Reviews of Fortune Court (Chinatown)
This restaurant appeared in a “8 days “ news article in early November. It deserves more diners. The food here is excellent and has a robust “Wok Hei” in almost all dishes. It is reasonably priced and service is really good. The owner Connie Chee is friendly, cheerful and attentive.
When we step inside this small restaurant, we thought it was a tourist trap as all diners were foreigners.
I was proven wrong, the dishes that we ordered, lychee sweet and sour pork, chef’s three-cups wine chicken in claypot were delicious.
The deep-fried soft shell crab coated with dry chili and corn flakes was a let down as it was very dry and hard.
The staff were friendly and overall it was still a good dining experience.
The white pepper crab is a solid 10/10. For its price it’s HUGE and super fresh? The meat was so so sweet?!? Love the salted egg prawn balls too! Also please get the truffle beef. Service was great! Thank you laobanniang!
The food was simply great! My family enjoyed every dish that was served. The chilli crab was served on a huge plate with a generous serving of sauce. The 三杯鸡, 海蜇, 鱼香茄子,蟹肉炒饭 and orh nee (yam dessert) were awesome. Yuzu drink was refreshing too on a hot day. The staff who attended to us was very cordial and helpful, always seen with a smile on her face! In a nutshell, my family was very pleased with the service and food! We will be back for more.
Food was great. Just a little salty. But overall was good. The silver fish fried rice is delicious and big portion for L size for 11 of us. Lady boss was very polite and friendly. The place was kind of squeeze, though, for the 12 of us.
I just walked in and was attracted by the environment here. I didn't expect the food inside to be so delicious. The price is also very reasonable. I will recommend other friends to eat here. Like
We were finding somewhere to have cereal prawn and Chinese food for dinner and ran into this restaurant. All the food we ordered was over expected, tasty and delicious! The restaurant is air-conditioned which is beneficial for tourists who have been outdoor all day long! Highly recommended!
A restaurant tucked away in a corner overshadowed by the monumental Sri Mariamman Temple next to it. It serves Chinese food but at tourist prices compared to many other options in the vicinity. The lychee sweet and sour pork we had was good and the seafood homemade tofu too was pleasing.
Recommended by a friend and I arrived much earlier. Staff was friendly, brings out Lunar New Year goodies to let us try and we ended up buying.
Food portion was good and taste surprising good. For ordering of dishes, those with the hats are recommended. We ordered few dishes and found that the Beef, Tofu were surprisingly tasty. Probably partly due to their favouring which is rather unique for me.
The only challenge for me was the address is hard to find on Google Map. What Google gives is the back alley of the shop.
Take note if you are heading there.
Fantastic food especially their 5 stars beef and cereal prawns. Will highly recommend all to try this friendly staff with tasty food restaurant. For all small dishes only about $135 all in for 4 pax.
Great food and service. Definitely recommend the Lobster Noodle and the Beef which is full of umami and so so tender! 👌
Nice cosy restaurant for mom's bday celebration. Food is delicious, worth the price, will definitely come back again.
Especially love the sweet and sour pork, pork floss eggplant, truffle prawn with asparagus.
Was craving for crab so I searched on google and came here. They ran out of crab actually, and offered the stir fried noodles with lobster instead. Food was good in general and staffs, also the owner are super friendly. You can sit outside or inside with AC and big round table. When I came there was not much of guest but it took quite some time for someone to come get my order. People who sit outside might need to wait much longer. If they could improve that then that’s the best!
Most of the dishes were delicious, especially lychee pork, signature prawn, and egg conpoy with crab meat.
However, pink guava drink can be improved. Steamed groupa meat was a little tough.
Service staff was friendly and nice!
Dinner here tonight. Place is packed and glad that we made reservations. Ordered eight dishes for 5 adults and two children.
Food came out relatively quickly considering that the restaurant was very crowded.
All the dishes were extremely tasty.
Fried brinjal with pork floss was crispy and flavourful. The salted egg prawn was delicious. The lychee pork was the favorite of the children. Steamed soon hock was wonderful but the fish was a little small. The tofu with seafood and mushrooms was savoury albeit a little too salty. The wok hey horfun had really strong wok hey and it's one of the best I had. The lobster noodle was too salty. The truffle beef is so tender and had a strong truffle taste.
Overall, really enjoyed my dinner here.
Most dishes are yummy, friendly services, reasonable prices, convenient location. Strongly recommended.
The three cup beef was amazing! We did not expect this texture! The signature prawns were great as well. We ordered some other dishes, including the lobster Ee Mian and all were good. Hope to be back with a larger group so that we can try a greater variety.
Sweet sour pork with lychee, soft shell crab, asparagus and salted egg prawn dishes were delicious. Will definitely be back with the parents.
Stepping into Fortune Court felt like entering a modern oasis amidst bustling Chinatown of Singapore. The ex-Michelin chef pedigree shone through in every dish, especially the melt-in-your-mouth lobster ee fu noodles, bathed in rich XO sauce. Don't miss the decadent black truffle beef, where the earthy aroma perfectly complements the tender meat. This restaurant is a must-try for anyone seeking elevated Cantonese cuisine in a stylish setting.
Indulge in a culinary journey at this gem of a restaurant!
Each dish tantalizes the taste buds with exquisite flavors, leaving you craving for more. The attentive service ensures a delightful dining experience from start to finish. It's no surprise that the restaurant is always bustling with patrons eager to savor its offerings.
Don't miss out on the chance to treat yourself to a memorable meal at this must-visit establishment.
With its delicious food and impeccable service, it's sure to become a favorite dining spot for locals and visitors alike.
The food here is good. Service staff are friendly. Would recommend making a reservation for a weekend dinner as it gets crowded and the restaurant seating (indoors) is not huge.
The lychee sweet and sour pork is good. Chef salted egg prawn balls are great. Claypot eggplant was normal would try other vegetables next time. The silver fish fried rice was great too lots of wok hey.
Food was great, not one dish was a letdown. The steamed fish was well cooked too! The ee fu mian has quite a strong lard taste, yummy but not the same as the vegetarian ones you would typically eat in other restaurants. Crowded especially on a Friday night, so do make a reservation!
Very delicious food! We took the Eggplant with floss, Lychee sweet and sour pork, Three cup beef and Seafood fried rice with silver fish. Highly recommend!
I saw this restaurant from tiktok so we give a try. The shop bit small but the design is beautiful. The food was nice but some of dishes bit small for 5 person. We all like most was the beef, crabs, vegetables, baby sotong, prawn and the noodles.
That day the crab only have two so we have can order one because other table order one already. We wanted to try chili crab too but all sold out already.
The pepper crab was big and teste was very yummy. Other food also nice
I think the shop slightly bigger will be better for more people or for family gathering.
The staff was so friendly also helpful and the boss too. Thanks for all the staff and the boss be take good care US 4 June. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Food is mediocre but pretty pricy - sweet and sour pork had this lyche bubbles that don't quite work, butter crab, tho fresh, was not flavourful. Ee fu noodles were meh. Fried mantou was good.
Cozy eatery with decent food and affordable zi char kind of price. The only thing is diners talk very loud and the whole place is very noisy. Love the seafood ee mee. The right amount of seasoning. Asparagus is very fragrant with the fried garlic. Salty sauce prawn also good. Not dry at all.
Really yummy food such as the truffle prawn. Sweet and savoury. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff. One thing to note is the sweet and sour sour pork with lychee’s standard has dropped from my previous visits. The pork has become smaller and more fatty. However, Definitely will come again.
Had a gathering with ex colleagues here. The place is a wee bit noisy due to the size but it’s totally fine. The food and service more than makes up for it! Outstanding food here. The lychee sweet & sour pork bursts in your mouth, the hor fan wok hei stands out. And instead of the usual three cup chicken, they have three cup beef! Goodness… I think you get the idea
Small lil restaurant that’s slightly always from the busy areas
Food is generally good
The lobster eefu noodles is quite nice but I think just go for the seafood version as the lobster wasn’t very fresh n doesn’t add much to the taste
The kam heong lala and the lychee pork both is good
Even the mushrooms w broccoli Aso nice
Recommend to come try. Not a tourist trap even at touristy area
Came here to celebrate our BFF birthday dina. Staffs are very friendly and give good recommendations. Will be back again.
Delicious food I highly recommend the lobster noodles and the prawns. The place is small and too bad I ordered water and they brought me tap water in a glass and when I asked for bottled water they said it’s not available - I still got charged for the water though
Very good service, delicious and affordable food! We had the special set A and everything was very nice! Will come back to try other food next time!
We have a time here for farewell party!
Cheap price but the tastes really good!!
I highly recommend if you wanna try Chinese food in Singapore
All dishes were nice!
4.5/5 overall.
The place is small, so need to book in advance. We were seated outside since the inside table are for larger group.
Had lunch at this place by the ex Peony Jade chef. Their 3 cup beef is extremely tender and the homemade tofu is good. The lobster xo eu fu noodles is also a must order here!
Will come back to try other dishes. Making reservations is really easy with the app!
Service was very good as well!
The food is nice and enough portion. I have ordered the soft shell crab, braised fish with eggplant and jellyfish salad. They all are delicious! The service is good as well. Will recommend to my friend to come.
Lychee sweet and sour pork is one of the better ones I've had. Good food. I'll come again with my family.
Service was good with a variety of dishes to choose from and prices are reasonable. Restaurant's ambience was cozy and suitable for hosting a family gathering or casual events celebration !
The food is good, as well as the timing that the food takes to arrive was excellent. The people here are friendly and welcoming too. For being a fairly new restaurant the standard was great. Would recommend people to come and try. As always do book before coming:)
Picture is after eating ;)
Visited this place for the first time with my foreigner friend for dinner, we didn't reserve a table but the lady boss was very kind to offer us a table. Had a wonderful white pepper crab 🦀 fresh and deliciously prepared. Ambience is great. Lady boss was attentive and offered us a free Yuzu honey drink for my friend. Will recommend my friends and family to visit this place again :)
The dishes ordered were absolutely good and worth our money. A thumbs-up to their staff as well; friendly and accommodating. Will patronise again.
Father's day was a compulsory set meal, which was average to good in quality, and filled us up, so we couldn't try what we wanted e.g. crabs. There was also a time limit of <1.5hours, though eventually it worked out because the party after us didn't arrive. But it was a stressful experience because we were basically gobbling up our food. And neither the set menu, nor the time limit on the sitting were made known to us at the time of the reservation.
All in all, we wouldn't repeat this experience. Maybe if we had come off peak...
Love the food served in the restaurant. Servings decent. Highly recommended for those looking for good Chinese food without burning a hole in the pocket
Smartly decorated restaurant tucked away in the corner. There’s another fortune garden down the lane. It was a quiet Monday lunch. We ordered lobster yee fu noodles and sautéed nai bai in garlic. Both are excellent. ! The lobsters was small but very fresh. Besides there’s a discount on Monday.. so pleased. !
The hard wall panels made conversation a bit challenging with so much reverberations. Coupled with an loud enthusiastic owner 🫢
Ordered 7 dishes for a group of 4. Every dish is fresh and exceptionally tasty. There was no 1 dish we find bad. Price is very decent too. Will be back again. So tasty we swept everything clean.
Forgot to take a pic of the other dishes but overall nice chinese restaurant for smaller group size. Another stir fry beef dish was also great, as well as the eggplant.
MUST VISIT FOR TOURISTS! 💯
Good chinese cuisine in a corner restaurant, located in the heart of Chinatown. Suggest to reserve before coming down! ✨👍🏻
Dishes to recommend: Lychee sweet & sour pork, 3 cups of Beef 🔥
First time visiting this restaurant. Both food and service are good. Waitresses were friendly and gave good recommendation.
Must try for 3 cup claypot beef! For crabs, do book 1 day in advance to avoid disappointment. Very service oriented, ladyboss ensured our needs are well taken care of :)
Exceptionally good chinese food and top notch service by the crew. Food also came very fast on a weekday afternoon. Would recommend this place to family and friends.
Food is awesome and price is also very reasonable. I also like the desert yam paste is good , highly recommended. Will come again to try other dish.
Their soon hock fish was the best I've had!
The food was amazing, really flavourful and well cooked, kudos to the chefs.
Prices are on the more expensive side but to be expected at this location and type of restraunt.
Service was not bad, the servers were just a little slow to provide seating.
Great place to have your reunion dinners.
Love the truffle beef! Must order!
Lobster ee fu was ok, lobster very fresh!
Overall the foods is good and all the servers were friendly, good and courteous. Keep it up! 👏👏👍
Excellent food and service, the prawns were absolutely divine
Located in the heart of Pagoda Street in Chinatown, the restaurant offers a wide variety of Cantonese food. Recommended to try is their hor fun noodles and stir fried beef.
Came here for family dinner. They have awesome food & amazing service!! Definitely will come back again! :)
Excellent Cantonese cuisine. Like the lobster eefu noodles and the lychee sweet and sour pork.
Delicious lobster noodles with nice wokhei. Deep fried softshell crab and mushrooms are crispy and tasty.
Cosy and warm atmosphere. Service crew was welcoming and very friendly. Food was appetising and delicious. Must try the soft shell crab and the signature prawn. Premise is on the smaller side, recommended to reserve in advance to avoid disappointment
First and foremost. That was delicious. Went with my family. Everyone enjoyed the food. Staff was very friendly to our children. And great value too. Will definitely come back again. Great find.
I have been here several times, and brought my friends here, and have recommended by friends. It occured to me that I never got round to writing a review for this Restuarant nor took photos 🤣
The chef here is par excellent. There is never a dish here that disappoints me. Their signature dish of :
1) Sweet and Sour Pork is superb, though some find it a tad sweet
2) 3 cups beef : is my personal favourite
3) Claypot eggplant is very tasty as well.
4) Seafood tofu claypot has loads of ingredients
5) seafood hor fun reminded me of HK-style beef Hor fun.
The servings are S,M,L. I totally enjoy eating at this restaurant as all the dishes have wok hei and are so well-executed !
Food is nice, price is ok and the staff are very friendly. Nice place also which we can enjoy night with the twinkling lights around
Had the Lobster Ee-fu noodles, but don’t find it nice to eat
Good food and friendly staff! My favourite is the Garlic Fried Chicken!!!
Fortune Court in Chinatown delivers authentic Chinese cuisine with finesse. The dishes are flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with fresh ingredients. The service is attentive, and the ambiance creates a delightful dining experience. A top choice for a memorable Chinese meal. My Chinese colleagues loves it. Celebrate their last day here.
Please sort out your online reservation system. The reservation form in Google doesn’t work. The group goes to the restaurant to realize that there is no booking even though we’ve got the confirmation AND the email confirmation. Your staff (who are quite nice actually) feels as helpless as us, but ultimately the group is stranded without a table. And sadly this is not the first time…
We came over for my dad’s birthday celebration. The staff was very welcoming and the food exceeded our expectations especially the 3 cups beef which was extremely tender. Their seafood ee fu mian and lychee pork were also good! Worth the visit!
I have to say... everything was so good!!! All dishes were cooked with the best quality and freshest ingredients. Even my godson (choosy on the food he eats) liked the Kings' Three Cup Beef and surprisingly ate a lot! Needless to say, this a great restaurant for the whole family. We will surely be back. The owners were so attentive and very friendly.
buy the lychee sweet n sour pork PLEASE it will change ur life
Be there for celebration with friends. The food was delicious and enough ,ordered the chilli crab, braised fish with eggplant , salt egg pork and others , The service is good as well. Will recommend to my friend to come.
A hidden gem in Chinatown, enjoyed our dinner here, the chef is ex Peony Jade and all the dishes above expectations.
Delicious food and wonderful service. Definitely recommend this restaurant!
The food is very nice, definitely recommend! 10/10
The best dishes are the signature prawn and braised egg plant which comes with fish slices and red bean dessert. Will bring family back again
Small Chinese restaurant, specialized in seafood, but with more interesting options as well.
It is advisable to reserve because it fills up.
It's not cheap.
Prices do not include service or VAT, which implies a 20% surcharge.
We ordered the broccoli with scallops which was very tasty.
Also very good is one of their star dishes, the chef signature prawns.
We also ordered the Kam Heong clams, which were very tasty too.
Final price, including 3 beers and 2 rice bowls, 96 euros for 2 people.
Delicious food, I recommend it. The price is not high if compared to the quality. Personal opinion, it's more delicious than the famous restaurants in Singapore. ^_^
Highly recommended👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
•Dry-fried horsetail fish, lychee old meat, lobster 🦞/Seafood noodles
•The food is great! It is also highly recommended (but it is a little salty). If you are concerned about this situation, you can remind the waiter who helps you order.
• The delivery time is quite fast, but it does not affect the quality of the dishes🤩🤩
• The proprietress and receptionist are very patient, and the store is short of manpower! But they still move very fast🥰
•Warm reminder: If there are more than 5 or more friends who want to dine, you must call to make a reservation on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or public holidays! Then hello, boss lady
Nice environment, diverse menu, affordable prices, suitable for takeout 88285332
