Reviews of Dong Bei Cai Guan
A decent air-conditioned restaurant in an industrial building. They have ample seating indoors and sheltered outdoors as well. Ordered the spicy frog legs and sour vegetable fish slices. Priced reasonably. Tasty and the portion was big. The BBQ meats is good and reasonably price. Fried rice not so good. Suitable for families to gather and enjoy spicy Northern Chinese food
Never in my life, I would think to find such authentic north-eastern Chinese food in an industrial estate. Located on the 3rd floor of the building, don’t let the exterior fool you. They serve really good food here. From the barbecue skewers to the vegetable dishes, there’s nothing to fault at all. Vegetables were not over cooked and had just the right amount of sauce. The meat dishes were absolutely my favourite. Will definitely bring more friends here.
Very nice and juicy roasted lamb leg; interesting and great dinning experience. Pages and pages of menu, really spoilt for choice.
Food is well packed and delivered in good condition. No leakage ,spilled item etc. BBQ and Cold dish cucumber with garlic is a MUST try.
Seasoning ok ,can be better. ( 比较喜欢重口味)
Overall ,we are quite satisfied with the order. Will definitely order again.
Very nice cozy ambient dining room with KTV. Lovely Ding Bei food especially the Yang Rhou and Fish Mala
This restaurant is a hidden gem located in an industrial area. I've been here multiple times, and the food is always delicious. However, the Chinese lady has a rather poor attitude.
Went for dinner and had an enjoyable time at this place. Large menu of different dishes and BBQ items to choose from. Food were well prepared and flavorful. Service was fast, waiting time was short and serving size was just enough for two persons. Their pricing wise, was quite affordable too. Will be back for more.
Place is inconvenient to get to but you get great tasting food here! Definitely should drop by if you like Chinese cuisine at an affordable price range. The pig trotters are awesome! Roasted lamb leg needs to be ordered a day in advance.
They served nice food but you will enjoy if you like stronger and saltier taste! I like!!! Sitting outside while the wind is blowing felt so nice!
Authentic chinese food. The bbq skewer is very tasty
Good place to hang out with friends for a sunset view.
Food are on the oily side but nothing to complain about. Quite tasty.
Must try
1) the fried chicken with peanuts and chilli, very good with beer.
One of the few places that you can get BBQ Lamp Legs. Price is $38 per kg and one leg is usually 2kg. It is located on the 3rd floor roof top, very nice ambiance for BBQ Dinner and Beer.
The food is nice but a bit salty. The price is reasonable and there is private dining room and can sing song.
The food portion is also a lot too.
Will be back again.
Very authentic Chinese restaurant hidden in the industrial area. Food is nice and price is reasonable. Will come back again
Great hole in the wall joint that has massive Korea vibes. Skewers are affordable and the tomato omelette is utterly heavenly. If each member of your party is spending more than 30 bucks... You know what's up ☺️
Excellent food and service. However you can't have a decent conversation without raising your voice as it's very rowdy in the aircon area as the place is without soundproof. Not an ideal place for family celebration nor impress your business partners
hv been here for many years but observed the flavour is not as good as previously and the size of dish also shrinks, BBQ scallop is definitely not fresh but the shell is too over used.
This is the type of place you don’t ask questions about why it’s in an industrial park, how sanitary the kitchen is or where they source their food. Instead, you hope your food arrived timely (ours certainly didn’t), enjoy the tasty food (great skewers, great pork) and marvel at the low prices. At worst, it’s a memorable experience, at best it’s good food, good drink, and good times.
Note: They have a fully English menu and ordering is via QR, but being able to speak Chinese certainly helps. Also a lot of seating is outdoor so best to enjoy on a cool evening.
Found very affordable Chinese skewers that are also very delicious close to home! If only they had chicken head skewers… :-)
Spacious place for china-style bbq & beer.
This is my new go-to place for 東北 food! Came here twice for dinner, and had the bbq sticks and some simple dishes like mapo tofu and hot and sour soup. Hope the bbq sticks were more consistent. The first time I had them, they were perfectly cooked with the right amount of char. The fat cubes were also cooked well with just the right amount of oily goodness without being too excessive. But the second time I came here, the bbq sticks were not cooked as well as I would like, the meat did not have the nice crisp and the fats were not charred enough so it tasted quite 油膩. Will give this place another try though! The outdoor seating under the tent is so comfortable!
A little ulu, but good! Nice to find a skewer in the area!
Truly a hidden gem tuck in an industrial area. Although pricey, the dishes taste authentic and portions are adequate.
Authentic Chinese food. Best enjoyed as a big group. Signature dish is the roasted whole lamb leg. It comes on a rack piping hot.
This is a secret hidden gem zicha that serves Traditional China food dishes. Love it because its below my photo studio and I can have my late dinners after work even at 10pm since they close at 11pm.. they serve nice bbq food too
Yums food. A variety of food available. Great for big groups.
Food gets served quite fast.
Location a little inconvenient.
Best dongbei restaurant ever!
Order many times from StarTaster, best Chinese bbq in the surrounding area (╹◡╹)♡
A bit hard to find. Go up third floor and smell your way there! Lamb shank need to pre-order.
Nothing fantastic, if u don't stay or work in that area, not that easy to find that place.
Nice place to go for Chinese style BBQ
Feel relax and enjoy.
Food also delicious.
Big portion and delicious.
The Chinese restaurant in the industrial area has many seats and several private rooms, suitable for parties. There are many types of dishes, the taste is good, the price is reasonable, and it is worth recommending.
There are indoor and outdoor seats. The outdoor environment is very suitable for barbecue, beer and chat. The food is served very quickly and the service is particularly warm. When the dry tofu is served, the fragrance is as if you are back in the Northeast.
All the dishes I have eaten have the taste of my hometown. I am especially surprised: Guobao Pork and Grilled Lamb Chops.
It's okay. The portions are large, but all the dishes are on the salty side, there's no service, and the environment is just average. You can try it, but there's no need to make a special trip!
I actually ate pork rind jelly. It was the first time I ate pork rind jelly in Singapore. It was just cut into too big pieces. It was delicious even when grilled or stir-fried.
Big potion at affordable prices. Our favorite dishes are: Sliced pork slices, Guobaorou, Lamb chops. The Sichuan dishes are less authentic though.
It tastes really good, quite authentic, and the portion is good
Big space, good food
