Reviews of JEJU SANGHOE
Came here for lunch and dinner on separate occasions. Food is authentic Jeju cuisine and is delicious.
Lunch set is very worthwhile for less than $20 for a huge main dish and free flow sides. The food is very clean tasting but is absolutely delicious.
Would highly recommend the boiled pork and the abalone dishes.
Food is great. The portions are big, so it’s good if you come in at least a group of 4. You know the ingredients are very fresh as the seasoning is minimal yet the dishes are flavourful. Good for families with young children. I wish the service staff are a little more “aware” though. I have asked to refill ban-chan a couple of times while he’s placing the dishes but it felt like he didn’t register that I was making a request. Otherwise the entire experience was great.
JEJU SANGHOE offers a delightful taste of authentic Korean cuisine, especially their Jeju-style dishes. The flavors are bold and satisfying, making every bite a memorable experience. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere add to the overall dining experience.
If you're a fan of Korean food, this place is a must-try!
Is that a 6-star option? Amazing food, amazing service, amazing portion! Nothing to complain about because everything is perfect.
We were very lucky - didn’t make a booking and I was hovering outside thinking of where to go and voila - someone cancelled their reservation and the guy welcomed me in! Service was superbly attentive thruout as well!
They gave v good recommendations - told us the hallasan pork will be too much for us, so we got the pork bone noodles and abalone porridge which…. Every portion felt like it was for two pax! Amazingly value for money!
The Banchan was also v diff from the rest of the Korean restaurants - there’s japchae, quail eggs and some other unique dishes. More importantly, it’s free refill!
I really enjoyed the pork bone noodles. The broth tasted like it was boiled for hours, and the noodles are very special. Qq springy and nicely al dente cooked. Their boiled meat slices were amazing, especially with the kimchi and there’s SO MANY SLICES! We added the pork ribs which were tender and huge too!
I enjoyed the abalone porridge a lot. I felt like I was brought back to Busan fish port! The abalone was generous and the porridge was well cooked!
Nothing to complain about and it deserves the highest accolades. Even the decor, music choice were great match for the venue.
Will book early in future for their private rooms. Look really good and definitely need to come in bigger groups!
-updated 2 Sept 24-
Wish came true and came for the halla mountain of pork ribs! Super tender and the soup is refillable! The portion was good for 3-4 pax easily! The abalone rice was very delicious too. Service was amazing and they even gave us a private room!
Will definitely return again and again and again!
The Abalone porridge is a MUST TRYYY!! Very Flavourful! The abalone stone rice & BBQ pork belly were very tasty as well. Will be back to try more!! Thumbs up for the service and jazz music behind. Ambience is just right for a chat with friends.
Friendly and warm service. Nice food that's not overly seasoned, a different take from other Korean food places. We enjoyed our meals.
A should-try if you’re around the area! This place is p authentic, the first thing that caught my attention was hearing conversations in Korean haha. The banchan served was pretty special, and were to my liking 💯. We didn’t get the BBQ but the mains were v yummy! We had the pork noodle soup and abalone porridge, the porridge was v flavourful and the texture was just as I liked it - the right balance between soupy and pasty hahaha. Very generous w serving size. It can get quite rowdy though, so if you prefer a quiet dining experience, this might not be for you.
The waiters are polite - was held up by traffic but was greeted warmly nevertheless.
Food is fresh and tasty in general, from banchan to mains. The gogi-guksu REALLY stood out. Like, if I were a pig and I died for this, no hard feelings. There is this subtle complexity in the broth that goes down really well.
Had a wonderful dinner at Jeju Sanghoe. It happened that tonight was not crowded. The place was clean and the staff are friendly and cheerful.
We only ordered the Spicy Hallasan. The ribs literally fall off the bones. They’re tasty and flavourful. We like the Banchan and had two extra servings.
Will return to try other dishes.
Was looking for Korean Abalone Porridge to satisfy my craving. Checked!
Authentic and abalone slices are soft.
Makgeolli cocktail came with the Jeju man statue, so adorable 😄
A very authentic and cozy Jeju cuisine restaurant with warm and friendly staffs ! There Jeju Gogi-Guksu is awesome ! And their side dishes are as great as the main dish ~ Their Makgolli cocktail is a sweet refreshing surprise too ! Will definitely come back ~ Thumbs up ! Their kimchi is one of the best too :))
Very very delicious food and great service. Extremely loved the abalone porridge (highlight of the night) and black pork seaweed soup. The bbq pork was great too! The banchan was generous as well and kimchi was super fresh. I will definitely come back again to try the other menu.
Super delcious!!! The bibim guksu was super tasty! Loved the side dishes, meat and the fish cake soup was also yummy!!
Jeju abalone porridge taste good but would be better with less sesame oil
Awesome place for dinner, had the best time. Wide range of sides, and the yummiest pork
Soup and kimchi I’ve had in a long time. We had the pork belly as well which brought me right back to Jeju. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be coming back again with my family :)
Food doesn’t have anything special. Other Korean restaurants have better tasting food. Even their Banchan lacks flavour. The Pork soup (lunch only) has strong pork flavour, used the chilli and pepper to mask the flavour. Abalone rice has not much taste too. Seafood ramen lacks flavour and a little too spicy. Seafood pancake is gooey, not crispy.
If you miss Jeju cuisine, this is the place to go! Pork Soup Noodles is a must if you like ramen!!
I missed the abalone porridge i had in Seoul. I never find an equivalent close enough in Singapore. Visited Jeju Sanghoe. It's abalone porridge come close to the memories of this dish from South Korea even though it helms from Jeju and not Seoul. There were only 2 of us so we can't order a lot. Unfortunately, the noodles soup only has 2 pax portion for dinner so I couldn't order this signature dish to try. The boiled pork looks plain but it tasted very tasty after wrapping in veg, the sauces and side dishes. I had an enjoyable meal there.
Omg the food was so good?? Truly exceeded my expectations and tastes even better than the food I tried in Jeju, Japan. 😂😂
We got the Hallasan pork soup (non spicy), the broth was so rich and yummy, the pork was soft and delicious and there were lots of veges and mushrooms in the soup too! Portion is big for 2pax, had to takeaway some of it.
The staff/owner were very friendly and helpful as well. Really enjoyable dinner, can't wait to be back to try their other dishes.
first time having jeju food and the first thing that stood out to me was how different the banchan was! very used to the usual kimchi, seasoned spinach, potatoes, etc and don’t think i’ve had quail eggs and tuna corn thingy before! was sooo yummy and each banchan dish was really really good 😜 for the mains, we had the abalone porridge and the pork soup with seaweed - highly highly recommend them, especially the porridge! first timing having it and thoroughly enjoyed it! would definitely return to try the gukbap ~
Honestly surprised this place only has 60+ reviews because it deserves way more!!! Great service and even greater food. The side dishes alone are enough to fill you up – sooo tasty and generous portions too. I had the abalone porridge and black pork kimchi stew – both were delicious, but the abalone porridge was especially good. Was already making plans to return as I was leaving the place LOL highly recommend for an authentic Jeju dining experience! 💯
Abalone porridge was really tasty and we really recommend it! The side dishes are also yummy.
Excellent pork, be it the guksu or the bbq belly. One of the best kfood in sg, bar isn’t high to be fair, but this one would do well even in Jeju. Boss gave very good service and you can tell he’s running a tight ship with service crew. There’s heart in the food, much better than any of those influencers hyped Korean restaurants. Very reasonably priced.
jeju gogi guksu ($17):
this was the korean version of a mid tonkotsu ramen 😃😳 yes we really said what we said 😔🙏 but the broth defo went thru hours of boiling since it was rich and actl pretty hearty 😋🤝 the portion was REALLY BIG too… we’re positive the bowl is bigger than our faces ‼️ yet we devoured like the beasts we are 😈👹 this bowl was also topped with pork and HEAPS of spring onions (like dont need money liddat) 😌👍✨ the noodles were not memorable, and overall we don’t think that this should be ordered alone 🥴🙈
6.5/10
hallasan braised pork spare ribs ($79):
WOW. if you can’t tell already the portion was GENEROUS 😀‼️‼️ there were at least 20 pork ribs bigger than the plate that they gave us and it was truly a struggle eating it w the short chopsticks they gave 😩✋ a happy problem indeed 🤓☝️but not only was the meat super flavourful and tender, the soup was sooo fragrant and thick as it kept boiling with tons of vegetables and fungus as well as the heap of garlic they added which left our breaths nasty 😍🙏 this is a must-order there 🤤🫶
8.5/10
black pork belly bbq ($26):
we really got robbed here for 6 sad slices of oily pork w lettuce 😔✋ since it was so fatty it really had a considerable amt of flavour but $26??? ridiculous… 😩🙏 a miss fs
5/10
banchan:
the variety they delivered was quite quirky and not what you normally see 😝😝 especially the fermented fish, quail eggs and japchae 🤯‼️ the tuna mayo was the best out of everything and hannah thinks that the fermented fish should remain fermenting… forever 😀🤝 it was nasty since it was cold 😭😭
5.5/10
A pretty large portion for a solo diner. Generous with the selection of side dishes. I loved how the Banchan complemented the soup and meat. Helpful staff.
Would return with friends next time to try the other items.
Visited with colleagues during lunch. We had Dombae Pork and Noodles individually. Side dishes were prepared and served kindly. I would like to try their other dishes at night with a bottle of Soju next time.
FYI. Jeju Style Noodle (Jeju Gogi Kooksu) is slightly different (or very) from typical Korean soup noodle you can have in Seoul. It is served with thick soup and many pork slice toppings.
had the kimchi pork stew, braised pork to wrap with vege, jeju milky broth pork noodles. all very tasty, great ingredients. reccommended. hallasan maekgolli was good as well.
if big groups get rowdy, very echoey. otherwise - very nicely spaced out tables. aircon works well. very attentive staff.
Super great Korean food! It's very similar to what I've had on Jeju Island. I enjoyed two plates of black pork belly, a gogi-guksu, and a modal-chigi. Black pork belly and gogi-guksu are signature dishes of Jeju, a must-try when visiting. This restaurant captures the authentic taste perfectly, and we all, being Korean, thoroughly enjoyed it.
The atmosphere was calm, nice, and clean. While I understand the aim for luxury, I think the music playlist could be more bright and lively.
The Kimchi they serve is incredibly fresh, seemingly imported from Korea, which I loved! I even considered buying some from them. We refilled our plates twice. Thanks for your generosity. I will definitely revisit and strongly recommend it.
Excellent Jeju food here and love the noodle soup which was flavourful and not too heavy. Portion was really generous and service was top notch!
Amazing food and great service. They have many original menu that you cannot find in other Korean restaurants in Singapore. I'll definetly go back!
Had these 2; although the food is priced slightly on the higher side, but fwah, you can really taste the quality with each mouthful. These 2 is enough to share for 2 PAX:
전복죽
27. JEJU STYLE ABAONE PORRIDGE.
제주 몸국
3. JEJU MOUM-GUK
(JEJU STYLE SEAWEED PORK SOUP WITH RICE)
The broth is so good. Not overwhelming but comforting. I wish the noodles soup served hotter. Overall really love it including the banchan.
I loved the food at this place! It was a unique but nice taste of korean food. First-time goers have to try the seaweed soup and the boiled pork pieces which was very well done even though it had fats that added to the taste! Would recommend to people wanting to try something new. 5/5 visited 2 times
If you ever need an introduction to Jeju or missed Jeju, you need to come here.
The food brings you to Jeju!
Now imagine Korean ahjuma cooking for you with her love, that’s what you will feel when tasting every dish.
So don’t wait anymore. Come with your family and friends.
I just had the most satisfying meal with both my sons licking their fingers from fried chicken.
went on a weekday afternoon. ambience was great, food was amazing, but the service takes the cake :) tried the pork noodles - the meat was surprisingly tender and the soup was so naturally flavourful! will be back to try the tonkatsu.
Nice and authentic Korean cuisine.
Something different from the usual Korean restaurants in Singapore. Love the banchan, abalone porridge and the gogi guksu! Service was great too 😄
They really put efforts for the sides. Nice bbq black pork.
Newly opened Jeju style Korean delicacy in Tanjong Pagar. It is a great addition to the other Korean cuisine around this area.
We ordered braised pork rib, and pork broth noodle for the four of us. The amount served is extremely generous.
Taste is as authentic as you can get and there is absolutely no gamey pork smell from the ribs. I believe they are using the high quality Jeju black pork and the ribs are very well cooked and marinated.
Highly recommended if you want a an alternative from grilled meat for Korean food.
Food was great, service was impeccable. It’s a bit pricey but worth it. The abalone porridge is a must have. Was hoping there’s more bbq dishes.
Just came back from jeju and found this place similar and very good
Delicious meal with a fantastic ambience - we made a reservation for 3 pax and were actually given a private room.
My personal favourite was the soup version - it tasted very homely and comforting.
Bibim Guksu was very flavourful too - best for sharing because I don’t think I’ll be able to finish the whole bowl on my own.
Serving size is also generous - two of us shared two noodles and couldn’t quite finish the Bibim Guksu.
Also note that some dishes such as Bibim Guksu are only available during lunch.
Highly recommended!!! Nice food
Love the refillable side dishes. Pork noodle soup is worth trying and seems to contain no MSG. Service is great and environment is chill and peaceful.
Visited here 3times winthin two weeks.
Authentic Jeju cuisine. Service is sincere and the food is well prepared.
First time there, enjoyed our meal especially the pork ribs !
Will definitely be back to try the other dishes !
There is no staff at the counter when I step in the shop
Good food and friendly staff
The side dishes are free refill and they taste good roo
Really good food and generous portions. Highly recommend!
Big portion, yummy food, friendly staff
Delicious Jeju food and the environment is very nice. Highly recommended.
Amazing food and value. Definitely a place to patronize!
Simply say Goooooooood!!!!!
Beautiful place. Delicious foods..good staff
Very unique and great food and service!
Chanced upon this restaurant while heading for an appt and was pleasantly surprised. Ambience was great. Food was delicious and generous. And special highlight was the banchans. I took tell every dish was made meticulously with fresh ingredients. Highly recommended.
The real food is so clean and delicious!
The dombe meat is boiled just right while being firm and soft, and has just the right amount of lean meat and fat, so it's really delicious when dipped in ssamjang.
The soup of the Dombe noodles is really delicious. It has a deep flavor and is clean and savory without being greasy! The combination of dombe noodles and black pork duruchigi is good to share with white soup and spicy meat rice.
The atmosphere is good and the location is good. I don't think it's widely known yet, but I'll definitely go back next time I have a meeting. They also have lunch specials, so it’s recommended for lunch or dinner parties!
The food is very delicious and the staff are friendly.
I think this is the best choice to introduce Korea.
I can feel the taste of Jeju Island in Singapore. The meat noodles are really delicious.
The bibim noodles were the most delicious I’ve ever had!!👍 I was able to heal myself thanks to you in Singapore~~ It’s a place I wish existed not only in Singapore but also in any other country☺️
It's really delicious. It tastes like high-quality Jeju noodles. I really like the bibim served with warm broth.
The quantity is large and the taste is reasonable.
The meat noodles are delicious and the staff are friendly.
fantastic food
great service
It was a place that reminded me of Jeju Island.
We ordered abalone porridge, pork noodle soup and Moum-guk. Everything is super delicious. Flavours bursting in every mouthful. My kids enjoyed the food too. Would love to visit again to try other dishes.
