Reviews of Bar Cicheti
Hands down one of the best Cacio e Pepe I’ve had in Singapore. The squid ink spaghetti was decent too.
Don’t skip on their warm bread with olive oil dip! We asked for a 2nd serving because it was just too good!
3-course set lunch menu ($38)
Insalata di calamari (grilled baby squid, garlic, lemon, fennel, parsley, evoo) - Good.
Spaghettini (Argentinean red prawns, bisque, butter, pomodoro, basil) - Good.
Panna Cotta (citrus panna cotta, medjool date syrup, coffee tuile) - Fine.
Good service.
Came here in. Sunday afternoon. Easily found parking at the roadside.
Was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. They took time to explain the menu with in plain English.
We liked the Cacio e Pepe. Comes al dente with a nice peppery flavor.
I like the free flow of sparkling water @$3.
We finished the meal with tiramisu and very well liked pistachio tart.
Will be back for their newly launch set lunch soon.
Really delicious if pricey. Lovely ambiance, good service. Portions on the small side but sufficient. Cocktails average but tasty. Will be back!
Pricing is aggressive. And, free flow filter water is $3 / head. Portions are small. But, at least the food is great.
Burratina is served with a marinated cherry, and the combination just works - it’s almost like ice cream with a cherry on top. And it comes with an okay sourdough.
I really liked the Cacio e Pepe - one of the best I’ve tasted. It’s got wonderful browning - and almost a “wok hei” taste in the best way.
The Bucatini con Gamberi had punchy flavor. It’s reminiscent of mee goreng - but again in a positive way.
The duck filled Agnolotti is good - and the brown butter sauce with sultanas is just wonderful.
Tagliatelle al Raju was good too - but I think the first 3 pastas were a touch more memorable.
Desserts are really expensive. The Crostata is $20 which is really high. It’s really good (but I am partial to pistachio creams in dessert), but still the price point feels just too much.
Cocktails were reasonable; presentation can be fancier but taste was ok. The “Pick me up” was a good dessert cocktail.
The space itself is nice. Cosy, but also pretty. Can be a good setting for a romantic outing, but also good for any other kind of outing - business, family.
Service is good - they will explain the specials (and their pricing) and dishes, and they’re generally attentive.
Overall, this is a recommend for the food - but just note that it is on the higher priced side.
Friendly staff. Ordered Cacio E Pepe and Mafaldine Gamberi. I must say the Cacio E Pepe was life changing. Slight charredness added the right balance of smokey meatiness to the dish.. simply divine.
The portion of the food indeed is quite small, and the appetiser even smaller. We enjoyed the pasta and they taste quite unique as well. Not the average type of pasta that you’d get from typical Italian restaurants. The only downside we felt is the service. We waited for more than 40 minutes for the food to be served and had to keep chasing the staff where our orders were. It was also confusing that our last order came first.. generally the place is quite noisy and busy. Great place to chill if you are not in a hurry
ambience is great, tucked away from the busy streets but might be a little bit difficult to find if you’re taking public transport!
usually packed but the service staff are friendly and great as well.
burratina was good, meat balls were awesome (big, flavourful and drenched in sauce). had the truffle beef carpaccio too!
pasta was average, good portion and tastes quite handmade! do note that they change their menu seasonally too~
Ordered the Fried sage leaves, Pork jowl, Ravioli, Agnolotti and Cheese platter. LOVE LOVE LOVED the Sage leaves and Ravioli, these 2 dishes were definitely the highlight of my dinner at Bar Cicheti. Agnolotti was pretty good too but fell a little short after having the Ravioli. Staff were very attentive too!
5/5
My first time visiting this restaurant. I went there with a group of 4 people. Everything was so authentically delicious. Especially the handmade pasta! There are many good bottles of wine. They have devoted themselves to WINE.
My favorite dish was the pesto pasta and tiramisu.
I’d love to visit again. I'd recommend it as a nice place with friends, or a partner. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is brilliant.
Amazing lunch. The homemade pasta was delish! We opted for pasta tasting so the portion for each dish was perfect for 2 pax sharing. Try the zucchini flower too - stuffed with horseshoe crab paste. Server was very friendly too!
Visited this place on a Monday.
Had the Mussels, carpaccio, Tagliatelle, Bucatini, Agnolotti, and Spaghettini pastas. Mussels, carpaccio and bucatini dishes were good. Pasta was al dente. Requested for a classic carbonara, but they couldn’t do it. The Agnolotti, spaghettini and tagliatelle pastas were nice, but I just felt like something was lacking, probably flavour/texture. Overall, the dishes were not mind blowing.
Service was good, waiters were friendly. They were quite busy, water was only refilled at the end of the dinner.
Definitely order the Pappardelle and the stuffed zucchini flower (stuffed full with crab)!
For a group of 4, we ordered 4 different pastas to share but we could have honestly gone for 5, portions were on the smaller side. Perfectly al dente & flavor packed sauce!
Sadly the desserts could not compare with the food. Would definitely go back just for the food and atmosphere!
Highly recommend!!! Had a fantastic experience celebrating my wife's birrthday at Bar Cicheti! The food's was really the highlight. Though a little on the pricey side, the quality does make up for it. We loved everything we ordered from antipasti (burrata, vongole, cured iberico jowl) to pastas (tagliolini nero, pici cacio e pepe, rigatoni alla norma) to dessert (tiramisu) to mocktails. Definitely authentic and in my memory better than many restaurants i had in italy. Literally nothing missed the mark and the food's simply fabulous. The menu was a little limited though, especially if you have diet restrictions. Do make reservations as the restaurant was full even on a monday evening, which shows the quality of the restaurant. Service was a little rushed but understandable given the crowd! Will try the sister restaurant, cicheti which has a wider menu next time!
Anytime is a good time for Bar Cicheti. Amazing small plates, awesome wine and sake selection, truly all heart and soul made by the people who know how and why. You guys just gotta to experience it !
Loved this place … the best thing is that they let you order small portions or big portions, so if you want to try a bunch of different items, you can go small. Loved it all. Zucchini salad was great, the pesto pistachio pasta was lovely … great olive oil. Nothing I didn’t like.
We have a table right in front of the kitchen. We can see whenever the food is ready to be served so is interesting to guess which dish is which on the menu. The whole place was packed by 1pm.
I have certain expectation as I have heard so much of Cicheti. I can’t figure what is missing to make this a better dining experience. Perhaps is the table seating, the bright light, the portion of the food, or my high expectation on the pasta.
We ordered 2 large pasta and a dessert to share.
The Pici Cacio looks so plain and simple when it arrives. Then it burst, the pasta, the black pepper, the cheese, the butter do make this dish flavourful.
The Gnocchetti shape looks like tiny potato gnocchi but is actually made of durum wheat semolina flour, water and salt. The fennel pork sausage gives you the oomph but it can be more, I have to dig and search.
We do enjoyed the pasta. Is nice but I don’t have the feeling that I would crave for it and want to visit again very soon.
The tiramisu is nice but not the best I have tried. In fact, the finger was a little too soaked wet for my liking.
As for the service, the chef, the guy manager and waitress are all attentive and friendly. With an exception of this tall girl with long hair (probably another manager or owner) who is a little aloof. Thankfully, the young waitress was friendly and patient with our query.
I would like to visit the other Cicheti though.
Lunched at Bar Cicheti - and would really recommend it. The pastas and mussels were really tasty, well made and pretty to look at too. I really liked the pistachio pesto pasta. So delicious. We were seated outside, I was impressed by the service. We were well attended to. Will definitely be back!
Went to Bar Cicheti last week and confirmed that sister restaurant Cicheti is far superior.
Tried the Cappelletti, Pappardelle and Tagliolini and while they were alright, they weren't the perfect al dente that I'd learnt to expect from Cicheti. Flavours were somewhat monotonous and unsatisfying as well. The food wasn't necessarily bad but not great either and pales so much in comparison to the outlet at Kandahar Street.
The food is pretty good here. Service is attentive & on point. Dishes come out one after another right on time. The cacio e pepe (so good we ordered it twice but forgot to get a pic both times 😂) & the rigatoni with pesto were our faves.
Try the cannoli for dessert as the citrusy cream is a nice contrast to the rich pasta dishes. Prices are a lil on the steeper side considering the tiny portions though.
Great pasta especially that Tagliatelle with Prawn - the sauce was a bisque and an umami bomb of flavours; great and warm ambiance too.
Staff were also attentive and hospitable, even going out of their way to take a nice photo from a picturesque area of the restaurant.
Food was wonderful.
The gentleman that served our table gave recommendations and kept in mind our dietary restrictions
The big disappointment was they charged me for the birthday cake that they served.
You give someone a surprise but you charge for it. Strange!
Underwhelming. The texture of the pasta was nice but the flavours were so-so. We were excited to try the daily special which was a grilled octopus. However it was a bit of a let down, not to mention, an incredible $37. Will skip this place.
The pasta was fresh and really good. We ordered the pasta and beef (400g) twice! Great for sharing and would make a good date spot too! Definitely coming back again.
Food is always incredible here, and they are constantly updating the menu. Love the uni pasta, tho a little disappointed with the clams. And the waiter mixed up our orders. ORECCHIETTE WITH PORK SUGO pasta was great too. TAGLIOLINI was a little disappointing. But overall e wine and atmosphere was 💯
The burratina with onion jam here is amazing. The pappardelle with braised beef ragu was my favourite pasta of the evening, but the tagliolini nero with scallop, Japanese uni and Indonesian squid was excellent as well. Unfortunately the pici cacio e pepe was a miss to me (pasta seemed a bit too hard and the dish didn’t seem to have much flavour except for the Sarawak black pepper). Service is friendly and very efficient.
Food and service were both great!! Stands out from other Italian/pasta restaurants. Really enjoyed the cozy ambience too. One of the few that I would revisit :)
Possibly the best tiramisu I've ever had. Beef agnolotti was delightfully well done! Never felt too heavy and you finish wanting more. The gnocchetti pasta was a bit too thick for my personal preference but you might like the chewy texture
Good variety of home made pasta done al dente Italian style which I enjoyed. Portions were quite small for what was priced but it meant we could try more dishes..
Great food and amazing service from Dominic!
Thank you for the wonderful dinner ☺️
Yummy!! Staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was really chill. Food is reasonably priced ! The tasting portion size was enough for me if you get an appetizer !
The food here is OK. The pasta was very dry, the burrata was nice, although I've had better and fresher ones at other restaurants. The wagyu beef carpaccio was too cold, like it came straight from the fridge. I don't feel inclined to go back.
Cicheti is my favorite Italian restaurant in Singapore so we were very excited to finally get to try Bar Cicheti. My fave dish of the day was the Cacio de Pepe which I felt was cooked to ‘Singapore’ liking where the sauce wasn’t too clawing.
2 of us had the meatballs, beef tongue, and 3 half sized pastas 😱😂 they were all cooked very well.
However, If there was 4,5 stars I would have given them that instead. Staff are very professional and nice. Unfortunately we had to wait really really long for our mains, which the friendly staff was very apologetic for and even offered us free dessert. Thank you for the great service recovery!
Very pleasant dinner and food. Service staff was on point. In my own opinion, I would give the cannoli a miss. Will try the other desserts.
Excellent pasta quality, the handmade pasta and sauces were served to our liking with generous portions. However atmosphere not great for a date, rather crowded and somewhat noisy for a restaurant.
Music is retro with quite a few oldies from 1970s and 1980s. I have squid ink iglio olio spaghettini which was great & fulfilling. Service is great and Winnie is very friendly.
The pasta here is one of the best I've eaten. Very impressed with the food here. Every dish we ordered was good! Tagliatelle, Pici Cacio, Paccheri including 2 Anti Pasti which I don't recall the name. Overall, this place serves very good food and pasta. Will definitely visit again!
Excellent pasta
Excellent wine selections as expected of cicheti group
Alla gricia (basically porky cacio e Pepe)
- pasta not al dente, a minute too soft
- guanciale taste was not as strong
- mild pepper taste, more pecorino taste
Overall, below expectations for bar cicheti level but still better than industry standards
Personally, I enjoyed the pecorino taste but really felt like the main ingredients were left out and am a cheese lover so I was OK
Mafalde verde
- not a common pasta in Singapore but best mafalde ive had in Singapore
- the whole “handmade pasta” fiasco has finally proved worthy. It was so chewy that it took me awhile to scoop the right amount on my fork and not get tired of chewing in one mouthful. Best. Pasta. Ever.
- the braised beef cheeks disintegrated in my mouth like cotton candy. i propose for cicheti to make their own beef marmalade jam that could rival burnt ends’ Jam.
- I didn’t want this to end.
Chocolate tart
- ordered this blindly by recommendation of staff
- could IMMEDIATELY Tell the whisky ice cream. So amazing. Goes so freaking well with the dense chocolate tart
- there were crumbs/crust below the ice cream n tart that just texturised the entire thing
- dark chocolate tart with a thin glass slice of caramel - u can feel the flat piece of caramel break in your mouth
Satisfying end to a Friday date night experience
Delicious food, excellent prompt service, lovely location. Sitting outside on a nice day provides a wonderful lazy lunch opportunity with friends.
Not bad, the prawn pasta was quite nice, the ambience was quite comfortable. Food is of similar quality of those 25-30$ pasta place (ones that i taste thats good, not those random pasta restaurants, so be assure the quality is actually very good). But with the ambience and food quality, ok ah notbad. Could consider come back again. I think this is more of 4.5 star. But no have half star leh so i leave it at 4 for now
One of the best pasta places in town by far!! I've never been a fan of pasta but the one here really changed my mind! had the special which was so unique and did not become sickening for the buds like other raviolis do. the wines are so great too, had the sommelier selection Merlot, and again, as a Merlot hater, I really loved this heavy bodied wine so much!
Very happy with my experience ❤️ thank you Danny and the team!
Been here a couple of times and I must say the pastas are great. Good vibes and service as well! One of my fave places for dinner in Sg 👌
Average Italian food
Meatballs were delicious
Red prawn and seafood pasta was average flavor, pasta was Al dente
Tried the zucchini fries, rigatoni arrabiata and saccheti beetroot pasta. Loved the beetroot pasta. Zucchini fries were basically deep fried zoodles ! Would definitely recommend the saccheti. (all three dishes are vegetarian)
Amazing food. Enjoyed every dishes we ordered and service was awesome.
Nice Italian food. Freshly handmade. Serving is small although choose normal serving.
Nice ambience, cosy and comfortable.
Service was good.
The pasta I had was ok.
Desserts are nice!
Amazing ambience. Loved the Cacio e pepe!
Brilliant food. The starters and pastas were delicious, and great service to match.
Pasta was 👍🏻👍🏻
Wine could have been better
The restaurant is nested in a lovely shop House and the interior was greatly decorated. Although the menu was tight, I feel that the dishes were well thought out. For two pax we had one glasses of wine each one antipasti, and two plates of pasta. It was good to fill our tummy with joy. I especially like the selection of their wine, due to its wide range.
While we were celebrating our first anniversary, we were given a complimentary dessert as well.
Since the demise of the great Mozza at MBS - I've been trying to find a restaurant that does up good pastas. Bar Cicheti does live up to that deal, doing up superbly executed pastas that will make even an tricolor wearing Italian clap in praise.
Favorite Italian place - great quality for decent price
Beautiful handmade pasta with chewy texture, very cosy space, lovely service.
The first time of me with Italian food in Singapore, the menu only some choices but delicious food with nice decor though ☺️
Have not had such nice pasta since we are back from Italy.
They offered the tasting potion pasta which is a good choice for us as we wanted to try more varieties.
Everything we ordered was fantastic.
We will definitely go back, and recommend to book in advance as the restaurant gets very busy after 7pm.
Decent pasta. Prices are steep for the small portions though.
Perfect for when you can’t get a reservation at Pasta Bar. The pasta dishes range from good to quite good, but are extraordinarily small for the price. (Staff told us the small size is about the size of a fist.)
Maybe we’re just unlucky, but we’ve been twice, and both times the food has been really slow to come out. The staff is attentive and helpful. I just don’t want to wait for 10 minutes between pasta dishes, when each dish takes me 2.5 minutes to eat.
Food was okay. Could never go wrong with pasta. Portion wise, it was very small for the half size for a steep price. One of the three pastas I had was undercooked, thankfully they replaced that for me. The chef was courteous enough to give extra sour dough. Overall an average experience with a steep price.
Pretty standard place.
I think my expectations were a bit too high as I would rank bar cicheti below some other pasta bars I've been to.
It's also a bit pricier. The decor is really nice and staff are super friendly!
For the ambience, it's definitely a good spot to bring a date.
Lighting was too dark in my table so I can't post any good pictures.
We ordered 4 different pasta (entrees) for sharing between 2 people and we really enjoyed the variety! The endive salad was delicious and the bread was to die for. Will definitely go back.
Great flavours and excellent wine/sake pairings.
Lovely burratina with burnt onion jam. Tried 3 of their pastas and they were to my liking. Flavours were just nice for me.
However, I did not give a higher rating as I feel that their service can be improved. The service staff did not seem to be familiar with the menu and we were randomly being informed that we had to leave as the next booking is here. We understand that restaurants have 2 seatings these days but we would appreciate if they could give us a heads up. Nobody had informed us of the next seating prior and it's like they expected us to leave the moment they told us to. Lucky for us, we were finishing our dessert. Yummy tiramisu btw.
Was disappointed with our lunch here.
Server forgot one of our orders, and had poor product knowledge. Wr were trying to order a bottle of wine, he actually asked us do we want our wine medium or heavy! 😱
Was charged $5 for tap water which is was not told to us.
However to be fair, the food was tasty and good.
Let down by the frills 😢
Excellent pasta place. Came here for Christmas so we didn’t get to try some of the regular pastas. We had the lemon black pepper pasta, mafalde and this chilli oil pasta. The chilli oil pasta was heavenly.
Everything else was super well done as well. Definitely one of the best pasta in sg. I feel like bar cicheti’s pasta is better than pasta b**’s and at a slightly lower price point. Definitely worth a shot.
Book in advance to get a seating, was allocated the bar seat and the overall experience was good. The pasta was nice and the recommended red wine went really well with the food. A bit pricey but overall good experience.
Loved the place, wine selection is edgy and funky. Home made pasta are seasoned with a Singapore twist: my favorite beong the spags with Sarawak Pepper Sauce.
Staff not friendly and not attentive to the guests. Portions are very small for the price.
Very good fresh handmade pasta with good vegetarian options and interesting gelato flavours for desserts.
One of the best pasta I had in my life. Immediately booked again!
One of the best pasta bars out there
