Reviews of Chiang Mai Thai Kitchen
Hands down best Thai food in a coffee shop in Singapore!! From basil chicken with rice to tomyum soup, everything was so delicious and authentic 💯💯
I think the standard drop a bit... was here a few weeks back on Sunday for lunch. The glass noodle was nice... but a bit oily. The green curry was so so taste wise but the 'chicken' was more skin then meat.... bit disappointed.
Overall,... still OK for the basil rice and tom yum soup, but won't be back anytime soon.
Authentic Thai food located in Toh Guan. Ordered Thai Beef Noodles, Crab meat Omelette Rice and Moo Ping. All items were on par and far exceeded my expectations.
Thai noodles came with the usual thin noodles of Thailand, the one that resemble Kway Teow except theirs was even thinner. Soup was legit beef broth, a little bit sweet, very Thai. Do remember to add chilli powder for extra kick.
The MVP must be their $9.90 crab omelette rice. Chucks of crab meat embedded in runny egg smothering a plate of fried rice. Some may feel it’s a bit bland but for me it’s just right.
Moo Ping order takes more than 15 minutes. The pork skewers were larger than most in Singapore and the pork was well marinated, a little sweet from the basking sauce but very tender. The patty consists of lean and fatty pork in a ratio that allows the pork to be juicy and yet chewy.
Finally, in terms of price, it was not too prohibitive too, all things considered. We paid $27.90 for three dishes.
Great place for a Thai meal if you can’t go to Thailand.
Came here during lunch hours, many people were ordering from this stall. However, food were served fast.
Basil Minced Pork Rice With Egg was flavorsome and a bit spicy. And I preferred runny egg. Other than that, the rice was a bit dried and hard.
Tom Yum Seafood was really appetizing, the balance of sourness, sweetness & spiciness of the soup made you wanna keep drinking it. While lots of ingredients (sotong, mushrooms, fish) were given generously.
Moo Ping was a bit sweet & tasty too though it was a bit hard for my liking.
To summarize, food were authentic & not bad and prices are affordable.
Hidden gem. Chanced upon this stall and gave it a try. Was not disappointed.
Crab omelette fried rice (added mince meat) priced at 12.50 was big. Just nice for 1 male adult size (i think ladies would find it excessive). Omelette slightly runny, crab meat are ball sized (not those torn into strips) and the rice beneath is flavourful. Pad Thai noodles and green curry is also very good.
Will definitely come back again. Only issue is I cannot decide what I would want to order for next round!
Been here twice and the food is pretty good!
Had their Thai Basil Pork rice which comes w an egg by default on my first time here
Spicy but so good. Look at the runny egg yolk peeking out in the photo! If there’s anything to complain, I would say the rice is a little too clumpy lol.
Thai Omelette was nice too! The staff thought I was getting the rice set so this was a smaller portion than the ala-carte version. She removed the rice and returned me SGD0.70. Wah really nice.
I tried their Crispy Garlic Pork Rice the second time. 2 eggs because one of my friends is allergic to eggs. Anyway I didn't expect the pork to be so wet and stir-fried? I thought it would be crispy hahaha. Guess only the garlic was crispy LOL.
The staff was quite friendly and I would definitely be back.
4 Feb 2024 - came here seeing >4.5 rating.
Ordered tom yum soup, prawn omelette rice and stirred fried chicken garlic rice. Paid approx 18.50
Tom yum soup was OK.
Stirred friend chicken was bland and had a very raw chicken taste. Not recommended.
Prawn omelette rice was edible... Was like normal omelette. Not very Thai like.
Was disappointed.
Hidden jem in jurong east. If you loved Thai food this is must visit! We had the Pineapple fried rice, pad thai, fried pork belly and the crab omelette. Everything is so so so good and they have different types of dipping chilli sauce which brings it to another level. Total damage was about $30ish. Absolutely delicious thai food with reasonable proxe tag. Multi storey HDB Parking readily available right beside the coffee shop. The lady taking the order is very friendly and she is a Thai i believed from her accent. Thai food lovers don't miss out this stall!
Superb authentic Thai food.. you will be amazed what they are offering..
The Thai Papaya salad is a MUST order. Sour and sweet and spicy.. omg.. heavenly
The Tom Yam soup is a MUSt order dish too... with sotong, prawn, mushroom and fish. All very fresh.
The curry pork rice is also very nice.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A must try if you are nearby.. always long Q but they serve fast and all very reasonable price
Thank you for the great food. Loving it
I will be back regularly!
Rather underwhelmed given the unanimously good reviews on Google map.
The omelette though was good but under fried as the inside were overly runny. The green curry gravy also tasted good & creamy but the chicken was so thinly sliced that most pieces the ratio between the meat and skin were 50/50, rather turn off for someone who doesn't enjoy chicken skin.
For food travelers seeking authentic Thai cuisine, this spot surpasses the overrated options elsewhere. The menu offers reasonably priced, genuine flavors, with moo ping and pork collar as standout dishes. A must-visit for an unparalleled Thai culinary experience.
Decent thai food in coffeeshop but nothing mind blowing. Food is cooked to local taste instead of original thai taste.
Tabao
Omelette crab meat fried rice-4/5
Will try more dish, if at this area again
I like this coffeeshop coz it's airy and seating is well spaced away from the stalls tht allows for order Q to form.
The stall holders are friendly too.
Had always wanted to try the fare at CMTK which always has super long Q. Got lucky with a 5mins wait and tried the Pineapple Fried Rice + Basil Pork with Egg rice. So yummy and not too oily.
Order is relayed to the kitchen in Thai. So charming.
Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Stall closes on Wednesday at point of writing.
Parking at MSCP is convenient.
Inside a coffee shop, so don’t expect any ambience. But the food is cheap and fairly tasty.
Pad Thai was great. Stall owners are extremely friendly as well. Will be back to try more!
Good thai food found at toh guan but abit more of MSG & at a reasonable price
Stall located within an eating house next to a HDB MSCP, recommended by a friend so came here to try their food.
Ordered a pineapple fried rice, which was just the right taste without being too sweet.
$7 for a plate of pineapple rice, portion generous enough for 2 people so price is reasonable. Would come here again to try their other dishes another time.
Surprised to find a fairly decent Thai food at this neighbourhood.
Really good Thai food at affordable price, we only tried their prawn fried rice, pad thai, mango salad, stir fried chicken & Tom yum goon, right amount of seasoning & spice.
minced pork with basil is a favourite. constantly bested many restaurants. Obvious from the crowd who often orders this dish. The other food are great too - Tom Yam soup, Tom yam fried rice, pad thai, deep fried pork belly ($10 but portion is huge). relatively cheap and tastes better than many popular thai food.
Good food especially the pork shoulder and basil chicken or pork. The tom yum is still okay. Overall it is very authentic and managed by Thai locals. Just tried today and it is nice. Can consider the garlic chicken or pork.
Basil Rice is a MUST TRY! Even moved away I still come for it once a while.
Verdict [Prawn Phad Thai]: Plate of Phad Thai that brings you back to Thailand. Ingredients used were original albeit the lack of the wok hei. Self service of condiments to plate as you wish. Overall 7/10, will try something else next time.
the basil chicken rice is very good.
Good food and reasonable price, nice service best thai food
Food was nice but a bit pricey compared to others with same business environment.
What's good : pad thai (must eat there), pork collar, basil minced pork rice, green curry.
Green chicken curry is so good. Must try.
Simple words should be given to this stall.
“Delicious”
Lovely attentive staffs , affordable prices.
Nice green curry and food
