Reviews of 厨皇香港贵妃鸡 Chu Huang Hong Kong Royal Chicken
The best part is the noodles and vegetables while the soya sauce chicken is average. The char siew is just average and does not have the char flavor.
Do not underestimate the colour of the dish. The noodles are extremely chewy and fresh. The concubine chicken breast is succulent and sweet. All it takes is the magical soya sauce. Awesome.
costly because 贵妃鸡 is not common.
酱油鸡can skip.
chicken innards: gizzard, heart and liver are done nicely. highly recommended but costly especially for the size of the portion.
chicken rice is not too oily.
noodle is actually good, is as close as what you get from HK.
soup is good
special mention for the 姜葱油, HK style though not good enough but acceptable. need more salt.
Managed to get a table during Friday lunch hour quickly. Food was served fast as well. Enjoyed the white and roast chicken. Will come back again
Pricey for what is worth. The sauce and the rice doesn’t have the “chicken rice” flavour, and I actually find the vegetable side to be tastier than the everything else. The noodle was also pretty plain. Have heard good reviews in the past but standard seems to have dropped today. There wasn’t any queue
Better than the soy chicken places down the road, with a nice hue to the chicken. Same goes for its Hainan Chicken. Kudos to its Ngo Hiang and Black Tofu, that comes with Malaysian Acar-looking pickle. Even the Fish Soup shares the subtlety like all the other dishes; doesn't overwhelm you, but wins you over.
Tender chicken paired with springy egg noodles. Tasty! I tabao back the char Siew (asked for leaner cuts as I’m not a fan of fatty cuts) also very yummy. Love the ginger spring onion condiments which I mixed into their plain porridge, delicious 👍
Ordered half a chicken & requested to split the upper and lower portion in 2 boxes to takeaway. Shared with my brother & realise that the breast meat is missing 😢 Half chicken don't comes with breast meat🤔?
Chicken is kampong alright but overly dressed in thick oil coating & lacks the wonderful taste & texture of Royal Hen kampong chicken... Has a distinct wine fragrance but don't really goes well with rice & the scallion ginger(maybe better with plain broiled chicken) nor chilli sauce(too sour, making the taste complicated). Chicken is not bad on its own but we still prefers the salted dried seafood chicken(海鲜咸鸡) in hawker centre not far away that taste extremely good, cooked to perfection with wonderful crunchy tasty skin and fresh, without the need of any chilli nor sauce.
Went with my neighbour for lunch at tis place. We order their chicken rice, prawn shrimp rolls, jellyfish appetizer and hor fun and herbal drinks. The food was yummy and the price reasonable.
Had chicken rice ($6.50) on 14/12/22, was good. They used kampung chicken. Will be back to try their soy sauce chicken.
Chicken was very tasty, and the service was impeccable. Our server very kindly gave us an extra bowl and sauce without us having to request for it. Highly recommend.
1. Tasty chicken and I like the freshness.
2. Char Siew - very fatty but tasty.
3. Vegetables- very fresh and topped up with garlic.
Affordable yet scrumptious chicken. Meat is tender and flavourful. Definitely worth ur penny! Will be back to try out their signature 玫瑰鼓油鸡 as it has been sold out. Waitress was attentive and friendly.
Order soy chic set meal cone with vege. Soy chicken not bad and is tender. I would say better than some of the chain hawker stall. Woman serving me is friendly and helpful.
Very good chicken rice and noodles. Fragrance all there. Even the side chicken soup was very good. Highly recommend !
Hong Kong style chicken and char siew.
Very yummy and traditional canton style chicken
Royal chicken meat is more tastier than rose chicken meat. The chicken rice taste is a little disappointed.
Amazing textures on both the chicken and wild boar char siew.
service is excellent n the meat served is fresh n tender...definitely worth going again
Very great taste chicken rice and other memu
Delicious chicken. Very Nice
The best chicken I have ever eaten in my life! This restaurant really makes the chicken skin melt in your mouth, the chicken is tender and smooth, amazing! And such a whole portion is only 4.5:) The boss’s attitude is also very good. After the meal, he very humbly asked for food reviews. I hope to recommend this treasure restaurant to everyone~
Note: During the recent trial opening period, payment can only be made by cash. On New Year’s Eve, takeaway is also available.
The price is on the high side and the portions are on the small side but definitely worth the money
Probably the best chicken I've ever eaten in Singapore
It’s just that the noodles are poorly cooked
