Reviews of Amano
Pasta was delicious both baked crab and seafood aglio olio (portion not huge). Appreciate the 1 for 1 deal and lovely house pour happened to be on promo $9 per glass. Service was very friendly casual. Will be back to try other dishes. Thank you!
Really quiet spot in the Bukit Timah neighbourhood that I’ve been wanting to check out for a while and finally got to go to with my family. Food was so good and authentic, and the waitress was very responsive and interactive with us. Loved the decoration in there as well, especially the La Dolce Vita poster in the bathroom :) star of the menu for me were the Prosciutto Pizza and the homemade mayo/tartar sauce that came along with the Truffle Fries. So good. Definitely on the expensive side but couldn’t recommend it more if you want to spoil yourself and your stomach
Take out the Sous Vida Pork and Hawaiian pizza plus Pork sausages.
We love the both the pizza and the sausages.
Will definitely come back to try their ravioli and other pizzas.
An absolute gem tucked deep in Namly estate. Amano's does great pizzas which are generously sized with a nice crunchy crust and fluffy dough.
The rocket and prosciutto pizza is reliably good. Prawn and bacon was also excellent.
Look out for their weekday promos which are an exceptional deal for the taste and quality of the food.
Staff were polite and kept our water glasses topped up.
Good place for a nice and laid-back weeknight dinner.
Parking can be tricky since it's in a residential area, but normally don't have to walk too far to get one one weekdays.
I find the tiramisu a tad cloying on the sweetness, would give other options a go next visit.
Have take away deals buy 2 free 1. Dine deals 1 for 1. All day. Friday to Sunday is lunch only 1 for 1 deal.
After reading good reviews about Amano, we decided to give it a try for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they offer a 1-for-1 option even on weekends, making it quite pocket-friendly. However, our experience was marred by the lack of hospitality in the service department.
Throughout our meal, the service was efficient but lacked warmth. Staff interactions were brief and to the point, missing the usual niceties and smiles that enhance the dining experience. They apparently smiled more amongst themselves than to customers. No greetings when we entered and leave. Except for the part time Chinese girl.
As for the food, it was above average, but not exceptional. The highlight was definitely the pasta dishes, with the crab pasta in pink sauce standing out as a nostalgic favorite from my visits in Frankfurt. However, the pizzas, we ordered 4 cheese and truffle mushroom, left much to be desired. The flavors were underwhelming, and it was difficult to discern the promised four cheeses.
One particular disappointment was the bacon ravioli in brown butter sauce. While the texture was pleasing, the overwhelming saltiness made it difficult to enjoy more than a single piece. Fortunately, my dining companion had a heartier appetite to balance things out.
Being a tiramisu aficionado, I was eagerly anticipating the dessert. Sadly, the tiramisu fell short of expectations. It was overly sweet, and some parts of the sponge cake failed to absorb the liquor or cream properly, resulting in distinct layers that detracted from the overall enjoyment. At $13, it was definitely not worth a repeat order.
In conclusion, Amano offers a mixed experience. While the 1-for-1 option and decent pasta dishes make it worth considering, the lackluster service and inconsistent quality of certain dishes leave room for improvement.
Hopefully, the next visit in the future would be a better one.
This place serves fantastic pasta and pizza. They were very savoury and delectable. Full of flavour and every bite was very satisfying. Portion size was perfect. Ambience and service is great. I've eaten here twice so far and I'm sure to be back soon.
Reservation recommended. Cozy ambience. Prompt service from staffs. Crab meat Fettucine was great! Generous serving of prosciutto on pizza. Pizza was slightly soggy/greasy due to generous amount of cheese. Seafood Spaghetti was alright. Veal Shank was salty but flavourful.
A hidden gem in the middle of a neighborhood. Only way to get there is to drive.
Food in general is a good variety and decent quality. Prices are much friendlier than the other Italian restaurants in the Bukit Timah area. And service has been excellent.
Food was excellent. They have a very good variety of pasta, pizza and others. Had the prime rib and lasagna as well as breaded mushroom. Beef was very tender, done just nicely, mushrooms were crispy and the truffle sauce went vert nicely. Lasagna was excellent but a tad too cheesy.
Service is also top notch.
Was quite easy to get a table on a Saturday evening though it was kinda full when we left at 8pm. Parking is available just in front of the restaurant, or if its full you can park at the landed properties.
Would be back again to try the other dishes.
This place is gst free. Servers are very friendly and smiley. Ordered a meaty pizza and is different from the usual tomato based. Preferred the seafood risotto. Food can be less salty for my liking though. Overall is a pleasant experience.
This is definitely a hidden gem at Bukit Timah area. It's deep into the residential area, somewhere behind HCJC. Came here to celebrate Birthday. Service was top notch, food is reasonably priced with excellent quality and taste. The house pour wine and beer promo are great deals! The pizza in particular is worth a mention, the dough is chewy and tasty, simply love it! I'll be back again, for sure!
there are only a dozen or so tables inside, with a cozy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the service was fast - it felt like my pizza was served only a few minutes after I ordered it! I really liked the entree (burrata cheese and prosciutto ham), although the pizza and dessert were also very good.
The price was reasonable, especially compared to other Italian places around Bukit Timah.
Great italian food. Not too noisy on a weekend. Pizza was fresh and the crust was crispy. Wished the pasta was more al-dente. Service was great and friendly.
Lovely and homely ambience in a residential neighbourhood. Ordered mushroom soup, truffle mushroom pizza, and triple cheese ravioli.
All the dishes were delicious.
Service was excellent. Pls keep it up. Nice food.
Just a stone's throw away from sixth avenue station, the restaurant is located in quiet neighborhood.
Visited on a Sunday evening and the places was fairly empty, but Midway through our meal, more people arrived.
One of the male staff weren't as friendly but the other service staff were generally polite.
The interior was simple yet elegant. Despite the small space, the noise level was not as loud.
We ordered the burrata pizza ($28), meat lover pizza ($28) as well as the porcini ravioli ($24).
The pizza crust was well baked. Unlike thick doughs, the crust was thin yet chewy. The burrata pizza was light and refreshing, the tomato and pesto sauce complements the soft cheese. It was a refreshing pizza to cleanse the palate between pizzas/pasta.
The meat lover pizza is slightly more surfeiting as it was slightly greasy, but still delicious nonetheless.
I would say the ravioli would be my fave out of the 3 dishes. The pasta was cooked al dente and was stuffed with porcini mushroom. The earthy almost meaty scent of the shroom with the creamy shallot sauce was a match made in heaven. Though I do recommend sharing this dish as I found it to be a bit surfeiting with more bites.
The initial bill came to be about $88. As we had the Entertainer App which had a 1 for 1 deal, the final bill was around $65+
Overall a very cozy and enjoyable experience. Despite the price, the food was scrumptious. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice date spot.
Hidden Italian food place in Bukit Timah. Used Burpple one for one for their pasta - apparently, they were out of ravioli and could only serve tortellini but in the same sauce as the ravioli dish.
The pasta was quite well done, we enjoyed the dishes. We 加料 (added extra ingredients) so the total cost was almost $28 each.
Order Prosciutto De Parma pizza taste awesome and crispy, Seafood Linguine and Grilled Lamb Rack taste tender and the black pepper sauce nice fragrance waiter very friendly true moly authentic Italian food although far from urban but it is near full house highly recommended definitely will return to try other dishes
Superb lunch at Amano. 😋
Love the sauteed prawns for starters. Really tasty and aromatic.
The vongole linguine and seafood linguine were superb too.
Will be back again!
Burrata Pizza S$28++: fresh burrata cheese, sweet tomatoes & a drizzle of basil pesto.
Foie Gras & Truffle Tagliatelle S$32++: 90g pan-seared foie gras topped on infused TRUFFLE cream pasta.
One of my fav Italian joints. Unassuming little place with friendly staff and excellent pizza! I really like the tasty bread like crust. The prawn and bacon pizza and the mushroom pizzas are good!
Had the Quattro Formaggi (lots of different cheese) pizza and the Prosciutto Ham pizza eat the cheese pizza when its fresh to better appreciate the cheeses.
Salad is good. Crab Pasta quite delicious. Salami on pizza is too salty
Date night at the same cosy bistro that lanoona use to reside and the food didn’t disappoint. Love the fresh use of seafood in the pasta and also the truffle pasta! Wines were priced reasonably.
Pastas were pretty delicious, esp the mushroom tagliatelle! Burrata appetiser is generous but disappointed they served the burrata semi frozen.
Pizzas and pastas here are very good. Had the breaded mushroom, mushroom soup, ravioli and burratina and truffle mushroom pizza. All were good, would try again.
Weekday lunch often has 1-for-1 on the mains too.
Nice neighborhood Italian restaurant. Pizza was good. I think it’s sourdough pizza. The beef was a little disappointing a bit over done.
Very nice and rustic Italian location. Place kinda small but the food and ambience is nice. The staff are pretty helpful as well. Free parking too.
Cozy little italian with great pasta, decent steak and side dishes! Would return for their pasta and wine only.
Heard good things about this restaurant. So figured it was worth the journey despite being located about a 15 mins walk from the bus stop/train station.
Vongole was rather watery, it wasn't bad, but not good either.
The lasagna felt like it was premade/frozen and would be heated up in the oven/microwave when it's being ordered. Not too sure if that's the case but sure tasted like it though.
Perhaps the pizzas are the better item to get, have not tried them, but will probably order them if I do visit again.
From the appetiser to the dessert, everything was fantastic for the price point.
The head chef loves engaging with his customers and recommends splendid wine to go with whatever dish you have ordered.
Will love to come back soom to try other dishes
Great food, but the terrible ventilation spoiled the experience. The air was heavy, warm, and smelled of other humans.

Bread basket - soft bread "focaccia" (but not really) was excellent, though small portion.
Seafood stew - excellent. Generous variety of seafood in a balanced tomato broth.
Margherita pizza - Mediocre, the base was quite wet.
Crab pasta - good
Service is excellent, delicious food serve in a neighbourhood
Had a good quick lunch at Amano The stars of the meal were the Duroc pork chop and Japanese Oysters. Service was efficient. Only the deserts - cheese cake and panacotta - did not impress. In general, satisfied and will return. Thank you!
Been here 4 times already, once for a birthday meal. Good pizza and good selection of vegetarian items, truffle mushroom pizza was our favorite. 3 cheese pizza, and manuka cheesecake were also good.
Went at odd hours to take advantage of eatigo promotion. Food is generally good (except the mushroom risotto, which needs some improvement), service excellent, quality ingredients and generous portions. Suggest pizzas for the excellent crust and the seafood linguine. Would recommend!
A delightful place if you drive or take a taxi down to this newly opened friendly restaurant. It is situated at a quiet neighborhood and they are not crowded.
They serve complimentary water and a warm bread basket. We loved the Prosciutto & Burrata and fennel sausage Orecchiette. Portions are generous and pricing reasonable with the eatigo discount.
We like their simple deco and quick service. Will try their pizza next time, they have a cute yellow pizza oven.
Really like the truffle mushroom pizza here
Excellent pizza. Come here for the pizza for sure. Pasta and other dishes are okay. The pizza is absolutely the star of the show
Went for a dinner for 6 people. All the food was fantastic. The fennel sausage pizza was out of this world - on par with anything you get in New York.
Service could be better but the food more than makes up for it.
Food was authentic. We had the truffle fries, creaminess carbonara and pepperoni pizza. Service was sincere and attentive. Ambience was cosy. A pleasant and enjoyable dining experience!
Good dining . Steak is prepared well.
The food here is delightful! We had the steak and the seafood risotto, along with a tiramisu. Excellent service by the staff and definitely a gem where you can bring your loved ones to for a quiet cosy evening away from the crowd! 👍🏼
Very lovely, definitely a hidden jem.
The pan fried New Zealand King Salmon melts in the mouth. 5 stars worthy! The carbonara is very nice tho I will prefer it to be more al dente but still definitely a 4stars worthy. Risotto is very creamy. Will return for sure. :)
A place to return. Well made pizza, fragrant, good bite and texture - simple and enjoyable. Tomato base pasta was delightful and flavourful.
Service is good but portions are small, slightly expensive. Taste is ok.
Food was delicious and most importantly the service was really good. We visited on 30Dec at dinner time, both female service staff were very friendly and helpful. Best service in an f&b establishment I've had in a long time. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
Tomato based was too salty....but staffs were friendly
Second visit after 4 years, still the same.
Highly recommend the burrata pizza here! One of the best I've had. The ambience here on a Sunday afternoon was quite chill and the service was fast.
Superb Italian food and great deal for money. A must-try is their creamless carbonara, the way it's meant to be. Delicious pizza too 🍕😋
The food was good and the service was good. The only thing was the fries came out a bit salty but they changed it for me even though I said it was okay. The other downside is the location. Quite hard to reach here without a car.
Nice quiet place, food & ambience is great. I liked the Italian meat balls. Pizza was good too. Friendly service crew.
This restaurant offers a unique and interesting dining experience. The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect for a special night out.
Good ambience.
Unpretentious place in a quiet neighborhood.
Delicious Italian food.
Service is just the right level of attentiveness.
Went there over the weekend. Pretty good, everything was up to standard. Portion might be a bit small because they're having one for one promotion. Good service, good ambience.
Tasty food at affordable prices
lovely service , delicious food
A little inaccessible via bus/ mrt, but well worth it. The salmon is amazing and the pizzas are so, so good.
delicious pizza and mushroom soup. portions are big. service fast and courteous.
Pasta is good .. al dente. Desserts were so-so. Will come back again to try other main course
This restauréis a jewel… hidden in a residential area. Great food overall.
