Reviews of 328 Katong Laksa
Easy to eat with just a spoon and was tasty. They have different sizes for the laksa and it was all served really quickly. The images of the laksa show whole prawns but it’s actually just these sliced up pieces inside.
Taste wise ok like it that their cockles are not overcooked, but would be better if the soup can be hotter.
Not the one in Katong, but the branch in Westgate.
It's been a while since I've had "Katong laksa", and this time round, the curry is not as lemak as it used to be. In fact, it's actually much spicier than other laksas. I do love their cockles, which were not the small, tiny ones. The otar was ok.
This is the brand that doesn't serve laska with chopsticks; you use only the spoon provided. Their laksa is not cheap, easily 60% to 100% more expensive than other places. It's worth trying once in a while for the difference, but honestly I'd rather pay less for a larger and heartier bowl of laksa from my place downstairs.
Nice tasting Laksa. No prawns like in the picture (small peeled prawn inside), maybe for large size, not sure. The cockles are really tiny. Actually small size contain quite a good amount of noodle hence should be enough for most people.
Prices are quite shocking. $9 for large laksa. But actually can share 2 persons if not too hungry.
Taste is ok. Service a bit unfriendly
There are 3 Portion choices, Small bowl $5.50, Medium $6.50, Large $7.50. Ordered Small bowl, portion is alright for me but find the fish cake too few slices as it cut a piece of fish cake into slices, prawn cut into slices too. As for spiciness,is bit spicy for me. Aloe Vera drink $2.20. It only accepts Cash Payment only.
Today's medium size laksa tasted good, broth is thicker and stronger in taste. Previously went for lunch on weekend and the laksa broth was tasteless and diluted, very watery and disappointing.
Famous laksa. Chanced upon this while shopping in the west. At $5.50 a bowl for the smallest size (there are 3 sizes, each increases by $1), i would say this is rather pricey. Nevertheless, there are actually prawns. I wouldn't say the prawns are juicy though. Tastes rather overcooked. There are also cockles. No tau pok (fried beancurd). Help yourself to the laksa leaves & chili. 1 thing unique abt this chain is that they don't provide chopsticks. The bee hoon (thick) are also cut into small pieces. Eat with spoon. The idea is to let you savour the broth with each scoop of bee hoon. Not bad, but don't think I would travel nor queue for this.
Taste is not the same as the original stall. In fact, it’s not as tasty.. and a bit bland.. The good news is that the portions are huge, so do not get more than the small size until you are really hungry or sharing with another person.
The taste is not the same another branch in East Coast road. The thickness and flavour in Westgate is less than East Coast. Still prefer the East Coast branch
I have always like 328 Katong Laksa because despite being a chain stalls, the taste are consistently good across most of the stalls. That they are able to achieve that also mainly because it doesn't require much cooking skill from each individual stalls owner as they just simply 'assemble' the ingredients prepared by the central kitchen, warm it with the laksa broth and serve it.
What I do not like about this stall is that they have overcooked the whole dish by dumping everything all at once to cook with the broth but with the simplest of cooking knowledge would know that not all ingredients take the same amount of time to cook. This resulted the cockles shrank into peanut size and the prawns not only shrank in size, the texture were also chewy due to the overcooking. The broth still taste good but this is hardly the credit of the stall owner.
A little expensive for the size of the bowl. Small bowl is $6+. Decent taste but many other laksa stalls in Singapore offers much more in terms of taste and looks for cheaper.
Delicious laksa, no longer need to travel to the original outlet which is damn far from my house. Full of flavour, not too spicy. Plenty of ingredients. Food n drinks slightly pricey. Stall is pretty small.
Laksa still delicious but recently a lady joined the team, rather nasty and rude. Quite a turn off, will reduce patronage or go other outlets
That nasty woman still around... still avoiding this outlet
It's a bit expensive, and bit too spicy. Only accept cash.
Authentic tasty Katong Laksa! Now enjoy at the West. Cosy friendly tidy clean fresh. Spacial aircond relaxing and fast service.
Quick service. Nice and clean place. The laksa is tasty. Noodles are cut short.
Katong laksa in the west...no longer need to drive to the east to sample this peranakan favourite
Can be quite pricey especially after the price hike...is it due to the limelight gained after beating some celebrity chef?
Food is similar compared to the actual store in Katong, but space is a bit small and can get crowded during lunch hour.
So good
Nothing beats having laksa here on a rainy day
The quality here is the same as the original branch. Keep it up.
Average. Nothing great
Nice food.
