Alean & Yao Xiang from CL leasing are very friendly and helpful. Whenever I faced any inevitable issues with their vehicles regarding wear and tear, he would always assist with facilitating on the replacement of any components (blown headlamp, worn out tires) or other unusual situations (check engine light, malfunction lights). Been with Car Lite for 5 years and will continue renting from them.
They have a wide range of cars and their competitive pricing with generally good condition despite their ageing fleet. They are also in the midst of refurnishing their older vehicles which is quite effort imo and they have a very responsive and helpful customer service hotline. It is indeed 24/7 and they are able to solve most of the issues barring those that require office-hour related help.
One of the best carsharing firms out there, and if you prefer a longer-term period then their main branch CL Leasing offers even better vehicles in great condition.
Carlite - My Go-To Choice for Car Rentals in Singapore!
I've always had a great experience with Carlite. Their excellent customer service, especially from Yao Xiang, truly stands out. The cars are consistently well-maintained, and the quality of service has been so reliable that I’ve stopped using other car-sharing services in Singapore.
While Carlite may not be the most well-known name in the market, they’re truly a hidden gem. I recently provided feedback to Yao Xiang about the availability of cars closer to my location. To my surprise and delight, Carlite acted on my suggestion and added a car near my residence. Now, renting a car is even more convenient with one just downstairs!

one of the best rates for renting cars (considering you can book 15min slots instead of having to take a full 1hr when not needed). been using them since start of 2024, recommended by my friends previously.
recently had to deal with some damages caused by third party, roger and his boss really helped out a lot with advising, was patient, accommodating, sincere and cooperative with helping me to work out damage payments and liasing with the third party regarding some claims to be made.
Updates on the following incident.
Car Lite has came back to me the very next day.
All thanks to a very nice spoken staff to have given me a call & had the clarifications made.
He have explained that their admin has wrongly swapped the case of mine with another rental user. During the past weeks, he has also help me to follow up the case closely with HDB till my case is resolved.
Hope that Car Lite can look into measures & means to fix this discrepency, so that rental customers like us can be in a peace of mind that our particulars are being well protected, while we are with them for subsequent rentsl needs.

It has been all along a very good experience to deal with Car Lite for car rental needs & in actual fact, I am a returning customer to Car Lite.
However, I might have a second thought to go to them for any future car rental needs after this incident.
I had a shock that I have received a Red Reminder Mail from HDB today, stating that I have an outstanding Parking Offence that I have not committed & in the letter, I was reported by Car Lite that I am the Rental Driver for the particular Parking Offence at that point of time.
I did a double confirmation on my past rentals via Car Lite apps & I confirmed that I did not have any rental by the stated date. My particulars are being used by Car Lite for this particular parking offence.
I wonder how Car Lite ended up using my particulars for the offence that I did not commit & best part is, without even notify me for further clarification.
It is also obvious that Car Lite have lapses on the administrative aspects for providing wrong particulars & information to HDB & it is causing much inconveniences & distress to me now to prove my innocence to HDB.
I have demanded an explanation from Car Lite & will see how long would they be taken, to get this case resolved & clear my name from that.
Been a Carlite user for 2 years, honestly hands down the best car rental service in Singapore. Very prompt response from service staff whenever I needed assistance and would even go the extra mile to make sure you receive fair treatment. Highly recommended!
Update: Contacted by YaoXiang from carlite to find out more about the car issues and my concerns.
Provided explanation for what happened and how they will send the car for maintenance check the next day.

Had multiple rentals with carlite and 3rd time renting this particular car.
1st time had no issues and customer hotline was very efficient when called and assisted in unlocking car door to retrieve forgotten belongings
2nd time the car seems fine when doing the pre checks however when drove down to petrol station to refuel 5 minutes after starting trip the car battery died and engine was unable to start. Customer service only advise to tow car back to workshop as they are unable to jumpstart the battery at the petrol station. However no alternative car was provided and was forced to booked a nearby GetGo car to continue my trip. Was contacted by a third party towing company and was able to leave the car at the petrol station for pick up.
Furthermore, after some emails back and forth with customer service they finally agree to refund the petrol cost and rental cost, however no compensation was made for lost time or inconvenience as I was on the phone with them for 20 minutes to resolve the issue.
3rd rental was done at the time of this review.
The car had the same problems that was reported by another google review and most of the problems were not resolved despite the previous review being 8 months old.
The car wheel was misaligned and was very shaky while driving, the fuel sensor also seems faulty as despite topping up $15 worth of petrol at 3 bars, it did not go up. However when adding another $5 to a total $20 it went from 3 to 5 bars.
The left rear wheel was also partially deflated upon checking the car and the customer hotline was consulted and they advised to drive to a nearby petrol station to pump up the tyre. The rear wheels were also showing signs of balding with minimal treading.
Brakes are also terrible and not well maintained, does not seem to respond well.
The car also had some minor external damage that was seen on the previous review.
Overall, car lite has some decent cars in their fleet but this car does not seemed to be well maintained with a 2/3 record of having problems. Furthermore, you might have to pay extra for the petrol to hit the minimum return requirements.
I had my car accident about 1 year ago, and I would like to say Carlite had assisted me greatly and efficiently. Specially Roger! As it was my first car accident, I panicked and called Carlite for advise. Roger calmly advised me to lodge police report and followed up with me.
Honest company, and they had returned my third party excess. The procedure was honestly fast too. It took less than 1 month for them to process my payment! Thank you for your help once again!
Car-lite has been a very affordable car sharing rental service that is accessible in many locations. In recent times when an accident occurred, I was fortunate to meet many friendly staffs who aided me in my settlement process. As a new driver who is unfamiliar with what to do in an accident, the staffs helped me to understand the procedures patiently, assisted me by contacting the third party to help reach a reasonable agreement. Both the service from the staff of Carlite and it's affordable carsharing prices is indeed a good deal
Carlite provides the best rental service I have ever experienced.
Their customer service is fantastic, with the 24h hotline always going through. Their customer service reps have always been able to resolve my issues efficiently and effectively. I have made certain reports on the cleanliness of the cars I have picked up, and have gotten a call from them apologising for the issues, and assuring me that they will take the necessary actions against the hirer responsible for the issue, or if it's a maintenance issue, fix it.
I am a regular user of the cars in my neighbourhood, and while I would like to suggest that they add more hybrid and fuel-efficient cars, I have no complaints with the standard of their cars. I appreciate that they did not choose to slap on some obnoxious branding, making you out to other road users as a rental.
Despite the recent increase in prices, I still think that they are a great deal, especially for daily rentals, with rates comparable to traditional rental companies. The daily rental is about $10-$15 more than what a traditional shop might charge, but for the convenience of picking up and returning the car at a carpark near you, I think the price difference is fair.
They are really understanding of some issues you may run into during your rental. I have on multiple occasions had to return the car with less than ¼ tank, as the fuel gauge did not update, despite pumping more than enough petrol. They only needed a photo of my receipt, and as long as you have pumped RON 95 at a rate of 1L/10km travelled, you're good to go.
I recently was on a trip with a friend who rented a car from them, but had to stop by their workshop at WCEGA to fix a flat spot on the rear tyres. They proceeded to swap all 4 tyres and compensated him for the time lost, and they offered to let us rest in their office while waiting for the car to be fixed. We had a good chat with the staff there, and they do seem to be genuine and experienced people.
I have yet to run into any serious or negative issues with Carlite, but I will advise you to still be cautious and take necessary steps to safeguard yourself, as with renting any car from any company. I would report old damages every time I rent the same car, and even clear out the car of litter left behind by previous hirers as I do not wish to be penalised for something I didn't do, but have no way to prove it.
The past 1 year has been a delight, and I will continue using Carlite without worry.
I would say this car-sharing company has the most user-friendly experience because :
1) The cars are strictly housed in indoor parking facilities (MSCP), protecting them from adverse weather conditions. (E.g cars parked in open areas have higher risk of large vehicles knocking into them and also trees falling down during heavy storms)
2) Web-based application that still has physical vehicle key which eliminates over-reliance on software to lock and unlock the car. In the event the user's phone battery is flat, he/she can still use the physical car key to lock the vehicle for safety purposes
3) No obvious decal which makes you feel like home driving your own car
4) One of the most affordable rental rates
5) Extremely helpful customer service that actively engages with you 24 hrs, unlike some companies that expect you to go to their live chat knowing their chat algorithms.
However, Car Lite can improve on the following :
1) Letting users upload videos apart from photos to capture defects. Some faults are not that straightforward to capture via photos
2) Fine-tune your web application so that photos taken already do not get wiped out during network connectivity issues
I have rented from Carlite a few times, and have had a pleasant experience every time.
I have had to deal with both Roger and Tin for a recent event, and Roger was particularly helpful and extremely customer-centric; issue was resolved with no hassle on my part.

I had gotten into a minor accident and I was quite traumatised by that. Mr Yaoxiang was very understanding and had accommodated to all my request. Additionally, he even guided me through with all the private settlement procedures and advised me on how I should handle such kind of situations in the future
I would highly recommend Carlite services, especially to P-plate drivers! Their customer service team would not disappoint you for sure 👍🏻

Average:
Car condition okay most of the time, although cannot compare with a proper traditional hire company.
Cons:
Honda fit petrol meter is often not sensitive. Does not move after pumping petrol. Seriously should consider full tank to full tank! Overpaid so many times on petrol + anxiety of getting charged penalty.
Cars are located at the upper decks of HDB multi storey, rather inconvenient.
Have been using carlite for over 2 years. Definitely one of the best car sharing platform in singapore and the fleet are mostly new and well maintained vehicle. 15min rental allows great flexibility and convenience. The rates are also very affordable. Most importantly, Alvin has consistently provided impeccable customer service since I signed up for carlite be it regarding booking matters or after getting into an accident. This high level of customer service is what makes me keep going back to carlite. Will definitely recommend carlite to everyone as it is easily one of the best car sharing platform
Easy registration ,verification through video call and quick activation. Clean and nice cars in good condition. Customer service responds quickly. Rates are quite reasonable. No mileage charge, you need to return cars with fuel level above 1/4. I definitely recommend Carlite.
I have used the service twice so far and both time the experience was very pleasant. I have used TribeCar before this and was not at all happy with their car condition (very dirty and smelly). CarLite cars are maintained well and in good condition.
Flexibility: I love that they allow 15-min slots (unlike other services which use 1-hour slots). In this respect, CarLite is second only to BlueSG which allows per-minute billing.
As of now, the promo prices are extremely attractive.
Had many experience in renting from several car companies. It's my habit to top up the petrol right before returning the car back to its station.
But CarLite, gave me a shock when they called claiming that the car petrol is below the "expected" level! Seriously?! It was my first time renting from CarLite as I wish to try it out since it offered a good rate. Well, I didn't argue and just payed the $15 fine imposed unreasonably on me. Even though, I could provide receipt of the top up done just minutes before returning the car, I let it slide.
Again, CarLite shocked me with an email after a few days saying I damaged the car! They show the 'damages' which they claims it was due to my fault. Definitely this time round, I would NOT let it slip as I am very sure that I didn't do it.
They made a mountain out of a molehill. Showing me pictures which is merely unjust. I am so taken back by these accusations. I smell rats in this company, trying to take advantage. They claimed that they wash the car almost daily. Seriously?!
Be mindful of CarLite. They definitely deserve 5 stars for giving me a double shock on my first time renting with them. Bravo 👏

Overall a 5 star experience. RECOMMENDED it's tier 5 cars for a more premium experience.
