Reviews of Maggiano
Quaint cafe serving great pasta and pizza. Inside East Village beside the Hao supermarket. Recommend the Calzone folded pizza, Linguine pasta with beef tenderloin, Squid ink pasta and Carbonara.
Remember to reserve for bigger groups as the tables are limited.
Very good italian food with a nice small cozy italian seating area.
The pizzas and pasta are amazing. Quite comparable in quality to those you can find in town in terms of taste and texture.
Really lovely and cute place! Pasta is fresh pasta and so it’s a lovely texture. Really enjoyed the pumpkin soup and the salad as well. Will definitely recommend - support this lovely Italian place in the east!!
Italian food has always been one of my favourite cuisine, especially pasta and Tiramisu. So glad to find one newly opened Italian restaurant in the East Region of Singapore, located at East Village #01-45. The restaurant is named Maggiano. The pasta is handmade and freshly made daily. We ordered their signature pasta Cannelloni (with prawns, mushroom and mozzarella cheese), it's very good and something special which I have never tried before in other restaurants. We tried the Gamberi pizza, fresh ingredients and the pizza crust is excellent! The Tiramisu sweetness is just right but it will be better if the alcohol taste is slightly stronger. Cozy ambience and the chef is very friendly. Good service, affordable price, great food!!!
Nice quiet ambience, staff very feiendly. Food is excellent. We ordered carbonara pasta, prosciutto pizza, mushroom soup & garlic bread. Kids love them all.
Came by this really cozy Italian restaurant by accident when I was walking around East Village. I felt really drawn to enter the place as it looked so homely and peaceful. As soon as I entered, I felt that I definitely made the right decision as there was a sense of comfort to this restaurant. The ambiance was beautiful, yet simple. The cute Italian music and pictures around the restaurant definitely helped with it.
I ordered the mushroom risotto and I was impressed with the presentation of the food. The aroma of the risotto hit me first followed by the beautiful texture and sight. At first bite, the sauce was rich and creamy, the type of consistency that I love for my risotto. The onions in the risotto gave it a little sweetness and you could taste the richness of the broth as well. The mushrooms were so tender and soft, yet the texture reminds. The parsley garnishing brought out the flavour of the mushroom and the creamy sauce. The only feedback that I could give was that the orzo could have been done a little more to make it al dente. It was still a little on the hard side. It would also do really well with some pine nuts or even some almond crumbs to add in some crunch to the risotto.
To end of the meal, I had to get the panna cotta. The panna cotta was firm, not too sweet yet rich with the milky creamy flavour. Depending on your preference, some people may prefer it to be less firm and more pudding like texture. But the firm still works well for me.
Overall, had a really nice and peaceful experience in this little restaurant. The chef was really friendly too
The Bismarck pizza was delicious. The calamari was fresh and tasty. Carbonara was creamy.
Small and cozy place to be.
Food are fantastic!
Chef is friendly and even came up to ask if pasta ready to be serve.
Definitely coming back again..
👍👍
A great little Italian eatery hidden away in a non-descript shopping centre. The restaurant is small, but clean and tidy, with most tables accommodating 2 or 4. We had a party of 6 and staff were able to combine tables in advance to enable us to sit together.
Our group included a vegetarian and the menu was clearly layed out and identified vegetarian options. We had pasta (spaghetti carbonara) and pizza (Parma) and both dishes were hot and very tasty, even if the pasta dish strayed from a traditional Italian carbonara recipe.
Staff were helpful and attentive, and although we were the last diners to leave for the night we weren't rushed out or made to feel hurried.
I'd recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for tasty Italian fare in the Bedok area.
Was initially skeptical, but absolutely blown away but the quality, heart & passion poured into each plate from this small unassuming store. Definitely reccomended and will return!
Just had delicious lunch here in this quaint Italian place. Very small place but the food we had was excellent. OMO so expecting service to be slow, but it was actually very fast. Highly recommend to come. There are closed on Tuesdays though.
I loved this cosy lil place. Personalised service, chef was kind enough to customise vegetarian pasta for me. Kids loved their pizza. I was amazed seeing the freshness of food.. great place for vegetarians. Tiramisu is must try.
Best carbonara I’ve ever eaten.
Very cozy place and nice music! The food was quite nice too. Came here on a Friday night and there was no one. Good place to come if you don't like crowds
cosy Italian place in the east with really hearty food. highly recommended!
Was skeptical about it initially as it was an unassuming restaurant tucked near the corner of the mall. Decided to try as my boy wanted pizza. Order was fuss free and the service crew greeted and treated us warmly. Food came fast and to our surprise, it was very tasty and the portion was pretty good for 2 adults and 1 toddler. Pricing was on the high side but worth it imo. Will visit again for sure.
Patronised Maggiano on a Wednesday night and the restaurant had a steady stream of customers despite being tucked in the corner of East Village mall.
I had ordered the Diavola and Hawaiian pizzas to share and both were absolutely delicious. It was so good that I had forgotten to take pictures! The chilli on the Diavola pizza was such a unique and smart touch, which made it my family’s favourite dish of the night.
I’m excited to be back to try their other menu items soon!
Risotto and carbonara are fantastic. The pizza not so much. Latte not to my taste.
Pizza with fresh ingredients, crispy crust, simply comfort Italian food!
Cozy hole in the wall dining experience, the carbonara was creamy and smooth.
This place has a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. 2 of us ordered the lasagna set lunch, ravioli and Bismark pizza to share. Everything was good and the highlight was the pizza fresh out of the oven. The portion was more than enough as we had to bring back out leftover pizza. Definitely will come again when we want a nice place to dine and relax.
Cute little Italian restaurant tucked away in East village. Lasagne was good!
Its a small but cosy restaruant. Food was worth waiting for & cooked individually.
Very good. Great service. The pasta sauces were delicious. We ordered Cannelloni, Risotto and Ravioli. Ravioli sauce was yummy. Risotto was alright (felt that both the risotto and ravioli could have been cooked a little more as they felt a little stiff/hard) but the ravioli sauce made up for it. Cannelloni was my favourite. Texture of pasta is just right and the sauce was very good too! Will côme back again!
Homemade mushroom soup is very delicious. I am glad chef made it healthy with less salt. Carbonara pasta is also handmade, amazing, with creamy sauce and cooked to perfection. Tiramisu and panna cotta are freshly made, very good. Pleasant dining experience with a humble chef.
amazing hidden find at east village. try their granchio, pasta con carne, and diavola. thank me later.
the staff are super friendly, and the inside is super charming and cozy.
bonus: it's open during cny!
Prosciutto pizza is really lovely but is a bit too salty. Generous serving. Tasted better when it is warm. Truffle fries was average.
Superb food at east. Seriously a gem . Very very good and authentic food
Delicious Italian food with nice traditional Italian music
Finally a good Italian pizza at a reasonable price! Been there twice in 2 days for the pizza. Will try the rest of the menu next time round. Easy parking.
Ordered the set meal and got the tomato soup and lasagne. Really enjoyed both dishes, especially the tomato sauce for the lasagne was very tasty. Highly recommended!!
No problem getting a table on Saturday afternoon.
Ordered Prosciutto pizza, Bolognese penne, Prawn pasta & Alio Olio. All were very good 👍
This is a one man operation so it is as close to the italian hole-in-wall eateries as it gets. Food was made to order. The margherita pizza is similiar to the classic napoletana as much as the local context permits.
Delicious food. Tried veg spaghetti and veg pizza. Freshly prepared, outstanding authentic taste, and service with a smile. Must visit.
Tucked away in a nice corner of East Village, we are served with delicious pizza and pasta. The ambience is relaxing and soothing. Will definetely re visit :)
Small place, but the quality of the food is quite impressive. Don't let looks deceive you. Can 100% recommend.
Great pizza and has a very nice ambience with a real Italian feel . Having the godfather music in the background was a nice touch . Will be coming back .
Food is great. Serving size is reasonable like most restaurent. Serving size could have been bigger. Will come back if im craving for arrabiata
Happy to discover this new gem in my neighborhood. Set lunches is a great value and the portions is done right. Would be back here often I guess.
Its cozy here...foods are fantastic! Highly recommended..Very good Italian restaurant....
Extremely excellent. Both meal and service are superb. Thank you so much Chef Perera and assistant.
