Reviews of Dempsey Hill
Great food, good service.
One of the upmarket social gathering spot of Singapore.
Nice tranquil envirnoment accompanied with quality food.
I like the surrounds that offers a sense of relaxation.🙏
lots of food options of various tastes and nationalities with various price ranges suitable for most. Enjoyed Chopsuey, Min Jiang best.
Good eatery place, bars, restaurants and desserts too. There is also art gallery to enjoy displays of beautiful art pieces.
Huber's steakhouse is the best. Go to dempsey hill and enjoy night walks. Accessible to bus. Super easy to get there.
Got the truffle mushroom pizza. Great for sharing! But to each 4 slices on your own would be difficult as the mushrooms are q overpowering. The aglio olio was DELICIOUS but q expensive for just aglio olio. The other seafood pasta wasn't as yummy but it's more value for money. Didn't like the BBQ pork ribs but maybe I'm just not a fan of BBQ sauce and pork ribs. My grandmother loved them tho. The squid ink risotto was not bad, nothing fantastic.
Drinks were really not value for money so we didn't get any 🙃 bill added up to $200+ for 5 people and also I got a free slice of bday cake (cuz my mom asked for some bday promo HAHA) which was really delicious btw. It was red velvet cake drizzled with some berry sauce. I'd pay for that.
Service was excellent.
Overall, beautiful place with nice ambience but not so affordable (I'd only go for special occasions).
Huge portions and great tasting food! And nice ambience too. Bone marrow beef burger is humongous.
The food and the place was very good, and had a super great waiter service. And the food was super expensive, too!
This is another part of Singapore and very different from usual places. Greenery and lots of famous F&B outlets as well as retails.
The food is good but the varieties are limited. As my wife cannot take onion and garlic, there is only 1 choice of food for her. Applaud for the waiter who patiently to goes in and out to check out the dishes.
Arranged a flower delivery to the restaurant and they presented the flower as per planned thru phone coordination. But nothing special that goes out even its for birthday dinner.
Nice place out side town, for food, drink a d relaxing
Nice place to hang out and dine in green ambience. Big portions though so dun order too much
Definitely is a place to visit. A former army HQ with building in colonial design spread across the place. Many foods, Mexico, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Indian, French etc. Parking and getting a seat might be difficult if go after 7pm to 8pm especially on Friday and Saturday night. Many popular restaurant would have been pre-booked. So if you are planning to go and not be disappointed, book in advance. There is also an ice cream museum 😋.
The place is lined up with well curated restaurants and galleries. I enjoyed the visit so much.
Always nice to visit the place and chilled out!
Margaritas is a fun place for a date night. Their pitcher of margaritas are awesome. Try the chiili beer for an unique experience
Great food and good staff name Judy
Nice place but food quite expensive. Also need a car to be there. Nevertheless, nice place for couples
Had Thai dinner at the lovely Jim Thomson Restaurant. Good service 😊
The only place I patronise here is Wine Co. They have a lunch menu at $7.20 that comes with a cup of free coffee between 12pm to 3pm. Members get 30% off some of mains during lunch. Members get 30% off cocktails and 10% of wines and food after the 3pm lunch time. Membership is cheap at $22 per year. Free parking and relatively good food. No change
Very nice place to visit in Singapore for food…Offers a broad variety of different restaurants, bars and cafes. Nicely decorated. Former military barracks transformed nicely.
Go to dempsey hill and enjoy night walks. Best place to chill. Many restaurants and bars around like Greek, Mexican, Thai, Mediterranean, Indian, Western, Korean, Japanese and many more. Try different food and drink here at many restaurants.
This less-Singapore like place gives a very European vibe. The location is on a short hill and is typically reached via cab. The majority of the buildings here are single-story colonial structures housing eateries.
Huber's steakhouse is the best. Go to dempsey hill and enjoy night walks. Accessible to bus. Super easy to get there.
Free parking
Nice place. Good food, casual but not so noisy atmosphere. The taste is not Korean's one but okay.
I don't know the price level of here, even I haven't seen the menu and the bill. So I cannot judge the value of this place.
Fantastic area for food choices and you will be flanked by supercars along the way since you are in upmarket Singapore. Be prepared though to spend more and leave the place a bit poorer in the wallet and rich in the belly. Amazing variety and the heart of great seafood and ambience. Service will be up a notch from other places and normal service charge will be 10 %.
This place is unique and it's full of good eateries. Lots of restaurants and other shops in an old barracks that been well renovated and decorated to suit each an individual restaurants or shops theme.
Always love Dempsey Hill for dreamy afternoons in the park and good food
An area off Napier Road / Holland with mostly restaurants, upmarket grocery and butchery stores. Also, decorative home furnishings, including carpets, and a large outlet with statures and oriental-style armoires and credenza type things. Many well-known restaurants and cafes here, and a wide mix of cuisine, including Chinese seafood, fusion, and a few bars. Parking is free and quite ample around each restaurant cluster, and this is a place that you have to drive or taxi to.
If you've got a car, this should be your 'go to" location to meet friends for coffee or a meal. I walk everywhere and I still love the vibe here, as all of the restaurants and coffee shops are in old colonial style and era buildings.
This is place is just outside of the shopping belt and close to the Botanical garden. The restaurants and other F&Bs shops there offer a good selection of choice for dimner.
Perfect place for lazy weekends. Margarita's can't fail, though plenty of choices. Huge parking area. Its kept its charm, though getting crowded year by year
There are many restaurants outlets. Quiet surroundings. Only accessible by cars and parking is free. Outlets are space far apart and many parking lots available. This place was formely used by the Singapore armed forces. Only dinning and no shopping.
Really nice house and surroundings and great service. However the food combinations are unlucky such as eggs benedict with duck rather dry on its own and made worse by being sprinkled with sweet cereals (!). Extremely pricey ($90 for 2 breakfasts with coffees - absolutely not worth it). Good place for families with kids though, very noisy.
Parking was a breeze. Could be the choices I made, the food did not leave an impression on me. I thought the idea of my dish we pretty interesting though, fusion and all...
Lots of trendy meal places to check out. Not suitable if you want to walk around and chill as there are hardly pedestrian walkways so you'd be walking on the road alongside cars and parking.
All ways a good thing about Dempsey hill history and great food, bit on the upside for affordability however great for some special occasions 😻
Perfect place for enjoying with family and friends and also for corporate party. Very good restaurants everywhere, I would suggest to make an reservation for the preffered restaurant beforehand.
I went to Dempsey Hill for the first time.
I visited Yafot Wellness Centre for a Revolutionary facial and had lunch at Margarita's.
I had a great time there.
I will need to visit Dempsey Hill again to find out more about other restaurants.
An awesome location for a morning run too!
Great place to visit whether local or tourist. Plenty of food and drink options means you can decide what you want when you get there
Great cluster of upscale restaurants, and great variety too - Greek, Mexican, Thai, Mediterranean, Indian, Western, Korean, Japanese - you have it all. Awesome location for a date night or even a business dinner
Eclectic menu with something for everyone. The decor is especially inviting, with wooden furniture and full length glass windows. On the expensive end - expect to pay upwards of $30/pax for just food.
Maybe living in Hong Kong has made me believe that you can't have nice outdoor spaces in Asian densely populated cities, but Dempsey Hill is definitely an exception to that. Especially at night is it very beautiful, with lights in the trees and barely any traffic noise. Several good restaurants with Candlenut my favorite.
Singapore chili crab is my favourite in dempsey hill because of its authentic Singapore tastes. It is highly recommended for chili crab lovers.
Dempsey is the only ideal place near Orchard if you prefer someplace quiet less buzzling and many choices of food drinks concepts for you to chill at after work. only disadvantage is not accessible by public transport unless you are ready to commute by taxi or driving own car.
Brilliant eating out options
Many eateries and restaurants, good for fine dining.Like the supermarket here that selling good quality wines, meats, vegetables and other food items.
Spoilt by wonderful selection of restaurants and bars to satiate the palate. Easy and free parking, favourite place to meet ❣️
Many restaurants for chill and meals. Best of all, it’s free parking. Have many good foods but it can be pretty pricey.
Great cars
Ideal for a casual meet up over coffee, beer or a glass of wine...
Dempsey hill is an iconic place in Singapore.
Big place, cosy ambience.
Best service out of all jumbo in singapore. You cant have nice view but i choose this outlet than any other jumbo outlet
Jumbo Chilli Crab & Samy's Curry
Completely changed compared to early days.
Please order the taro chips when you are there. They have an interesting menu and are pretty well made as well. Would recommend!
A one stop place full of cafes, restaurants and art gallery to spend a great weekend with loved ones.
A lot of nice foods around
Good for family gathering and have your meals.
Fancy area to have a dinner, it´s quite expensive and posh but there are many restaurants/bar options. There are also gardens areas.
Great selection of Italian and other european foods and wine, not generally found in Cold Storage, Market Place etc.
Lots of restaurants to eat, and very cozy environment, must visit red dot for the brewed beer on site!
Great place to indulge in gustatory pleasures. It is a bit hard to reach with public transport.
Place for good food such as Samy curry and Culina western food. There us also a meat outlets there.
I love Dempsey Hill. Loads of shops at your fingertips, plus excellent dining options.
A place with some of good restaurant with good ambience.
Unlike other tourist destinations, it is a quiet and serene place. If you are interested in fashion, it would be a good idea to check out Dover Street Market and have a meal at a nearby restaurant. I think this might be the best travel destination for travelers who are tired of crowded shopping malls. Food at restaurants and cafes is generally delicious.
It's quiet and serene. There are many delicious restaurants, local galleries, and select shops, so it's great for browsing. There is a huge pond and fountain in the middle, making it a great place to take a break.
Today we went to Dempsey Hills. Is it a village type shopping center? There are many restaurants where you can enjoy brunch. There is a butcher shop called Huber's Butchers on the grounds of Matado, and the store has a wide selection of fresh meat, ham, cheese, and more.
Perfect for a morning or mid-day walk.
For those living in Singapore, it is worth visiting at least once to relieve your lack of exercise and feel like a celebrity.
It is not a tourist destination for first-time travelers to Singapore.
However, on a sunny morning, it's definitely worth grabbing a quick grab, walking around for about an hour, and having breakfast at Osare Cafe.
The indescribably luxurious time that can only be experienced at Dempsey Hill is truly priceless.
Dempsey Hill walking route plan
Grab or taxi
To Tanglin Rd bus stop “Opp Chatsworth Rd”
2.5km to Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari via Dempsey Hill
I enjoyed my morning there, walked to the botanical garden, and went home by grab or bus.
Various restaurants with Nanyang style.
Pleasant scenery, delicious food, and a great experience.
We had a relaxing time at the forest cafe until our flight home.
The green is easy on the eyes and it's a very nice space.
If you like cafes, please stop by.
The potatoes looked delicious.
Lots of restaurants and other activities. To do in the evening.
You can also taste the famous Durian there.
We recommend you to try Vietnamese food, Feu, grilled pork bones.
It is a place with quite a few cafes and restaurants. I heard there were a lot of good cafes, but I couldn't actually go there and only used the Jumbo Restaurant.
