Really authentic Chinese mala, the mah and the spiciness is just nice for me. Our second time here and love it . Asked for more peanuts and he was more than generous. He can also do a suitable soup to go with the meal and that would be even better. Business was a bit slow as he has competition from the interim Bukit Timah market/ hawker Center just across the street.

You Mai cai $8, 7.5/10. Surface was super salty, but after stirring it, it wasn’t salty anymore. I think the cook did not stir sufficiently. Crunchy and sweet. V big portion. Shredded potatoe $8, 7.5/10 Crunchy, taste is gd, not overly salty. However wished that it is more spicy. Mala for 2 $11, 7.5/10 Well seasoning, ordered a med to big spicy but it’s not super spicy for me. Meat is ok, overall ok except maggie noodle is tiny under cook. But still okay. Very fast service time even with a number of customers. Will comeback again.

Found this mala place on Google Maps and it was highly rated (as of this post 4.9 stars). Some people said it’s the best in Bukit Timah area and I had to try it. The servings were huge and it was a challenge for the three of us to finish three dishes. However, we wanted to try the usual favourites and their popular cabbage. And I must say, I do agree with the reviews!

Top 3 places in my list - this ma la xiang guo was fragrant and tasty. This store charges by weight, prices were reasonable enough that I was not holding back at all.

Visited for the sichuan style ala carte dishes and they did not disappoint. (水煮鱼 and Fried Cabbage were the highlight dishes for me.) The food was flavorful, tasty, and served with good portions all at an extremely fair and affordable price. Highly recommended and will be back again!
