Reviews of Hoodadak Korean Restaurant 후다닥 한국 음식점
Food that we ordered were delicious! We had beef rib ginseng soup - this was extremely refreshing and comforting. ginseng was not overpowering and balanced just right. We also had stir fry pork belly with squid - the seasoning was on point and it came with 2 types of squid. I only wish they didn’t use the thin pork belly slices but the thick pork belly instead to give it more oomph and texture. we ordered a gimbap to go and honestly this was just very normal, i felt like it had too much rice and their other menu items are way better. i look forward to visiting again so I can try more dishes!
This korean restaurant is located in fusionopolis with the nearest MRT being one north. We came on a weekday, and the place filled up pretty quickly.
The staff were not as friendly and were quick to get you to a seat that is rather cramped with other customers. They were also slow to give you menus etc. But once you order, all the food came pretty quickly.
We ordered galbitang and this was delicious. Definitely something that is nice for a cold and rainy day. We also ordered a pork dish, bulbaek, which comes with lettuce, rice and soup. Both dishes were really good. Don’t think we could order more because the tables were rather small and there was just not enough space for dishes. The banchan was also good; fish cake, potato, seaweed and kimchi. We also managed to get it refilled once. Water was also free flow.
We enjoyed the meal. Service and atmosphere could be better.
The pork trotter is great as it’s well marinated and a serving portion.
The amount of fats and lean meats are equally parted.
It has absorbed the flavors, soft and shiny. The reddish as the side dish is well marinated and good to add in the flavours for the dish. It will be good for serving more amount of lettuce.
The army stew is great portioning with lots of sausages, tofu and luncheon meat available.
Long waiting time during the lunch peak hour.
Very good food with decent service. The mall is relatively empty on weekends, however, this restaurant is crowded. We managed to get the 2nd last table of 5 when we entered at 1245pm.
The taste of the food is consistent to what I had in Korea. The flavour of my Jajangmyeon is complex, unlike dull food court style noodles which are just sweet or salty. The texture of the noodles is lovely as well - soft and silky to slurp, yet mildly chewy to fill the mouth with flavour.
Fried chicken was piping hot, crispy outside, tender inside, packs a good crunch! Accompanying sauces go very well with the fried chicken.
Pricing is reasonable - expected of a restaurant - since everything is expensive these days.
With this level of authencity, looking forward to revisit to try other representative dishes like Kimbap, and Tteokbokki.
Second time here, sadly the Sundae was sold out, but had a great meal nonetheless.
Highly recommend their gukbap (daeji/sundae), the broth is really light, but still savoury at the same time.
Kimchi pancake was nice, I like that it was more chewy rather than crispy (personal preference), though not a fan of how it was cut into pizza-like shapes haha.
The Samgyeopsal set came with pork belly sliced pretty thin. Would prefer the thick cut though, so wasn’t my favourite.
Overall, this place is usually bustling with people and is not short of Korean customers who I clearly heard approved that the food taste was really authentic and couldn’t believe there was actual Korean Sundae in Singapore too. Love the food here, will definitely be back again.
Visited Hoodadak unexpectedly while in the area and was thoroughly impressed by their excellent service. During my meal, I accidentally spilled very hot tea, and the staff immediately jumped in to help. They provided burn cream, a cold compress, and replaced my drink promptly. Food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend for both its excellent service and tasty food. Will definitely be back with my family!
It give me home cooked vibes especially the Daeeji Gukbab. They serve standard banchan and able to refill up to 2 times. Generous ingredients in Yukgaejang. Very comforting.
My favourite dine out Korean restaurant in Singapore. My office is nearby and I regularly come by for dwaeji gookbab, Soondae gookbab, bibimbab, and Squid stir fried pork (ojingeo jaeyook), which is so authentic and I always become so nostalgic of my hometown, Seoul. Side dishes (banchan) are also on point and the service is also great. I always recommend this restaurant to all my local and Korean friends😍
Ordered Jjajangmyeon and gyeranmari for eat-in, gimbap and kimchi jeon for takeout.
I was there for lunch alone, portion is huge! Portions would be just right if what I ordered was shared among 2 (at least for me). Was first surprised with a huge plate of 4 banchan, relatively large bowl of Jjajangmyeon and shocked when the gyeranmari arrived. I had to trouble the lady boss to pack the gyeranmari for takeaway without even touching it yet.
Korean lady boss was really nice, she was even concerned how I would be able to carry the food that I ordered for takeaway. Packed them nicely for me as well. I only noticed I was also given a pack of 4 banchan for my takeaway after I got home.
For the gimbap, it was tasty but I was just expecting seasoned spinach instead of cucumbers in it. As for the kimchi jeon, it was a little soft for my liking (not sure if it was because it was a takeout order)
All in all quite an alright experience. Price is still worthwhile considering the quality of the food and the portion size.
This restaurant is located in Galaxis on the first floor. Route to get here is accessible, just take the lift up to L1 after exiting one-north station, exit the glass door on the left and go straight. (if it rains.. not advisable to cross. This route is not properly sheltered, not sure if there is any other routes)
The waitress of this restaurant does not seem to understand when I mentioned I am unable to cross over to the right side of the restaurant (due to the extremely narrow space), probably also inexperienced in serving wheelchair users. Thus, minus a star for this portion.
Quite a nice Korean restaurant. Pretty authentic but pricing is a little ex.
Kimchi ramen tasted like any instant noodles but Jjampong had home-made flavour. It is a seafood broth with noodles made by the restaurant.
this restaurant serves authentic and splendid korean food! one portion of sundae gukbab was very generous with so much meat and other contents. i also really enjoyed the banchans (side dishes) which tasted really good and were all refillable. it’s usually very crowded here during lunch hours!
Good to come here! Need to come earlier if during lunch time. Food is tasty and side dishes are refillable. They also provide iced water, and due to covid nicely packs the cutlery. Boneless chicken was good as well.
I visited Hoodadak for many years and like the good quality Korean food served in this restaurant.
Over the years, I have seen their customers increasing but we still managed to get a table without waiting during my recent visit with my family.
We ordered our favourites dishes: hangover soup, rabbokki, kimbab and tangsuyuk. They maintained the good standards of the food. The banchan was also nice and they changed the spread to give some variety to this appetiser.
Nice korean restaurant located near to one north mrt station.
One of few restaurant survived and stand strong during covid time.
Full house during weekday dinner time. Walk in still possible.
Ginseng chicken soup with rice worth trying. The amazing part is chicken bones are soften so u may just chew it together wih meat and consume together.
Bbq pork belly also very nice.
Price wise at higher end but come with quality food.
We went on Saturday lunch and there was a small queue formed outside the restaurant but it went quickly.
Ordered the Chicken Noodle soup, Teokbokki + Gimbap combo and Beef Bulgogi Stew set (not pictured). The restaurant provided different banchans which were nice. i loved the wakame seaweed and fish cake.
The chicken soup had boneless chicken breast in it and was really flavorful. The chicken was tender and even without the rice it was a filling meal. The Teokbokki had just a few pieces of rice cakes and more cabbage in it so I would probably skip ordering it next time, although the sauce was great.
My favorite was the Beef Bulgogi Stew which had a sweet broth and thick pieces of beef strips. It was really tasty and complimented the spiciness of the Teokbokki and kimchi!
Real authentic and comforting Korean cuisine - prices are lil steep, but the portion sizes and flavours more than make up for it. Much of the patrons being Koreans speaks volumes about the quality of food served.
probably my favourite korean restaurant in SG. really the best bean paste stew i’ve ever tasted, service is really good and it’s advisable to call and made a reservation before heading down
side dishes are free flow and they are always very willing to top up more side dishes for u
on the slightly pricier side but it’s worth paying more for good quality food
managed to grab a seat at this place which is usually very popular among the office crowd! food came in really huge portions and the seafood pancakes were delicious :) army stew and japchae with rice were ok but slightly overpriced
went to galaxis In Fusionopolis to charge my EV on 21.1.2023.^^
S$1.08 per entry on weekend
charging cost S$0.594/kWh twice home charging…
had dinner @ hoodadak
banchang among the best-egg, seaweed, tofu & kimchi..one refill we didn’t take any
sotong & pork gochujang mediocre
kimchi chigae poor ..I can do better anything..long way from aburiya..
Not a place I will return to
Had the Hangover soup. The taste was pretty robust. The soup was surprisingly nutty(not too sure but I think they topped it with perilla seed powder), extremely generous serving size and portion, more so than your typical Korean restaurant.
The banchan was disappointing though the beansprouts had a lack of flavour. The eggplant and the potatoes were over cooked and rather mushy(not even sure if that’s an actual Korean side dish). Kimchi was a bit too fermented for my liking(but that’s of course up to personal preference).
Cheese Ttokbokki ($18)
This is the best ttokbokki i ever eat! The ttokbokki is sooo soft and the sauce is seeping in so we can taste ttokbokki with the ttokbokki sauce on every bite! It's not the usual ttokbokki with sauce on the outside and tasteless in the inside. And the cheese is sooo good! It's torched over and it's the best because it enhance the taste much much more!
Pork Belly Set ($18)
The pork belly is juicy and chewy! It's so savory it's actually good enough without the ssamjang! It's a bit too chewy for me though, I love it to be softer but my friend love it so much.
Nice place with quick, efficient service. I liked that the staff offered us more of the side dishes without us asking.
My kimchi stew was also nicely balanced. Could be more spicy but that's a personal preference.
Nice gem in One North. The Korean dishes are reasonably priced and delicious. Fried chicken wing with the spicy soya sauce is great!
My 4th time here. Loving the authentic korean food here. The staff is friendly n prompt in serving our family. Will definitely go there again.
역시 맛집이다! #돼지국밥 #순대국밥 해장으로 최고 👍 A great way to cure your hangover or satisfy your authentic korean soup needs. Their pork meat / sundae soup rice is a MUST try!! pricing is reasonable for the quality...
It's good that because it's not localized. Sometimes I go with my Singapore colleagues and they are very satisfied. The Gukbap here is the best.
quite a legit Korean spot that had tasty and enjoyable food! Loved the fish cake side dish and the army stew was savoury. Downside would be rice cake was very soft and gimbap was cold but definitely think if you’re a fan of Korean food this spot is worth a try!
A diverse menu. We tried #1 chicken something and it’s really good. As typical K resto they offer side dishes which are of good quality. Also open over the weekend including Sunday when most restaurants in the area are closed
Excellent Korean foods here, super flavorful Kimchi and tasty soup, meats. Grateful to get to know this restaurant.
I had the chicken ramyun on a cold rainy day, it warmed my cold empty stomach. The complimentary side dishes were good too.
Great value of food, fast service and yummy meal! A must-visit Korean restaurant in one north
Today was the first time I tried hoodadak on takeaway. Food was as delicious as shown. I ordered the bossam and japchaebap, japchaebap was a little awkward as it was more of a carbo-loading meal (given the amount of carbohydrates)
The hangover pork soup is good one day and different another. Army and kimchi stew was diluted and lacking in meat
Not sure if it was because we ordered the wrong stuff.
Beef bulogi stew - tasted exactly like japanese sukiyaki and way too sweet
Donkaesu - tasted like tonkatsu and again too sweet. Looked nothing like the tiny picture on the menu. It was ok but definitely wouldn't recommend it. I'm sure there are a lot of better dishes on the menu.
Cheese ramyeon - it was not bad but basically expensive instant noodles with mozzarella cheese.
Service wise - the waitress who took our order couldn't really speak English and gave us a blank stare when we asked for recommendations. It's fine if the staff can't really speak English but at least please list the ingredients and recommended items so customers can make an informed choice.
The side dishes could only be refilled once but it was not highlighted by the server. Didn't see it stated on the menu either.
All in all, it was ok but not worth the high reviews.
Nice food and service.
I have been here multiple times, and they nevet let me down.
Hearty and savory sundae gukbap as well as 떡볶이. Portion is big and filling. Will definitely come again to try other dishes
Super tasty korena food. Chicken lunch set was a bit spicy and umami, very delicious. Pork belly wrapped with lettuce was good. Overall delicious Korean food. Gets super crowded during lunch on weekdays
Had a good meal there. Sorry didn't manage to capture when the food came. But its a sign that its good right? 😁
Price is reasonable for the portion and quality. Will visit again if we're nearby.
Add on review after visiting a 2nd time. Food still as good. The steamed egg slightly dry, maybe the hot pot too hot. The rest is yummy!
One of the authentic tasting Korean restaurants hidden in one-north mrt, great for Korean food cravings. Returning Customer here
One of the better places for authentic Korean food in Singapore. The popular bibimbap and seafood tofu soup was really good. Loved that they provided 4 complimentary side dishes and seaweed soup. Will be back to try the rest of the menu!
My favourite dish is the squid rice bowl. It is so so good! 😋
Value for money. Portion is really generous. Too greedy and over ordered. Delicious food. Army stew, steamed egg, fried chicken, cheese rice cake, black suace noodles. The cutlery is not disposable plastics. Is metal ones come in sealed in plastic bag. Air con slightly stuffy but is ok. Make reservations during peak time.
Delicious korean food! Taste and portion was huge and delicious totally recommended. Furthermore side dishes is free 🤭 took lots of kimichi😁 especially their kimichi rice, kimibap, fried chicken was delicious love it! Army stew was great but a little salty. Price was a bit pricey each pax est 25++ but it was worth it full and satisfied! We will come again for team gathering! Keep up the good taste of korean food!
(Update) Recently went back for dinner the food and quality has dropped 🙁 portion was also reduce especially kimbap roll it was so disappointing everything inside was so slim cut in the ingredient it wasn't the same the 1st time I had. Soup and rice was soso nw.. so dissapointed.
Authentic korean restaurant in Singapore! Their food are delicious and they serve refillable side dishes just like in Korea. Only thing is the cost but otherwise if you love authentic Korean food, you should visit. Worth the price.
Food is very very good. However, I think the restaurant has to reflect on their table reservation system and the efficiency of the workers. All the tables are reserved, what about the people who queue? Plus, most of the time they never pick up the call for reservation or they will reject the reservation request. Ridiculous
Probably one of the best Korean food around. Grilled pork collar, seafood pancake are really good. Probably some improvement needed for the sides like peanuts and ikan bilis. Will definitely come again!
Visited a number of times, love everything I tried. Decent portion size, a bit ex though. Banchan portions are not miserly. Nice comforting stews during rainy days.
My go-to Korean in the area. Usually I get 보쌈(boiled pork) and 김치찌개(kimchi soup) which are both tasty and comes with side dishes. Seolleongtang wasn’t to my liking, but overall a good korean restaurant. They do takeaway and delivery on foodpanda so you can enjoy korean during circuit breaker.
Excellent service, authentic food at a reasonable price. The place is just outside the MRT station and hence easy to access.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the service is fast too.
The fried chicken is a must try!
Authentic Korean food. Price reasonable. Good choices of food. I will reccommend if you are looking for Korean cuisine. Ambience is quiet. I like the service & environment. Well done!
Minus one star for the lower than average taste Kimbap. The lunch set meal was good. And their side dishes were delicious
Forgot to take photo. Took pork bone soup. It was much better than I expected and quite authentic style. Love to go back and get photo next time.
Foods are all tasty after the owner has changed.
You can experience very similar taste as Korea with 'relatively' reasonable price.
Very decent Korean food with sizable portion. The price is value for money in my opinion
Authentic Korean food! Food taste the same as the food in Korea.. This is definitely a place where you should go when you're craving for some Korean food! Highly recommended!
how to make a reservation other than by call ?
In the point of Korean, meal is very decent and with a lot of care. If you have a plan to visit Korea later, you can try this restaurant to face Korean food culture in advance
Amazing authentic Korean food. The staff are very nice and were very attentive despite us coming at close to closing hours.
Kimchi was really really nice
Waiting time was fast, food and portion reasonable good. Service can improve
Good taste side dish. same taste eat in Korea. So good!!
one of the best Korean restaurants in SG
with affordable prices
Great food!
Visited more than 5 times
- 8/9 Independence Day commemorative lunch
- Budae stew is not good.
This is a famous sundae soup restaurant.
Sundae soup also contains a lot of pork.
There is a 10% discount for Koreans.
The best sundae soup restaurant in Singapore. Although it is not on the menu, blood sausage soup is also available. They also give Koreans a 10% discount when paying. There is a wait during lunch and dinner on weekdays, so avoid meal times and break times.
I really, really enjoyed it. Thank you. The sundae soup was delicious and the soft tofu stew was also very delicious. And, I didn't expect it. I really enjoyed the tteokbokki and kimbap, and the best highlight here was the kkakdugi. I can't forget this kkakdugi.
Wow, so delicious! I came here from the east even though the taxi fare was $50 round trip! It was a choice without regrets! Stir-fried pork, Jeonmattaeng pork soup, Busan flavor! It’s delicious!!
The price is also very cheap!
The cleanliness of the separately packaged cutlery set and the sundae soup here are second to none in Singapore. Plus the radish radish radish kimchi.
It maintains the same taste as it is prepared directly! It’s the best!
Koreans go there to eat Sundae Gukbap, and Singaporeans who don't know much about gukbap go there to eat something else.
This is one of the really good Korean restaurants in Singapore!
In particular, I feel that the sundae gukbap is better than most gukbap restaurants in Korea. The side dishes are delicious, and they also give you salted squid... It's a good place to get rid of homesickness🥹
