Reviews of Haig Road Putu Piring
First time getting myself a box of Brown Coconut Putu Puring at Nex Mall Food Junction. Very tasty and not so sweet 😍 Love it very much! ❤️
This is one of my favourite n best putu piring in sg. Its hard to find this kind of treats now adays
Best putu piring ever! The best and definitely family’s favourite
Had it at jewel changi basement food courts. It’s a stall in the corner. (There’s no google review page for jewel changi branch)
The service isn’t great. The guys were a bit blur blur and there was a long wait even to place order. Don’t know why the guys were ignoring people standing in the line. Or maybe they are too busy.
The food was made to order so it was fresh. The prices aren’t cheap $4.00 for gula melaka sugar only and $4.50 for sugar with coconut filling, $4.70 for other flavors like chocolate, peanut etc.
they also had an option - 2 flavors mixed box of 4 (2 pieces of each flavor) for $6. I think it’s a weird premium pricing. I mean if you charge $5 for 4 of 2 each mixed flavor, it’s already $0.30 extra for the “trouble” , right? But to charge over $1.30 for the “trouble” of making different flavors (which you have to do anyway if you got orders per box), it’s a bit over charging.
The putu piring tastes good fresh and hot. The coconut gratings were too salty but it complemented the sweet kueh. This was Soft, fluffy and sweet. A nice dessert. I think the basic gula melaka one was the best for me.
Would I eat it again? I don’t mind, if I’m in jewel. But I won’t travel purposely for it, surely.
The best putu piring ever tasted 🤩👍
The queue moved pretty quickly, and it was our turn within 10 minutes. The putu piring, albeit thin, was delicious. For $2.50, you now get four pieces. It still draws a line of locals and tourists for its delicacies.
Best Putu Piring ever! Came all the way form Johor just for Haig Road Putu Piring 😍😋
Putu piring at its best. The steamed rice flour is so soft, light and fluffy that it is best eaten with a spoon. The filling at this outlet at Haig Road Market and Food Centre is only gula melaka which is my favourite, and there is a generous amount of freshly grated coconut that is so bagus.
Good customer service. Courteous. Yummy as always. Highly recommended 🫰🫰🫰🫰🫰❤️❤️❤️
The best putu piring in town. Best service as well. Come down to makan.
Bought the new peanut favour from the Nex outlet. Nicely packed and tasted so yummy 👍👍👍👍👍
Tried the putu piring and it’s really good and have always been coming back love it!
Bought putu piring from here many times. Good quality!
Putu Piring Gula Melaka! Cannot go wrong here! Just whack!
Nice n friendly staff!!! Great food!!! Must try !!!
Everytime I come here, I will patronise this stall as their putu piring is always the best! Highly recommended! Must have if u ever visit nex foodcourt.
Not to be missed if around Haig Road. Made fresh and with love.
Netflix highlights this Malay delicacy in its Street Food series. There's a Caucasian tourist in front who bought 15 packages. It's not about taste but the effect of the influencer.
idk why there are people that rated the putu piring here as 4 stars like I had such an out of body experience eating the gula melaka ones for the first time that I damn near cried. The way the gula melaka oozed with every bite. It was that good. I can’t wait to come back again.
Love the putu piring. Been purchase it over and over again.
The main stall at Geylang Serai was closed for cleaning so we went across the road to this.
Unfortunately, the putu piring was pre-packed in a box and kept heated. As a result, the items became mushy and dried out too, and all clumped together. Not the best we have had from them. They also only had the gula melaka version.
Payment and getting change is via the machine, which is more hygenic.
Very fluffy and doesn't feel dry. The gula Melaka not too sweet, just nice. Leave a good fragrant aftertaste too. They more generous with the gula Melaka and this is better than the one at marine parade central. Yum.
I guess you can't go wrong when it's a specialist store, sell only 1 thing putu piring. Even at 9pm, business is good, 4 people working non stop.
Always delicious Putur Piring..Friendly Staffs
It's very tasty and loved the flavours. Very authentic
HAIG ROAD PUTU PIRING IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD.
I COULDN'T GET THIS ANYWHERE ELSE.
ESPECIALLY THE SERVICE BY THE CREW MEMBERS.
VERY FAST AND FRIENDLY.
CHEEES......😄😄😄
The putu piring is very nice
Easily the best Putu Piring in Singapore!! Tried Putu Piring at many places, from Clementi to Punggol, at pasar malams etc and even Malacca. This is the best. The size is perfect for after meal indulgence. Can’t think of any other better ways to enjoy gula Melaka hot than this freshly made putu Piring!
Fresh grated savoury coconut cool to the touch paired with piping hot and fluffy Putu Piring with lava-like gula and fragrance pieces of pandan! Shiok!
At $2.50 for 5 this is an unbeatable price! Thank you!
Nex outlet very convenient to get the famous Putu Piring. We love such a great desert!
Great food and service @tampines century square haig road putu prining
Very nice, buy many times
Went to Putu Piring @ Century Square. Nice food and friendly staff
This chain of stalls was featured in the Singapore episode of the Netflix show "Street Food." It is very delicious and only costs $2.50 for 5 cakes. There are other flavors as well. Expect to wait because they are served fresh.
Always my go to for putu piring. Amazing taste and texture. 👍🏼👍🏼
Freshly made putu piring at $3 for 5 pieces. They have other varieties such as durian too.
The padang smell permeate when you are near the stall and is a lovely smell.
This the the famous putu piring and is located at the Haig Road food centre.
You can order 5 pieces for $2.50 either having to dine there or takeaway. It comes with the putu piring, of course, with white coconut meat shavings and is readily available. I was there in the daylight hours of the Muslim fasting month and as such, there wasn't a queue.
The putu piring tends to stick together. There were pandan leaves but noticeably missing was the coconut leafs that would separate each putu piring. It is a good thing that they provided a plastic spoon and that helps.
very quickly and smoothly prepared. very fast service 👍🏽
Northpoint City - Gula Melaka nice and have many choices
Our go to dessert. Always on point. 👍
Addictive, cant stop eating it!!!
Delicious! Love it and pipping hot, I wolfed down the whole box myself within minutes.
The seller are kind its taste very good too!!
As featured in Netflix's Street Food series - this is possibly the only place left where you can find traditional Putu Pireng - essentially small flour cakes filled with deliciously brown sugar (gula melaka), served with fragrant pandan leaves and desiccated coconut.
Been the best Putu Piring islandwide! Keep coming back for more!😍
Great putu piring. Taste is superb
The original putu piring is good BUT the durian and coconut variations are much better!
Always hot and sedap. Not so sweet, just nice!
Nice putu piring, authentic and a family favourite!
Love the putu piring here!!Worth the price
They taste amazing! Great service and staff
Came here after watching the Netflix documentary like most people.
The taste is definitely worth the hype and this is definitely a must-visit place for anyone with a sweet tooth.
They seem to have a few other outlets in nearby food centres with less crowds and the price perhaps a little cheaper. But I cannot say if the experience there would be the same.
Good staff, delcious food, no wonder popular
Delicious authentic putu piring!!
Very nice snack any time of the day!!
Kakak there is very friendly, the kueh tutu is nice
Update on 10 June 2023.
Price gone up post-covid to 4 pcs for $3.50. Over-rated and rather expensive. Flour is too soft, and filling is too little.. definitely not worth paying $3.50 for 4 pcs of miserable putu piring !
The best putu piring I had . Just like the once I used to eat in Melaka growing up . Pls keep up the good work and don't stop selling them . Thank you for making them
Always love their putu piring!
Very nice. Original taste.
Very good! Love it since I was young
Been buying this many times! Love this so much!
One of the most nicest traditional Malay delicacies. Of course there are many other shops selling the same thing, however, no words can truly describe the specialty of this particular one...unless you have tried it yourself.
So head down and don't spare any expenses. Pamper yourself and stuff your mouth full of those Putus. Decide for yourself if what I've said is true.
Rice flour is blend. I think Netflix set me up for a disappointment. Otherwise this dessert is still worth a 4-star. Luckily, we came on a weekday and didn't have to queue, else it would be a 2-star. I am sounding confusing sorry.
Very nice putu piring!
Prices are quite stiff for snacks like Putu Piring but you can't find these snacks easily nowadays.
Love it, this Malay-style Putu more similar to Indo-style, flavourful with grated coconuts and fragrant gula melaka.
SUPERRRB!!
After seeing this delight on Netflix we just had to try it while in Singapore. We weren't disappointed. Such a delicious treat.
Putu Piring will always be one of my favored comfort foods, thank you for making this accessible and most delicious!
Repeat orders, very nice.
This restaurant was featured on NetFlix's Market Food program.
2.5SGD for 5 pieces. There are traces of price increases, but it's still affordable.
It's spongy and has brown sugar inside.
There's a little salty coconut flour around it.
Take a break from chopsticks.
Moderate sweetness that suits Japanese sensibilities.
I think it tastes better when eaten while it's warm.
Let's call it "makan".
It means eating on the spot at a Malay food stall.
Their gula melaka tutu kuay is the best!
Top cool hawkers, easy and friendly encounters, a wide choice and a relaxed atmosphere. Then the street is yours including the small Indian temple
Best Putu Pirang in Singapore.
Gula Melaka is not very fragrant and tastes ordinary. It's okay to try.
The place to try putu piring. I didn't find any in the city center.
The place is away from the historic center. You have to take public transport.
The people are very nice. There are several choices of putu piring. The price is low.
The center is rather dirty and the toilets are in a deplorable state unfortunately.
It's not in a tourist area, but in a market for locals.
It's mildly sweet, refreshing, and easy to eat. The gula melaka inside had a nostalgic taste and was delicious.
Nice plate plate with extra filing
My fav go to Putu Piring shop. Taste very yummy!
My mum always love their putu piring, has been around for very long and has really nice kueh. Worth a try!
Solid service! Izzdyhar was amazing! Pleasant
