Reviews of En Sushi Japanese Restaurant Singapore
The place is sooo good. We had the best sushi, and the service was great. This this was our waitress and she was kind and helpful and gave great recommending. Don’t miss the sushi - it is the best!
wonderful service from the staff and amazing food, the staff were very attentive and made us feel super comfortable throughout our meal! food was fantastic and have been coming here for 3 years straight
1st time dine in here .staff very friendly ,sashimi very fresh so far all food we order was so good.recommend beef steak so tender medium rare
Was craving for Japanese food and in the area.
Friend recommended En Sushi for the freshness of their sashimi. She did caution that the freshness comes at a price. Which I find to be a reasonable price to pay, for fresh sashimi. Food was great and served fast. Perhaps, partially also due to the lack of crowd given it’s not located within the nearby malls. The restaurant is actually not too far from the MRT, took me barely 6 minutes of leisure walk. Do consider if you are looking for fresh sashimi. The sake and fish selection is pretty decent too.
Staff, including the manager are all very attentive and warm as well. I made some request and was promptly assisted. I enjoyed my dinner at En Sushi. 😊
The sashimi on the rice was cut very nicely and all tasted pretty good, especially the hamachi with a slight touch of yuzu. We thought the tuna could be better but maybe we're not huge fans of maguro.
Overall good ambience during lunch time, great for conversations and having a nice meal.
Very nice place. Friendly staff members. Food is nice too. Will be back again 🌟
Found a very nice Japanese restaurant in town. Friendly staff. Food was good, quality food. Will go back there again.
Went there for dinner, 2 mains, an appetiser and 2 teas ran me just under 90, the staff was friendly and accommodating (my company and I eloquently requested for the feline decorated bowl and they kindly provided), the atmosphere was hushed, peaceful and pleasant. The setting itself is nice, everything is clean and most importantly, the food was really good.
Overall food is great only squid was rather underwhelming. Highlight would be dessert actually.
I had an amazing experience here. Food is amazing. Servers are very proactive. I was delighted by the professional service by Thin Thin. She has excellent product knowledge, she is proactive and constantly delighting all her customers.
Place is clean and ambience is amazing.
I will definitely come again.
What a great find! The food, the service and the quality was amazing. Thank you to our server Khine for making our first night in Singapore so enjoyable!
The food here is really good, I love the sashimi and the sushi here. Service is good too.
We had a wonderful experience at En Sushi! The food was delicious and, above all, we felled so well cared for. The server gave us excellent advice on the choice of sakes and dishes. It meant a lot for someone who is not familiar with Japanese cuisine. Thank you so very much for your kindness! We will certainly come back.
I went here with my kids and we really enjoyed every bit of it. There was excellent customer service. I would recommend to anyone 😊
Friendly service.
Polite staff.
Cozy atmosphere.
All staff especially Thin Thin are friendly and nice.
Just came last Tuesday with friends. Came today with my boys.
Will come again.
Not so accessible. But the food and service are worth it.
Good job. Lim
Food is absolutely fantastic, and pretty decent value considering that it is in such a location. Would definitely return
Great spot for sushi, variety of items on the menu and all very fresh.
The grilled squid was a little bit of a let down, rather chewy and not much flavour.
On the expensive end even though it only shows as $$, more like a $$$.
Never fails to deliver. Was here with my buddy for Nth time a few weeks ago. Quality and consistency is key and they have never failed. Owner friendly and engaging. Makes the whole experience wonderful. Appreciate the Chef and team’s standard of quality of food served.
Food and service at the restaurant was nice.
My only criticism of the place is that reservations can only be made from 530 to 6 and 730 to 8. Whilst I understand protocols are there to be followed, it would be great if the staff could practise some flexibility especially on an off peak day.
Special shout out to Connie, she realised my aunt was celebrating her birthday and gave us a pleasant surprise with a birthday cake.
Decent quality for the price, especially for lunch. Came without reservation on a Saturday at around 2pm and was about 60pct full. Service very good and food prep was very quick. We ordered to Dons one salmon Ikura and the premium as well as 2 hand rolls. Food was good, as expected would say that the seaweed on the hand rolls could have been crispier but other that tasty. Setting is relaxing not too cold (many places in Singapore have found are like refrigerators!) nice ambience and chilled neutral music. Will come again.
Came here for my friend's birthday and it was a pleasant experience. The steak was well cooked, very tender and flavourful, it was better without the sauce though! Sashimi is really fresh but the cut was slightly too thick.
Ebi and Soft shell crab rolls are delicious however they do not have any differentiation in terms of flavours, both flavour profiles are relatively similar.
We love the combination of the soba salad ! The grilled squid can be more grilled to bring out the flavour and slightly crispness will give better texture.
At first I walked pass by this place due to it has a small entrance :-P
Service crews are friendly and have a nice ambience to enjoy chit chatting with your friends and family!
Price per person : $40-50
We reserved a table for 3 for dinner. Food was good and sashimi very fresh. The beer ramen's presentation was interesting. We thought it was ramen in beer but it was ramen with broth presented in beer mug. Nevertheless it was quite refreshing. Service was given lower because the service staff was unable to respond to our queries, likely part timers.
We had great sushi. It was our best experience. The staff is very friendly.
An absolute must when you are in Singapore and would like to have Japanese food.
Located in Middle Road, the entrance is from ground floor and you climb up the stairs to the restaurant on the second floor. Lots of seating and private rooms available. Extensive menu, appetitzers, sushi, sashimi, Don bowls, grills meats. The beef is quite good as well as the desserts. For average $50/pax can have a reasonable meal.
It is conveniently located near Bugis MRT and very conducive for a meal with friends. Service was prompt, and they were very attentive. We had a birthday cake with them, and they understood to bring it out at the right time when we finished our meal, and even sang along with us! The food was great as well :)
The sashimi here was absolutely fresh and made an impression with their sweet buttery taste! The moriawase was definitely worth the money as every single slice was cut to perfection! The beef steak as with all the rest of the reviews here... Was great! It was totally addictive when eaten with the deep fried garlic! The sushi roll was however a bit of a disappointment but I'm guessing it's bcos I didn't order their signature ? All in all, it's still a great place for some good sashimi fix!
The sashimi is super fresh & the sushi is super tasty. The desert is nice too. Service is excellent too.. the atmosphere in the restaurant is very peaceful & decor is nice too. Will strongly recommend to eat at this restaurant
Appetisers came in tiny portion but taste great (grilled stingray fin - 5/5 great flavour and crisp, deep fried prawns - 3/5 (too much batter)).
Grilled squid with salt - huge portion, but personally I prefer that it's grilled slightly longer for slight crispy, thus 4/5.
Chirashi don was generous with the portion. Sashimi was fresh with none of the fishy stench.
Aburi salmon/deep fried prawn with mentaiko roll was good. Not excessive amount of rice. More salmon/prawn than rice - 5/5.
Overall rating:
Ambience - 5/5
Taste - 4/5
Value - 4/5
We were helped by Thin Thin - everything was lovely. I especially appreciated the opportunity to try Sake and Uni for the first time - it was very special. The sashimi was so fresh and everyone was friendly and helpful. The En Maki was also very good, for those westerners not in too much of an adventurous mood.
Entrance of restaurant is small at street level with en cloth hang at entrance that leads to beautiful spacious restaurant at second floor.
Food Is good and tasty, with big portion served. Its one of the places that served thick fat sashmi.
Only chawanmushi taste plain not to my liking
Recommend mentai salmon(super nice), en sahami ... hamachi sashimi, swordtail sashimi
First time coming here, and it is definitely 1 of my most favorite Japanese restaurants here in Singapore, portions of the dishes were awesome, the sashimi was thick and chunky, the sushi was very fresh!(Let the pictures do the talking) 😋😋😋 Overall i spend $200, reasonable pricing in my opinion! Love the design and layout, i will come back here again with my wife 😍😍😍
Great lunch at a such cozy place with fresh sashimi and oyster.
Hidden germs in Singapore. Fresh fish
Reasonably priced !
The restaurant is very well designed and eye catching the moment you step through the door. The staff is super friendly and welcoming that and greets you ambitiously. Atmosphere is great with soothing music and a wide display of various sakes. The food is slightly cheaper than other Japanese restaurants. The food came quick and was presented very professionally. The food overall was delicious and super tasty. Definitely recommended for everyone to stop by and try the delicacies that they offer. Recommended dishes are the "Beef steak" and "Spicy salmon".
Nice, cozy joint, hidden in unassuming Midland House. The food is very good, delicately prepared. As expected, the sashimi is super fresh.
This place is amazing! One of the best sushi I ever had . I come to Singapore every year and the experience on this restaurant is just off the chart . Make sure you have Thin Thin serving you ! She is the best .
First time at En Sushi and the price was very reasonable. Food was pretty decent as well. Really enjoyed the yellowtail cheek! Juicy and soft at the same time. The beef steak was so good that we ordered 2! Strongly recommend this place for a big party! Try it!
The staff were attentive when required and I felt that the seating was very comfortable and decent, I almost wanted to order everything in the menu, but the maki with salmon is a must try. Price range is slightly on the high side but it’s decent for the food quality. I will definitely come back again.
Walked pass there and saw their $10.80 poster and decided to try their bara chirachi don. We order through eatsy(app) and got $3 off (min.spend 25$). We ordered one normal and one upsize bara chirashi don. It was delicious and normal size is quite small. Good variety of fish. The environment was nice and quiet.
Disappointed that they charge us water. I mean it’s tap water.
Anyway. Will go back again if there is any promotion.
A simple unnoticeable entrance on the first floor hides a spacious and beautiful restaurant upstairs. The food is on the pricey side, but quality of the ingredients make it worthwhile on occasion.
Sashimi cuts were thick and fresh, beef was tender and cooked perfectly. Sushi rice could have been a little more flavourful to match the fish. Slightly understaffed and service could improve a little.
Great place in the heart of town without a queue, and that on 14 Feb.
Ordered the premium sashimi and beer ramen special.
Sashimi was thick-cut and the beer ramen was quite a novel way to serve. Ramen was al-dente the way I like it, and the umami broth had all the right flavor.
Will certainly visit again
Our server was lovely, food was fresh and priced fairly. Me and my girlfriend were visiting Singapore and didn’t wanna break the bank but wanted sushi, and we were not disappointed!
I think its easy to enter captain k (grd level) by mistake after spotting en sushi's signboard. checking in was pretty smooth with reservation on a friday night. Ordered 2xchirashi don, grilled teriyaki squid, salmon ebi roll and a bottle of sake. bill totalled to 150bucks for 2pax. the chirashi don and sushi roll was decent, grilled squid was good. service was good, staff checked in on me for my drink order while i was waiting for friend. environment is pretty condusive.
Very pleasant experience even when bringing my kids! The ambience is great and the staff are very friendly and professional at providing great services to us and our kids! I will definitely visit this place again!
Was skeptical about the high reviews on Gmaps, but En Sushi definitely lives up to its ratings! Extremely fresh, tastes like sushi from Japan. Love the service and decor. We went on a Sunday night and it wasn’t crowded. Comfortable ambiance for a nice Sunday evening meal.
Nice relaxed setting and not overly tight so there is sufficient space between tables.
Let’s start with drinks, since it’s the first they’d ask for orders. Beverage alcohol or non-alcohol list is rather limited. Sufficient variety of sake but don’t know enough to comment on quality. But big disappointment is that they do not serve whisky highballs. Only do whisky by the bottle.
Dishes are slightly above average but not exceptional. Tried the following:
- scallop carpaccio with mentaiko: nice but overpowered by the mentaiko.
- soba salad: really great texture with mixture of soba, corn, okra, seaweed, crunchy crackers and a bunch more. The combination of ingredients and the flavor is awesome... highly recommended!
- nigiri assorted was good but not great. Meat to rice ratio is good.
- makis looked more awesome than it tastes. It was okay but again, not great.
- sashimi of salmon belly and tuna was okay but generous serving.
- yakitoris were also good and find it hard to mess up.
- dessert was this tofu cheesecake. Very good indeed and worth a try!
Service was uncertain through out but are still very accommodating. Biggest let down was that they forgot our dessert. Even after the first reminder, the server completely forgot about it and we had to check the second time only to realise our order was not even submitted. Shocking to have missed our order and more so after a reminder, especially for a place charging higher.
May only return for a second chance if there is a very good reason or if I’m there stranded by rain... otherwise for the price, there are better options for sure.

Khine really give us excellent service. First time here and the food was delicious and good portions.
The food was so fresh and delicious, the service was prompt and pleasant!! Thin Thin was our server and had great suggestions off the menu and for our trip!
Sashimi slice was fresh, thick and generous. The beef doneness is also just right. Spacious and good ambience.
This is a pretty decent sushi restaurant. It offers premium fish as reasonable prices. I ordered the 9 Kind Premium Sushi Moriawase which includes Otoro, Chutoro and Uni. The Otoro melts in your mounth, and the Chutoto charred had a good smoky flavor. The uni was sweet and similar to Hokaiddo uni. I also order live clams which was tasty and not as fishy as I thought it would be. Although pricey it wasn't as bad as some of the high end restaurants. I would definitely come back here again.
One of my favourite place for Japanese food. Love the freshness and good service. They do have an extensive menu but I always ordered the same stuff.
Ordered from En Sushi twice during Circuit Breaker and the food has been consistently good. Great value too with the 1-for-1 Donburi offer. Fav are the Bara Chirashi, beef steak and Peitan Tofu
Thin thin was a fantastic host! The drinks were great and the squid was perfection. I absolutely would recommend!
Went late evening to celebrate our anniversary. The En Sashimi - fresh, thick cut, assorted with the right portions. Tasted great with the wasabi & soy sauce. Went along with delicious Pitan Tofu, Edamame and hot Green Tea.
Service was excellent with Ching & Team including Annie. Request were promptly provided and frequent checks, for add on services & topping up drinks
Outlet was not prominent from footpath. We were introduced by referral to En Sushi. Boss Kenneth recommended we should try the ground level grilled foods.
Overall food, place and ambience were acceptable.
A lovely quaint restaurant we have been visiting for years, great food and service! The seasonal wagyukushi skewers are very yummy!
First time here, great food, excellent service, especially the good recommendation from Thin Thin…def back again and recommend for friends…
Good authentic Japanese food at reasonable prices, with excellent service in a very cosy setting. Tried the sashimi, Gindara set and soft-shell crab. Eager to try more dishes next time!
Food was great, house sake was very nice. Sashimi delivered. The jellyfish appetizer was very good. Kimchi gyoza too. Tako wasabi always the best. Thanks! I’d come back.
The taste of the food we ordered couldn't justify the high price. Portion was smaller than what we see on the menu. Curry taste pretty instant/pre packed.
Definitely will come back again. Very value for money. Thick and fresh sashimi. Maki is a must try too.
Found this place on Google and it really deserves the 5 Stars. Thanks for the great food.
It’s not an authentic Japanese meal at all. The Japanese rice is hard. The salmon is not fresh at all. I don’t know where the 4.5 rating comes from!
The sushi was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant was cooled down a bit too much for our taste, so only 4 out of 5 stars for the ambience. The bottom line is that we can only recommend the restaurant!
Personally, I think it’s average, pretty good.
Delicious sushi, fresh fish and refined flavours. The quality of the food is very high and the chefs work before your eyes. The dishes are presented in a very inviting way even if simple. Very intimate and relaxing environment. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended
The food is delicious and affordable, the environment is comfortable and beautiful, and the service is cute and efficient. I love this store and must check in!
