Reviews of La Pizzaiola @ Kalidasa
Italian place amongst semi detached houses. It's pretty nice, I liked the mushroom soup and creme brulee the most. Was told pizza is the best, but tbh I think it's alright.
Our family’s favorite pizza place! We’ve been loyal customers for years and the pizzas are top notch. Also try their other mains - we love the porchetta, so crispy and juicy 😍
bacon & truffle pasta from special menu was good, steak was ok. parma ham pizza was so-so, tomato base was a bit light, and tiramisu also normal. Staff are very friendly.
Went there on a Sunday evening about 6pm, and it was quite empty but crowd built up at around 7pm. Suggest to reserve a seat on weekends for dinner. The service was good and food was decent. The lamb shank special was good and very tender. Strongly recommend to try it out.
Cosy corner, great service and awesome food. Porcetta was the bomb recommend anyone that comes here to try it!
Great ambience, great food! Everything was done perfectly, great texture, not too sweet or too salty. The perfect fettuccine alla carbonara i was looking for. Thin pizza was perfectly soft yet manage to hold all ingredients in place and not hard, this is the first time we love thin pizza.
A cozy Italian restaurant that serves really good pizza and pasta. Visited on a Friday night and the restaurant was filled at 7pm. Strongly recommend making a reservation before coming.
While the restaurant was pretty packed, food was served promptly by the extremely attentive staff.
The food was not over the top but was delicious with fresh ingredients being used. Definitely recommend ordering the Focaccia Aglio Burro e Mozzarella, the freshly baked focaccia bread was served piping hot, fluffy in texture with crispy crust and cheesy mozzarella.
Each dish would roughly cost between $20-$35 which although isn't cheap is pretty reasonable for food of such quality.
Great place to also chill out with their nice selection of wines.
Interesting find in such an ulu place. The food and desert served are really nice and exquisite. Pumpkin and Mushroom soup are tasty. Service is great too. Nice cozy ambient for chatting with old friends. I brought my whole family here and had a good time. Just the parking by road side tough bec of the slope (but free ;p). Abit expensive though, taste is unique and flavourful. Enjoy our time there... Recommended!!!
Very friendly service and clean environment. Good italian pizza at good prices. The other dishes like pasta and antipasti were a bit overpriced and tasting average.
The mussels has broken shells pieces, the ink pasta was not memorable and the prawn felt like frozen kind. Didn't try dessert. Would come back but only for pizza.
Authentic & so delicious!!
Had roasted pork (this was so damned flavourful), seafood pizza (felt this was ok but hub said it was exactly the same as the ones we had in Italy), squid ink pasta was also very tasty & done well and choc melting cake was also surprisingly good! (I say surprising cos most restaurants buy it readymade & just heat it up but theirs seems to be baked in-house from scratch - I may be wrong lol idk but it was yumms)
The staff are super attentive, friendly and detailed with food recommendations.
Definitely worth travelling here, will come again for sure! 😋🤤🤤🤤
The food was tasty. Service level was mixed, depends on which team member. One know exactly who's having which order, the other simply plonk the food in the middle of the table and we had to serve ourselves? He didn't even bother to ask who's having which so it was a moment of "coffeeshop" feeling. And the corkage policy is not clear. I heard the team said they have informed the HR to update it but HR has NOT DONE IT YET, and he has to explain and customers have to ask why. Come on, HR or whoever is in-charge of updating the BYO policy, just get it done already.
Love everything here, pizza was good and service great too. Recommend to make reservations.
Food was rly good, tasted like homecooked Italian food. Portions are just nice. Loved the seafood pasta
We had noticed this restaurant tucked in an unlikely location, and decided to give it a try although we enjoy quite a few Italian restaurants around Singapore. But the experience was pretty good. We came on a Friday evening, late enough to not need a reservation. The osso buco lamb shank got our family's vote, while the pizza was perfectly baked. We appreciate the option to select "hybrid" pizzas, with both halves prepared with different toppings, for a very modest extra charge. The Carbonara pasta was very convincing. And the family obligation to end with a shared Tiramisu was at par with the rest of the meal. We also appreciated the comparatively cheap bill for the evening. Difficult to be disappointed at La Pizzaiola, although parking your car around the neighborhood was a bit tedious.
Very lucky to get to try their special vongole.
Its very flavourful and rich. Pizza is amazing. Will definitely come again.
Amazing food, great service and super friendly staff. Been coming back for years with family and friends alike. I always recommend the gnocchi al Gorgonzola or the linguine carbonara for anyone who isn’t sure what to get. Nicely priced wines too, always a pleasure to dine here
Burrata salad is best . Pizza is always good
Quint and cozy setting.
Food and service were both top notch. The lamb shank's meat was very tender, the pizzas were delicious. The service was really good. They were very attentive and would come to your table if they spot you have any issues or difficulties.
Only issue is the location. It is in a private estate area which will be a bit difficult for people to take public transport and walk in.
Great food, nice ambience, we came without a booking and they are very accommodating to us. We had the parma pizza, truffle pasta and lasagna which all are very2 delicious. Highly recommended. Parking is a pain but fortunately we came on Sunday where roadside parking allowed.
They are good in thin crust pizza.
They serve homemade pasta, very good texture, love the pasta that cooked to al dente.
Love the Crème Brûlée, the glass like sugar caramel gave the perfect blend with the soft egg custard. 😍❤️
Excellent food, service and ambience. I'd recommend this place and will definitely come back in the future. Prices are affordable and not exorbitant for the quality.
Overall I gave an average is because the price is on a steep side. Food is ok, but subject to individual if you feel if its worth to pay for...Happy pizza n pasta..cheers
Just had slow cooked lamb shoulder, so tender and juicy, taste enhanced by the red wine sauce.
Pasta and pizza are delicious. My favorite is the squid ink pasta.
Pretty decent Italian restaurant. Love the service crews there with the fantastic service they offer. Pizza was ok, loved the crust. The price is a little high though.
Very nice Italian food. Used to serve free freshly baked bread and dip in olive oil and vinegar but no longer... really miss this! Noticed the cooks do not use gloves....
Tried a new pizza (Pancetta Affumicata e Funghi) today and was delicious. Sfoglia di Melanzane alla Parmigiana tasted great but could have a better presentation on cast iron bowl than on a plate. Overall, nice food and discount too!
2nd visit and pizza still superb!
Fired in a kiln with thin crust, the pizzas are flavourful and crispy. However, this also contributes to a longer waiting time.
Mushroom soup was rich and great as well.
Recommend their Carnivora and house speciale for first timers who like beef.
Warning: Remote area not very near public transport options. Also, expect waiting time for your pizzas due to the queue for firing in the kiln, get some appetizers!
$15-20/pax for simple meals
Hands down the best pumpkin soup with truffle oil ! I love the texture of the soup and how the sweetness of pumpkin completes the taste.
We also had ravioli with truffle and squid ink pasta. The taste of pasta was not as impressive as the pumpkin soup. I probably should have opted for their pizza instead !
4 stars for their attentive service and great ambience for an Italian restaurant.
Very good food with discount for 2nd item. Very courteous service staff thumbs up!
Located in Teacher's Estate in Sembawang along a row of shop houses. You probably wouldn't think of looking for a restaurant in such an obscure location. But for those who are adventurous enough, you'll be rewarded with home cooked style of Italian cuisine in a rather simple restaurant setting. The staff are friendly and attentive. Food is not bad as well, although the pasta I had was a tad too salty for my liking. Price isn't as much as a downtown restaurant, but given the location, could have been more affordable to attract customers from revisiting.
A very tasty Italian restaurant located in quite deep residential area in AMG. Follow Google map is easy to reach. Service from the staff is very responsive and friendly. Dessert of banna cotta is a must to try.
Great food and service. Worth the travel. Especially enjoy the Porshetta (tender and flavourful) and Foccacia. The tiramisu, carbonara, gnocchi and mushroom soup are good as well. Recurring customer 👍
It was empty when I was there on a weekday afternoon. Food was good. Service was fast. Staff were pleasant. Portion can be a tiny weeny bigger. Hope there was bread basket. Parking is a headache for sure.
We had the carbonara and seafood pizza. Overall the flavours were good, quality of ingredients were there and pricing was reasonable. But the carbonara had too much cream and lacked depth, and the pizza base could not hold up the ingredients well. And water is chargeable - which is fine, but my issue is that they didn't disclose this upfront
Pasta is great, ambience is great, couldn’t ask for a more authentic Italian dining experience
Tasty and not salty . A bit tough to find parking space and not convenient to walk or taking bus to reach the location
If you do want to enjoy authentic Italian pizza, this place is the best..
Had the pizza special which came with generous servings of sliced beef. Crust was perfectly done. Tiramisu had good taste, texture and balance - not too hard, not too mushy - al dente!
Not tt nice Leh... eat liao wouldn't wan to come back again... extremely ex.. 80odd for jus 3 dishes... here definitely over rated... Cheng San CC Bliss will b a better choice...
Quaint little Italian place in the heart of the neighbourhood, but the service and food is wonderful! Been coming here for years for occasions when I wanted an elevated but peaceful dining experience that wasn't too crowded. The staff are also lovely and the menu is expansive with most of the items tasting pretty great.
The wait staff are polite, know the food well and are able to provide good suggestions. The food is well prepared, tasty and the ingredients are fresh (e.g. the seafood in the pasta). The pizza dough is amazing, and we found out they use organic flour.
Amazing food at a rather hidden location. Excellent service as well.
Tried tartufo pizza, Hawaiian pizza and rucola parma pizza - very nice! Pumpkin soup is tasty!
First time coming to this place and found that it was very cosy. What surprised me right at the on start is the level of service provided at this unknown joint. They were attentive to details and the service staff will have a chat with u when possible. Would definitely recommend this place.
Been here more than 10 times and ate the same thing 10 times. Gamberi pizza! Loving it
Excellent service and good recommendations on the food and deals available.
Loved dining here. The food, ambience, and service are always top notch.
Highly recommend their pizzas and pastas. Gnocchi was amazing and delicious, pizza was made using a traditional method. Their specials are really good too.
A definite must try!
We found everything delicious. Service was prompt and attentive.
Nice food. Small portions. Steep pricing. Very noisy. Difficult to find parking. Not wheelchair accessible. Maximum 3.5 stars.
The food was anazing. Best mushroom soup ever
Good Italian food at affordable prices. We had the squid ink pasta with crab meat, the truffle cream ravioli, a margarita pizza, burata cheese with tomatoes and rocket, slow cooked eggplant with cheese and the roasted chicken. Four of us were sharing.
Everything was delicious. Chicken was a little dry. Service was fantastic as usual. One the nicer restaurants in the Tagore area.
loved everything we ate - mushroom soup, seafood pasta, parma rocket pizza and lasagna. had tiramisu and panna cotta for dessert, both were delicious.
the servers were also very welcoming and nice! had a great dinner here :)
You can tell from the no pictures on this review.
Didn’t feel excited to take out my phone and snap some pictures.
The food was okay not fantastic.
For that price I was expecting abit more in terms of the taste of their dishes.
Only thing that left an impression on me was the $1 free flow sparkling water😅
Food and service were top notch, atmosphere was great, very family friendly, can get a little noisy when it’s crowded but that’s part of the experience.
Very yummy food pasta carbonara and pizza were yummy!!
Been eating here for > 10 years and food a.s seevice is still super.
Nothing short of brilliant! Delicious oven made pizza, cosy ambience, friendly and attentive staff. Would return!
Pleasant and value for money Italian restaurant which serves one of the better food in this area. Service is top top. Location is not great, but it means no crowds to content with.
Located in an unbelievably secluded place, you wouldn’t expect the restaurant to be filled with people - but that’s exactly what you should expect when patronising this place.
When entering the restaurant, you’ll first be greeted by a strong whiff of truffle, cheese, herbs; basically a concoction of greatness.
Service was excellent, and you shouldn’t have to wait too long before the arrival of your food.
The wife and one other friend ordered a total of 2 pizzas and an appetiser, which are all unbelievably great, unlike any other pizzas I’ve tried elsewhere (though admittedly, I’m comparing it to the likes of Pizza Hut and Domino’s).
While we didn’t try any of the pastas, the experience we had over there guarantees that we’ll be back for whatever else they have on the menu.
Have been dining here regularly and the food is always delicious! The pastas and pizzas are consistently good, and the staff here are always cheerful and welcoming. The place can get crowded on weekend evenings, but other than that, it's one of the go-to places for great Italian food.
Nice fusion Italian food joint. Not really accessable to those without transport as tucked inside a private housing estate. Faces a small public park so can enjoy some quite space. Food wise besides the usual pizza, pastas, they also serve good western dishes. We had fidh of the day whuch was fresh snd excellent. Can't say thd same for the Rib-eye Arrosto which was nothing special. Expecting better pizzas but the Bacon Truffle Pizza was a dissappointment. The Fettuccine alla Carbonara was good. Overall dining atmosphere was good wigh a full size window viewing the kitchen. There is a fresh bread bakery at thr far end where you csn but freshly baked bread
Simply addicted to the pasta and pizza there! My wife and I is in a love hate relationship with this place as we are gaining a lot of weight but yet we can't resist going there again every 2 weeks. The staff is very friendly and the service is good.
Always spot on with their pizzas. Their truffle pasta is marvelous.
Must go! Great service from captain. Pizzas were delicious. Chianti Classico was good too. Great atmosphere tucked away in a residential estate. Great to be away from the malls.
Having read a few of the reviews here, I guess some people are pretty hard to please. We went for an early dinner & experienced very attentive service & superb food for the money. The carnivore pizza & the ruccola parma were some of the best pizzas I've tasted. The spaghetti bolognaise (always judge a restaurant on the simple stuff) was hearty and very tasty indeed. Desserts all sang a similar tune. The fact that their house white was as affordable as it was drinkable was a great bonus! We will definitely be going back!
Love the food here, but can get noisy later in the evening. Good for groups though. Try to go earlier as parking can be limited.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. I've been a irregular guest of this hidden gem of a restaurant for more than 5 years. Everytime I go, the food had been consistently superb. The service & staff is also impeccable. My favorites: crabmeat squid-ink linguine is the best (and always very generous portions of crabmeat), and the Quattro Formaggi pizza, and the Affogato for dessert. Highly recommended!
Pizza is the one you don’t want to miss out. Freshly baked from stone oven 👍
Pasta has variety to choose, overall good.
Temperature at the corner table at the end was a little warm. Roy’s service was personable. 👍🏻
Lagsana is soggy,
Hawaian pizza watery
Fish of the day cod is not bad
Mushroom soup is okay
Mixing up serving beef and pork.
Soso
Good Italian Food utilizingthe proper ingredients, but could be more tasting with a bit more Raffinesse. Well presented and very friendly service though.
Nice Italian food in a quiet neighborhood. Had calzone and bacon, sun-dried tomato and mushroom fettuccine. Good. Big portion. No room for desserts.
A bit off the track. Pizza range is good but edge could have been more crusty
Very fresh Burrata and love the Truffle Ravioli. Great service
Great food, good service, busy crowd!
Great Fettuccine with Bacon, Mushrooms and Dried Tomatoes
