Sashimi Moriawise(assorted sashimi) is fresh with thick cuts. Beef Teriyaki set meal is delicious and the yakitori is nicely grilled. Staff is very friendly, polite and offers wet towels when we finished our meal. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here. Recommended👍

Sashimi is fresh and served in a generous portion. The braised fish head and brinjal with capsicums are good too. Buffet offers wide selection from sashimi, sushi, noodle/rice, tempura, appetiser, etc. Easy order via QR code and the service is fast.

Good and fresh food. Good varieties of choice. Portion is small which is good as we were having the buffet, so we can taste it before ordering more. Service is excellent. The chinese waitress (Joanne...hope I got it right) who serves us is very friendly and accomodating. Another waitress (MiMi) who served us, is also very attentive and polite. Overall, a great dining experience. Thank you.

Update: i apologise, have checked with my father that we did receive the bag. I dont know why i had no recollection of it 🤦‍♀️ —- On 28 june 2024, my father and i went to herr at 11.40. Later, it turn out my colleagues also came at 12.30. We didnt see each other but i saw their ig story. But they end up having free bag?! My meal even costed more, bc we ordered sashimi moriawase to share. Its not like i need the bag, but i hate restaurants which dont treat all customers equally. There needs to be more transparency on how they decide who to give perks to.

Highlight of this place was the sashimi, which was thick and fatty. Overall, I was disappointed with the lack of diversity in the menu. Very few standout items in the sashimi, maki and overall sushi sections. Same goes for the grilled food, and other snacks. For a Japanese buffet, I want to eat as much good food as possible. Service was alright, though the waiter could’ve been more proactive in clearing out the dishes.

Large cuts of fish for the sashimi and sushi. Just look at the ratio of fish to rice. It's generous and delicious. Quality of sashimi is even better than much pricier buffets. Staff was very friendly and service was quick even when it got busy. We were offered to try the fish head, on the house. Didn't know what it was but it was tender and flavourful. Very delicious. Turned out it was a yellowtail head. Never had it before but I liked it. This place is a gem. Glad I found it. Will come back repeatedly!! Ps. Shop is small and might have to take the tables outside. I didn't like that at first but don't worry. The staff are very attentive and you will be taken care of.

Visited on 14 May Sat for buffet dinner. Remember to make your reservations in advance because it was full house! The varieties are definitely smaller as compared to other competitors but my partner and i really enjoyed it! :) Sashimi was super fresh and thick. Really enjoyed the meikajiki and tako. Most of the cooked food was very delectable as well. Our favs are the yakitori stick and tonkatsu. Service staff were all very friendly and prompt. Will definitely be back again for more! Had a very pleasant time at the restaurant. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious. For such authentic and nice Japanese food, I think the price is quite reasonable (we spent $140 for 3 adults and 1 toddler who ate very little). The owner was very kind that he even offered my little picky eater a steamed egg cup (on the house). Will definitely come back here again when craving for quality Japanese food.

The oysters are really great 1 for 7,3 for 20 Ramen set with gyoza were appetising too. Green tea was heart warming . orange slices were just the perfect combination of sweet and sour.

Ordered Cold Udon Set, Salmon Bowl and Chawamushi. Food was really good for the price. Sushi and salmon were fresh and slices were thick. Cold Udon was chewy and the dipping sauce was not too salty. Chawamushi was alright. You can sign up for their membership programme for 3% cashback. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We came at 9:40 and still allowed us to order despite last order being 9:45. There's Free parking coupon as well. They also have very cute take away bag. :D Left the place feeling happy. Will be back again.

It turned out to be a great second time over dinner with my family. Our first time was lunch with my family. Our favourite dish has to be the sashimi platter. I particularly like the octopus slices for how fresh and juicy they tasted. The chef recommended us to try the torched salmon which literally melted in our mouth!

Stumbled upon this quaint Japanese restaurant by accident. Fresh and thick cut sashimi was delicious. Their buffet offers a range of maki, temaki, nigiri sushi, soba & udon, Goran and other grilled and fried dishes. Food was generally good. The price of the buffet seems to have gone up a few bucks compared to 7-12months ago but still worth a try.

One of our group members picked this place and made reservations. Wasn't expecting much. But it turned out to be a lovely surprise. The buffet service was separated into two blocks of 2 hours. The sashimi was very good. Very fresh. If you are a sashimi lover, it would have single handedly made your day. Food in general was quite delicious. Choices may be a little on the lower side. Service was prompt and friendly with many complimentary dishes served. Portions were generous. Very casual environment and we had a good time catching up with one another over the meal. Cost was about $60 per pax so I would say it's fair. Complimentary parking tickets were provided but somehow it did not work for me. Parking is cheap and plenty.

This is a Japanese ala carte buffet. The sashimi is very fresh and best of all, they are very generous with their portions. Some restaurants will slow down the service to discourage repeat orders for sashimi but not this one. Their handrolls, and sushi are also very good. We also tried their kaarage chicken, agadashi toufu, and chawanmushi. On the whole, their food quality is pretty good. Service is also prompt and the ambience is not bad. And if you drive, there is also complimentary parking.

First time here after many years of walking past this place. Have to say....it is my current top 3 favorite sushi/sashimi buffet joint for me. As compared to others, the sashimi is thick with big cuts and only a slight hint of the thawing moisture. Good value for money and quality. $50++

My first time here and we chose the lunch buffet. The sashimi was very fresh, and a la carte buffet dishes were served very promptly. There was a good variety to choose from - many of the dishes are just one portion though (one piece of sushi, one piece of agedashi tofu etc). So just check with server about portion size before you place the correct number of servings. Repeat orders were very quickly served too. Definitely happy to come back.

I went for buffet at Kumo Japanese Dining. What steal the show for my dining experience was the fresh sashimi, and I love the variety choices for tempura. The nigiri sushi selection tastes great. Many other selections were good too, and I guessed for me, I have learnt to eat what I like and I love it when Kumo Japanese Dining surpassed my expectations on my favourite selections, i.e.sashimi, and tempura. I generally find it hard to find good sushi that meet my expectation, yet the Nigiri sushi selection exceeds my expectations! The wild yam side-dish was a refreshing choice. I like the croquette too. Nice potato taste and texture. The staff have been hospitable. Good choice for Japanese buffet if you love sashimi or tempura!

A tad disappointed as the variety of sashimi was quite limited (no maguro and tai) and the mekajiki was still not fully defrosted. The buffet was good - just that you have to realise one order is for one pax unless stated otherwise. We had one slice of saba for the six of us. Had to make another order.

Chef/Owner Daniel provides with good food, good service that is serve to you at a cozy environment. Small cozy shop, dining there made me feel like I am dining in the stand up eateries in Japan. Of course this place has chairs. Definitely worth the visit. Do bear in mind good food require waiting time because your food is prepared by your one and only chef/owner Daniel. So do you love Japanese food? Do visit this place.

This is my fav Japanese restaurant in SG!! We come here for the buffet. It’s very worth it considering the quality of the sashimi, variety in the menu, efficiency of the staff, and the overall price. No complaints at all. Would recommend!

A hidden gem in the heart of Redhill. Kumo is located at Alexandra central just beside Ikea. Kumo has a great vibe the moment you enter. Very authentic and nice friend staff. The sashimi is thick and they serve yellow tail, tuna, tako. For this price and the quality of food you are getting. There isn’t any other better place. I will highly recommend to eat here! Do make reservations before heading down as they may be full.

** update: the owner personally called to explain the situation, on how they are one chef down, and after checking the CCTVs, they did have bottlenecks at the tempura station. I appreciate that they try and followed up on the customers' feedback and attempt to treat their customers right. The food was generally fantastic, but the service is terribly slow. It takes a long time for the buffet items to arrive, which dampens the whole experience. Total cost about $60 per person. It took 30 mins from sending the order to getting ONE piece of tempura fried.

Lovely hole in a wall restaurant serving quality food at a great price! Seating capacity is limited, so you may want to call ahead to reserve a seat. Ordered salmon and tuna donburi and they tasted so fresh and delicious! It's value for money given the sashimi was served in thick juicy chunks. The chef was really amicable, personally serving the dishes and soliciting for feedback. The place is a tad small (somewhat like eateries in Japan) but I would surely go back for the quality food and commendable service!

For a Japanese buffet, I must say that they have got many of the things ironed out pretty well. If there's one, it's really the value for money paid. Quality of the food served is also quite high, considering the price point that we paid. From the sashimi platter to the grilled chicken mid wings, to the jumbo sushi rolls, I thoroughly enjoyed myself that evening dinnering with friends! I especially enjoyed the sashimi. Any fish they had were all extremely fresh. The boss was not stingy with portions at all. We ended up ordering so much sashimi that we probably fed the entire village, no joke.

Although the area inside this dining establishments is small the food they serve is very good from the spicy wasabi the fresh shashimis and noodles i personally liked the croutons that were very crispy and it beats other croutons that i have tried and tasted and over at this restaurant the croutons are very very crunchy and served hot regarding the waiters. The waiters are very kind and generous but the food took a slightly long time to arrive at my table therefore making it a 4/5 instead of 5/5

Pleasantly surprised by the large cuts of sashimi. Had the finger pressed sushi platter, charashi don. Both were 5 stars. Natto had a nice home made feel, different from commercial ones. The service is also SUPERB, lady kept refilling my hot tea and the owner/head chef saw me fumbling with the orange slice so he auto gave me wet serviettes. The serving time is a little longer. Updated: I had the ala carte buffet ($39.80++) during my second visit. The sashimi is quality and fresh. The chef and service crew are really attentive, polite and sincere. Value for money. Reservation is recommended to avoid disappointment.

After being introduced by a friend, I tried it for the first time. They have two menus, 1) a la carte buffet 2) a la carte. We chose the preferred a la carte buffet... The food is very fresh and delicious, especially the sashimi. If you are a sashimi lover, I believe their food will not disappoint you...! ! Of course cooked food, grilled/fried food are also delicious...! ! The service in the restaurant is also very good and the food is served quickly. The service attitude of Joyce and MiMi is very good. Will come back if I have the chance!

The staff will always come to refill the tea to confirm whether the food is enough and whether it suits my appetite. One of my favorite dishes is the special roll (not sure if it's the name, my friend ordered it) which is not on the menu, it's the hand roll in the photo. There is no rice in the hand rolls, but they are still delicious. It is great for those who want to lose weight and cannot eat too much starch. I ate two rolls! Will visit again and recommend to everyone:)
