Reviews of Kampong Chicken Eating House
Chicken breast was really tender, they gave us another part of the chicken but it was filled with skin and fats that we didn’t particularly enjoyed. The rice has a strong ginger smell, chili was not too bad. The sambal sweet potato leaves were great as well.
Our Club's go-to place for overseas visitors but standard of food seems to have declined.. other chicken rice places in Bishan n Geylang much tastier..
Came here after being recommended by taxi driver and it was outstanding, we loved everything, definitely try if you are around the area
Chicken is so super yummy; nicely chilled with fat and a umami-filled sauce. Rice is fluffy and separated/non clumpy. Soup is milky and full of collagen. Uncle was very friendly and made conversation with us.
Solid chicken rice! The kampong chicken has a nice meaty texture while not being too tough, while the rice was super fragrant (5 stars for the rice!). The sambal kang kong we ordered tasted good at first but it got really greasy towards the end and the lotus soup tasted a bit watery. Overall still a great meal!
$6.60 is quite affordable for chicken rice! I love the chicken and rice so much!
I came here after watching angel Hsu youtuber video about chicken rice, she recommended this stall, and it is also safe from ecoli.
Food is good but twice we came we saw cockroach. Need to improve their hygiene.
Paid $35 for one chicken ($26), chicken feet and e packets of rice and takeaway. Pretty good but I guess the downside is that it's a bit pricey.
The best chicken rice I have ever tried in Singapore. The Thai fish slice is amazing as well( they added different vegetabkes and fruits to create flavor)!
If you are not a fan of red meat kind of chicken meat, it may not be suitable. The overall chicken meat is also colder in temperature. Nevertheless, overall still taste good;
Excellent chicken and good local atmosphere. Highly recommend for this kind of restaurant.
Just excellent. Very different from my preferred Boon Tong Kee, or even Tian Tian, though I'm a convert now. Still not a big fan of kampung chicken, but if I must go for one, this will be it.
Decent Chicken Rice, Roasted Chicken not available on day I was there. They sell other stirfry dishes too.
Visited the restaurant for lunch and was greeted by a huge crowd of tourist brought by “typical tour guide”. No one came forward to usher in to be seated and ask for orders. Ordered their famous Chicken rice and Fried shrimp egg. Chicken was mediocre, as for the shrimp egg didn’t have much shrimps and tasted salty.
The chicken and rice was amazing. So was the condiments. Had the soup and stir fry sweet potato stem which was okay.
I went to buy a packet of chicken leg and ask for ginger but the lady staff do not give me. I will not go to this shop anymore.
Nice chicken rice at a good price. Definitely worth a try
Very good chicken rice, Not oily, and delicious. The soup was also very nice.
one of the best free range chicken in singapore.
Decent and tasty chicken rice. Worth trying if you are in the area and want some chicken rice.
Most of the chicken rice is meaty and taste like soya source but for this kampong chicken, the texture is Q and not overlay salty. Definitely recommended.
The 清炒小白菜 is NO MSG! One of the best vege and the serving portion is big!
The lotus park rip soup is fantastic too! NO MSG as well!
Being to this place 4 a number of times in the past since years ago.
Still keeping the standard of the chicken n the chilli!!
My guests love the cold crabs n the Kampong chicken. So i m happy!!
The crabs for 45/each is reasonable.
A good place to meet n catch up over a nice local meal.
This place has a similar name to the restaurant in Thompson Rd. The menu is pretty similar as well. The chicken is reasonable as was the seasoned tofu and beansprouts. The word here is reasonable, not excellent. For truly excellent and authentic, the is no substitute for the restaurant in Thompson Rd on my opinion. 1/2 chicken, 2 bowls of rice, seasoned tofu and bean sprouts was $28.
If you like succulent chicken meat, go for this kampong chicken eating house. 1 person chicken rice is $4.70. Do not expect it to be meaty because kampong chicken generally has less meat but taste very sweet. The meat taste more muscular than free range chicken. The veggies taste so so..
They didn't have the fried chicken when I went there but the service was fast and the normal chicken rice was really good. Ordered Half a kampong chicken + rice with 2 other friends and we were still a bit hungry after the meal. Should order more if y'all are hungry
Just order the chicken. Everything else is ok ok. But rice and chicken are great. I love the jelly between the skin of the chicken and the meat.
Good chicken rice, kampong chicken style. Steamed pork was a bit too salty
Affordable, fast serving and good quality, recommended for quick lunch.
The chicken is definitely very good, tender and not dry, the side dishes are also very good and my favourite is always the beansprouts, and the service is very very good as a "boss" lookalike gentleman helped me with my bulk purchase carried them to my roadside parked car, so kind of him, thank him very much!
Ordered Whole Chicken at 26 dollars, with Sambal Potato Leaves at 8 dollars. More than enough for 5 of us. Chicken soup was awesome, not oily and fragrant.
We stopped in here as it was just a few feet away from our hotel and wanted a quick late night meal. Food was good and service was quick. Seems to be a cash only place - didn't see anyone paying with cards or a card machine at checkout.
$4.70 for a one-person set meal that comes with half an egg, plenty of soft chicken meat, flavourful rice, and cabbage soup that has been boiled to cloudiness. Other zhi char dishes also available.
Ordered the chicken rice set and it was glorious. Didn’t have a chance to take photos cause the chicken was that bloody good.
Fantastic value, good variety of dishes besides the great kampong chicken.
quite nice and price is OK. Just a little far from public transport
Food is wonderful, but the service is very bad. Restaurant engaged Vietnamese who are not friendly.
Nice kampong chicken. Not oily, tender chicken.
Was wandering around the area and felt really hungry when I saw this place. Had the chicken and it was really great. Fast service and nice people.
Food is nice.. soup was so so can be improved. Nice rice!
Chicken rice is as good as it gets. Rest of the dishes are very yummy too
The chicken rice is exceptionally fragrant and not overly oily
It is very tasty and I really love the chicken
Great kampong chicken. Rice was very fragrant and chicken was not fatty.
Good tasting chicken rice for a meal with family
Sorry but I not a kampong chicken lover. Not same as previously
Nice chicken rice. More costly then the average common chicken rice.
Super awesome dinning place for family and friends.
Definitely value for money!
Nice chicken, but rice can be better.
Very nice and fragrant chicken.
Lovely broiled chicken and chicken rice.
Very nice chicken rice
Nice taste chicken rice
Good food
Nice chicken rice
The chicken is really great, the meat is very elastic, the chicken rice is also quite fragrant, and the fried water spinach is very delicious😋 (there are fried chili peppers, but overall it is not too spicy) and other dishes are a bit ordinary~
The chicken is still relatively tender, the accompanying soup is a bit salty, and the chicken oil rice tastes average.
Kampong pheasant is indeed thinner than Tiantian Hainanese chicken, but it still has the taste and texture. The stewed soup and sweet potato leaves are also good.
The yellow-skinned kampung chicken and chicken rice are both delicious!
Authentic free-range chicken! Recommended by Cantonese people!
Authentic kampung chicken! tasty
The chicken is firm and tasty, not a big broiler and tastes good. The price is also affordable
Cheap and delicious
The chicken is delicious. The side dishes are also good
Very delicious! !
good
