Reviews of Hoong Cheng Seafood 鸿承海鲜馆
All the dishes were tasty.
My favourite was Salt and Pepper Fried Sotong which tasted fresh and not too salty.
Chicken with black soy bean and green pepper had wok hei.
Atmosphere was good but there was smoker at one of the tables so there was a bit of cigarette smell even though we were seated a few tables away.
Update: came back to eat again! Cause it was so nice and I really wanted to try other dishes, really love this zhichar Lezzgo!
Old post: Came here for a meal with family and I must say the zhichar dishes are a little different from the usual. Their signature fried rice was delectable at the same time appealing to the eyes with a crunch to it as they add bean sprouts, long beans and some other crunch inside and I must say it’s refreshing, white stuff on top are egg whites.
Egg looks normal but honestly tastes not bad.
Lala soup was great. Great price as well.
Thai spiced sotong was a great dish, very different from the usual. Would definitely order again.
Broccoli with scallops was tasty but nothing out of the ordinary.
Seafood wrap with salted egg yolk is a seasonal dish and I loved it. It was deep fried but not greasy, had a light seasoned batter taste to it. Very delicious.
Jing du Pork ribs was tender but not to my liking. An able dish but I personally would not order again.
Overall for a zhichar it does the job, with many new and innovative dishes.
5 stars definitely.
Very Tze chat place. All the djshes have good standard. Salted egg mushroom was particularly yummy. The fried garlic and pork rib was worth trying. Beehoon was good too. Should not miss the classic coffee pork rib and Hong Shao rou.
Super delicious new Tze Char stall! Hotel standard. Every dish is so yummy! Amazed with the beautiful plating too! Must order their Malacca Style Red Grouper!
Love the white bee hoon! Absolutely spot on with the wok hei and generous heap of fresh pork lard!!
It comes in seafood version, but I requested for pork only.
Dishes are above average to very good, at reasonable price and staff quite friendly. The rice and noodle dishes have nice work hey. Especially recommend the seafood white bee Hoon, on par with famous restaurant. Hotplate tofu can be improved, taste is abit one dimension (mainly salty). Salted egg pork might be a little too fried.
Sheng mee is average but potion is big.
$96.60 for 4 persons with 4 dishes & fish maw soup.
Decided to try this place after seeing the reviews. The staff are friendly and patient with orders. Noticed there was a constant stream of customers at this stall as we were eating. Food came pretty quickly despite the crowd. Price was pretty reasonable, $5 for a small ee mee that was quite generous. Pork was fresh and noodles cooked al dente. Also didnt regret ordering the lala in herbal soup at $13 which was a change from the usual stirfry or sambal version. The broth was flavourful and has decent amount of lala. Will be back to try the other dishes for sure!
HDB kopitiam can find this taste/ food quality/ price is really good. Recommended and if you’re looking for good food but “restaurant” standard in term of taste or deco… here is for u… (lucky I stay nearby and I can have it whenever need to host a family/friends gathering)
But… the downside is… if you’re going late in the weekend (bout after 6pm, the waiting will be super long)
Super crowded and almost full house on a weekend night. Waited around 40 mins for dishes to be served. In general, their dishes are nice. Fish soup was quite salty. Tofu and French bean were good. Severely lacking of manpower. Service was not the best.
Nice curry fish head
Nice BBQ pork ribs
Highly recommend Hoong cheng seafood restaurant !!! They serve delicious tze char , prices are affordable too !! MUST TRYY👍
Super delicious!!!
Every dish is so yummy!
