Reviews of Mustard Seed
Been fortunate enough to eat here several times, and I will definitely keep coming back. I would give Mustard Seed 11 stars out of 5 if I could - from the first meal at Chef Ming's home private dining a few years ago, every meal has been exceptional. I'm constantly astounded by not only the constantly creative dishes that Ming and Shin churn out, but also by their execution. Seems impossible for every dish to be delicious, but they have really been.
Service is impeccable and warm, like eating at a friend's place (if your friend is insanely talented). For me, hands down best restaurant in Singapore.
Don't mess with comfort food/local dishes because people will always compare it with their best memories of those dishes. Mustard Seed stay true to the Singaporean taste buds, and elevates those flavours to create happy surprises at every turn. Excellent and very enjoyable.
Ask for the drinks pairing, especially their sake selection. Book 3 months in advance. Menu refreshed about every two months. Limited parking and not accessible by public transport. Credit cards not accepted.
I have been here a few times and food is always amazing. Getting a reservation is challenging but well worth it
The dishes are very flavourful, but some are too salty. Especially the second dish. We had so much water throughout the dinner.
Deserving of a Michelin star. Inventive and delicious take of local favourites
Loved it! Very creative menu utilising local ingredients. Portion wise very filling and service was good. Anything with rempah and seafood is a win. Would recommend and come back.
Many surprises from Mustard Seed - a good mix of different types of seafood and meat dishes, preparation methods, and taste. I like them in soup, salad, curry etc. styles. The dessert 'Rice' was also very creative. Never thought I would choose beer to go with the food and it was a wonderful choice! Setting is cozy, non-pretentious, I felt at home towards the end. Attentive service, couldn't ask for more! Will be back for sure.
Been twice. First for a private party and the second for the yong tau fu-inspired menu. Inspired, delicious Singaporean food both times. Good drinks menu and nice deal with the 1-for-1 corkage. Love the cosy space. If anything, felt that the infusion of Japanese techniques was a bit more interesting than the excess of Japanese ingredients. Overall, one of my favourite restaurants in the country right now.
If you are looking for a communal private dining place, I will highly recommend you to give Mustard Seed a try.
Privileged to secure a spot in this highly anticipated opening of the Mustard Seed. Getting a reservation is incredibly difficult but definitely well worth it!! food here is both beautiful visually and in taste.
Heartfelt meals by a chef who really cares about his food.
