Came here for their chicken wings after rave reviews. On my first visit during lunchtime 6 months ago, the chicken wing at $1.10 per piece served piping hot. It was simply perfect. Crispy on the outside, juicy, soft and tender on the inside, and amazing flavours with oil oozing out of these wings. On my second visit during off peak hours, I'm surprised the wings still cost $1.10! While I asked for a new batch of wings, it was probably made about 5 minutes ago. It was still relatively hot. Even without the feeling of oozing oil, it was still quite crispy on the outside and juicy, soft, tender on the inside. Apart from the wings, their curry sauce is decent and packs a punch. Prices here are affordable and clearly stated too. Their rice and other dishes however are average as best. I wholeheartedly recommend the wings, but can't recommend everything else.

Really affordable caifan with a good selection of dishes, tasty too considering the price. Would definitely return to eat again. I assume the food is topped up regularly to maintain the freshness of the dishes which is much appreciated.

Simply cheap and good, especially their chicken wings. Delicious. This is one of the cheapest mixed vegetable rice I've eaten so far. 6 pax (each 3 dishes) for less than $17. That's less than $3 per pax.

Don't expect much of comfy as this is a very small shop. However the kind service from server with big smile, the food and the price outweighs everything. Started queue before the convenience mini mart (2 shopfront away) waited about 25 min to get into my turn. Chicken wings is a must! Crispy, juicy, yummy! Best way on the spot, though i packed home and consumed 30min later, still crispy on the drumlet end. At time it may sell out, just place order, they will call you once new batch is ready. Each chicken wing on its own or if you want to buy extra home to share with your love one, it's only $1.10 each! (not surprised, frequently people in front of you packed 10 and left you nothing. Give them deadly stared and Just wait lor. :p) They don't care if its fish or curry chicken or sweet & sour pork... they just consider as MEAT. Egg, luncheon meat are considered VEGGIE! Check out their pricing in other reviewers post of menu photo. For me 1 meat+3veggie is only $3.00 So enjoy the best mixed rice store in singapore! Cheap and good! By far the most affordable economical rice I have eaten so far in Hougang! With a standard and value for money meal base on how many dishes and whether you other vegetables or meat items. The old school chicken wings are a must-try, as the flavours bring you back to old times, for me, back into primary/secondary school days!

Heard of this very cheap and gd cai png stall in Hougang and thought i give it a try. This place is popular among construction workers and i can really see why. 2 meat 1 veg for 3 bucks ninama where to find sia… Not even school canteens can match that price these days. And mind u this is in the midst of the chicken ban from Msia. I came at 3plus in the afternoon and that kinda simi wako hours still got queue. The chicken wings is a must try. The batter is crispy and flavorful. I heard the braised pork is gd as well but have yet to try. Theres not many dining tables around here so if your coming during peak hrs i foresee unlikely u will be able to find a table. I suggest dabao and enjoy it in your car or something. There’s what a lot of the construction workers do. There’s plenty of parking lots here in the hdb area so if ur driving here it’s not an issue.

[7-Aug-2022] Chicken wings shiok! Price very reasonable for the food serve and environment. The restaurant serve 1 WHOLE chicken wing, as 1 chicken wing. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Unlike some other restaurants cheating customers by serving just a section of the wing and counted it as 1 wing. 🙄

Such a pleasant and affordable lunch! $7 for two of us - I ordered 5 dishes and my friend ordered 4 dishes. Amazingly worth it!! Food was very good, much above average for cai fan. The curry sauce on the rice was a plus!! Would definitely come back!

Most other places like this should be called mixed vegetable rice. This place is very affordable so it deserves to be called economical rice. The food is generally simple without a wide variety. But they do the simple things well and due to the perpetual queue, everything on the shelves is very fresh. The top seller is their chicken wing that costs $1.10. My simple meal of rice drizzled with curry sauce with 1 freshly fried chicken wing, 1 piece of luncheon meat and 1 serving of cabbage costs $2.50. Serving size is average and should be sufficient for an average eater. I guess one of the reasons why the food is so affordable is because they own the small shop that they occupy. I hope that the old HDB block doesn’t get SERS so that everyone in the vicinity has a more affordable meal option for many years to come.

This place is absolutely amazing. Price is exceptionally cheap great and wallet friendly. No way u can find in Singapore with the rasing cost. Great food and super friendly place to be in. Chicken wing great - if da bao can ask for a plastic bag so u can eat it without using ur hand. Great curry. Food for you to try. Buy like 3 meat and few veg for like only 4dollar. Amazing right !! The Q is super long.. like mrt line. Come early if u wanna try the food. But the Pretty aunties are super great in their work. Very fast clear the q. Only down side is they have limit seat as compare to their queue. Despite that still so long queue. Must have it own charm.

Their chicken wings are well marinated. Not as crispy as others but it stands out. Ngoh hiang has flavour but lacks the bite. Their curry chicken is akin to the Indian style -little or no coconut milk. Definitely a win on their economic pricing. Limited seating.

Love the fried chicken wings! It's a full wing, with the drumlet, midjoint and wing tip! And it's only a dollar each! Usually get 8 or 10 at one shot for the family. Economy rice is cheap, too, with a couple of selections, but not too sure about the combinations vs pricing, etc. All nice and yummy though!

Sunday breakfast crowd varies on timing. Value for money meal $3.50 for braised pork, veg, luncheon meat, chicken wing and rice. Chicken wing is good. Free Sunday parking too! 😊
