Reviews of Bebek Goreng Pak Ndut @Westgate
An Indonesian Restaurant which we have put off for quite a while now, but have decided to give it a try since we are in the area.
⏰ the queue was relatively long when we reached, at least 6-8 groups ahead of us - but we were shown a seat within 15 minutes of the queue (7.30pm-7.45pm). The food was also served within 5-10 minutes of ordering, so all in all it was pretty efficient. The only complain I have is that they serve the sides (kangkong) before the main dishes so it’s left there to cool before we had the mains to eat it with.
🍗 food was decent, I personally prefer to eat it on its own without the chilli so as to get the full flavour from the protein, no complains across both the crispy duck and grilled chicken (all the crispy/grilled chicken/duck were good)
🌶 the chilli deserves its own rating since they have 4 different kinds, though we tried the 4 spice level variant (unknowingly) and it didn’t turn out to be spicy
💰 price was affordable, at an estimated damage of $10-15 per pax if you add a side.
Would definitely return to try the fried egg and tofu someday, alongside the ayam penyet!
Update: fried egg and tofu can be quite surfeiting, and definitely very filling too
Always wanted to try this as my last crispy duck was back in Bali some donkey years ago. Duck was meat and cripsy, Chili’s is superb and spicy. The vege side is a bit dry but I suppose that’s how it is. The “Tauhu goreng” is a bit spicy but nice with lotsa crackers. The soup is nice with potato and carrot soft (means boiled well) and lotsa collagen on the oxtail! Recommended if u wanna eat crispy duck.
Love the duck skin and feet!~ The sambal also good! The soup is just right with tender meat. Favorite place to eat bebek!
Amazing food. The duck skin was so crunchy and delicious too. I am in love. I think what they can improve on was their drinks. The ice coffee tasted diluted and the avocado juice wasn’t that cold.
Non oily Crispy duck at Bebek Goreng ! Ordered the tofu and tempeh as well and it was delicious ! The Oxtail was soft and tender !
The best fried duck I’ve ever tried in Singapore to date - the $9.90 fried duck was super tender and well seasoned (it is much better than their fried chicken). Also got the $6.90 chicken soto which was a warm bowl of savoury comfort ❤️ Service was fast and good. Highly recommend this place!
First time trying their fried duck. Taste is nice but can totally feel the oil when you chew.
Tried gado-gado too, it's just okay.
Their chili is so spicy!
Bebek Goreng served with speed, taste hitting all the right spots - crispy, savoury, salty and spicy. Tahu telor can be a bit too flavourful (sweet/salty) but enjoyable, and I like their avocado juice. Service can be improved and not consistent, but otherwise ok!
Was recommended this by a friend! Enjoyed the crispy fried duck in green chili (can’t really take spice) and it was very yum! Would come back again. Affordable too!
Had my dinner the other time and was serve by a server.
She show me an disgusting attitude. While me trying to order my food.
I said what’s the difference between original and sangan DUCK . Her reply was. Aiyo. Original is original lah. Sangan is burn2 kind. With her face showing like lazy to serve.
If this is what I came for. I rather go to Lucky plaza outlet. Is wayyyy much better then JURONG EAST outlet ? Must I said this ?? Atleast lucky plaza serve me great and feel welcome. While the Jurong East I felt like not welcome and serve rudely. What kind of service is this ? . I hope the manager or supervisor look into this. Don’t feel like working. Don’t work. Stay home. 🙂 or park your damn business else where. 🙂.
Love their duck. Also the different chilli tat is self service.
i ate here thrice because i love the food here ! their original fried duck ( bebek goreng ) is yummy , tastes just like chicken but in fact more flavourful . the chilli is delicious & i couldn't resist it hence i had to top up from the chilli station 🫣
the oxtail soup is flavourful as well and the fats are well trimmed . i tried their bebek bakar as well & it's delicious . suitable for those who wants a less spicy option + grilled duck ( instead of fried )
price wise is also not bad . $11.90 ( inc. gst ) for a plate . will i come here again ? yes 💯
I order the green chilli crispy fried duck with rice for 10.90. The green chilli is not spicy, so for beginners you can try this one. The duck i got wing parts, usually i hate wing part but this time i can eat it all & the taste well marinated. The vegetables is just ok, with some cucumber, cherry tomato & kangkung i guess. Got a portion of tauhu & tempe goreng. Overall it’s a nice time dine in here.
Best fried duck.. Follow from lucky plaza branch to here..
The sandang duck was so yummy!! Had the avocado juice to go along. Its a little tad too sweet for me and the portion was also very small for the price!
Otherwise a superb experience. Will be back!
Scouted almost the whole mall last night to find something new to try and this was a good find for me. Ordered and paid at once at store front which I’m not fond of that idea. I prefer to go thru the whole menu seated before I order and would usually order additional items halfway which I did so I had to go to front to order and pay again 😒. Anyway, that's how they do their business, so be it.
I ordered the Original Crispy Fried Duck as it was new to me. Taste was good, only the portion size was a bit disappointing especially I was given the wing part. Finished everything on the plate except for the tempeh, it tasted way different from the usual ayam penyet sets I have tasted before. The signature original chilli was nice but too spicy for me but I would have loved to take home some especially the green chilli. They should sell these in bottles at the store.
I got curious with the ice cream-looking dessert on a table across the room, it happened to be Ice Teler according to the crew. I just ordered it without knowing what it is. Too late to realized it has jackfruit bits which I don't usually eat. But I managed to finish it since the jackfruit was cut to small squares which didn't overpower the whole dessert. Only got disappointed now that the portion of the fruits in it is not the same way as before as shown in the other reviews here. Ate this together with the $2 crackers which I dipped on their green chill....yes, I recommend doing this. 😉
I would definitely go back to try the other dishes and maybe even try it in their Lucky Plaza branch.
$34 for 2. The food is good, came in hot and the chili is great.
Good food and services. Choice of fried, mashed or grilled duck/chicken. Free serving of chilies with different levels of spiciness.
Been a fan of this shop for awhile. However recently I ordered ayam penyet through takeaway, and the drumstick part tasted and smelled weird ,and had dark spots on the meat. My appetite was gone as I felt like vomiting. Really hope the food quality will get better again.
I would really recommend their oxtail soup if you happen to visit them. Everything is delicious there but that soup is just something else. If you want rice with the soup you need to order it separately as the soup comes on its own. Take the order slip to the counter to pay for your food.
Our fav.. indo food to go eat!
We love spicy foods...the duck so crispy...😋😋😍😍
My first experience at the Westgate store was met with disappointment. It was hard to get any kind of assistance. Servers were much too preoccupied in expediting online orders. Food was good though.
Enjoyed rice with shredded fried duck and skin. Portion size is relatively small, but food is tasty and halal.
The lady taking order can smile and laugh with colleagues, but wasn't pleasant when taking order and had some questions to asked.
Food was still ok.
The food is pretty good, ordered the ayam penyet, fried tofu with egg and sour & spicy vegetable soup.
You can taste the freshness of the chicken and duck here. I I usually alternate between the fried duck and grill chicken.
My friend wants me to try this, one of her favorite. Even is late lunch we find the dish still delicious and quite flavorful.
Tasty foods spread.
Loved the ox tail soup.
The Gado Gado superb.
Fast service and I like the meat of the duck very tender and crispy, just that the bebek goreng tasted salty.
Taste the same as the one in lucky plaza! I love bebek! Best one in Singapore
The bebek is tender and succulent. The best halal bebek in town.
Some of the cracker are not fully fried. But the food is nice
My fav is shredded crispy chicken!
One of the Best Ayam peyet in the west!
