Reviews of Jalan Kayu The Prata Cafe'
Decided despite the name of the cafe to go for the dosa , and a pumpkin vegetable. It’s one floor up from kopitiam at one north Mrt so quite convenient. Nothing to complain about , dosa was alright and plentiful at $5.70 but a little bland, pumpkin veg probably standout dish $2, as it was fairly interesting. Lovely lady served me and it was nice to have a cheery face for a change at fuisonopolis. May come back and try the acclaimed muttabak as to my embarrassment have not tried one yet.
Have been to this newly opened prata (trademark prata house from the famous Jalan Kayu) for a handful of times during breakfast period.
The prata along with Teh or Kopi Tarik have been a blessing to fulfil your breakfast needs without sacrificing the texture and taste.
The other cuisine offered at this eatry is also deliciously prepared and valued for money.
I had kuthu prata which is average, however this one's cheap compared to other restaurants here in Symbiosis tower in Fusionopolis, you can see the people lined up outside for lunch decent food with decent taste
I had a fish biryani and plain prata, I have to say it was delicious and some of the best I've tasted. I'll be back again very soon. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. I also want to add that service is fast.
One of the best and most value-for-money Indian rice set in Singapore. The sauces were mind-blowing: flavourful, distinctive, complex yet gentle and non-offensive to the palette. I am short of words to describe them. I paid a 2nd visit and tried their briyani rice; very well cooked, flavourful yet harmonious with the sauces.
They always ran out of mutton curry in the evening!!! It is still on my checklist.
This hidden gem lies at the very corner of B1 in Fusionopolis. The two gentlemen taking care of the whole cafe were very cheerful, even though they were always busy. Eating in the cafe was indeed a pleasant experience.
Their North Indian meal is delightful but not at par with other Indian restaurants that I've eaten. You'll be better off with eating dosa here. Remember to take Mango Lassi instead of Coke in the meal.
Located strategically above One North Station, the restaurant caters to a captive Indian clientele working in the technopolis area. Fair variety of items on the largely South Indianmenu, catered mealwise. Tasty preparation in general, portions sizeable. More attention to cleanliness of own premises, disposal or proper stowing away of food and stores necessary as they are an eyesore compared to surroundings, pantry curtains need renewal and it's cleanliness improved. Wash space deserves upgrading.
Delicious South Indian restaurant which also serves a pan Indian food. The South Indian thali also called meals is simply superb. Wish the dishes could be served in reusable utensils instead of plastic cups.
i really love their food which i usually order from grabfood and they are always tasty. have tried masala dosa, ghee masala dosa, onion rava masala and their masala tea. their dips are great as well! my go-to when i have no idea what to eat.
Prata breakfast set for $5.20.
Has variety of set meals which is good. Its a bit expensive considering the quality. I would recommend chole bathura here.
I would give it a give if I was able to choose my two vegetables.
Nice.. loved the food.. authentic Indian food... taste is also more than manageable...
The banana prata was a tasty alternative to my usual breakfast.
Onion Rava Dosa - luckily the extremely loud obnoxious music helps to keep me away and watch my weight
