Reviews of 8 degrees 8度空間-人文茶館 @Jln Besar
The beverage menu is pretty extensive in choices, as they offer bubble tea, green tea and many other flavoured teas too.
The scallion pancake was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. It comes with a fragrance dipping sauce, which enhanced the pancake even better!
The braised meat was tender and slightly sweet, goes so well with the fluffy white rice!
All our food orders were served within 15 minutes of ordering! Overall, the service is pretty decent, and I will recommend my friends to this eatery place and bring my family to try their food!
A cozy restaurant serving authentic Taiwanese food. I have tried their food before. Their food quality is quite consistent, with their mee sua (wheat vermicelli) being the standout.
For Bubble tea lovers, please look out for their new item - Bubble Tea Ramen. It’s a soup version with black pearls.
We also tried our all time favorite Scallion Oil Chicken Rice. Just make sure you mix the sauce and rice well for a flavorful bowl.
Tried their shrimp fried rice which was topped with generous pork floss. Fresh shrimp and delicious.
I always love their pork belly rice 卤肉饭 but I opted for udon instead of rice. I must say the portion is huge for me. And everything in the bowl suited my palate.
The restaurant closes at 9pm. The busiest time is between 7pm and 8pm. After 8pm it seems to be better, but your favorite dishes may be sold out. Please plan your trip well!
Food was yummy and affordable, really fixed my Taiwanese food cravings 🥹
Their bubble tea ramen is so unique too, def give it a try! They also have classic favourites like pork belly rice which was so delicious 🤤
Lovely experience at 8 degrees! Delicious and wholesome Taiwanese cusine.
My family enjoyed the braised pork belly, oyster mee sua. Highly recommend the sides like shitake mushrooms and oyster pancakes. Wash it all down with their refreshing dessert like lemon aiyu jelly and bubble teas.
nice and cozy place for gatherings with friends/ families or even a date! the service staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. especially love their oyster mee sua and their brinjal with pork floss. wait. actually all the items i ordered were pretty delicious! it was my first time dining there and i cant wait to be there to try out more food items!
oh ya, if you love bubble tea and ramen, do give their bubble tea ramen a try! it is such a complex flavor but it doesnt confuse you as much. love how they cooked the noodles so al dente, and the chicken cutlet that came with the ramen was so tender and juicy. must try!
I had an amazing time at 8 degrees with my friends! The vibe was vibrant and welcoming. I ordered their new item Bubble Milk Tea Ramen and it was rich and savory👍🏻 The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. I highly recommend 8 degrees for anyone craving authentic Taiwanese cuisine 👍🏻
Overestimated how much of a glutton we can be🥰 wonderful portions and flavours and would totally try the pork belly and scallion pancakes again!
The cheese egg roll with pork floss is lacking a little of the cheese but is overall so amazing!!
Came here on a Friday night, and the place was quite packed! The ambience was neat and tranquil, service staff were quick and polite, which I really appreciated. There was no greasy aroma, and everything was well-maintained.
💧 Water is not complimentary.
......
Here’s what we had:
🍚 Pork Belly Rice
The rice was a bit too mushy, not just from the gravy but also because the rice itself was too moist. The pork belly sauce lacked flavour, though the fatty parts were tender. Nothing extraordinary, but for $6, it's good value, especially with the pickled radish and hard-boiled egg on the side. A hearty, meaty meal overall.
I rate: 3.5/5 🌟
🍚 Scallion Oil Chicken Rice
This dish had a wonderful aroma from the scallion oil, which paired perfectly with the tender chicken and rice. Light, savoury, and slightly greasy in the best way, it was very addictive. The fresh spring onions added a nice crispness, and the hard-boiled egg with pickled radish tied the dish together. At $6, it’s quite a steal.
I rate: 4.5/5 🌟
🫔 Egg Roll with Pork Floss
The egg roll was thick and generously filled with pork floss, making it very savoury, but also dry. The omelette wrapped inside was barely noticeable, and I wish there had been more sauce to balance the dryness. The doughy skin was also a bit too thick for my liking. The dish had potential, but the ingredient ratio wasn’t quite right for me.
I rate: 2.8/5 🌟
🐔 Fried Chicken Cutlet
This was a standout dish. The batter was incredibly crispy, with the meat inside still juicy and deeply marinated. The flaky, crumbly crust was done perfectly, and the truffle sauce added moisture and a unique twist. They really nailed the fried chicken here.
I rate: 5/5 🌟
🫓 Fried Scallion Pancake
Flat and crispy, but nothing particularly memorable. However, the accompanying sauce, with its light spice & fragrance, helped elevate the dish slightly.
I rate: 2.5/5 🌟
🍜 Pork Belly Udon
This dish used the same braised pork as the pork rice, but served over udon with shredded cucumbers. There wasn’t anything special about it, and I’d skip it next time in favour of more interesting dishes.
I rate: 3/5 🌟
🍜 Bubble Tea Ramen (new item!)
This gimmicky ramen dish was one of the more intriguing items on the menu, featuring boba pearls in a milky broth. Visually striking, it had a light tea fragrance with a rich, creamy base. The combination of sweet, salty, and savoury flavours was unusual—like milk tea meets tonkotsu broth. Not amazing, but definitely worth trying for the novelty. The ramen itself was nice, and the side of chicken cutlet made the dish more satisfying.
I rate: ??/5 🌟
🍜 Oyster Mee Sua
The noodles had a nice bite and were cooked in a light, starchy bonito broth. The broth wasn’t overpowering, letting the fresh, plump oysters stand out. The addition of black vinegar added a delightful tang to this dish.
I rate: 3.5/5 🌟
...--
Drinks:
🧋 Milk Tea w Pearl
Classic Taiwanese milk tea. I’d recommend opting for 50% or 0% sugar as it’s quite sweet. The milkiness was rich, and the tea had a pleasant fragrance.
I rate: 4/5 🌟
🍵 Green Tea w Pearl
A straightforward jasmine green tea with pearls.
I rate: 3.5/5 🌟
🍋 Wintermelon w Lemon
This was really refreshing. The lemon was the dominant flavour, making it a great palate cleanser after a heavy meal. I enjoyed it.
I rate: 4.5/5 🌟
Sept 2024 Update: The king oyster mushroom and the fried chicken are great dishes too, and I liked the Century egg. The meatball soup is decent, but nothing compared to the herbal duck soup. And new pics comparing the small and large drink sizes.
Jan 2024: The herbal duck soup is a MUST TRY! Smelled amazing when they set it down in front of me, and after the first sip of the soup, nothing else could stop me from giving them 5 stars for the food!
I also love the pearl milk tea, thick honey toast, and the pickled cucumbers, but if you only eat one item from their menu, make it the herbal duck soup. 5* Soup, seriously.
Service is decent, and the place wasn't crowded when we went. There's street parking around, though it gets filled quickly.
Affordable Taiwanese food!
I love the scallion oil chicken rice!!! The sauce was sooooo good!
Tried the bubble tea ramen and it’s not that weird actually. Just the pearls are weird to be in the dish hahaha. I do like the chewiness of the pearls (in the bbt) HAHAHHA.
I recently tried the Taiwanese food at this restaurant, and it brought back memories of my time in Taiwan. Overall, the food tasted decent, with the drinks and side dishes hitting the mark as well. The prices are affordable, making it a great spot for a simple meal, even without drinks.
Came here for desserts after lunch on a weekday. Ordered their Signature Grass Jelly dessert along with 1 bubble milk tea and 1 jaskine yuzu with aiyu jelly. The taste is okay.
What would have been better is for them to use shaved ice instead ice cubes for the dessert.
They have a weird new creation - bubble tea ramen. We didn't try and can't imagine how it would taste like.
The pork belly rice seems good and we don't mind coming back to have lunch here. Got air con.
Update: Came here on Monday for lunch. Restaurant was full. We tried the Signature Pork Belly Rice, Scallion Oil Chicken Rice, Oyster Omelette, Salted Crispy Chicken. Love the pork belly rice and crispy chicken. The oyster omelette is a bit of a miss for us.
Had a scrumptious meal today!
It's rare to find a place where everyone has their own top picks!
My elder girl can't get enough of the Pork belly rice,
Second boy loves the Scallion oil chicken rice,
My baby is torn between the Chicken cutlet ramen and Pork belly Udon,
hubby's go-to is the Chicken Meesua, and I love them all! 😂
If you're looking for a dining spot that serves authentic Taiwanese comfort food yet affordable, 8 Degrees Eat at Jalan Besar is a hidden gem worth visiting! The cozy and casual vibe makes it the perfect spot to indulge in hearty dishes that are full of flavor.
🍴 What to Try
Braised Pork Rice (Lu Rou Fan): This comforting Taiwanese staple is served with tender, flavorful pork atop fragrant rice—simple yet rather satisfying.
XL Fried Chicken Cutlet: Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and generously sized, this was definitely one of my highlights
Bubble Tea Ramen: A fun and unique creation that combines chewy sweet tapioca pearls with a savory broth—it’s an unexpected but surprisingly delightful! Really an eye opener
Bubble Tea: Round off your meal with their refreshing pearl milk tea—chewy pearls and perfectly balanced sweetness make it a treat on its own.
Got the usual signature pork belly rice + scallion chicken oil rice.
The lemon aiyu passion fruit dessert had a tinge of sweetness which really complimented the passionfruit. Worth a try, 1 bowl can share between 2 people.

Brought my family with mum and nephew for dinner. We ordered braised pork rice, oyster mee sua and I the brave soul tried their bubble tea ramen that comes with a very nice fried chicken cutlet. For sides, we had salted fried chicken, pork floss egg roll and pork floss brinjal. Love their braised pork rice and mee sua which my mum says taste exactly like in Taiwan. Other recommendations are the fried sides like salted chicken and chicken cutlet all are very good! The bubble tea ramen is quite interesting and good for sharing. Drinks are also quite good for bubble milk tea. Recommended for family dinner with elderly and kids.
8 degree is always me & my family all time favourite place for meal.
This time round, we had:
Pork Belly Rice - My all-time favourite
Oyster Meesua - My husband is all-time favourite
Scallion Oil Chicken Rice - Jaylen's all-time favourite
Chicken Cutlet Ramen - Jaymas new found favourite
Milk Tea with Pearl - My all-time favourite
Wintermelon with Lemon - 1st time trying, and it's refreshing
Lemon Aiyu with Passion Fruit - 1st time trying, and my kids love it so much
Affordable and delicious Taiwanese food! Highlights: luroufan and meesua to satisfy your craving of taiwanese comfort food. The ramen is also great and comforting - kids friendly.
Tasty and great value for money. Decent portions and an air-conditioned setting.
Expect a queue on weekends, but it's worth the wait. I'll definitely be back!
Must end with their bbt and dessert!! So refreshing
This place is my go-to place to satisfy my Taiwanese food craving. It is a cosy and casual place. The food is authentic and affordable.
My usual order are:
> Pork Belly Rice: $6
> Pork Belly Udon $8.80
> Chicken Cutlet Ramen $9.80
> Oyster Mee Sua $6
> Egg Roll with Pork Floss $8
> Glass Jelly with Yam Ball $6
> Milk tea with pearl $5.90 (L)
It is a very family friendly eatery with good options for the kids even though there is no specific kids menu.
Dined in twice but food quality tasted different on different occasions. Food was served quickly which I appreciated and the highlights for me were the salt pepper chicken and milk tea!
Lu rou fan was a big disappointment, hence minus 1 star. Service of staff could also be improved. Overall, good dine in experience!
We went there for the interesting BBT ramen. Find that the combination of sweet and savoury taste is a bit strange but worth the try. The oyster and pig intestines mee sua was tasty. Love the lemon aiyu with passionfruits! Parallel parking along the road depends on availability.
I was craving mee sua, and 8Degrees totally hit the spot! The broth was thick and savory, with an irresistible umami flavor and a touch of brininess. I paired it with their salted chicken—10/10, highly recommend this combo!
My friend went for the Scallion Oil Chicken Rice and wasn’t disappointed either. So satisfying!
Prices are affordable, and the food is definitely nice! The restaurant serves a wide range of Taiwanese dishes with an authentic taste.
Not to mention, the bubble tea!i
Visited especially to try the Bubble Tea Ramen, which was savoury with the mixture of saltiness from the broth and a bit of sweetness from the pearl. Just that the chicken cullet can a bit less salt as it’s a bit salty after few bites. Also more sauce can be added to the braised pork rice but overall the meat is nice and tender. Tried the signature milk tea with 0% sugar and still taste good with no sweetness, pearls are chewy as well.
We reached slightly before 7pm and was surprised to see the place quite empty. Placed our orders and really counted our blessings because the dinner crowds started coming in after 7pm. Hence, if you’d like to skip the crowd, do visit before 7pm!
Despite the crowd, the staffs were really friendly and attentive. They took times to explain the different kind of bubble teas we ordered, and also let us know the condiments for our food, giving us recommendations. 👍
It was my husband’s 2nd visit and he said the food is still as good as he remembered! It was my kids and my first visit and all of us love our food! My daughter had their signature pork belly rice and she loves it! The pork was soft and fragrant and the egg was well marinated. My son tried their scallion oil chicken rice and the chicken was really tender! He just didn’t like all the veggies that came with his rice. 😂
I had their pork belly udon while my husband had their oysters mee sua. They provided the vinegar separately hence you can decide how much to add to your mee sua. I am not a huge fan of udon to be honest. I ordered that just in case my kids rejected their rice, but the sauce from the pork belly goes so well with the udon that I really enjoyed my meal! We also ordered their salted chicken to share, and you can’t fault it!
For bubble teas, you can determine the sweetness level, which is a win! We do not like any sugar with our tea so that we can taste how good the tea are. The pearls are of great texture and the tea are fragrant. Love it!
Update 23/10/2024: tried the bubble tea ramen and was surprisingly good!! Soup is actually savoury, and it’s hot! Not cold 🤣 milk tea and braised pork rice still good as usual 👍🏻
Hidden place that sells affordable Taiwanese food.
Braised pork rice ($6) was fragrant and the pieces of meat just fell disintegrated 👍🏻 I love how they also use pearl rice which was fluffy and chewy hehe. Their egg yolk was not dry either!
Scallion chicken rice ($6) came with a generous amount of chicken and the accompanying sauce was very tasty! I couldn’t really taste the scallion oil but the scallion pieces provided a nice touch to each bite.
Oyster & large intestines mee sua ($7) was pretty good and was even better with the vinegar and chilli! The broth was not overly starchy and the large intestines and oysters were fresh too.
Salted chicken ($7) was super tasty!! Chicken pieces were juicy, well-fried and not over-battered 🫶🏻
We also had their drinks and I highly recommend their Bubble Milk Tea (50% sugar) and the Honey Green Tea (50% honey)!!! The milk tea had a tinge of brown sugar fragrance and was soooo good. Honey milk tea was also not overly sweet which is very much appreciated 🧋
Good and prompt service, and very comforting Taiwanese local eats. I have been to Taiwan a few times and I find the flavors here at 8Degrees authentic and delicious.
Strongly recommend the oyster meesua, and the bubble milk tea! Really feels like Taiwan. My kids really enjoyed the food and we will revisit!
Went there with 3 other friends to try the food here and saw Bubble Tea Ramen on their menu. Ordered that and 3 other dishes. Very Avant Garde, but I can accept.
Tried their Chicken Cutlet Ramen and it was so comforting! The broth are light and chicken cutlet are well marinated. Making it a perfect main to go with my milk tea 🧋
Tasty and delicious for the meesua, udon, Signature Pork Belly Rice and bubble tea ramen. So special!
Drinks are refreshing and chewy for the boba. Aiyu lemon dessert with passion fruit also nice.Love them~🥰❤️ Highly recommended if you’re craving for Taiwan food & drink.
Exploring the Jalan Besar foodie area, discovered an authentic Taiwan restaurant serving classic Taiwan dishes at affordable prices! We arrived after lunch hours, and the place was quite empty. The staff are friendly, and we ordered their signature braised pork rice, Scallion Chicken Rice, Pork Intestines Mee Sua and Salted Fried Chicken. We also ordered their classic Taiwan Bubble Milk Tea. The style of cooking stays true to the Taiwan taste, savoury and more oily. It simple pleasures like these that are reminiscent of our recent trips to Taiwan, and helps to forget the horror of the Taiwan Night Market Food Court at Orchard. The milk tea is not too sweet and nice. All in all a great find, and we certainly will return when we are in the vicinity :)
Went to visit this establishment with my family. Used the voucher found on Chope where we got a main and a drink for $8.99. It was absolute value-for-money!
The main dishes were generally okay, with quite small portions. However, they were nothing much to write home about. The drinks and sides were the stars of the show, and I would definitely be back especially for the fried chicken.
However… the desserts here were really expensive, costing as much as a main dish. If you are craving Taiwanese desserts, you’re better off going to another place like Nine Fresh.
Love the Jay Chou playlist here!!
Ordered the Chitterling & Oyster Mee Sua: The broth was thick & not just starchy, which I liked.
Signature Pork Belly Rice: The braised sauce was on the sweet side & the pork belly pieces were pretty chunky!
Scallion Oil Chicken Rice: The chicken were super tender & I was quite surprised at how much I liked this! Looks underwhelming but it was well-seasoned & the scallion oil gave it an appetising fragrance.
Egg Roll with Pork Floss: This was my favourite item! The egg roll was bouncy but also very eggy & flavourful. The pork floss spilled over with each bite but somehow the skin held it together well 😍
Scallion Pancake: Super crispy! Could have been a little more fragrant with more scallion bits, but for this price it’s already decent!
Salted Chicken: Not really a fan of this for the wrong reasons(?) The chicken chunks were tasty & the skin was crisp! However, the chicken chunks were pretty huge so I felt the batter to chicken ratio was a bit off.
Herbal Duck Soup: Highly recommended! This item also looks super unassuming but it was VERY FLAVOURFUL! The herbal taste was strong & the duck was tender. Le sis ordered this but I just kept reaching over…
Milk Tea with Pearls: If you love milky teas, you MUST try this! It’s super smooth and creamy 😍 The tea taste could have been stronger though!
The 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 ($6) is a must order. Tender pork belly slices and a braised egg were doused in a flavourful braising gravy. Together with the tangy pickles, this was an outstanding dish.
The fabulously fragrant scallion oil rendered the 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗶𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 ($6) irresistible, while the sapid, viscous gravy enhanced our enjoyment of the 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗮 ($6).
For dessert, the 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗝𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗬𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹 ($6) was a stellar choice. Blocks of jiggly grass jelly juxtaposed with chewy yam balls and red beans made this dish marvellously mouth-watering.
And being a Taiwanese eatery, bubble teas are mandatory. The 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘀 ($5.90) was our top pick, though the 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘀 ($5.10) and the 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘀 ($5.90) were good too.
Comfort food! I had the signature pork belly rice, Bubble tea ramen, egg roll with pork floss ! Love love the chicken cutlet with the sauce that came with the bubble tea ramen 🥹 . Everything was yummy and i would come back again . Friendly staff and very homey comforting vibes.
Food is affordable and kid friendly. They do provide baby chair and kid cutlery set and help to cut noodles. The ramen is tenderly Q, try it out and you wont regrets it.
My friends & I dinning @8degreesatsg Jalan Besar outlet. We ate heartily & here’s what we have 🥢pork Belly rice 🥢chicken rice set 🥢mix mee sua 🥢egg roll with pork floss 🥢iceberg lettuce with garlic sauce 🥢fried salted chicken 🥢fried shiitake mushrooms 🧋milk tea with pearl 🧋glass jelly milk tea . Yummy authentic Taiwanese dishes. 🤤😋The price is quite affordable.
Bring my parents here for taiwan's food and they love it! The food was very tasting and the service was great! Very quiet and peaceful environment to dine in. Will definitely go back again!
Nice service and experience, food was also good! The bbt ramen was really special! We love the aiyu jelly!
Homely and cosy restaurant located along a row of shophouses, relatively near a few MRT stations. Food was served quickly. Food was up to standard. Highly recommend!
Taiwanese food that taste really amazing and I would be back for their bubble tea ramen whenever im craving for something milky and soupy ! The chicken cutlet that came with it exceed my expectations for a fried chicken cutlet
It has a good variety of Taiwanese Food. Like their Signature Pork belly rice, Scallion oil Chicken rice, Oyster mee sua, egg roll with pork floss, milk tea, and desserts! My favourite is the pork belly rice, egg roll with pork floss. The desserts are refreshing especially the lemon aiyu with passion fruit. The pork belly rice is flavourful. The portion is generous.
Flavours brought me back to Taiwan! There were so many options to choose from, including crowd favourites like the Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice).
For those who wants a twist, try the limited bubble tea ramen! 😝
The service is friendly and attentive, and the cozy setting makes it an ideal place for a casual meal with friends or family. 🩷
Quite a wide variety of Tainanese food to choose from such as mee sua, braised pork rice/udon, scallion pancake and of course not forgetting milk tea!! They also have a new bbt ramen that you can try if you're adventurous.
Food was great and really affordable! I especially love the bubble tea ramen, it's so unique and tasty!
Braised pork rice was flavorful, meat was soft. Not many places had this standard. Mee sua was good. Pork floss crepe was great, balanced flavor and layer of different texture. Chitterlings was average, abit chewy and was expecting them to be crispier. Scallion pan cake was above average.
Must try authentic Taiwanese food place!
Must tries:
Chitterling and oyster mee sua
Signature Pork belly rice
Bubble teas! all of them
Eggroll with pork floss
Salted chicken
Century egg tofu with pork floss
Their chilli was superb and paired with the mee sua was super delish.
Mee sua was served hot, and big oysters with the intestines as well.
Brings us back to Taiwan!
The salted cripsy chicken is also super delish
And the century egg tofu with pork floss was refreshing
Service was good too and greeted by smiles from staff!
We tried the branch at Jalan Besar
20 Foch Road
They also have Serangoon branch which shifted to Kovan!
At 29 Lowland Road
Third outlet at Sembawang
8 Jalan Legundi 01-03
Back again for my favourite affordable Taiwanese fare at @8degreesatsg We always go for their Taiwanese classics.
🐷🍚Pork Belly Rice (Lu Rou Fan) -Melt in the mouth tender braised pork belly served over a bed of rice. Portion was just right with flavourful braised egg and refreshing pickles.
🦪 🍜 Chitterling (Intestine) & Oysters Mee Sua - look 👀 at those plump and fresh oysters and generous amount of tender intestines. One of the decent bowl of tangy mee sua.
🧋Grass jelly Milk Tea -fragrant milk tea with refreshing grass jelly. Love that I could choose zero sugar. The best 😋
🥤Honey Green Tea with Pearl - refreshing drink with fresh chewy pearls
This is my family’s regular place for the 卤肉饭 (pork belly rice) because my kids love their version. Thankfully their menu has many more dishes so I get to have different items each time I’m there while my kids stick to the signature pork belly rice! Scallion chicken rice and oyster mee sua is what I like to order.
They have bubble tea, thick toast, grass jelly dessert also.
Service is quite fast. Price is affordable.
Comfortable simple air-conditioned cafe, it’s not a place to sit down and chit chat for long though, esp if there’s a queue waiting outside.
Amazing food, great service! Had the pork belly rice, pork belly udon and chicken mee sua and all were so authentic and flavourful! Also loved the bubble teas (milk tea with pearl and honey green tea) as it was rich in flavour. Really reccommend coming
I love a good Taiwanese bistro and this definitely hit the spot. So much classic Taiwanese fare, we were spoilt for choice. We got the:
Pork Belly Rice ($7.10)
Scallion Oil Chicken Rice ($7.10)
Oyster Mee Sua ($7.10)
Salted Chicken ($7)
Grass Jelly w Yam Ball ($6)
Overall, decent prices especially for the quality of food. The standout was definitely the oyster mee sua — we were surprised at how incredibly fresh and velvety they were. The chilli was also another unexpected star — I love my chilli and so do my dining partners; we all unequivocally agreed the chilli was shiok. Bubble tea here is also commendable — the pearls are very Q!
The pork belly rice and scallion oil chicken rice are done well but pretty standard; you get what you expect. The salted chicken was seasoned well albeit on the salty side — get ready for a load of (sinfully pleasant) MSG.
Overall, would come back again.
Missing Taiwan and their food so we dropped by @8degreesatsg to fix our cravings!
Here's what we had 😋
✨Signature Pork Belly Rice $6
✨Chittering & Oyster Mee Sua $7
✨Scallion Oil Chicken Rice $6
✨Salted Chicken $7
✨Meatball Soup $6
✨Marinated King Oyster Mushroom $6
✨Lemon Aiyu With Passion Fruit $4.80
✨Bubble Milk Tea $5.90
✨Honey Green Tea $5.90
All the food are so yummy but
I really want to share about these two dishes that amazed me.
Marinated King Oyster Mushroom is very appetising and it's mild spiciness with a hint of hemp pepper taste is just right to whet your appetite!
Their Lemon Aiyu with Passionfruit dessert have these interesting Magic Balls (魔豆) which bursts in your mouth and it tastes like lychee(?). It's so tasty and fun to eat! 😂
So overall, my personal favourites are their Signature Pork Belly Rice, Salted Chicken, Lemon Aiyu with Passionfruit and Bubble Milk Tea! I definitely will visit again for it's affordable food and friendly staffs/service.
P.S. They do rental for events too so hit them up if you are looking for a space to hold events and celebrations!
Satisfy my craving for Taiwanese local fare, in a comfortable casual eatery style with an affordable price.
While all the food are generally good, my favourite was Brinjal with Pork Floss and Egg Roll with Pork Floss 😍
Visited 8 degrees for an early dinner on a weekday, didn't have to wait for long before food was served! We tried their lu rou fan , pork belly udon noodles and chicken mee sua. Food was served warm and flavourful, decent serving size as well. We also ordered a chicken cutlet which was crispy but would be better if it was even spicier (asked for more spicy alr)!! Nonetheless, a decent place for a quick and comforting meal~😊 Thank you!
The restaurant was kind enough to accept my cake delivery and even gave us desserts for our birthday celebration! Dishes were mouth watering, tasted just like authentic Taiwanese food and the whole ambience felt like I was transported back to the times when I went to Taiwan! Strongly recommend this place for a cozy gathering! The staff were really friendly too! Can't wait to visit 8 degrees again! ❤️
Hits and misses for the food we had, but we appreciated the warm and friendly service despite the crowd! We preferred the Sesame Cold Noodles and range of bubble teas. They offer a selection of Taiwanese dishes at pretty reasonable prices.
Ordered bubble tea ramen and milk tea with pearl for lunch. Suprisingly alright, just not used to salty - sweet food (ramen) haha. The milk tea was decent.
probably one of the best pork belly rice i’ve had in singapore by far. their pork belly rice really reminded me of those that i’ve had back in taiwan. it’s so yummy! tried their egg crepes, it’s just as good, love the sauce!!
Loved the extensive menu of taiwanese food at rly affordable prices as well as how food was served promptly within 15 minutes upon ordering! The main highlight will be the bubble tea ramen, which tasted surprisingly good. Also rly appreciated how they separately served the chicken cutlet (that came with the ramen) upon request. This is one of the best chicken cutlet ive tasted, with its deliciously crispy breading and the perfect breading to meat ratio.
We also ordered other mains and drinks which tasted equally great, such as their pork belly udon, scallion oil chicken rice, oyster mee sua, milk tea with pearl and the refreshing lemon aiyu passion fruit!
had a really pleasant experience here! the food was overall very delicious & the staff were friendly :)

-sesame noodles: the sauce is mostly sweet with a tinge of sourness, tasted like salad sauce but more thick & creamy, wasn’t jelak but i would prefer if there were additional ingredients bc the dish was too simple in my opinion
-salted chicken: v crispy & flavourful, meat was tender & overall a rlly enjoyable dish that i would order again
-chicken floss egg roll: love the chewy texture of the egg roll, there was also a generous portion of chicken floss stuffed inside the roll; however the dish was slightly bland, i think it would taste better if the egg roll was slightly more seasoned or if there was more sauce added
amazing food, quality, customer service! recommend the boba ramen SO unique!!
The food here is value for money and they have a range of mains, sides and drinks including bubble tea on their menu as well! I enjoyed their cold sesame noodle most because it’s tasty and refreshing
Teleporting ourselves to Taiwan where we could rest our feet and feed our tummy with hearty Taiwanese cuisine at @8degreesatsg after some heavy shopping in Singapore.
Our ultimate comfort favourite bowls,
𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘄𝗹 𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗟𝘂 𝗥𝗼𝘂 𝗙𝗮𝗻 卤肉饭 - $6
Missing my Taiwanese braised pork cravings! One of the much-loved and classic bowls of braised pork rice. Having the tender and juicy luscious meat, drenched in rich braised meat sauce over the pipping hot fluffy rice. Meat morsels were absolutely delightful to soak up all the flavours, providing the notes of sweet and savoury for a balanced taste.
Deceptively simple with just that bowl of fluffy rice, topped with shredded silky and tender chicken meat. We were captivated by the in-depth fragrance and aroma of the scallions in entire bowl. Our most ‘dangerous’ overdose of flavourful carbo to our happy tummy. Can’t resist the addictive bowl at all.
Our most obsessed bowl whenever we were in Taiwan. Sizeable and plump oysters, coupled with generous springy chitterling. The broth was thick and gooey that made this appetising bowl tasty and tantalising.
Not forgetting the thirst-quenching bubble teas,
Honey Green Tea with Pearl
Milk Tea with Pearl
Grass Jelly Milk Tea
Quite extensive range of food options, but we were trying out their bubble tea ramen. Didn’t expect it to go pretty well together though, but should try the bubble tea ramen atleast once 😄. The drinks & desserts are also very nice!
Has moved to 20 Foch Road, amongst other nice eateries in that area.
Good Taiwanese style food such as Lu Rou Fan, Crispy chicken cutlet, Honey butter thick toast, Eggroll with pork floss, and other yummy dishes, not forgetting the Bubble milk teas.
Just realised that they offer membership for those who likes Taiwanese food 😊
Never fail to like the Jay Chou music playing at the background 😁👍
Located at Foch road, it’s a cozy shop which sells taiwan cuisine, tried their signature pork belly rice, oyster mee sua & scallion oil chicken rice for our mains, & for drinks we had milk tea with pearls & milk tea with grass jelly! The milk tea was super yummy, one of the best I have had!! All the items were super yummy, & will definitely go back to visit again! 🥳😍
The BEST Taiwan dining experience in Singapore - @8degreesatsg 🍛🍜
If you’re looking for authentic Taiwanese cuisine 🇹🇼, then this place is for you! Food, service and interior is 10/10 ⭐️
What my friend and I got:
- Scallion Oil Chicken Rice $6
- Grass Jelly Milk Tea (L) $6.90
- Honey Green Tea w Pearl (L) $5.90
My fav place to go to when I crave for Taiwanese food. They serve great 小菜 , 卤肉饭 and bubble tea ! All at afforable pricing and love the serving size !
Authentic Taiwanese food with nice staff! A highlight for me was the scallion chicken rice which was super flavourful and BBT as the pearls were chewy! Its a nice cosy environment with lots of couples and families on a friday night. Definitely a great place for a catchup with friends and family :)
came here looking forward to some great tasting taiwanese food looking at reviews but got rather disappointed. the mee sua and flossy egg pancake were lacking in flavour and lu rou fan was so-so. Milk tea boba has the pearls kinda mushy… they remind me how much i liked ShiLin’s more
Casual Taiwanese eatery with signature oyster meesua and boba tea. My child said the milk boba tea is better than Koi. Meesua was light. The 盐酥鸡 was our favourite. Aiyu passionfruit dessert was very refreshing too.
Cosy restaurant located in Jalan Besar serving up comforting Taiwanese eats! Would recommend the salted fried chicken, pork belly udon and scallion chicken rice! Do check them out:)
Portion is huge, definitely value for money! Flavours are good too. Will highly recommend to get their aiyu jelly w passion fruit! Super refreshing 🤪
Have been seeing 八度空間 around for a while. Finally tried it - actually turns out better than I expected. Recommend to order the Herbal Duck Soup toooooo!

3rd time eating here. Discovered their sesame cold noodle on my second visit and love it. Their century egg with tofu and pork floss is authentic tasting as well, especially with the accompanying sauce. Reasonable price and taste good! Definitely will come back for more meals.
I had a pretty good time here. The food was okay, but what caught my taste buds was their chili sauce, goes really well with their oyster mee sua too – it had a unique local flavor that I really liked. And I've got to give it to the staff; they were super friendly and made the whole experience even better. It's the kind of place where you feel welcomed.
Good introduction for long weekend foodies! 😋
Where can I eat authentic Taiwanese food in Singapore? 🇹🇼
Talking about Taiwanese food. . . Had to take a trip to @8degreesatsg octave space!
Braised Pork Rice S$6
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The braised pork rice here at Badu Space is moderately fatty and not too salty. The thick-tasting braised pork is fat but not greasy, salty and sweet. A mouthful of rice that soaks up the soup, plus a mouthful of fragrant meat. Fat but not greasy and especially delicious! It’s irresistible!
Intestine Mee Sua S$6
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That bowl of large intestine noodles is no less generous! ! The intestines are very tender and tasty, without the smell of large intestines. The marinade is on the lighter side. You can taste the faint aroma of bonito, but it doesn't taste salty. When you eat it with coriander and black vinegar, you can feel the full flavor of Taiwan. It's a pity why there is no minced garlic attached? I always felt that something was missing when I was eating it. When I got home and thought about it, I realized that it was the minced garlic that was missing!
Scallion oil chicken rice S$6
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spread plenty of shredded chicken on top of white rice, top it with chives and chicken oil rice, and eat it with coriander. It's simple but still has a little bit of surprise. The chicken will not be dry!
Eggroll w pork floss S$7
⭐️⭐️⭐️
To be honest, their meat floss egg pancakes are not soft on the meat floss. But I personally still prefer the soft Q version of the pie crust. I can’t say that this dish is outrageous, but I can only say that the number one meat floss egg pancake in my mind is amazing. 🤫
Mixed ball soup S$7
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The soup is light and sweet, and the meatballs have a solid and satisfying texture. Every bite is chewy and chewy!
Signature Pearl Milk Tea Milk tea w pearl S$5.90
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you are also a #宝 milk lover, then you must order their signature pearl milk tea! Pearl is really QQ sweet!
Foodies who miss Taiwan can come and eat at this restaurant! Taiwanese people who consider themselves Singapore believe that this company will never step into the trap!
This is a Taiwanese restaurant that I've been interested in for a while. I had the scallion oil chicken rice. It was simple and delicious. If you go alone, you won't be able to order much variety, so I think it's best to go with two or three people and order a few items to share.
Good food. As a Jay Chou super fan myself, this place has excellent atmosphere/ambience due to Jay Chou's music playing in the background. While there I heard… Rainbow, Tornado, Handwritten Once Upon a Time, Mojito, Pink Ocean, Beauty as Frost, White windmill, black humor😍😍😍😍😍😍
Jay Chou’s music makes all the difference. :)
Braised pork rice is good
Crispy Salted Chicken
Chicken rice is delicious
Braised pork rice is delicious
Scallion pancake
Milk tea is good
Jay Chou's songs are very nice, very nice, super nice!
Although it is a bit expensive
It's a worthwhile trip. Authentic Taiwanese snacks. Worth coming
I recently tried the Bubble Tea Ramen at 8 Degrees, and it’s definitely one of the most unique dishes I’ve come across! The concept of a milky tea-infused broth with pearls and ramen is intriguing, and it’s clear they’ve put thought into creating something different. While I still have a preference for the traditional ramen, I think it’s worth trying for the experience, especially if you’re a bubble tea lover looking for something adventurous. The cozy atmosphere and creative menu make it a fun spot to visit!
The mee sua and braised pork rice are very good. Yum.
