Reviews of Whitley Road Big Prawn Noodle
Had always enjoyed their Prawn Noodle. Located within Old Airport road Hawker centre. The soup was veri savoury and not too salty. Ingredients like Prawn were fresh. You can enjoy the chewy prawn meat. Price was slightly higher for hawker standard. But you paying for quality noodle with fresh ingredients. Worth it. Stall, queue, ordering system well maintained and orderly. Lady taking the order was patience and friendly. Food served was fast despite during crowded lunch hour.
I ordered the 3 in 1, medium size cos I'm a heavy eater haha.
Contains prawns (reasonably large size), pork ribs (more bony than meaty) and pig liver (nice and al dente cooked just nicely chewy not over cooked).
Overall good taste for the dry version tossed with chili and crispy shallot bits.
Soup is hearty and flavourful. Sedap!
Recommended to try if you are at Old Airport Road FC, a bit expensive but worth it.
No queue at close to 2pm, auntie was quite friendly and helpful when taking orders.
Oily bowl of noodles , soup is concentrate and very umami. Not a big fan of the chilli oil. 2 big prawns are big and fresh. Your slightly above average bowl.
$:Below S$15. Prawn was big and very good tender pork rib. I like this pork rib very much. So I recommend to order Big Prawn Pork Rib noodle. Soup was also good. But dry noodle was a bit oily for me. I prefer less oil noodle.
Noodles taste and feel like its from the factory. Could have cooked it a little more to soften it. Just 1 prawn and a small portion of outsourced noodles for $5. Wonder how much lesser would be the $4.50 bowl option. Nothing special really.
Ordered the dry Prawn noodles. Medium sized, with beehoon and yellow noodles.
Unexpected to wait so long even after having my order taken.
Noodles were overly oily and their soup lacked the depth of flavour. But their homemade chili was good and the prawns itself were well cooked. Could have eaten the chili with plain rice.
Better ones out there at the same price. Probably won't come back.
Certainly is 5 stars for the quality, however, for $8.50 per bowl with only 3 HALF prawns + noodles, I would say is pricy. So for the Quality-Price consideration, I give it 4 Stars
Got the $8 bowl of prawn noodle soup. Good size bowl but only 2 prawns. Had a flavorful shrimp broth. Ate it with char kway teow noodles that soaked up brothy flavors, really yummy.
One of my favourite prawn noodles place. The soup so flavourful and very Unami. You can see how thick the soup is. Noodles cook to perfection, not too soft. The unique part is the chilli with the noodle, it’s the hae bee hiam type of chilli. Recommended to go for thick bee Hoon if u don’t like yellow noodles. Prawns are big and have 5-6 for the $12.50 one. Highly recommended! Auntie quite friendly too.
Dined here multiple times and I always ordered the dry kway Teow. It’s tasty but for more flavourful soup please come in the later part of the afternoon. I gave 3 stars because I did notice the dry Chili they used for dry noodle is not as flavourful as it used to be - perhaps cut corner etc. i usually ordered the $10.5 (now) option and the portion is just average.
Not sure why this stall does not have a better rating. I love the tasty broth with tinge of herbal taste. Order the dry bee hoon with chilli. Shiok!
Ordered for takeaway for a Saturday lunch and waiting time is pretty fast. The noodle is great and prawn is fresh but for me, prawn noodle is all about the soup. The soup tastes lacking in prawn taste and probably it's not to my liking. The prawn is fresh but it's quite hard to peel of the skin
The dried noodles had to much chilli oil in it. But the taste of the the soup is very good. Will try the soup noodles in future. The pig tail is soft and tasty.
Tried the soup version. Can taste the seafood goodness in the full bodied soup. Prawns were fresh too. If you don't mind queuing to order followed by another relatively lengthy waiting time. Go for it!
Served good prawns noodle. Choice of big prawns or with bak kut. Patroned by many regulars
Fresh shrimp. soup not much shrimp flavor.
Helping my friend to rate.
A substantial bowl of soup, soup was oily but not a deal breaker, it’s prawn noodles and the soup base is legit.
