Reviews of Lucca's Trattoria Italian Restaurant
Attentive and friendly staff, especially Rose. The team are welcoming, approachable, and genuinely interested in making the dining experience to be remembered.
Orders taken quickly, food arrived in a timely manner, and Rose was responsive when we needed assistance, without being overly intrusive.
Rose was well versed with the menu and could answer questions about the food, suggest pairings, and accommodate recommendations with confidence.
The restaurant maintains a clean environment, and the atmosphere aligns with the type of dining experience it offers, so Christmassy and super cozy.
Personalised service felt tailored to our needs, with staff providing thoughtful touches.
Kudos to Rose and the team 🥰.
We had an AMAZING meal here. It was nice and quiet when we were here. The food is very flavorful. The best linguini and clams I have ever had. The servers treat you like you are the only customer in the restaurant. You have the choice to sit inside or outside. Just a great experience all the way around.
What we had, besides these 3 dishes, were their pizza and pasta. But because it's my second time here, I did not take photos of the rest –– they are staples here that I do recommend to order to have a taste at least. The food is fantastic –– taste and how they look. The must-order is the Pistachio Lamp Chops! Service by the staff is attentive and polite, particularly Rose who was so cheerful despite their long hours!
Dinner at Lucca Trattoria in Tiong Bahru was a memorable experience. The baked threadfin special at $99 was cooked with wine and seafood, was a refreshing surprise—tender and moist with flavors that stood out in a delightful way. I hadn’t had fish prepared in this style before in Italian cuisine, and it was a pleasant change. The lemon shrimp risotto, unfortunately, was a bit too salty, which detracted from the dish.
The lamb cutlets were perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful, though the portion felt a little on the smaller side. The prosciutto pizza was a reliable choice, with well-balanced flavors—nothing extraordinary, but it certainly delivered on taste.
The ambiance was warm and inviting, with attentive service throughout the meal. Prices were on the higher end, but considering the quality of the food and the atmosphere, it felt like a worthwhile treat. All in all, it’s a great spot for Italian food lovers looking for a cozy, relaxed dining experience in Tiong Bahru.
came across Lucca's when i had been in the area in the past and decided to head over with my best friends for dinner to celebrate one of our birthdays as well as a farewell dinner ❤️
first thing's first, the ambience was lovely! the interior had been decorated for christmas and coupled with its humble and cozy atmosphere, it was a great place for intimate gatherings~
second, the service was amazing! our servers were so friendly and attentive, always having smiles on their faces and asking if we needed anything. shoutout to Rose for her excellent service, from start to end, she took great care of us!
lastly, but certainly not the least, the food was incredible! the burrata was extremely fresh and i loved the fried prosciutto. the squid ink pasta was delicious, octopus was perfectly cooked and tender. the spicy salami pizza had a perfect kick, crust tasted authentic and so so soft, perfectly charred. the tiramisu was a lovely sweet ending, one of the only tiramisus ive had in singapore where i could taste the liquor~ very tasty!
would definitely come back 😍❤️
The atmosphere was fantastic, and I loved the authentic Italian vibes of the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious—I highly recommend the pistachio pizza and the tiramisu. The service was impeccable, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. A perfect spot for anyone craving genuine Italian cuisine!
Restaurant looks just like how the restaurants look like in Italy! Wonderful ambience and the food was even better. Excellent service from Rose, the service was so fast and good :) We ordered the carbonara, burratta brushetta and prawns. Would recco all 3
First time trying our this Italian place in the neighbourhood and it did not disappoint. I love their squid ink pasta! Thanks to the accommodating staff, Rose.
A nice lovely Italian restaurant with a wine room. Came here a few times already. Good, attentive table service, especially by William and Rose on separate occasions.
Food is good, we enjoyed the salads and bruschetta. Pizza and pasta were good too. Unfortunately the prawn and crabmeat risotto was slightly too salty for me. Price is slightly on the expensive side.
In the most recent visit, I made a request to Rose for a birthday candle on a cake to surprise my sister. As we also ordered a few desserts, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful presentation of tiramisu, panettone and gelato on a cheese board, complete with a candle! Thank you so much!
We ordered the carbonara and burrata pistachio pizza. The carbonara was very flavourful but a little on the salty side. The burrata pistachio pizza was a very interesting combination of sweet and savoury. The atmosphere is great too and has very homey Italian vibes.
A pretty small and cosy Italian restaurant right at junction of Tiong Bahru Road. Very authentic and tasty Italian food and my friends and I had a great time there!
Our party of 5 adults and 1 child had the FRITTO MISTO, PISTACHIO E MORTADELLA, MARGHERITA, CACIO E PEPE, and TIRAMISU LUCCA.
Ordered OSSOBUCO ALLA MILANESE too, but they were out of Braised Veal shank (400g) and they offered to replace it with USDA Prime Ribeye (300g) instead for the same price.
Lucca’s in Robertson Quay was our favourite Italian restaurant 🇮🇹
Such a great atmosphere with great food.
The stroll through Tiong Bahru to Lucca’s new location at the Nostalgia Hotel was like bringing on a holiday in the mediterranean.
Order anything and end with the Tiramisu and you will be transported to the Mediterranean.
Good Luck Lucca’s we still love the food and the exceptional ingredients.
We had an awesome meal here. The Carbonara Guanciale had the perfect mix of cheese and crispy pork. The Pistachio Pizza with Mortadella and Burrata was fantastic and the flavors really stood out!
Rose made sure that we had a great time and provided us with great service. Everybody was friendly and approachable.
If you love good Italian food and excellent service, this place is highly recommended.
We order the lemon risotto and the seafood pasta - they were both wonderful. Perfectly cooked pasta and risotto. Very flavourful. The broccolini that comes with the steak is amazing as well. Will recommend and return!
William was our sommelier. We enjoy our time here. William made very good recommendations on the food and wine.
Love the atmosphere and vibes.
Enjoyed the Italian experience at lucca’s trattoria. First time here and I will be back for more.
Jack and rose was attentive and provides impeccable service! Will recommend to my friends and relatives. Well done guys!
Have been here multiple times and this is our favorite italian restaurant in Singapore.
We come here with family, special ocasion or whenever someone visit.
The service and food are top notch.
My kids love the pasta and dessert.
The tomahawk was beautiful.
Thank you chefs and Rose for the food and great experiece <3
A very pleasant and enjoyable dinner on a cool Friday evening. Sienna and Jack were simply awesome and hospitable in rendering their service. Dishes suggested by Sienna were excellent! Pasta and pizza were delicious! We went home with happy tummies and a bag of vintage wines from it's cellar. Thanks Jack for your recommendations of the wines!
Celebrated our anniversary here! Food is good! Especially loved the carbonara! The tiramisu is really good too! We ordered the pistachio pizza, was on the sweeter side but still got nevertheless! The staff, Rose was really sweet & helpful in recommending what’s good! My partner & I really enjoyed ourselves here!
Second visit here. Good as ever! The four cheese pizza was simply perfectly crafted with the crisp crust and yet wonderfully fragrant moist centre. Home made ravioli also good. We had both. I preferred the spinach cheese but the pumpkin was also good!
We have gone there so many times that the waitress remembers us and “our table”. Be sure to ask for the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip. Fab. The carbonara was so so but the pork pasta was good. I will stick to the squid ink pasta and homemade ravioli next time.
Mar 2022: gathering for friends farewell. Had a good dinner and had entertainer app discount!
The food was great but what impressed us was the service. Our server, Rose, was very attentive and polite. We’ll definitely comeback and recommend to others 😊
🤔 Carborana is abit salty. Seafood Pasta tasted good unfortunately they used frozen seafood and crystal prawns. Overall is fine.
I've been looking for a good Italian place while visiting here, and I'm glad to say I've found it. Lucca's is a small restaurant, but I'm sure with some reservations a larger group could come. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is tastefully decorated, a nice place for a date. I don't know that I would bring younger children here. I came on a Monday evening and it seemed I made it right before the rush. By 7-730 the place was nearly full, and for good reason. This restaurant has a nice selection of wines and beverages and the staff made good recommendations for both food and drink. I went rogue and tried an imported Irish whiskey (shankys), which I enjoyed. I paired that with the half lucca charcuterie board. The presentation was great. Good cheese and meat selection, and it's big enough for 3-4. For dinner I tried the pappardelle con il coniglio - pasta served with rabbit. Quite tasty. The borlotti beans were a nice and interesting addition to the dish. I enjoyed my experience and this place will probably make the list for another visit when I am back in Singapore.
Fantastic food and services from the restaurant. Special mentioned are their whole fish with clams and wagyu tomahawk are really delicious. Jack also recommended us one of their exclusive wine which everyone loves it. Special mentioned to one of their service crew Rose who is very friendly and helpful to our event dinner too.
Booked for a dinner with 1 friend.
Restaurant was nice & cozy with indoor and outdoor sitting. Do try to take public transport there as parking is really hard to get during peak times!
Ordered a burrata bruschetta (4 slices) , Prosciutto Pizza and a carbonara.
Food took awhile (30 mins > ) to arrive due to the Friday dinner crowd.
However it was worth the wait as the food was amazing!! The burrata bruschetta was nicely portioned into slider style pieces, generously topped with Proscuitto & Burrata cheese 🤤
The Prosucuitto pizza 🍕was wood fired and extremely savory as well. The sauce blend was tangy & slathered with good cheese & even more prosciutto. The dough of the pizza was very well made!
The Carbonara sauce was made properly & not the fake cream style that some restaurants tend to make. A *real* carbonara for sure! The only gripe was the pasta type was a little thick to be paired with such a rich sauce. It got a bit overwhelming after a couple bites. Would request for a change of pasta type if possible 👌🏻
Was way too full after the 3 dishes for any desserts but I saw other tables having their tiramisu and it looks GOOD 👀
Would definitely be back to try other dishes as I’m impressed with what I’ve has that night ♥️
Love the veal pumpkin risotto and the white pizza at Lucca’s. The grilled octopus was very tender and YUMS.
Service was excellent 💯. They decorated the choco birthday cake that my friend bought with strawberries to make it more presentable and played baby shark song for us 😆 Thank you!
Will be back!
Oct 2020
A charming eatery that transports u straight to Tuscany once you step through their doors. Food was authentically Italian, here’s what we got:
- burrata: incredibly fresh and plump, we loved the sweet tomatoes on the side and super crisp prosciutto slices
- calamari: loved how the thin umami batter didn’t separate from the seafood; speaking of which loved how there were prawns and mussels too!! The salsa added a nice tart overtone to each bite
- carne pizza: how can you go wrong with this!! Overloaded with artery-clogging goodness; Italian sausage, salami, mortadella and beef bolognese. The dough could hardly hold firm against the weight of it all. By far the highlight of our night!
- diavola pizza: a simpler, spicier and more sophisticated version of the carne.
- frutti di mare pizza: a classic seafood pizza, the pickled capers were an interesting touch
- calzone: too high bread:filling ratio. Disappointing.
- tordelli luchese: no pics but THIS WAS SO GOOD!!! Honeslty anything that comes as a little surprise bag is an A++ for me.
- spinach and ricotta ravioli: another classic!! Loved the mushroomy sauce as well.
- squid ink pasta: I liked how this came with a grilled octopus tentacle
- prawn risotto: ok only, a bit underwhelming in the face of all the other savoury dishes
All in all a great night that filled our bellies!!
We came as a group of 9 and were wowed by the homely and intimate service provided. Will be back!!
Superb Bridal Shower Dining Experience. Very kind, pretty, approachable people and staff, especially Ms. Rose who handled our dinner and wine with expertise and warmth.
Amazing food and interiors!
Service was dependent on how much you spend, if you spend more, then you probably get better service. Food was not bad but wouldn't go back again as I could get better Italian food elsewhere with a better portion, price point. Portion is relatively smaller except the pizzas which are standard.
Such a delicious Italian meal in the cosy heart of Tiong Bahru. My family and I tried out Lucca's last night and were blown away by the quality of the food! Everything was 10/10 from the pastas to the service to the decor. We strongly recommend a visit here, they were previously located at Rob Quay but we are so happy with this new addition to our neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru. Shout out to Chef Edward and Rose for the impeccable service and food!
We frequent many Italian restaurants here in Singapore but this is a new top favourite!
Honorable mentions:
-Gamberi Alla Busara (garlic tomato prawns)
- Pollo E Funghi (penne chicken pasta)
- Veal Cheek Risotto (MUST TRY!!)
- Vongole
Great food, ambience and most importantly service! Rose was so kind and accommodating especially with our 2 year old daughter. Great family friendly place and a great place to chill and take your time. Highly recommend and will be back as a regular. Grazie Rose!
We always pass by trattoria Lucca on the way home but we only tried it tonight.
Saying we enjoyed the dinner so much is an understatement. great service! great steak! great wine! great tiramisu!
Thank you Rose for helping us with the wine
We had a birthday celebration last night, staff was very friendly especially Rose, good ambience & nice food.
We are really enjoyed and will be come back again.
We had a superb time! Rose was superb, directing my wife and I to a cosy table and extremely attentive throughout our meal. Good food and wine.
The food was really excellent and I'm glad my friends decided to book this place for my birthday. The squid ink pasta and the prosciutto pizza were so good
One of our favourite neighbourhood place for pasta in Tiongbahru!
Lucca offer very nice ambience (both indoor and alfresco siftings), friendly service, reasonable pricing, and most of all yummy pasta and milkshake!
Pasta are cooked aldante here. Their burrata was nice as well as their asparagus salad which we always order. Not a big fan of their pizza but it is not bad also.
Overall, good choice for neighbourhood pasta!
Came here for our anniversary and it was amazing. The food was great we got a calzone and asparagus salad. The bottle of wine that they recommended according to our taste turned out to be amazing! Drank the whole bottle without realising.
Paid about $131 (after GST) for Valentine’s Day dinner there. Didn’t take the set they had as I wanted to try other stuffs. The soup was flavourful with great crusty bread, steak and fries had good quality and fed 2 of us. The tiramisu was rich and creamy which was just about right. The ambience inside is your typical usual Italian places with nice checkered table tops, wood furniture and lots of pizza and pasta smoke from cooking. There was this one Filipino waitress who took the wrong orders and was pretty obnoxious whenever we asked for something. I’m sure the steak was cooked medium rare although we asked for medium. She served the medium rare steak and when I told her I asked for medium, she casually turned back and said, oh its medium then. I feel that sort of flippancy is something really annoying especially if I have to pay service charge. Overall, food is good and I would come back again.
Life's too short to skip the desserts here!!
We enjoyed the seafood platter and the mushroom soup.
Kudos to Staff Rose & Jack for making our dining experience exhilarating!
Nice food and atmosphere. Rose was very friendly and attentive! Love the tiramisu and garlic bread.
It’s amazing! Very delicious! Pasta, burata ❤️ adorable
Started with culatello - meat was absolutely amazing, the Carne pizza was amazing and the flavor of the cheese was really good. The show stopper was the tiramisu! No pazzaz, just a simple tiramisu, and one of the best I’ve had.
Good food, nice ambience. But was disappointed by the standard of service this time round. We found a strand of hair under the bread which is served to us. When we pointed that out to the lady who served us, she just took it away quickly. She did not even apologise for the service lapse. This was so different from the time we visited the restaurant 6 months ago! This is disgusting and disappointing!
Ambience is good. Staff is great.
Food
1. Pizza is great
2. Bread served before meal is great. It is soft and crispy at the edge.
3. Pasta - not sure is it authentic Italian style, the pasta is a bit hard in chewing (a few similar comments from friends). Not really our favorite.
4. Water will be served but they are served after meal.
Overall food is okay except pasta which is major food for italian restaurant. Therefore giving an average review.
I had beef lasagne for dinner - it was served piping hot and tasted really delicious! 10/10 would come back for this dish. Also came on a weekday evening when there was less crowd so service was amazing. Shoutout to Rose for attending to us so well :)
Nice Italian restaurant serving authentic Al dente pasta! Good burrata, serving a tad small though. Lemoncilo tart too much gelatin and not sour enough. Overall still a nice place to warrant a revisit.
We decided to celebrate my birthday at Lucca’s, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food and service were excellent. The carbonara was a standout, with the guanciale and cheese creating an authentic taste that transported me back to Italy. We also tried the pistachio pizza, where the combination of pistachio nuts and burrata provided a perfect balance of flavors. The service was attentive and friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Lucca’s and look forward to returning for more.
As a special touch, they offered a tiramisu with a birthday candle and even gave a charming birthday card.
Super recommend the gramchio gamberi risotto, flavorful and yummy along with the dessert necci. Love the service at Lucca's trattoria, shout out to the waitress attending to us, Rose, friendly and sweet.
One of my go-to place when they were at Robertson Walk. Totally luv it, with this new setup at Tiong Bahru. As always, very warm service crew and delicious food.
I just like the atmosphere. Very light hearted friendly especially that Indian fellow. Great atmosphere with great food.
Fantastic quality of food! So authentic that it brought my wife and myself back to ours days, travelling within Italy. Keep up the good job guys!
Our family craving for Italian food and decided to dine at Lucca Trattoria. We skipped the starters and jumped into the main course. We each picked one pasta - Carbonara, Prawn Risotto, and Pappardelle con il Coniglio.
The Carbonara is cooked with guanciale, which I tried for the first time on a holiday to Italy previously and was quite surprised to see it here. I like the smoothness of the sauce and the pasta is cooked al dente. It brought back fond memories of Tuscany.
The lemon prawn risotto is flavourful and refreshing, prawns are sizeable, fresh and crunchy, risotto is slightly moist and tasty, and flavourful, highly recommended.
Pappardelle con il coniglio. A tasty pasta with rustic look and equally savoury taste to match. Love the colours, pasta, stewed rabbit meat, berlotti beans in shades of brown. Stronger taste and less the italian pasta look, but enjoyable.
The portion was more than enough for us, so ended up skipping the desserts too. Satisfied with our dinner, we call it a night, but will definitely be back for more authentic and affordable Italian food.
The ambience at Lucca's was rustic and transported me to Italy! Fresh pizza and portobello mushrooms made for a wonderful dinner. The staff were patient and friendly too, giving us space to make our decisions.
Will definitely return as we didn't have space for pasta and dessert!
Lasagna cravings satisfied 🤤
Experience made all the more better because of excellent customer service by Rose 🙏 Thank you!
Been going to this place for years before they moved to tiong bahru. Still the best vongole in town and great service! Their server Rose even remembered us after we hadn’t visited during the pandemic and remembered our order 🙂
We had a lovely dinner at Lucca's. The food was delicious, and our waiter recommended an excellent wine to pair with our meal (unfortunately, we didn't get his name!). What truly made the evening special was Rose. Despite our late arrival around 10:30 pm and the restaurant was supposed to close at 11, she patiently waited for us finish our dinner around 1130. Her service was above and beyond, and we truly appreciate it. We'll definitely be back!
spinach and ricotta ravioli was amazing. carbonara was good too. pistachio milkshake was delicious, not too sweet. great place for dinner!
I really like the squid ink pasta.. Must try.. Staff are very accomodating especially Rose.. Good job…
The vely best aglio oo o oo lio!
Lemon risotto was interesting. The zesty flavour made the dish light and easy on the palate. Wish the portion could be bigger
Excellent Italian place with great service (we did have an early dinner so the place was not too busy) and really lovely food.
We had two kids with us and they both enjoyed the food very much! The server was very observant: she noticed that my 20 months old was struggling with the table cloth, and he was getting very frustrated with the table cloth. So the server took the initiative to ask if we would like the table cloth removed. I truly appreciated her gesture.
Also, their pistachio gelato was to die for. ❤️❤️❤️
A definite revisit is needed!
A beautiful location. Rose, Randy and Jack served us and were very friendly and attentive, combined with amazing Italian food, the evening was great!
Such a nice place to celebrate a special occasion. Love the food and great service from Rose. It’s my second time visiting this place. Highly recommended
Service and vibe of place was great, wait staff were friendly and attentive. Food wise, it just was alright. Nothing to hate but nothing to love.
Burrata was bland in flavour - lacked the rich creamy fresh cheese taste. Squid in squid-ink pasta was over charred and tough. Fried shrimps and calamari lacked flavour, tomato sauce was watery and really disappointing. Tiramisu tasted one dimensional.
Absolutely loved this restaurant. Friend made the reservation because she knows i love pasta! Atmosphere was perfect, food!! amazing. Complimented by the service of Rose that made sure everything was alright, she also suggested what’s the best combi for the pastas if i’d like to add on to anything
Great dining experience at the start of 2024. We were served by Rose, who was friendly and attentive to our needs. Food was delicious - we ordered the vongole and the diavola pizza. The vongole was slightly different from what we expected - somewhat smoky, but we liked that change. The pizza was perfect. We are looking forward to returning.
Love it here! Every pasta dish was fresh and very well done, definitely recommend the squid ink pasta! Service staff was attentive and friendly too, overall good ambience :)
The food was good and the enviroment and atmosphere around was great but what made my day when dining in this restaurant was the wonderful service from William! Since it was my first time being there and i was unsure of what wines to choose, he brought me to the wine cellar to browse through the numerous options that they had in store, all the while explaining and reccomending me different wines that would pair well with the meal and more importantly pair well with my partner and I's palettes. We ending up getting the Blanc-Quet Rose which we enjoyed thoroughly!
We dined last July 16, 2023 and the food and ambiance were incredible. Rose , our server deserves special mention. She was very attentive, always on her toes and seemed to enjoy serving her customers. We will dine again in the future.
Really cozy and friendly place, attended by Rose who was very cheerful and helpful! Recommend the carbonara and calzone, one of the most authentic Italian food in Singapore! Truly enjoyed my visit here and will surely be returning for a second time !
The pasta and risotto are very delicious, and if you stay at the hotel next door, you will get an additional discount. Very nice restaurant.
the pizza is delicious, near the bus station.
Delicious food, good service, clean, hygienic and healthy
A place inspired by Lucchese food with some exceptions, the biggest disappointment was discovering that neither the owner nor the chef are Italian, the dishes taken were still good.
