Reviews of Elfuego by COLLIN’S® (Jewel Changi Airport)
This is the fine dining edition of Collin. The Pan-Roasted Barramundi skin is crispy and the and the flesh inside is moist, and flaky. The portion is pretty small, luckily the burn cheese cake comes with the set meal is pretty big piece. The place is quiet during lunch time but still suggest you make reservations if you comes in a big group.
Very good food at an affordable price. One of the best steak I had this year.
Yes their dishes are super delicious ! It is a halal restaurant & they won several awards . A must eat restaurant if you are at the Jewel Changi.
We ordered the set lunch & it turned out to be excellent ! A kinda served fine dining at the price of set lunch. It was presented well. The steak were cooked well to our expectations ; medium rare .The oyster appetiser are fresh .
Barramundi were cooked well too. To me ; I will give 10/10 for their food, presentation, service & ambience. The staffs ; Ms Jacinta & a guy Mr Fikri were attentive & skilful. Hats off to the chefs .
Worth eating here. Highly recommended . Glad to see a halal fine dining restaurant at the airport . Well done Elfuego by Collin’s
It exceeded my expectations in every way. The food was surprisingly delicious, with flavors that left me craving more. The presentation was impressive, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back for another delightful experience. Highly recommended!
Fantastic dining experience! Staff are attentive to our needs and prompt in service.
Excellent food, attentive service, and great atmosphere. Love their sharing mains.
Chicken Casserole is rich and creamy with just the right amount of seasoning. Order a side of toasted sourdough to mop up all the sauce.
Beef Short Rib is fall off the bone tender.
Decided to try this restaurant when I was in the vicinity.despite it being a fine dining restaurant, prices were affordable and food portions were more than expected.
I had the barramundi while the wife had the steak.both were exceptionally well.the wait staff are pleasant incredibly attentive to our needs which were much appreciated.
The cauliflower veloute was extremely thick and flavourful! Sautéed cauliflower with many colours - purple, black and white. The tofu dish texture on the other hand felt weird with the crispy bean curd. The pan roasted barramundi was nice too albeit on the pricier side. The service could have been better if they weren’t clearing the dishes in midst of conversation. Through mid conversation, we were again disrupted by the waitress asking if we wanted dessert.
Came here for a family dinner. It was not initially packed when we arrived at about 6pm but after 30mins, the place is packed full of customers. Food is good especially the salmon main dish. Ordered the tomahawk steak for sharing and they recommended medium rare doneness but the steak was below medium rare which was a disappointment. Good ambience which is great for dates and gatherings. Servings are well portioned and service is good.
I’ve walked past this restaurant several times but had never tried the food due to the sheer number of options in Jewel. I finally had a chance to do so yesterday with my Muslim friend and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food served. The salmon and sea bass were cooked beautifully; tender and moist inside. I’ve had overcooked salmon many times before and I got to say this branch of Collin’s got it right! The sauces accompanying the fish were also well-balanced and complimented the dishes well. We loved the wagyu beef croquette hot starter: tasty and crispy, perfect way to start our meal! Would definitely return again soon to try other dishes. Kudos to the chefs!
We ordered 2 Ribeye steaks, Seasalt fries Litchi Fragola and Apple soda. The ribeye steak were both perfection. The "Seasalt" fries were absolutely disappointing. Not even a pinch of salt on the fries was found. Avoid the fries its a waste of your $8. Everything else was perfect.
Had the Tomahawk, seafood stew, fried oysters, scallop, squid, chicken, asparagus, broccoli, baramundi, panna cotta and a few more of their specialities. Overall, We had a sumptuous meal and it's reasonably priced for a big family!
Found this place to do a team lunch for 6 pax.
Nice atmosphere and food. Set lunch is very worth it for its price compared to the corresponding ala-carte. But not sure if set lunches are of a smaller portion. (E.g. 1 oyster for appetizer).
2 guys had their steak served wrongly (medium vs medium-rare). We were given complimentary drink for the 2 pax.
Fresh fish and good steak.
Overall good food and nice atmosphere.
First time trying. Food was super delicious. Food portions were more than I expected for such a restaurant, made me feel like it was value for money (especially if you get the 2/3 course meal which I chose to not get). Drink was prepared quickly and tasted good. Meat was tender and felt like it practically melted in my mouth. I didn’t have to wait long for the food to arrive (probably because it’s a weekday but the restaurant was moderately occupied when we walked-in around 2pm). Staff serving us was efficient and professional. I would definitely recommend to others and seems better to reserve than walk-in because I can see how it could get pretty occupied during the weekend or peak periods.
Well my friend decided to eat dinner outside. And we saw this Elfuego at Jewel.
We have waited for I think 15-20 minutes to have a table. Because it was really crowded that time (so much better that you must have a reservation going there ). We are placed near the kitchen where the chefs are doing their thing.
For starters, we ordered for fried scallops. Which I can say is worth it's price.
We have ordered a steak for main dish, we have asked the staff on how big it is? She said it's good for two persons. And when it comes, as in whoa!! The serving is for almost 3-4 pax.
Aesthetically it's looks delicious.
The tiramisu cake, is so cute that we don't even want to eat it. Not that sweet and not that bland.
I just wish that there is more space ao that tables can be a bit far from each other.
The time of serving of the food is a bit slow. But the staff are attentive to your needs.
And I might say also, it is quite pricey, so much better bring along the whole gang. 😅
Took the 2 course set lunch, value for money.
Not the biggest portion but definitely a good portion to save some room for dessert after.
The seafood here is fresh, highly recommended.
My friend tried the Hokkaido Scallops; cooked to perfection, tender, juicy and buttery soft.
I tried the Red Prawns; bright flavors, succulent and refreshing.
The Barramundi flaked beautifully, with a nicely crusted skin. The Beurre Blanc was so decadent and rich. The slight tang elevated the freshness of the fish.
The food is really good. Meats were tender and well marinated (we ordered lamb, chicken and duck). Even my 18 month old loved the lamb rack. We all know toddlers are super picky, but they loved everything.. So it tells you the food is good.
Service is impeccable. Staff knew how to humor my two young ones. We had an enjoyable meal that day.
Food was amazing, the portions are also sufficient/big. I recommend the short ribs for sharing.
Drinks was refreshing especially the ginger nohito.
Service was extra ordinary, the waitress Jacinta was very professional and helpful, her recommendations was amazing.
We were there on a weekday lunch at around 1.30pm, we were asked if we made any reservations so we said no & we were ushered to a table near the open kitchen although there were other better seating elsewhere. Nonetheless, we sat and view the menu.
Restaurant was perhaps 65-70% filled but most of them already finishing their meal.
Waitress came by & took our order (they don't serve water) but is ok because we ordered drinks.
We waited approximately 20+mins for the main to arrive, perhaps is my own expectations (watched too much Hell Kitchen), the wait is kinda long for me. Although there were quite a number of chefs in the kitchen, but I noticed that they were serving lunch for the own service staff which could have explained for the additional wait time for my food to arrive.
Verdict
1. Prepare to wait, if it is lunch or dinner.
2. Food : Acceptable - no wow factor
3. Price : $$$+
4. Revisit : No, there are many other restaurants in Jewel to try out the food.
We were greeted by manager, Abdillah, who promptly set a table for 2.5 pax.
We were then served by Irene who took the time ensuring that she got our orders right.
I love their Steak Fries. Texture and size are perfect. Crispy and lightly salted.
The Grilled Sour Dough was loved by our daughter.
Their Slow Cooked Chicken is nicely paired with barley, corn and crispy brown rice.
The Spiced Local Duck Breast goes well with the sauce lightly drizzled on top.
Irene recommended us not to have the Charcoal-Grilled Australian Wagyu Bavette Steak to be well done as we may not get to taste its flavour. She also told us that the garnishes were imported and it would be a waste if discarded.
Our birthday dessert was a perfect mix of Raspberry Au Craquelin, Pistachio Creme Chiboust with Raspberry sorbet.
Shout out to Eddon who entertained our daughter who was clearly enjoying herself.
I entered here struggling to hold on to my size 34 pants. I left the place with the pants holding tight to my waist.
Love the plating and service. A bit pricey but that's kinda expected. They have updated their menu twice before so be sure to check if your faves are still available. Was disappointed with the aged Wagyu for the overwhelming taste and smell (available only on Thursdays). Drinks are pretty but taste can be improved.
I had 3 meals menu, and all was delicious and satisfying. But the cheese cake, oh, it was the star!
Plus, the staff are really nice and helpful.
Seated a table of 4, arrived around 6 but was told that all seats were reserved and availability would be known at 6.30. Almost all the tables had a reserved sign on a Sunday night. Received a call close to 6.30 that a table was ready to be seated.
For casual fine dining, the prices were relatively affordable in the high-20s to mid-30s for a main. Non-alcoholic beverages in the high single digits.
Beverages arrived quickly with a short waiting period before the mains arrived.
All the mains were good. Plating was pleasant with a sprinkle of green. Salmon was flaky, the Chilean Seabass (or Asian Cod) was evenly cooked. The Barramundi (or Asian Seabass) had a decent portion. The lamb chops had a choice of doneness, the medium-doneness and even throughout.
Was not aware of any seating time limit common in dining establishments at airports, the meal was not rushed though servers were quick to collect the dishes once they were finished.
On the whole a pleasant meal and a good choice for western cuisine.
The restaurant came off as a little lacking of warmth both literally and figuratively. It had a no free tap water policy so didn't get a glass of warm water. While other restaurants (even cafes) in Jewel served free tap water, Elfuego with prices around similar range didn't, was a disappointment. The service staffs were polite and professional though.
The dishes were great. The red snapper was nicely cooked with delicious citrus infused gravy. The chewy lamb rack also tasted good but a little difficult to eat.
So this is my second review and the place has kept its service and food standards. My current go to is now the wagyu at rare doneness. I can safely say that Elfuego has perfected the art of steaks and you won’t regret eating their wagyu steak rare.
Don’t miss out on the mussels and fries as well, they complement your meal exceedingly well.
5 stars! Had a big corporate gathering here for an appreciation some of the members. Jacinta was super helpful in organising the lunch for some 30+ people.
The prices are worth the portion sizes. Will recommend!
I want to commend Farah and Muis for their exceptional customer service. Their patience, knowledge, and professionalism are truly commendable. Keep up the great work. Your assistance was truly exceptional! Thank you for your patience and expertise. I'm impressed by your outstanding customer service skills. You made my experience delightful! Kudos to both of you for your warm and attentive service. It's rare to find such dedicated professionals! I appreciate your kindness and efficiency. You both went above and beyond to assist me, and I'm grateful."
Food are pricy as compare to other Collin’s. It looks more posh but food quality doesn’t justified the price. Even though it is more posh but the service was just minimal. They don’t serve ice water unless customer purchase the bottled water or Evian. The steaks that we ordered didn’t come as what we requested. It was over cooked. The ribeye steak ($28) taste better and more tender then the wagyu steak ($33).
Duck (5/10) - Very tough duck, the skin is difficult to chew also had to spit out. Hope to have more vegetables like the carrot 🥕 and potato 🥔.
Wagyu beef (3/10) - tough and expensive.
Ocean trout (9/10) - nice
Seabass (9/10) - nice
Drink (6/10) - Earl Grey tea with fresh lime infused macchiato foam tastes nice, but not suitable for lactose intolerant people.
Dessert:
Cheesecake (9/10) - tasty
Mushroom tiramisu (7/10) - bit sour Chocolate (8/10) - so so
Customer service was very good. The staffs were super friendly. However, they rarely check up on the tables on whether do we need anything. One of the staff who has short hair, kudos to her! She was the best among all and even explained to us about the dishes.
Food wise, main dishes were acceptable. Whole roasted chicken is not recommended, its quite dry and nothing great on it. Duck portion was really little and not really recommend as well. Their desserts are very good such as the burnt cheesecake. Juices not recommended as i do not think its fresh. More of bottled juices beingn served. Overall, good ambience and food is okay.
Wagyu beef is nice..
Grilled fish is nice..
Chicken ok.
Fries as it is..
Drinks are nice.
Good service. The food is tantalizing and taste great. What you pay is what you get. Food portion is just nice for a 3 meal set (appetizer, main & dessert). Estimated price S$60 per pax.
Celebrated my birthday here and the food were delicious. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. We will most definitely come back for other occasions.
The oysters are great and the desserts are quite pretty. I think the downside would be that they are priced on the higher side. However the restaurant IS fine dining, and priced accordingly.
Collin's standard. Staff is good serive especially the malay man staff.
Exceptional dining indeed, kudos to the chef and staff. We loved the food and will surely return.
Ambience was just okay although at first glance it might seem nicer than it really is. The food was good, well proportioned.
The place doesn’t serve water. I think providing water for customers is a basic thing to do. We also had to settle our payment at the counter. I just feel that for a place like this, the service can be improved. I personally will not be back but I think my sisters would.
One of the best halal places in sg that serves good food. Presentation was good as well. Staffs were friendly and went the extra mile.
We’re having some afternoon tea, coffee, and cakes. Really like the cakes being recommended by the server.
delicious food, amazing service. 👍 this is my second time here, and i am indeed satisfied ☺️
Food was ok...could be better seasoned...it was barely warm when we had it...but the meat was soft and tender...we had rib eye and angus...the dessert was awesome...
Went for set lunch. Food was fabulous, the starter portion was a tease though. Staff were attentive, ambience was great for a meet up especially on a weekday.
Service and food are good. Recommend getting the lunch set and do make reservation as it gets quite crowded during lunch hours even on weekdays.
Done-Ness of wagyu flank to my preference 💯(Medium)
Slow cook Rib was smooth like butter. Easy to eat and delicious.
Worth it!
Celebrating honeymoon here. Angus steak was perfectly done. Service by Jacinta was so warm. Had a great time here . Will come again for Special occasion
I had the 3 course set lunch - glazed duck breast. Delicious food and great service.
Excellent food at reasonable prices. Second time here, and will definitely be back for a third and many more!! :)
Was informed that there are no reservations for the weekend. Requested to place a deposit fr the table and come back later but was declined. No issue, went to queue fr the ramadhan breakfast. 6 other couples ahead of us were not given a table but a family of 10 whom apparently were friends / family with the staff was allowed to sashay in. Manager claimed they were there earlier. Service though was still excellent as usual.
Dined here for the first time and ordered the ribeye steak and tomato salad (set lunch). It's really good!
We have been here a few times. The food and service never fail us. Today is especially special because we are celebrating my husband's birthday. Muiz was the one taking care of our table. He was attentive and took the time to ask us about the food and how was satisfied are we with our dinner. We always eat the steak and slow-cook short ribs. Very very tender and moist. Definitely worth coming here. Thank you Muiz for taking care of us today :)
My friend and I had a wonderful lunch experience at Elfuego by Collin's. Our waitress, Farah, was incredibly polite and helpful throughout our meal. The food not only tasted amazing but was also beautifully presented, and the restaurant's ambiance added to the overall experience. Highly recommended!
I ordered truffle ravioli, taste like frozen food and not hand made. Food is not worth it. The price of ravioli in Elfuego is not cheap and the price of that can a better and nicer ravioli in other restaurants.
Tomahawk was great and delicious.
Service was great however, since its a restaurant with pricey food, it will be best that the service must be enhanced.
Your staff, MUIZ, welcomed us with recommendations to help us understand the food served here. We are lucky to have him and hope that other customers get to experience his great service. We are satisfied with his recommendations and the food is satisfactory except for the side dish, the portion is small. Overall good experience and excellent ambience.
Ordered lamb rack and i was totally the opposite of disappointed! Juicy and tender. Great for the price range.
First time here for lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday, mainly for the steak. Had put a little note in my reservation for a nice little corner and we got just that. Our waitress that day was Jacinta, a very friendly staff who makes sure that we enjoy our meal throughout. She even suggested some recommendations from the menu. Also making sure the birthday boy is enjoying himself. Food wise, no disappointments - maybe cause we were starving. Overall a wonderful experience for both of us. Will definitely come back with our toddler next time to try other selection from the menu (and hopefully be served by Jacinta again!).
The atmosphere was amazing, the service was great and fast and the staff were very friendly. The food also tasted amazing. Would love to come back one day. Mr Azri was also a very good and friendly waiter.
Dinner on my son’s birthday and was attended by Muiz and Jac.Both display great personality and recommended dishes for us.
We had pleasant experience and kudos to both of them.
Looking forward to dine again here.
Thank you
Good customer service. I had a wonderful birthday night w friends ☺️
Continuous dining experience for 1 year now. Really love their food. 👍
We have a big group of 25 pax. Jacinta is so helpful to take our pre-orders and manage our orders so well by taking note of which of us sitting at which table and seat so that her team could serve the food accurately and efficiently. Jacinta served us warmly and genuinely. She too customized the set menu for us.
The Barranmundi and salmon are very fresh! And many of my friends commented that the food taste great.
I will come back again!
Great service by the floor manager, and most service staffs were attentive and gave good suggestions on food as it was our first time here. Ordered fish, chicken and dry aged beef for sharing and couple of appetizers plus sides. The dry aged beef disappointed us, it was not the smell that put us off as we know that it will have a distinct fragrance to a 45 days old. As it was supposed to be the highlight of our meal, we asked for chefs recommendation on the doneness. We were recommended to have it medium and when it came, a rather large chunk was rare and the sides were burnt. The rare parts was not fit for consumption so a good portion was wasted. Not sure if I'll be coming back but hopefully chef can be more attentive to perfecting the dry aged beef since it is the signature. The overall experience was passable.
Nice food
The staff almost all seemed like they have only been working there for a week. Service was underconfident and awkward, which made the table feel awkward as well. We were advised wrongly that we had ordered too little, and we ended up with too much food
Special thanks to one of the crew members, Izah, for the great customer service and also for recommending this lovely Pan roasted toothfish.
Great food, great place, great people!
The beef does not taste like ribeye as in the menu maybe sirloin.. and it was too tough for medium well. The octopus was not cleaned well and was too hard. Below expectation for pricey food, anyways will not be back.
If I ever want to feel better about my home cooking skills, I can visit this restaurant. Mildly interesting. One recommendation: Kitchen staff should wear hair cover or toque.
An excellent dining experience!
I highly recommend Chang airport if you happen to be on the Singapore side.
The meat was very delicious! 😋⤴️
Eat!
Great 👍
The environment is first-class and the food is cost-effective. I will come again
