Reviews of Arab Street Turkish & Western Restaurant
We had a wonderful dinner at Arab Street Turkish & Western Restaurant with our family! As we were unfamiliar with Arab cuisine, we asked Boss Max for recommendations, and we were pleasantly surprised by the generous food portions and the incredible flavors.
Boss Max was extremely friendly and made our experience even more enjoyable. He won over the kids' hearts, and they are already asking to come back! It was their first time trying Arab food, and they absolutely loved the hummus.
This restaurant is truly a gem in the HDB area, offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The decoration is also worth mentioning—Boss Max has put a lot of effort into creating a cozy atmosphere, even importing all the furniture from Turkey.
We will definitely be returning for more delightful meals!
This place is simply amazing. Very nice ambience which makes it feel that you’re really in the Arab St near Sultan Mosque.
The food is excellent. The chicken and lamb taste fresh and juicy. To me, the rice is so flavourful and addictive.
It’s a great place for get-together with family and friends.
Trust me, you will never regret eating here.
Surprisingly, the dishes recommended were excellent. This restaurant is near my home. Previously, a few restaurant owners at this location did not have successful business ventures, but this one has flourished. I had always wanted to try it after seeing so many good reviews. Finally, I came here for dinner with my family last Friday night. I wasn't sure what to order and was unfamiliar with Turkish cuisine. The lady boss recommended a few dishes, and all were good. The Turkish-style setting in the housing block is another attractive feature, and their cuisine never disappoints.
Food is so good. Especially the hummus 😋 affordable and authentic Turkish food. Rare find in the neighbourhood! My fourth time here and will keep coming!
My 1st time here. Love and am suprised with the food portion and the affordable price. Definitely will not be my last here.
Thank you for the complimentary rice pudding. Its yummy!
Boss recommendation of food was amazing for 10 pax. no wastage. All the food including the dessert are tasty & fresh. tip top service & reasonable pricing.
Neighbourhood gem!
Please come support!!
Lamb Shank is so soft it falls off the bone and into my mouth, it’s tasty well seasoned and i could eat this without any teeth.
Pita bread is so soft, it’s like eating cotton, together with hummus it would send you to middle east.
However, the hygiene for the table is not well maintained, however clean a table and it will be all good. Use a clean wet wipe.
The staff are extremely friendly! They gave us a recommendation on what to eat since it’s our first time there!
First time visit this restaurant ask the boss Max for recommendations the food was delicious is big potion I manage to finish all and thanks Max for the complimentary dessert so nice of him a friendly and patience boss. Thanks Boss Max
Food came serving fast. Food and drinks taste really good. Not to mention of their services as well.
My favorite is their Adana Lamb Kebah, Hummus Lamb with Pita bread, beef pizza, baklava, Turkish tea n lastly the rice pudding. Is so unique. Yum. Do come n try for yourself. Super recommended! 😃
Chanced upon this restaurant amidst hdb flats! What a surprisingly wonderful find. I was very impressed with the huge effort at their decorations, huge themed furniture and extremely large menu! Food was served super fast and was delicious. Max and other staff were all really great making us feel welcome.
It's my first time in this restaurant. The owner is so kind, friendly and make us so comfortable. The food is outstanding and we had a good time in Arab Street Turkish Restaurant. For those who stay around Yishun the restaurant is at Blk 661. We definitely be back. Thank you Boss for the the best hospitality and the incredible cuisine with Turkish ambience.
I really liked the place and the food. We visited around 4 PM and ordered the Lamb Shak Mandi along with fried chicken and lime. The lady gave a nice explanation of the dishes, and the food was worth every penny.
Quite the family friendly place haha, the staff were really friendly and engaging. Food was pretty good, the chicken was exceptionally well seasoned and grilled! Would say it's a great place to swing by with friends with low spice tolerance, nothing too spicy here. Thank you so much for the great service!
Had a wonderful time there. The place is so cosy. The boss/Ahmad and staff is so friendly and service oriented. The food is awesome and the price is on par with the quality of the food.Looking forward to dine there again 😊
Came here on a sunday afternoon with some friends, service was great! food was good. I highley reccomend the adana lamb kebab and moussaka. Pita and hummus was yummy as well.
Went there for a neighborhood dinner with wife and son. Thought I only ordered a kebab sharing set for 2 at $49.90. Could be miscommunication as many other orders were added, including 3 small pieces of lamb, costing $35.90.
Total charges amounted to $138.05. Food honestly was mediocre as the meat (lamb and chicken) was tough and dry. That said, the experience was unique, and the boss was friendly.
Confirmed that this is the first and last time I will be there. For the price, I could have much better food somewhere nicer. Hopefully, those who gave 5 stars ratings were genuine reviewers and not fake paid reviews. Please only visit with the expectation of paying a high price in a neighborhood shop.
2nd time visit because food is good and just opposite my house. Still got free Arabic tea after meal. Good service!
great food. definitely less costly than what I would need to pay at Arab street( the actual street name). food was sumptous. Limited indoor seating. Outdoor was rather humid. Additional outdoor fans would be great. Planning for a next return. Order the mezza platter, 2 lamb chops and hallumi cheese.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Authentic and Tasty! Wide Selection of Food too. The platter is sufficent for 2 (rice, pita bread, lamb kebab, chicken kebab, grilled chicken, fries, potato wedges, grilled vegs: tomato, chilli, carrot, eggplant). For someone who doesn't like rice, the rice here is very fragrant and light to stomach. The lamb kebab is not gamey. The dessert is surprisingly light as well.
Everything is G-R-E-A-T!
We had a very unforgettable experience with the dishes as this was our 1st time having turkish meal.
Verdict: we truly enjoyed every dishes that was served!
It was so good that we practically clear all the food and this has never happen before 😂.
We had a wonderful time there, the Boss was super friendly and so was all the personal working there.
We will be back!
First visit here to try the lamb shank Mandi and it's delicious. Tender meat and the rice is flavourful and yummy. Just across from SAFRA Yishun. 👍
The food and ambience is amazing. The humus together with the pita bread is delicious. Minced chicken and cheese is delicious. Salad is fresh. Ended with fresh mint drink and complimentary apple tea. Amazing! Thank You so much for the great service!. Sorry there wasn't any photos, as we ate all before we could take the pictures.
This is my second time here and the food is just amazing! The owner always takes the time to visit every table and makes sure everything is fine. Food is extremely delicious and super affordable. There is no need to go to Haji Lane anymore with this establishment just around the corner of where I live in Yishun. Will definitely visit again!!
Very warm and generous service by the people serving us, food is delicious and authentic but very reasonably priced. Cozy and comfortable vibe. Would definitely visit often!
First time eating Arab food and this is so good🤤 the boss is friendly and people are nice too! Highly recommend!!
This is a hidden gem amidst the residential area. The food was hearty and extremely tasty; warm and comforting home food was what it felt like. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating options and the outdoor sections have shade and fan so it was not too hot.
The menu is extensive and features many turkish dishes that I rarely see in Singapore. But despite this, the food is still very affordable with excellent portions.
I highly recommend this place. I had the worst week prior to visiting this place and it has single-handedly lifted my spirits and left me ready to tackle life itself.
The food was delicious and truly authentic. Service was top-notch, attentive and friendly. Highly recommended! Everything was worth trying.
The lamb shank is sooo tender. Definitley will come back to try their other menu!!
first and definitely not the last time we’ll be visiting this restaurant. superb service, and the atmosphere here makes you feel as if you’re in town. food was scrumptious and affordable, 10/10. highly recommend for those who crave for turkish food and do not wish to travel far.
A recent visit to this Restaurant introduced me to a world of Turkish flavors, albeit with a few ups and downs.
The highlight of my evening was undoubtedly the Lamb Hummus Dish, a mouthwatering blend of tender lamb and creamy hummus that left my taste buds dancing. Served with warm Pita Bread and fresh greens, this dish truly captured the essence of authentic Turkish cuisine.
While the flavors were delightful, I couldn't help but notice a few aspects that detracted from the overall experience. The language barrier was evident, as the staff's proficiency in English was limited, hindering any meaningful conversation beyond basic pleasantries.
Furthermore, the staff seemed to have difficulty with handling change during the payment process. This small inconvenience added a minor hiccup to an otherwise enjoyable dining experience, as they would request smaller notes when presented with a larger bil.
Another downside was the pricing of the drinks, which leaned towards the higher end. This was especially noticeable when paired with my less-than-stellar coffee experience. The coffee left much to be desired and didn't live up to the culinary excellence I found in the food.
Moreover, the restaurant relied solely on ceiling fans for ventilation, and while they added a certain ambiance, they didn't quite achieve the cooling effect that an air conditioning system would provide. As a result, the atmosphere was slightly warm, and a proper air conditioning system would have made the environment cooler and more pleasant.
The presence of lights positioned behind ceiling fans caused a strobing effect. While the ornate lanterns and decorations transported me to Turkey, the strobing effect was a bit distracting.
On a positive note, the presence of Arabic or Turkish music added to the authenticity of the dining experience.
In conclusion, Arab Street Turkish & Western Restaurant offers a genuine taste of Turkey, but there are areas that could use improvement. The language barrier, difficulty with handling change, and the high drink prices detract from an otherwise promising dining experience. While the Lamb Hummus Dish shines, the coffee was a letdown. Additionally, investing in air conditioning would greatly enhance the comfort of the dining environment.
🍽️ Dish Highlights: Lamb Hummus Dish with Pita Bread and Greens 🍽️
🥤 Note on Drinks: Overpriced 🥤
☕ Coffee Verdict: Disappointing ☕
💰 Payment Experience: Staff's Handling of Change 💰
🌀 Ventilation Feedback: Ceiling Fans vs. Air Conditioning 🌀
Despite the hurdles, Arab Street Turkish & Western Restaurant remains a noteworthy stop for those craving Turkish flavors. With some fine-tuning, it could truly stand out as a culinary gem in our lovely Yishun neighborhood.
the food is delicious and price is affordable!!
love the decoration of the restaurant..
we had hummus with pita bread and lamb... power!!
chix wing with turkish rice.. superb!!
BIG UP FOR YISHUN...
Ate here with my girlfriend. She had the barbeque chicken and i had the lamb kebab.
For me, the lamb was pretty tough. Portion was also small. As you can see from the picture, the lamb is gone but the plate still looks full…
My girlfriend mentioned that her chicken was tender and delicious.
Service was great tho.
I had an amazing experience at an Arabic restaurant! The food was delicious, especially the grilled chicken and hummus. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I am so grateful for such a warm atmosphere and delightful meal. Highly recommend!
A surprisingly A as in Authentic Turkish cuisine in our housing estate in Yishun. We had the Magrebi tagine and the grilled whole Snapper for main courses and for appetisers we had the fellafel abd to top it off I had their Turkish coffee ☕️ 😋. The prices were so reasonable and loved the Authentic deco and atmosphere. Its owned by Turkish and therefore everything is excellent. They are very friendly and helpful. Worth the visit. Great for groups .
The decor & atmosphere is really nice. No issue with parking. However the food is not worth the price. Serving is really small for all the dishes compare to the food we had in Turkey and several times the price. The chicken kebab meat is dry, pretty much tasteless. The starter was not bad but really tiny portion. After spending $200+ for 4 pax, my kids still not full. Check the bill before you pay cos we were charge desserts which we did not order. Not recommended.
Hospitable hosts, beautiful presentation with delicious dishes. A hidden gem of Yishun and worth the travel. This cozy restaurant has left the best of impressions. Will definitely come back for more - a happy customer indeed 🥰
Food good, had mix grill, hummus, falafel, baba ghanoush and moussaka. Very well balanced flavour.
Gets warm during the day when seated outside. Need better utensils /serving spoons when sharing.
A rare gem in the heartlands serving authentic and delicious food! Ordered the lamb shank with mandy rice and the halloumi with pita. Pita was crisp and piping hot, and the halloumi cheese was seasoned and grilled to perfection. Really appreciate the attention to detail in the lamb shank dish, the carrots and potatoes were roasted but not overdone, while the eggplant was melt-in-your-mouth. Mandi rice was served separately in a cast iron dish that kept it warm till the last mouthful.
10/10! Can't wait for the full range of dishes to be available, as the restaurant is currently undergoing its soft opening this week.
PROS:
- Affordable Turkish food
- Boss was friendly
CONS:
- Roasted eggplant appetisers tasted burnt, not my first time having Turkish food and it usually doesn't taste that way
- Some dishes took 1HOUR AND 30MINS to arrive (and they insisted they didn't forget the order)
- Soups are very mediocre
- Kunafa wasn't crispy, instead the outside was soggy
Recommended: mixed grill meats
DO NOT ORDER: eggplant appetisers, tangini
if you're rly craving Turkish food it's a decent, affordable option but stick to the grilled meats and if you think the food is taking too long don't ps just remind them
A real hidden gem in Yishun. Pleasantly surprised by the amazing authentic Turkish cuisine with huge portions!
They should update their menu pictures because it does not do their actual food justice!
Nice ambience and great food. We had Tagine Kabsa Lamb and Shawrma Lamb Platter. Glad we do not need to travel far to Arab Street to have our Turkish cravings satisfied. Affordable price and nice tasty food here.
Great service! Enthusiastic & friendly staff, and food was served fast. We ordered the hummus, maqluba with chicken and pide with beef. Really delicious and huge portions. Would definitely recommend to anyone seeking to try out Mediterranean cuisine with a homely feel. 👍
Very good service. Food is affordable and very tasty. The pizza is very delicious and looks much better than the picture in the menu! The tomato salsa sauce was really good too.
Nice cozy location below a unassuming HDB. taste was good and portion was generous
Really good food. Very friendly staff and they take care of you very well! My partner and I really loved the food. Very surprised we found this hidden gem here in yishun! Support support. (P.s. very good serving size)
Our 2nd time here and we noticed they changed their seating & chairs to a brighter and more inviting design. Quality of their food is still really good, not overly salty or sweet and very savoury selection of meat cuts. Very cosy and nice place in the north :)
Really great food, just absolutely delicious! This is my second time here and I loved it even more than the first. The service is very personable and kind, it reminds me of the warmth I’ve encountered in many other delightful Arab-ran restaurants around the world. The menu has mostly Egyptian and Levantine dishes, I enjoyed a Moussaka. There’s also some Turkish options, ranging from Pide to the classic Apple Tea or Ayran. Also very very affordable for the quality of dishes and authenticity of cooking. Spent just $50 for two people to have two mains, an appetiser and two drinks. Be sure to visit. Shukran!
Authentic experience. The food is great and the staff are friendly!
Amazing and authentic Turkish food! Big portions and very kind owners, the price point very worth for the food quality and portion too. Hidden gem in the neighbourhood.
Third time to have dinner here! The staff is VERY friendly and would always recommend good food. I love the tagine chicken mandi! :)
Dip platter with pita bread 2/5
Tagine Kofte 5/5
Service 5/5
Value for money 4/5
Their dips are on the sour side, I can't taste any spices. V under whelming. Pita bread also dont taste fresh.
The tagine Kofte is great. I'm not sure what's the original taste of this dish as it's the first time we are having, but it's flavourful and the lamb was tender.
Prices are v affordable.
Food very yummy and sevice very good and passion.
Food was AMAZING. It's worth every penny. Come with your family and big eaters to be able to finish the food
Awesome service.
Tasty dish and servings
Definitely will comeback
A hidden gem in Yishun! Delicious food, good value and will definitely come again. Was served by Elham and she was very proactive to recommend dishes, made my family happy and comfortable.
This is 1 of my favourite spot nearby my neighbourhood. I love their turkish foods so much. Been there too many times. The service is always fantastic.
Quaint little spot in the middle of Yishun. Wouldn't have discovered it if not for Google maps. The baba ganoush (the turkish version without tahini) was lovely - citrusy and saucy - a perfect companion to the bread. We also ordered a grilled half chicken and the shish tawook. Both were charred beautifully, smokishly flavourful. Arab Street is worth a repeated visit to try out other items in the menu. Affordable price point too.
Went to Arab Street Turkish Restaurant @ yishun with my mum and sisters after mums surgery. Large range of Authentic Turkish food. Generous portion. Excellent service, cozy ambience and lovely food!!! Highly recommended!!! So all you Yishun ppl - please check it out the place. You do not need to go to arab street for Authentic Turkish food - it is within your vicinity.
Incredible rice. The lamb shank was not gamey. For 15.90 the half chicken was mind-blowing
solid food and solid accommodation
Super aromatic flavours!
Friendly staff that recommends food.
Recommended Hummus, Tagine Kofte, Kebab
Hidden paradise in Yishun. Food was awesome and full of flavours.

We love the fish and chip set! It was so delicious especially the fries😋. The fish was nice and the fish batter tasted good (not hating). So as the hot chocolate and It tastes better with the fries😄( i dipped) - by 9 yo girl
The mandi rice tasted flavourful. We loved the texture of the rice. Lamb shank was beautifully cooked. Was so tender yet juicy inside!
Pide was great! Hummus set is light and and savoury… Kunafa original not overly sweet and generous amount of cheese!
Highly recommend to bring family here as me and my family felt welcoming in this restaurant! 😆
Perfect vibes for self date or date nights in the neighbourhood!
A little Turkish restaurant in a little corner in Yishun. Worth a visit for the Tagine Kabsa Rice. Love the sauce that comes with it. Service could be better.
my family had lunch there without me and they seem to love the food and ambience! i will come soon to try it out!!!
Rrally good food really good staff! Would come again!
This is first time I visiting your restaurant. Very good food , service and ambience

One of the best Turkish food here in Singapore, serving delicious Turkish and middle eastern cuisine. Will definitely return again
Was here with family and friends. First thing that attracts me the most is the decor. Makes u feel like you’re in Arab Street, but you’re in Yishun 😅.
The food was delicious especially the Mixed Grilled Kebab (for 2 pax). I also tried the Dulang Family Set (for 4 pax). All very delicious and freshly prepared by the chef! Managed to meet the owners/chef. Very friendly people! Service was great too!
