Reviews of Different Taste Cafe & Restaurant
superb overall experience. great food , excellent ambience, affordable prices, warm and friendly staff. all round great experience. 5/5 recommend it!
Crowded around 7:30pm. Managed to get a table at the back ad there are only two of us. Ordering is fast, but the kitchen seemed to be on overdrive. Waited more than 30mins and not yet served, which is quite uncommon here.
It's not the first time dining here and they always maintain their standard! The favourite dishes include the ikan belado and the foo yong omelette, both are cooked to perfection. This time, also ordered a chendol to try and while it might be a little too sweet, it was great tasting nonetheless. Definitely will return and hopefully try something different next time.
Enjoyed the Penang Char Kway Teow. Friendly and prompt service. Roadside parking is available.
Great place for Penang & peranakan style food. I felt a sense of fusion when I took my 1st mouthful of Penang fried kway teow beef noodles or Seafood Mee Goreng.
The curry fish head is to my liking with enough spiciness in the curry but not too much to cover my taste. The prawn nanas is also very satisfactory. I will also try their special dishes which is handwritten and pasted on the front glass panel.
Have been here twice.
Food in general tastes good. However they could do well to keep food quality consistent.
The weekend visit was great as most of the dishes were tasty, esp the signatures — honey pork ribs, curry fish head, fried prawn roll.
The more recent weekday visit had us invest less-than-tasty dishes. The signatures were not as good.
Quite noisy, went on a Saturday night
Food was great and affordable. Wouldn't recommend the Ayam Buah Keluat, but highly recommend the curry fish head and char kway teow. Sweet and sour pork not bad too.
My parents friends and I have been dining here since 2013. Now we also Grab the food and call with dietary requests. The food is tasty and fresh. Price is reasonable and clean air con environment They are also attentive and try their best to accommodate my mother's requests due to her dietary needs. Keep it up!
Ordered their today special, "garlic see hum", fried garlic chicken, claypot tofu and penang char kway teow. Every dish was above average except the fried garlic chicken., which not fully cooked, there was still blood on the meat and the meat was still on the semi cooked status. Taste was blend. Felt that the price for the dishes were on the high side.
My favorite Tze-Char restaurant, serves excellent Mee Goreng!
Food taste. Assam fish good. Ngoh hiang average. Penang char kway teow average. Triple egg spinach average. Buah keluak good. Garlic chicken price high, taste average.
Problem there is parking..... Super inadequate.
We tried the nasi lemak and char kuay teow for lunch. Nasi lemak was simple but good. Sambal was real! Not too spicy but still good. Char kuay teow is about as good as you can find in Singapore.
Definitely one of the few places i would suggest for curry fish head... has a unique sour taste (which is nice) and not too spicy and not too overwhelming with coconut milk. Ayam bua keluck and Marmite pork spare ribs are also nice. Penang fried kway teow was decent. Maybe we ordered too many nice dishes and the sambal kangkong pales in comparison.
Came with relatives, my first time here. Very family orientated, relaxed environment. Usual round restaurant tables. Pleased to see smaller rectangular tables for 4 persons. Service staff were very obliging, pleasant and attentive. The fish head curry was not spicy but ok. Recommend esp kangkong blachang with just right amount of chilli that kids can eat it. Strongly recommend the honey....pork slices. However the buah keluak tho' filled with right qty of meat, was not up to my expectation and left me wanting to prepare my own buah keluak. Overall, visit here if you want a casual a/c restaurant to have your meals with family and kids and you are not too fussy with your food.
Love the ambience n taste of Food, small n private, overall I like this Resto n Many many times come for eat. The Rojak also Good taste. Fish n Chip not bad and the Cincau also good taste. HorFun also Good. Most are good in personal opinion
Lovely food.
Just wondering if the acoustics can be improved Very noisy inside. The sounds of noise is trapped within the restaurant
The crispy chicken wings with their sambal belachan are fantastic. Try the sambal lady's fingers... I hate eating lady's fingers cos it's so slimy but I wld eat it here
Not bad. Very generous portions of food served. Had early CNY dinner at said location for a table of two and it was good.
Love the food here.
Nasi Lemak is the best.
Horfan and chendol is all good
Always enjoy the consistency of their food.
Food and service good. Go on Monday Wednesday Fridays for good discounts on chicken Monday . Prawn Wednesday and fish Fridays.
