, while the anchovies are delicious! The noodles however were nothing amazing. Would advise people to come during the non-peak hours to avoid the queue which lasted an hour for me!
Very good home made noodle. Queue was quick enough that is very systematic unlike some other hawkers tidak apa altitude in chinatown hawker center especially. I like the dry version and with just a tinge bit of chilli, covered by the slightly sweet dark soya sauce. Ordered the fish as the ingredient.
Waited about 15 mins in line and another 10 mins after ordering for a dry ban mian. Very tasty ban mian and soup. Portion is a bit small compared to other ban mian places but I think this is very good quality. Come early for lunch or in the afternoon as there’s a queue around 5.30pm too (shorter than lunch crowd)
Amazing dry ban mian here! Love the bite and chewiness in the noodles, the delicious sauce (give it a good mix before eating!), and definitely the spicy chilli 😍 the whole dish was so tasty and satisfying.
Arrived around 1020 and they officially started serving at 1045+. Great to be the first customer of the day as the queue started at 1030 😂😂😂 tried the fish ban mian dry version, the chilli is good. Good try!
The best, I can really say the best ever ban mian I have eaten! I really love ban mian a lot and tried many different ban mian in Singapore and nothing beats this!
The noodles texture was great, the mince meat was very flavorful, and the fish was very fresh!
The queue is always long but it is definitely worth the wait!
Weekly lunch meal since childhood.
My favourite handmade noodle in singapore. Chilli is really awesome, which also can be bought. Expect 15 mins wait for the noodles
Top 1 Home Made Noodle holds a special place in my heart as my ultimate go-to stall for exquisite noodle delights. Despite the inevitable queue, the wait is undoubtedly worthwhile. Offering selection up to 8 distinct noodle varieties, from thin strands to thicker cuts, this multi-generational establishment has consistently delivered impeccable quality.
One of their standout dishes, Dry Noodle aka (Gan Lao Mian) stands as my personal favorite. Its chewy noodles bathed in a tantalizing combination of rich dark sauce and spicy chili create an explosion of flavors on the palate. The addition of premium toppings prawns, fish, and abalone elevates the experience to an unparalleled level of indulgence.
While the queue might seem daunting, the freshness of the soup speaks volumes about their commitment to quality. For anyone yet to savor the delights of this noodle haven, it's a must-visit destination. Top 1 Home Made Noodle is not just a stall, it's an experience that seamlessly blends tradition with culinary excellence. Prepare to be captivated by the harmonious marriage of chewy noodles, exquisite flavors, and premium toppings
Anyone have not tried it go for it you will love it for sure!
Best handmade noodles in sg in my opinion. They're famous for their dried noodles with dark sauce and super spicy chilli. Very delicious and well worth the queue.
The dry ban mian is great. The dark sauce with hint of white pepper went well with the noodles though the meat was quite little. The soup tasted like clams were added in for flavour.
Handmade noodles with reasonable price and great flavour!! Worth the try if you are around Bukit Timah area! Located at Beauty world Centre food centre which is on the highest floor.
Overrated, taste so so only. Doesn’t deserve to wait for 40mins.
11/11/18
Long queue is expected for this stall.
The noodle, soup and minced pork is tasty.
Felt that for a price of $5, there are very few ingredients.
Really satisfying ban mian with a bite, coming from a picky KL eater. The dry and spicy version can be quite spicy! The soup version looks legit - will aim for that with mee hoon kway next round.
Very flavourful soup they have. Must try if you are at Beauty World Hawker Centre!
Went during off peak hours and tried their Ban Mian with Meat Balls and Fish Maw. The noodle is chewy the way it should be. The black sauce that goes with it is tasty. The chilli is just the right amount that it doesn't ruin the dish. The meat balls & fish maw are nothing to shout about. The dish costs S$8.00 that maybe is expensive to some, but I think it is worth trying.
Hands down the best tastiest soup I ever had in a bowl of ban mian!! Slurped down to the last drop. The noodles were also perfectly cooked to the right bite. Worth the queue in my opinion. Come early and be the first few customers at the stall if you don’t want to queue for too long :)
Really Top 1! They have a range of noodles, toppings and soup bases to choose from. Both the banmian and the regular soup base were show-stoppers; the noodles tasted fresh and springy, the broth was rich, and portions were overall very decent. Queues had always deterred me from trying this store in the past, but I have to say that the wait was worth it. The auntie taking orders was lovely and pleasant too despite the ever-growing crowd. Already planning my next visit.
Chewy u-mian with dark sauce and chilli that packed a slight kick. The soup was pretty nice and was slightly more viscous than water.
The minced pork balls were tasty seeing that the meat was well marinated. However the factory made pork balls were nothing special.
Overall, while the dish was pretty nice, I don't think it's worth waiting more than 15 mins.
Not a bad place for a bowl of flavourful handmade noodles. It's really spicy. Do be wary, if you cant handle it. Also note, they are closed for repainting works thru out the whole of oct till 31st. Not sure when they will reopen though.
Been here couple times and tried dry, tom yum, and mala with various noodles. Our fav is the dry u-mian that comes with nice thick full flavored soup side. The tom yum and mala is not yr traditional ones so don't expect it. Tom yum was thick on the sweet side and not that spicy w/o the sourness. Mala was spicer but tolerable with no sichuan pepper or any heavy chili's so no numbing, etc.. The heat is reserved for the hommamde chile which is indeed quite spicy w/o being salty - a must for the spice purest and those who want the extra punch. Noodles are cooked al dente and ok just don't let it sit too long in the soup. Overall not worth waiting in line for but worth a try on a quiet day.
Very good noodles and soup. Highly recommend. Got the big prawns as well, and they were very fresh and delicious.
Tried the dry ban mian and the soup u mian, both were very good.
My favourite dry ban mian! Flavourful and I really like the chili. I usually add abalone slices.
Be prepared to queue! But they’ll give you a number so you can go find a table or buy other things while waiting.
Must try!! Consistently good handmade noodles in the West! Take note that they have their lunch break between 2:30-4:30 pm!
Best noodle stall in Singapore and reasonably priced.
Tried the giant prawns dry noodles. Prawns are very fresh and the noodles are cooked perfectly.
came on a weekday late afternoon, no queue, ordered both the dry and soup version to try. taste was ok but nothing fantastic, both version abit too salty for my liking, can try if there’s no queue.
A regular old time hawker center in BeautyWorld Center L4 non AC… THIS IS A MUST Q and eat Ban Mien and I think this is like the 👑 or 👸 whichever you like to call of local homemade noodles especially the “mee hoon kuey” Many people makes and sell this noodle but Top1 excels them all! 5+1 ⭐️ the plus1 is for having President Elect Tharman picture posted there 😊 Yup Top noodle served to Top civil servant and top politician and soon Top of the Top President 🇸🇬 Perhaps one day you may just shake the President’s hands at this Top1 Noodle Stall 👏 🥇 COME la!
Beware! The Q is long and once you have ordered. They will issue you a number slip, indicating the time of you have ordered.
I have ordered the dry version of the mee, the noodle is nice and chewy. The black sauce is rich and savory. The soup wise is pepperish and yet surprisingly flavourful.
Lastly, the chilli is a BOMB. Is spicy and shiok! I have separately bought the chilli as well at sgd 6.00. It definitely goes well with everything:) Overall, I will revisit again
Is a simple and yet satisfying dish.
Mayb it's just me, but the noodle is very tasty...i ate the dry noodle, the dark sauce is nice, the chilli is nice but very spicy (ask for less spicy if u can't take much spiciness)...the soup has this wooden smell, i dun know how to describe, it's very nice...my personal taste
Although the wait can be long at times, this dry ban mian with chilli is one of the best in Singapore and is worth the wait. Thanks to the auntie for her good service all these years too
Honestly best meal you can find in this entire hawker centre. Chilli is solid and the dry noodles is ridiculously addictive
My all time favourite Mee Hoon Kway stall! The ingredients are so fresh and the soup is yummylicious. The chili is da bomb too!
Food is good and very comforting but be prepared for a very, very long wait. Do not be deceived by a short (or none existent) queue. Believe me, there IS a queue even if it can't be seen
Expect a minimum 20 minute wait during lunch/dinner. This stall is busier than the rest of the food centre combined. Really good handmade noodles.
Simply the best ban mian in Singapore!! Chilli sauce is superb! Soup is even better!!
Best in SG!
Handsome brother cook and nicest aunty.
I REALLY LOVE THE BANMIAN! Worth the wait. Definitely a 5 star!
Soup was so good! friendly service!!!
The dry ban mian is god like, this is one of my favourite ban mian.
Delicious home make cuisine with good servicing.
Amazing and delicious bowl of noodles must try!
