Having a great photographer was one of our top priorities for our wedding, as the photos capture not only us but the essence of the entire day. We’re so glad we chose Shawn. Shawn is incredibly responsive and detail-oriented. Before the wedding, he scheduled a call to understand our needs and personalities, which we really appreciated. It gave us a chance to share our vision with him while also walking through the day's schedule. At the time, we had little idea of how the day would unfold, but Shawn offered a helpful and timely timeline for us. During the call, he sketched out a draft schedule and summarized everything we discussed, sending it over afterward. Right from our first meeting, it was clear that Shawn wasn’t just another vendor - he was someone genuinely invested in making our big day special. On the wedding day, Shawn arrived earlier than scheduled at the bride’s house to capture moments during the makeup session. His punctuality and willingness to go the extra mile really stood out. We also loved how he prioritized us as a couple, ensuring no one disrupted the quality of the photos, which came through beautifully in the sneak peeks. We can’t wait to see the rest! We had a lion dance performance, and Shawn even helped coordinate with the troupe leader. A big thank you to Shawn for always bringing such positive energy, suggesting great photo ideas, and hyping up the family! He sustained a knee injury prior to our planned shooting day, but to accommodate our schedule he went ahead with the PWS in spite of his injury which we greatly appreciated. We started the planning of our photoshoot via a Zoom call, where he listened to how we would like our photoshoot to be - candid and unpretentious. He then shared with us about how the style that he intends to use for our photoshoot. We felt that the Zoom call was very important and helpful to establish the rapport and trust with him. On the actual day of the PWS, it poured so heavily and we thought that we would not get the vibes that we wanted. Shawn suggested that we might as well make use of the rain and get some rain shots in. Overall, he knew just the right angles to capture the shots and he was very clear with his directions. We were so impressed when we received the photos and they were all what we had wanted - the right angles and vibes. The rain worked out in our favour and the vibe was so magical. Sam and YiFei (her assistant for the day) were amazing handling all the relatives, and directing us for all the most beautiful photos despite us being quite awkward in front of the camera. We filled in the form of our needs/wants- yet the 2 photographers have forgotten to take pictures of our car (Volkswagen beetle) and us. And we didnt know that we are not allowed to take photos in the hotel that we stayed in because our dinner banquet was elsewhere and we thought our photographers would know better and would inform us earlier that permission need to be sought. I think they are slightly inexperienced? But other than that, all was alright.

We engaged Sarah for our PWS after doing multiple researches around different bridal photography studios and found that heystranger, and especially Sarah, suit us the best! As a couple who were camera-awkward, Sarah was so thoughtful during the whole process, making the both of us feel so comfortable! The pre-shoot discussion allowed us to know what to expect during the shoot day, and she was so accommodating in answering our queries and provided many suggestion leading up to the shoot. Getting Shawn to be our AD photographer was one of the best decisions we made throughout our entire wedding journey. While we only envisioned the standard stuff to be photographed during our wedding, Shawn went above and beyond and suggested more intimate moments (veiling, private vows) Fortunately for us, Shawn was my husband’s friend so we got comfortable really easily. But that didn’t mean he gave us any less or slacked on the job. He was 100% professional, running up and down while following us the entire day and mingled really well with our guests! Shannon also came along for our solemnisation and worked well together with Shawn, capturing 2 different angles of pure joy, laughter and tears. Fast forward 2 weeks, we got our pictures and HE KILLED IT ✨ we didn’t expect to see many of the pictures he had taken because they were really in the moment and full of raw emotions. When we sent the images to our guests, some even requested for us to print them out on big canvases to put in the living room 😂 thank you for giving us the chance to see what we missed on our big day, and for letting us relive the very moment

We just had our wedding a few days ago, and I’ll just let the picture speak for itself! It really took us a while to search, source and consider before reaching out to Hey Stranger to get Seng Hong to be our photographer. The main reason, was that our venue was mainly outdoors and we had a certain vision in mind. With that, looking at the portfolio on their site, it was a pretty obvious choice. Seng Hong was not only an amazing photographer, he was so sociable that even our guests gave us compliments about him. We still have ways to go before seeing/receiving our photos, but he sent this particular one as this was the only shot/scene we requested. How he captured exactly what we envision, really blows our mind! And even our bridal party commented on how this picture made them want to hold an outdoor wedding. All in all, we’re really blessed to have followed through with our choice and picked him as the one to photograph our special day. Thanks Seng Hong for being such a wonderful partner! Me and my wife contracted Hey Strangers for our actual wedding day. We were lucky to have Ryan as our photographer. He is extremely experienced and friendly. A fun and easy going person to be and speak with! Our Bridesmaids and Groomsmen blended well with him and even sang his praises. During the actual wedding day, it started to rain. However Ryan remained calm and composed and assure us that he would do shots in indoors that would look like outdoors photos. He then show us some photos and true enough, the photos that he took was amazing and beautiful. He plays well with his angles and even taught our videographer from another company on how to do it. He cracks jokes and ensures the photos that he takes are your genuine expressions. He even went the extra mile for us of taking boomerangs and short video clips for us. Ryan(PG), Kayden(VG), and Brandon(2nd VG) are one of the most professional yet humble people just trying to perfect their craft. We had an early call time on our AD, had the sunniest outdoor solemnization, and even had an unforeseen issue with the ballroom’s aircon system, but they all still gave their 101%. They already had a very clear picture of how they want their shots to be so coordination among themselves was not a problem. It was very easy to work with them and we knew that we are in good hands. Having Ryan as our photographer was like having a friend shoot for your wedding. He constantly checked in with us to make sure that we are still doing ok despite the scorching hot sun, and handled us tissues in the most stealth way possible during our solemnization so that we can wipe our perspiration, and he never complained. He also nailed the shots pretty fast so that we do not need to keep redoing(which can be a torture in that 32°C weather lol). Kayden had a very tight timeframe to have our Same Day Edit Video ready by our second march-in but he delivered just in time and our guests and us enjoyed the video very much! Although it was crunch time, his video did not look rushed and we are thankful for Kayden and Brandon for capturing the essence of our morning gatecrash session which we are really grateful for to have such a nice video to look back. We love it so much that we actually replay it everyday after the wedding :) Our experience with Hey Stranger has been a great one thus far and we are already looking forward to receiving the photos and wedding highlight video!

His friendly demeanor, creativity, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances made our photoshoot enjoyable and stress-free. The fact that Ming Hwee managed to capture amazing shots despite challenging lighting conditions in the bar speaks to his skill. Although we were running short of time, due the heavy downpour, he went above and beyond by completing the shortlisted locations before calling it a day. I am super grateful that I stumbled upon Heystrangers on Instagram. They put in a lot of effort to prepare a deck of locations and helpful guides on what to wear, and take note of etc. They also have partners for florals and make up which made planning what I would need during my PWS so much easier. But most importantly to my photographer, Sam, I'm in love with all of the amazing photos that she took. 😊 Even before the PWS, I knew the kind of vibe that I wanted but I wasn’t sure how, where and what to do to achieve it so I was so grateful when the places that she recommended for our PWS really fit the vibe that I wanted. It was only with her patience in guiding and posing us for the photos, coupled with her clear instructions that made it so easy for us to replicate the poses, that the photos could turn out so beautifully. Secondly, I was really worried that the photos would come out really awkward as we’re both usually super awkward in front of the camera and prefer to pull silly faces rather than take things super seriously, but she made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and pulled our focus back towards each other. She also put in the effort to ask us questions about one another to bring out the mood/feelings that made the photos that she captured so genuine. Her ability to capture the perfect angle and quick thinking of what the best pose would be to suit the situation (eg. if it was really crowded) and location gave us photos that were beyond our expectation. All in all, I absolutely loved the photos I received. Knowing how excited we will be for the photos, Sam also put in the extra effort to prepare a sneak peek for us to view some of the photos. After we received the photos, we were also able to choose our fav 15 photos for them to photoshop and the heystrangers editing team were very understanding when we wanted more changes to be done. 😊 Thank you Sam and the rest of the Heystrangers team 😊

We were really happy to have engaged Seng Hong for our PWS! Despite the heavy rain and glommy weather, seng hong kept the spirits high and made the best out of the situation. From beginning to end, Hey Stranger was communicative and extremely easy to work with. Rena recommended great locations and had awesome examples to give us a better idea when we couldn’t decide, and also hooked us up with a phenomenal make-up artist (Celine at Dear Muse, who I have a review for, check her out!). We were trying to coordinate this from overseas and Rena made it extremely easy! Now the fun part of course; Michael. My husband has to deal with me, a very awkward, camera-shy person with a long history of ruining photos. Cut to delivery - When we opened the gallery this morning, we were so blown away by how beautiful they turned out! It’s really quite unbelievable. And absolutely do your best to get Michael and when you do; trust his process and allow the man to direct and do his thing. He won’t lead you wrong with his talent. My fiance and I wanted to do a pre-wedding photoshoot during our two week visit and Sam & team were very flexible with their timings to make sure we were able to shoot it at a convenient time for us.
