Reviews of Abundance: Taiwanese Restaurant & Craft Beer Bar (Redhill)
Very generous portions!
Favourites were the red hot chilli dumplings and the beef short rib fried rice (had a bit of gamey taste which I didn’t mind but some would). Honourable mention to the gui bao that came with a thick slab of braised pork belly. Prawn paste chicken fried rice didn’t really make the park, lacked the punchy prawn paste flavour you get at tze char stalls. In general I would prefer the fried rice to have more wok hey too.
Pretty authentic taiwan place thats sells pretty decent dishes. Would recommend the noodles as the texture and taste is more flavourful. The fried rice although decent is quite typical of standard fried rice. I wouldnt recommend the fries.
It's a perfect spot for a quick catch-up with a friend from Taiwan after dinner. The Mala fried chicken pieces were tasty, though slightly too salty. The coriander ice cream was an excellent reminiscence but had too little coriander.
The Taiwanese beef noodle is very good because the meat is very tender and flavourful. The soup is so good that I finished every drop of it. However I don't prefer the noodle as it was too chewy to my liking. Dumplings in the chill oil are good too. But be warned for those who couldn't take spiciness. The filling in the dumplings is fresh and well seasoned. Both noodle dishes are good but the lack of greens, makes it an incomplete dish for me. The peanut ice cream is special.
I had beef noodles which was super delicious !
The beef was tender and the soup was perfect.
I paired it with Rockmelon Lager. Yes, it's Rockmelon flavor.....really good and had a small side dish literally called 小菜 - glass noodle/konbu strips/bean sprouts/firm tofu strips seasoned in light vinegar...... Yummy.
They serve unusual cocktails too !
I will return to try other items !
Experience a delicious journey where each bite brings out amazing flavors and textures. The braised beef noodle is tender and full of spices, while the noodles are a perfect match for the rich broth. The fried squid is crispy outside and tender inside, with a great mix of flavors. Although the fried chicken bun isn’t as outstanding, it still adds a comforting touch to the meal. Overall, this dining experience offers a mix of tasty dishes, with the braised beef noodle and fried squid stealing the spotlight.
Ate here twice recently and had a very good meal on both occasions. Highly recommend the Gua bao, beef noodles and chilli oil dumplings. The gua bao and beef noodles are legit and is on par with the highly-rated options found in Taiwan. The dumplings are v well done - plump and generous with prawn and meat stuffing. They also have Xiao cai which tasted on par and in fact slightly better imo than what they have at Din tai fung.
There are also vegetarian options like the fried rice, san bei mushrooms (has onion and garlic, may want to ask them to omit if you don’t take such alliums. Drinks wise, I enjoyed the fizzy yuzu green tea. The staff there were friendly and accommodating as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was really good and affordable! Serving size was great for the price point too! Strongly recommended to try!
Food ordered: Honeydew Lager, Mala Popcorn Chicken, Red Hot Chilli Dumpling with Noodles, Peanut ice cream! More than enough for 2 pax!
small space but very popular! we tried their most popular dish — the beef noodle, and i totally understand why it’s such a favourite! the soup is very rich, smooth and not too oily!
the prawn paste chicken fried rice was also very impressive. the fried rice was similar to din tai fung’s in terms of fluffiness and taste! i’ve never had prawn paste chicken in this kind of style. the skin was sooo crunchy! i really enjoyed it, but those who like the regular zhi char style might find that this version doesn’t have as strong of a prawn paste taste (probably because they add flour to get the skin to be so crispy).
i would like to come back again! and try their bao and unique ice cream, which seems to be popular as a number of ppl were ordering it
Food was perfect! A bit slow to table but the taste is worth it! A bit dark in the place but great vibes
Space is a little tight. Rice dishes are pretty decent. I didn’t really like the beef from the beef fried rice because it reminded me of charsiew which I am not a fan of. Truffle fried rice can get a bit jelak if it’s not for sharing. Braised beef rice was nice. Prawn toast was ok but very oily. Loved the black sesame ice cream roll!! And their red hot chilli dumplings is one of the best!
Balsamic fries are good! The XO fried rice is nice. Mala popcorn chicken is not bad, a bit too spicy for me tho. I liked the dark noodles.
A nice and cozy place for a meal with family and friends. Love the food. Portion and taste are to my liking. Wonderful service from the staff too. I am particularly loving their beer.
My boss was treating the team so he ordered almost the entire menu and my stomach literally cannot handle. The food is good here with authentic Taiwanese cuisine. I only took photo of two food items because of its sheer size: the fried chicken bun and the peanut ice cream. These two are good but definitely for sharing of 2-3pax.
There were five of us (3 girls) and ordered 12 main dishes. I was literally laying on the floor back the rest of the day because I could not walk with the amount of food inside me. Some of the mains, 1 plate alone is already more than enough for 1 person can you imagine how much food there was.
A nice dog friendly place serving a small selection of Taiwanese classics underneath a hbd complex. If you get a chance try the savoury sweet ice cream peanut rolls.
Very good experience. There is usually a lot of people so I would recommend coming earlier. Last order at 9pm close at 10pm. Staff are very friendly and courteous. Food is great and scrumptious 😋. The bao and Niu York fried rice is great.
Their online marketing is strong. Therefore you get lots of insta-youngster eating here. The happy hour helps too. That said, beer selection is pretty decent.
However the prices you pay for the food, dining comfort and experience is far from value for money, the queue notwithstanding.
The tables are cramped so tightly, a slim person will have to turn sideways to get past other tables and you might still bump into dishes on other tables. Too close for my comfort to have other people's body parts come so close to passing my food and drinks!
With so many people cramped into such a small space, you can also imagine the din. Can't even hear what my dining partner is saying but can hear so clearly the many pretentious ascents all around.
Service is prompt and super efficient, but the food did take a long while to arrive. Nonetheless, there were a few instances the customers and delivery dude was frustrated with the wait. Certainly a highly profitable business 👍
The beef fried rice, salted bun and ice cream were all excellent.
The food is yummy and value for money. Seating is a bit tight but that’s because they are really popular!
First time coming here, and I LOVED IT! Staff very friendly especially, Joyce. She is very helpful and thoughtful. Food is superb, i HIGHLY recommend the, 1. ***Herbal Braised Pork Rice (ESPECIALLY GOOD!!!), 2. Niu Yolk Fried Rice, 3. XO fried rice, 4. San Bei Mushroom and 5. Beef Noodles Soup. The restaurant is abit small, remember to go to their facebook page then book a table. it will be busy at night. My family member loved their beer. I will come back here many times more!!! MUST COME! !!!TRUE WRITTEN REVIEW!!!!!
Was packed even at 11+am, early lunch crowd + small dining area. Service was swift and staff are friendly.
Food's good & big portion, recommend to order the gua bao, ice cream roll, beef noodles and xiao cai.
Huge love! I just love it.
Their dishes are few level higher version of our nomad foods.
Simple noodle, dumplings and fried rices taste just outstanding.
And they serve craft beers and selection is also great. IPAs goes with those dishes pretty good.
Suggest to arrive on or before they open it me booking if you want to avoid long waiting. Yes they are so popular!!
This is my 2nd time within a week dining in a different outlet. The previous was at Jalan Besar.
The quality are very similar for both outlets. Again, the Beef in the Beer noodles were simply delicious; melts in your mouth.
This outlet has only limited seating area (40 chairs) and has a 1hr window to eat. If you plan to dine after 6pm, do make a reservation. Otherwise, no need to if dine before.
Been wanting to try this for a while and totally meet our expectation! We came around 12pm for lunch on Sunday and was seated directly. Ordered the food via QR code, very fast and easy. Nice and cozy place, felt very homey. The food was served very quick aside from the ice cream.
All the foods were cooked perfectly with great quality. The Gua Bao was especially extraordinary; explosion of flavors with great texture. We really liked the Prawn Toast as well. The Red Hot Chili Dumpling Noodle was thick and chewy as how I like it; the dumplings were very nice. The XO Fried Rice wasn't very special, but tasted good.
Overall very satisfied with the food and experience, although the price is at the higher end :)
Definitely worth a visit but long waiting time (despite reservations made)
Made a reservation for Fri, 7pm but was only seated ard 745-8pm as making a reservation only means that you would have a priority in the queue :’)
There were a lot of people so honestly I would recommend just coming later after 730pm as you can save time queuing since there weren’t much ppl waiting for a seat (just a lot of diners finishing up their food)
Nonetheless, food was really good! Portion sizes just nice for sharing, highly recommend all the food in the pictures because it was cooked to perfection✨
Personally, I prefer the suan mei lager rather than the wintermelon lager, somehow the wintermelon lager had a stronger beer alcohol aftertaste/ bitter notes.
All in all, vibes were good and dishes were served relatively fast, def a must visit 👍🏻✨
I recently had the pleasure of savoring the exquisite flavors of Taiwanese cuisine at Abundance, and I must say it was an absolute delight for my taste buds. The attention to authenticity in every dish is commendable, transporting me straight to the vibrant streets of Taiwan.
From the first bite to the last, the dishes showcased a perfect balance of savory and aromatic spices. The culinary expertise is evident in every detail, from the impeccable presentation to the rich, complex flavors that left me craving more.
The menu at Abundance reflects a true passion for Taiwanese food, offering a diverse array of options that cater to every palate. The friendly and attentive staff added to the overall enjoyable dining experience, making me feel welcomed and ensuring that each dish was a memorable journey.
If you're a fan of Taiwanese cuisine or just eager to embark on a flavorful adventure, Abundance is a must-visit. My taste buds thank me, and yours will too!
Interesting fusion of Asian flavours into the Taiwanese cuisine. The gua bao has pickled mustard greens (xian cai) & sweet peanut crumbs on top of a thick piece of braised pork belly aka kong bak. The CCB has a thick piece of crispy fried chicken and top with Thai-like salad (I believe it’s green papaya). Eat the CCB immediately owise the bun will be soaked by the salad dressing. I’ll eat the CCB again. The Red Hot Chilli dumplings are big, with pork & prawn inside. Not too spicy. The mala popcorn chicken is very crispy & flavourful, however it gets spicier and saltier as you eat more. The Niu Yolk Fried Rice comes with boneless shortribs slices & onsen egg. Peanut & black sesame ice-cream rolls consists of vanilla ice-cream block that is wrapped by crepe that has a layer of ground peanuts / black sesame. Quite innovative but not too special. Overall, the food is good 👍🏼
Came here on a Saturday night at around 830pm and it's almost at full capacity. We ordered at the counter and food arrived shortly after - fast service! All the dishes were extremely delicious and the dish that sealed the deal was the beef noodle soup - the noodle was handmade and cooked al Dante and the braised beef was soft and tender! We ended the meal with peanut ice cream roll dessert and the taste of it brought us back to good old Taiwan Night Market days! Overall, very satisfied with the meal albeit a tad expensive.
True to its name, the place serves an abundant variety of dishes.
I picked a peanut ice-cream wrap and a ginger tea to warm up after the cool snack.
The place looks colourful but it really felt extremely cramped. I could hardly shift my chair as it was already fully backed up against a glass wall and I hard to squeeze in to be seated.
Others looked very happy with their meals... I wish I had something healthy to eat here. Oh well.
The gua bao and niu yolk fried rice were exceptional for me. The beef that came with the fried rice melts in the mouth. It's so tender and soft even after 30 minutes in the open. The fried rice was smooth and silky. The gua bao has a very good combination. The stewed pork was flavoured with herbs and braised sauce. My colleagues and I also tried the prawn fried rice and beef noodles. And they loved everything and particularly liked the beef noodle soup. The beef chunks was so tender and soft to bite. We even got a free set of Mala popcorn chicken with our orders. The popcorn chicken was crispy but tender. The food here is really good. Highly recommended. I will come back to try other things too.
Food is not bad, but I don’t think I would queue for it. And also the portions are a bit on the small side for the price. The tables were also spaced really close to each other that we did not really feel comfortable talking cause the next table can hear every single thing that we were talking about. Because we could hear every single thing the next table is talking about 😂
All in all, if I eat here again next time I would probably take away.
If you are going during dinner time, ensure that everyone is there before you are given a table. Service wise is good as warning are given in advance to manage expectations.
Food is a surprise, good! Two of us ordered four dishes, which includes their signature dessert that taste like Min Jiang Kueh with Vanilla Ice-Cream. Another surprise is that Niu Yolk Fried Rice, beef strips that’s soft and tender.
The place is small and don’t expect great ambience but the food is definitely worth a visit there.
We agree with the other reviews. We enjoyed everything we had here particularly the dumplings and guabao. Ice cream was a little interesting as they have coriander in it. Emperor sprouts or tiwanchai had nice chunks of garlic in it and cooked just right.
Service was efficient and good. They allowed us to have the tail end of the happy hour beers while we were waiting for our table.
The downside is that the space can get a little noisy, and pricing is a little of a premium but I am sure each item requires a lot of time and care for the preparation. We paid SGD120+ for 3 of us, which is about the price of most meals in Singapore these days.
The place was full on a Saturday afternoon, so it’s best to have a reservation. My order was mixed up for a moment but this was fixed quickly. Food-wise—the gua bao was really delicious.
Food was great but the wait time is just too long. When I arrived at 11am there was no queue. I ordered 3 dishes and the last one came at 1140.
A well-hidden gem in the Redhill HDB estate. The Taiwanese cuisine at Abundance was a pleasure experience for us. The authenticity in each dish transported me to the lively streets of Taiwan, with a good combination of savoury, acidity, spices and texture evident from the first bite to the last. Their culinary expertise left us wanting for more.
The friendly and attentive staff enhanced the overall dining experience, making us feel welcomed and ensuring each dish was prepared with effort.
If you're a foodie person, Abundance is a must-visit dining location.
Saw this on TikTok and everything looked good. Came on a Friday night and the place was quite crowded but had sufficient seats available for 2 pax. We sat outside but that was fine as they had installed fans and it was pretty cooling.
We ordered 3 sides, a main and a dessert to share. The sides especially the prawn toast and CCB were so good! CCB especially, the chicken was definitely the star, so thick, juicy and crispy. Prawn toast blew our expectations as well. First time having such a crispy toast! The fried rice was great as well. However I felt the beef was abit of a supporting cast in this case. Prawn dumplings were good but not as light and silky as those at DTF. Dessert was an interesting touch! It was quite hard to eat without utensils as the icecream and the filling inside was just spilling everywhere after awhile. Also, there should be an option to not have coriander as not everyone enjoys raw veg in their dessert.
But overall, really good! Under $60 for everything. Left with a happy fully belly.
Great food. Staff are attentive and proactive. Highly recommend the Gua bao, beef noodle, niu yolk fried rice and the ice cream roll. And most importantly, the lychee oolong tea. Beef for fried rice plus the yolk is a perfect combination. Beef for beef noodle is extremely soft. Gua bao is super soft and tender. The lychee oolong tea is mega thirst quenching and a totally different dimension to the meal overall.
Visited abundance once again today. Service and food quality are up to standard. Had the Mee Sua today and was great!
We queued outside for about 20-30 mins at around 2pm on a public holiday. Suggest to make reservation if you can. There are limited indoor and outdoor seatings. Indoor with aircon but small so is a little noisy when it’s crowded. Outdoor is super hot on a hot day eating hot food.
The Gua bao is very nice and well balanced dish. Suggest to try this if you like fatty meat. Fried rice is average, prawn paste chicken cutlet is crispy and nice. I love the dessert: peanut roll ice cream. If I go back again, will order again the Gua Pao and ice cream peanut roll.

🌟 9/10
📍 🇸🇬 Near Red Hill MRT (Another outlet at Jalan Besar)
💰 Expected Damage ($15-$20)
Lying innocently under a HDB located 2 min walk from Red Hill MRT lies an autentic Taiwanese restaurant. 🐍 Do come early (recommended to reserve in advance) as snaking queus form fast during lunch and dinner hours.
They are known for their buns especially their Gua Bao and Crispy Chicken Bun (CCB) each cost $7.9++ which is Thicccc and justifiable for their price. Their Salted Egg Bun is pricer at $13.9++ but the prawns are massive and not too gelat!
Their XO Fried Rice ($11.9++) is well done with oil coating the grains of rice individually. However, the portion is not huge, so do get some sides with it too. If you are looking for a more filling alternative, go for their noodles such as the Dark-plings noodles ($9.9++) which are pork and shrimp dumplings coated with dark sauce. Extra noodles for $1.9++!!
And before you leave, you have to try their Peanut Ice Cream Roll ($6.9++) which is vanilla ice cream, peanuts and corriander wrapped in popiah skin. Might be icky for coriander haters but I love the combination of fresh minty taste that complements the dessert. Their Jalan Besar outlet is bigger so do come early or place a reservation if you are planning to visit the Red Hill one!
Was looking what to have for brunch and found this branch, been wanting to try the main branch at jalan besar.
From the reviews, it seemed its always crowded, tried to make reservation but only 2pm onwards available. Decided to just drop by and try our luck. As it was raining and we were quite early, we were able to grab a table without the need of queueing.
We ordered the xiao cai, prawn paste chicken fried rice and darkplings noodles
Xiao cai was letdown... there was too much of beansprouts.. not well balance.. for this DTF's still better
Prawn paste chicken fried rice... the chicken was on the slightly salty side, love the crispy texture and the fried rice was great
Darkplings noodles was the Star of the dish. Our favorite. The texture of the noodles was nice, very QQ. Love the seasoning. The dumplings was good too.
Did at takeaway for Sunday dinner. Portions are very generous. The fried rice had more prawns than rice and they are fresh and firm. The beef noodle had slices of tender beef and a solid thick stock that’s flavourful.
If there is one thing to improve, I think it’s the packaging. The paper bowl went soggy after a while.
Food is great
Service is only good cause there’s a lot of patrons
Atmosphere nothing much to mention as it’s a small restaurant.
2nd visit on 16 may.
Still amazing as always! Added new photos. Do call early for reservation :)
1st visit: Food is absolutely amazing. The Niu fried rice was my favourite. The beef is perfect and the truffle add to the taste of the fried rice. This dish is a must try. The beef noodles soup is delicious too!! Queue was long but we got seated within 25 mins. Would definitely come again.
Stopped by here for lunch. Everything was tasty and nicely seasoned. My favorite was the beef noodles! The beef is super tender and the soup is delicious. Served with spring onions though I think it would be even better with some cilantro on top as well! Will be back cause we want to try a few of their other side dishes that we didn't have the stomach capacity for.
Visited before 12pm on a weekday before the lunch crowd. Service was great, staff came to me almost immediately. Brought us the menu and even shared with us some of their signatures. As my companion does not take beef, didn’t manage to try the beef noodles.
The prawn toast is very interesting. Haven’t had such a combination before. Worth giving it a try if you’re adventurous.
The crispy chicken bun is ok. I do not like my bun soggy from the juices. Will definitely try the pork belly one for my next visit.
Craft beers’ a bit pricey, I probably won’t be having beer at this establishment. Overall good food, good service. 👍🏼
Abundance in the heart of an old neighbourhood! 💫
The brightly lit Abundance signage manifests itself with a constant flow of customers in the small eatery just below block 63A in the Red Hill hood. I’ve read reviews that the food in Abundance is overpriced but after trying the food here, I would say they are worth every cent!
The Prawn Paste Chicken with Fried Rice tastes surprisingly homecooked and not overly flavourful like how many restaurants would have cooked the dish. The Bacon Cabbage is a strange mix of garlic and bacon stir fried with the veg. It’s very refreshing and tasty! Lastly, we order the signature Gua Bao to share. It’s a Taiwanese recipe of steamed bun stuffed with stewed pork belly, pickled mustard greens, coriander and peanuts. Very interesting! 👍
I don’t mind visiting Abundance again on a weekday with less crowd.

Pretty awesome stuffs they have got there.
The buns are fragrant & unique. Just the right mix for local buds.
Pork & Shrimp with Fresh Noodles is chewy & tasty. I thought it is better than the Fried rice with Pork cutlet.
Worth the price, go give a try.
This shop is always happening, pack with people whenever I pass by. I didn’t had to wait long for sat dinner on a rainy day. The food menu is interesting
Personally enjoyed the beef noodle the most as I enjoy the good noodle texture. Soup can be beefy ish for people who don’t generally enjoy beef.
Their pork bao is interesting! It has so many flavours and dimensions all on one plate. Not my fav but worth trying
The crab fried rice was decent portion. This is a simple yet fulfilling dish:)))
Managed to try CCB, lu rou fan and chilli dumpling noodles. Lu rou fan was delicious, my personal fav. They were generous with the dumplings, packed with meat & of a higher spice level than usual. CCB chicken was nice but the mango slaw + thai peanut sauce tasted a bit like yusheng. Depends on your preference.
Love the food, the fried rice with Prawn paste chicken is a must to order! Fried rice have a wok hey taste! Their Kiam Sng Di beer is very unique!
Other dish we ordered include the Malay popcorn chicken, braised Beef rice and the hot chilli dumpling😊😊😊
The beef bowl pictured and videoed was the standout
The mango salad inside the crispy chicken bao added a nice freshness
The peanut ice cream dessert roll was not for me personally but can see the appeal for some others :)
1 hour dining time though!
Nice cosy eatery that's a stone's throw away (opposite side of the road) from Redhill MRT Station. Food is good and flavorful. Think not really 100% Taiwanese cuisine but a bit of creative twist to it. The beef from the beef noodle soup is very tender and flavorful, and thick noodles are the chewy kind. The Niu Yolk fried rice is tasty. Similar to Din Tai Fung just like the Xiao Cai. The Gua Bao is a unique version of braised pork belly bun with generous portion of braised vegetable in it. And the deep fried Golden Egg made of century egg wrapped in wanton skin is not oily. Ordered a bit too much but still couldn't resist the temptation of trying the popiah skin wrapped ice cream. Place is a tad small and cramped considering the crowd/popularity, and got a bit warm and stuffy, but it's ok and just need to wait 10-15 mins as the turnaround is quite fast.
Visited twice. Small casual neighborhood eatery that is relatively inexpensive.
But reservations are a farce - whether you made one and showed up on time or not, you will join the queue, which is somewhat dishonest. Business is generally brisk, and with a small seating capacity, be prepared for a minimal 15-30 min wait, or longer during peak.
Food in general was okay (various fried rice, beef noodles, dessert etc.). Baos, and balsamic fries were good eats and really worth the calories, but not really enough to return given the long queue/current seating arrangements.
红油抄手面 - 3.75 stars
Pretty standard.
Vegetable - 3.5 stars
Mala popcorn chicken - 4.5 stars
Juicy and flavourful.
Salted egg prawn bao - 4 stars
Everything was very flavourful but pretty greasy.
Ordered 4 food items. For the buns we ordered CCB and Gua bao. They were not too bad. There were lots parsley in the latter.
Ordered Prawn toast 2 pieces and got served 4. We realized he keyed in the wrong one but I thot it’s okay we will just have more food. The toast was too oily. Don’t really recommend.
We were then served beef rice when I ordered beef noodles. I told the lady that he got the wrong order, that’s when she showed me the receipt. We felt abit obligated to have the food I didn’t order. Was really disappointed as I was really craving for the noodles ☹️ I guess I should have asked him to repeat the order to me.
I think the food is alright in general. Make sure you double check the food order to avoid disappointment.
We were lucky to get the last available table, coz a long queue has formed by the time we exited. Love the food puns (the menu board showcased some interesting cocktails, eg. Twisties curry sour! & even their staff T-shirt read “Bun intended”), but love the food even more, especially the Peanut ice cream roll! 😆
Must-tries include the Peanut ice cream roll, with its thin popiah skin & fragrant peanuts (reminds me of those in Jiufen, Taiwan), as well as the Gua Bao, which is fatty braised pork belly in between fluffy bun (the addition of peanuts really elevates the taste)!
IG @pingguo301
Came on a PH at 1pm, waited around 25min before getting a seat. Ordering is over the counter and service crew is very friendly.
Ordered the 红油抄手 ($9.90), Beef noodles ($16.90), Niu Yolk fried rice ($19) + Tobiko ($2), Gua Bao ($7.90), Crispy chicken bun ($7.90) and Peanut ice cream roll ($6.90). Standard of food here is pretty good, but my personal favourite was the Gua Bao and Niu Yolk fried rice!
红油抄手 was rich in filling but the meat was quite dense altogether; prawn had a great texture and the sauce was great too. The Beef noodles came with 4 slices of beef brisket which were the kind that melts in your mouth. The noodle texture was chewy and great, and I absolutely love the broth. Niu yolk fried rice came as a bit of surprise; was reading reviews that it’s similar to DTF fried rice but somehow with the onsen egg and tobiko mixed in, there was texture, flavour and creaminess! Also the beef short ribs were so good and somehow my family thought we were having pork jowl.
The Gua Bao was amazing. I’m someone who’s very picky with melty pork (don’t like them too fat) but I didn’t hesitate eating this even though there was a fair share of fats. The meat was so tender too and along with the peanut and cilantro, it was pure umami. The crispy chicken bun had a huge slab of fried chicken and along with it was mango slaw which balanced the fried chicken. Last but not least, the peanut ice cream was huge but it’s exactly what you expect it to taste like so there wasn’t a wow factor. Drinks wise, the lychee oolong tea was really good, not too sweet but cleared the palate. Will be back again to try out other dishes!
Hidden gem in the Lengkok Bahru estate!
You’ll find amazing Taiwanese dishes with a contemporary twist.
I’d highly reccommend to try the Gua Bao, Dark-plings Noodles and Peanut Ice Cream Roll.
If you're a foodie, Abundance is a must-visit dining location.
Had the Beef Noodles and XO Fried rice. Beef brisket was very tender and had the melt in your mouth feel while the broth was very flavourful as well. XO fried rice on the other hand was also nicely done with a nice balance of XO flavour and egg. As the indoor eating area is pretty small, most customers would have to sit in the outdoor area. While I would say that the food is definitely good, it is not very worth the price considering the portion size and location. Do come down earlier to get a seat as there’s always a queue during lunch/dinner hours.
I've visited Abundance a few times and I love the food. The dishes on the menu are not common for Singapore. It's such a treat! Thank you for expanding the menu and keeping the quality excellent. The friends I've recommended it to love it as well. It's great that they accept CDC vouchers and pets are welcome at the outdoor seating area. Make sure to book in advance because they are very popular!
The braised beef noodles had a really flavorful broth, beef was super tender, disintegrated the moment my folk softly pressed on it. I loved the mala popcorn chicken, it was served with crispy fried thai basil, the outside has a noticeable yet mild numbness of mala taste while the inside is juicy and bouncy, too bad it was lunch time or else I would have ordered a beer to accompany the chicken.
The dried shrimp fried rice was good too, but the dried shrimps are too salty for my taste. I liked it that it was not oily yet everything is shiningly coated.
At last, we had vanilla ice cream wrapped in popiah with cilantros and crushed peanut. My palate was trying to make a sense out of cilantro and ice cream combination. It was really good experience. The ice cream has the texture of shaved ice which can be seen when I used the fork to scrap out some.
Food was served quick despite lunch time. I was impressed how well ventilated this small air-con place was. Fried food were ordered constantly ar every table but no smoke lingered in the air, proofed by no smoky smell in our clothes after we left.
food was good!! came with my parents and their friends; staff was really friendly :)) ordered a lot but only got pics of two dishes; would come again!!
I can’t remember when the last time I gave my 5-star review. But I think this lovely shop deserves it. As an expat from Taiwan, I always love to visit restaurants serving Taiwanese food and I am so excited to have a good experience of hometown food here. Gwa bao tastes just like what I’ve ever had in my country, it’s pretty authentic! And beef noodle, so satisfying no matter in portion or in taste, I like the soup, broth smoothes my tai-stomach, so good.
One more thing.
I like the chill vibe. It might be easy, or not so difficult, to provide a real taiwanese taste food in Singapore, but to serve it in bistro style is what I appreciate. Will visit again asoon and recommend it to my friends.
The food here was impressive! I didn’t expect the seasoning can be that excellent. Nice presentation of the dishes. As a Taiwanese, I would say the cuisine here is more like a fusion style despite the fact that it’s a TW food oriented restaurant. I liked how they well seasoned their wonton. The spicy sauce was pretty legit. There was a flavor that I couldn’t point it out what exactly that was but it just brought out the whole spirit of the food. Truffle beef egg fried rice was another interesting combination. The meat was tender and I like they use additional poached egg as a focal point. 😀 dessert that we opted for was spring roll peanut ice-cream with cilantro, i would suggest to use mint in lieu of cilantro, it may be more harmonious.
Hidden (well, not that hidden!) gem in a totally unexpected neighbourhood area. Run by good people!
Tried the food twice. Once dine in and once takeaway.
Food
Dark-pling noodles
Crispy chicken bun
Pork belly bun
Beef fried rice
Crab fried rice
(They have cool names but I want to write about the food!)
Excellent stuff. Slightly modern but traditional Taiwanese food with some local hints (the peanut Thai sauce for the CCB). Tasty, well made and a great balance of old school food but also for a modern palate. Noodles weee chewy, rice had enough ingredients. But without trying to be too analytical, this is just "really good" food.
Takeaway was excellent. Noodles still chewy, buns intact!
And they serve cool beers too!!!!
Modern Taiwanese-style inspired dishes with a good balance of the savoury, sweet and spicy! A-bo-then?
How do i start? hmm... i would say i envy those who stays near this cafe/restaurant/bistro. They serve good quality & tasty food standards. Let me break down...

Just to be fair, the price point depends on personal level. If you have been enjoying this type of food which pretty similar to Din Tai Fung cuisine type. This price point is definitely worth it and reasonable. Besides the fact that they do not serve coffee & tea, which i would encourage them to start one if could. ANYWAY, strongly reccomended to order NIU YOLK(Beef Fried Rice) if you visit them and happen to read my comments :) Thumbs UP for that dish! I love it and will be back there again when i head down to IKEA next time. :)
I was sceptical at first, as I'm not a big fan of Taiwanese cuisine. Their fried rice is light and fluffy, the added tobiko gave it a good crunch. The star to me is their prawn toast, although it was slightly greasy. Overall they've paired the ingredients very well, giving them a good contrast in both flavour and texture.
The gua bao is very nice, with juicy meat, sour veg and peanuts. All these combination is perfect. The mala noodle is quite spicy, but it is tasty and sour. The dessert banana spring roll is special and nice too. The food are affordable and yet very nice. Location at the neighbourhood. The staff are friendly and ask us if everthing is ok. They do sell different types of beer but we didn't try.
Don’t let the short queues turn you away. The food and super friendly owner is worth the wait. Must tries include the beef noodles, fish burger and unique popiah ice cream for dessert. A thriving start-up that deserves support.
Fun, low key atmosphere. Great food and amazing beer selection (including a delicious sour beer!)
I'd recommend everything on the menu, but you should absolutely try the pork bao, peanut butter popiah ice cream, and all the side dishes. Cannot wait to go back!!
Our second visit; Love their homey food!
Really authentic Taiwanese food located at the bottom of a hdb block in Redhill.
Tried their beef noodles ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and my friend tried the wagyu beef fried rice. Both were good!
Not pictured is the Gua Bao, also another delicacy from Taiwan that most restaurants here do not have.
Place was packed!
Had the Crispy Chicken Bun (8/10) and the Gua Bao (9/10) which were extremely generous for the price point of $8 each. The meat was juicy and had very good flavour!
Also had the Truffle Beef Fried Rice (8/10) which was pretty good, though it wasn't extremely impressive.
The drinks were really good, had the Lychee Oolong Fizzy Soda (10/10) which was only 4.90, so it wasn't expensive at all, would definitely have it again!
Pretty good fried rice and chilli oil dumplings (not spicy) to rival even DTF! The fried chicken bao was Awesome but there's too much slaw.. There's craft beers on tap too which rocks. Would go back!
A quaint shop located amongst the HDB blocks which is easily accessed by walking from Redhill MRT.
The food is great tasting, and we had to take away cause we ordered too much. Craft beer options are good.
Food: The steamed buns are ok, the rest are just average, especially the drunken chicken noodles which are too heavy and taste bitter, not recommended🥲
Pork chop tasteless
Due to the environment of the housing estate, it is not recommended to eat outside as there are too many insects 🐜 flying onto the stage.
Not worth it in terms of price😕
Came here right after opening on Sunday. There was an empty seat indoors and I was able to get in right away. It was full by 12:00, so it might be a good idea to come a little early.
Most of the dishes are a little expensive considering the size of the restaurant. I thought so, but considering the quality, quantity, and taste, I was satisfied! The beer was also cold and delicious.
The staff at the restaurant also brought out sharing plates and paper towels, and the service was also good.
The bun and peanut ice cream are especially recommended! The ice cream has a chewy skin♡
Used twice for dinner.
It's always crowded! There was a line outside even on weekdays.
But the taste is definitely perfect. The buns, fried rice, and noodles all taste good.
The shrimp dumplings are also plump.
I wonder if it's worth the wait, but if you can make a reservation, it might be better!
I suddenly wanted to eat at Abundance late at night on a rainy day. Fortunately, it was open until 10 o'clock in the night and left a seat for me late at night. As a Taiwanese, this is actually the first time I have eaten gua bao overseas. I never expected that I would eat such delicious gua bao for the first time. The same goes for peanut ice cream. A delicacy that I thought could only be seen in night markets in Taiwan has actually appeared in Singapore. I think the taste of both of them is not much different from what I remember. I highly recommend it here! And you can also try the most famous Taiwanese braised beef noodles! The beef is stewed very well and the soup base is also very good. Drink, the noodles are also the more elastic type of wide noodles that I like. You may have to wait in line for more than ten minutes if you go there on weekdays.
Delicious, with a Taiwanese taste! But the price is a bit high 😅
