Reviews of Baba Nyonya - Modern Peranakan Cuisine | Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 | Halal Certified
Good food. flavours were great and I loved that they gave me extra sambal (with lime!) and cincalok. Petai sambal prawns and chap chye met my expectations, but I was truly surprised by the otah. It was so fragrant with the layers of spice and coconut and it turned out to be our fav dish.
The best part is the service. The staff were really warm and genuine.
1) We over ordered and the staff who served us, Alafiq, kindly advised us that it might be a bit too much food for 2. (Not all restaurants are this honest)
2) Grace came to inform us that the food might take longer than usual because of the large no. of reservations, and she apologised for it. We didn’t feel the wait at all, so we were quite surprised that they took the initiative to approach us and apologize.
3) Grace saw we ran out of rice v quickly and nicely asked if we needed to order another. This is such a gentle & conscientious gesture. We said no but when the next dish came, we caved and ordered another plate of rice, haha.
It was the first day of CNY so I’m pretty sure they were understaffed but the mood and attitude of the wait staff were all so professional and pleasant. Wishing the team a happy CNY! Thank you for your hard work on a holiday.
Amazing food! Highly recommend to go with families. Try the crab pie tee, Otah, Nyonya Assam Fish, Chili Hijau Fish, Ayam Panggang, Sotong Buah Kluak. Everything we ordered tastes so good! Will come back here again 😍
Sam (one of staff members, or maybe the manager?) was super friendly & attentive. We were not really sure if it was halal, but he convinced us that it was. Nasi Ulam & Nyonya Chilli Garam Fried Rice were the best.
I'm very sad to write this review because I really love this restaurant. The standards have dropped. I ordered the bakwan kepitang but now they only serve per portion, its 6.90. Last time I remember it wasn't like that. The pumpkin tofu sauce is oily and diluted now😭. And the portions of the satay and chicken pongteh have shrunken . Taste wise, wasn't as nice as the previous times I visited. I have patronised this place since they opened during covid. Please do better and I will support again☺️ you can do it!
Great service and good food. Fresh ingredients and attentive staff.
Especially service staff, Awang :)
Ordered the barramundi fish but the sauce is too little. Pretty average. Looks great but taste average.
food was ok but the waiting time?? almost one hour despite not many diners.
i wud not patronized it again unless i have all the time in the world to wait.
Lots of variety of food. Mr Sam really taking good care of us with great hospitality. Highly recommended, suitable for big groups as well.
Amazing service with quality and tasty food. Special mention to Grace who accommodated and took our orders. Very fast service as well. Highly recommended.
They serve authentic nyonya food which taste very nice. I am very sensitive with msg and I don't feel thirsty after meal. Was looking around what to eat before flight and happen to see this new restaurant. Worth giving it a try.
The Buah Keluak Chicken Biryani was delicate, with a portion that is just right for a brief lunch. The flavours were not intense and I think anyone having a conversation over lunch is simply going to miss out on this fine evolution of the old classics. The sultanas and cashews dropped on the dish as toppings used to be part of the condiments in my mother's cooking. The achar (picked vegetables) was actually superb, made with the gusto you might expect from someone who's learnt from a Bibik. I am sure future visits will allow me to navigate through more flavours from the menu... but this left me satisfied and pleased with my Peranakan food fix of the week. Makan lah.
Great place to dine. A hidden gem in T3.
Highly recommend 😋
