Reviews of Myung Ga (명가) II
Still as good after all these years. We had the standard affair - ginseng chicken soup, Kimchi pancake, veggie gimbab and naengmyeon in soup. Everything was delicious, healthy and not too heavy. I especially love the refreshing naengmyeon with its thinly sliced pickled radish and the power packed gimbab. The ginseng chicken soup was also tastefully rich without overly seasoned or salty. The chicken meat basically slides off the bones and melt in your mouth.
Just one small personal preference, wish the Kimchi pancake could have more crunches and bites of kimchi when I bite into it instead of the soft dough.
Definitely still a go to for a homely Korean food cravings in the west.
This has got to be my favourite Korean restaurant ever! 😍 The food is tasty and they are very generous with their portions! Their service staffs are warm and friendly and they make you feel at home every time you dine there.
I’ve been here many times and not once was i ever disappointed with the food quality.
Definitely a must try!
I’d especially recommend the branch exclusive, Korean Fried Chicken at the Bukit Timah branch. Its crispy on the outside and fresh and juicy on the inside. Its the perfect fix for any fried chicken cravings
It was my first visit and I am not disappointed. Food is very good and staff and the lady boss is very courteous and friendly. The seats outside is spacious and good for gathering s. The side dish is also very good. I will definitely recommend this pace to my friends and family. The spicy pork and squid is a must try dish and for those who love ramen, can try the kimchi ramen. The soya friend chicken is also another must try dish when you visit
My go-to place for authentic Korean food. Service is exceptional and the food is delicious. Reasonably priced. You're offered free side dishes and a bottle of tea from the moment you're seated, as well as a packet of tissues. Been here multiple times and would definitely return again!
Very good value for money and tasty Korean food. The nangmyeon has the right amount of tang and flavour, the pork chop, which seems to be their signature dish, is unique and delicious. The meat is crispy on the outside and the sauce goes well with the rice and pork. The queue can get pretty long because the stall is so small and it can be pretty warm inside. But it's worth it for the price of the dishes!
My go to place when I crave for simple home cooked style korean food.
Portion is always generous and good value for the bucks.
The pancake is a must order every visit and it has never fails to amaze guests that I bring.
Never dine alone here, come in a big group so you can order more dishes. Need alot of stomach space whenever I dine here.
Seafood pancake, spicy noodles were very good. Lotsa ingredients and service by lady owner was awesome. Free flow banchan and complimentary gim bab. Highly recommended
I've been here on multiple occasions and always wanted to leave a review. The food here is so good and I always think about coming back. I especially love the tteokbokki!!
A small korean eatery with polite wait staff. The food was generally good and the portion was huge. A bit on the pricey side but i guess its because the food tasted authentic. The side dishes, except the egg, can be refilled.
The kalguksu was really thick and creamy as according to the waitress, its made of buckwheat flour. Tasted a bit like miso or fish roe. Not bad but because the mall wasnt very cooling, it made me perspire.
The seafood tofu soup was not bad too but also felt a bit sian after eating for a while.
Good authentic quality Korean food, they have both indoor and outdoor seating. This place has gotten more popular over time and there is usually a queue and a slight wait during dinner time. The inside seats are quite stuffy due to poor ventilation. Staff were good and prompt in their service. Overall, great choice if you’re craving Korean in this mall!
Very homey vibes with the food and the atmosphere. Portions are humongous and prices match ~$15 a dish average that will be sure to fill your tummy. Usually there will be a crowd but covid a bit lesser, still have people.
My go to place for Korean seafood pancake! Their spicy cold noodles and jjamppong are really good too! Portions are big so we usually order 2 dishes for 3 pax (or 3 dishes for 4 pax).
They don't take reservations so you have to go there to queue. Queue can get pretty long on weekends, so be prepared. If you want less queue, try coming on a weekday lunch or dinner (do note that they close on Mon!)
I’m a regular here and the food tastes hearty
as always. My fav is the bossam!!! Soso tender and juicy (comes with a lot of lettuce) we couldn’t finish😭
The chicken slapped so hard.. It was so crispy (The soysauce one) 10/10 rly recommend to share
NaengMyeon: so refreshing omg.. It was icey but again such a big portion we couldn’t finish😭
Boss gave us free drinks with a big smile to end the meal! very filling meal, will come back!!!!
Thank you so much for the service as always
The food was very nice n my personal fav was the cold buckwheat noodles. The fried chicken was rlly crispy n defo worth giving a try. The staff were also really nice and friendly.
First time in this Korean Restaurant and fall in love with their food. Interior of the restaurant make me feel like I’m in Korea. the small dishes or appetizers are very tasty and they will refill for you when you request. Will come back again for other dishes👍🏼😋
Cosy and homely establishment. The food is great. Not your Michelin grade food but homely korean comfort food. Ordered the kimchi pancake and squid & pork set. The portions are HUGE. Like they were feeding giants! The appetisers were delightful and generous too.
Would definitely return for other dishes. The only downside of this eatery is the poor ventilation in the shop. But the food makes up for it for sure. Choose at the area near the escalator instead.
best korean food ive had in sg by far
A little pricey at first look but the ingredient serving is extremely generous so I think that’s why there’s always a queue.
Taste wise is okay. Their jjamppong uses chilli padi to enhance the spiciness which I thought was strange in a Korean dish. The noodles in it is also much thicker than other jjamppong I have tried.
Not very generous with side dishes for a restaurant.
They also offer a variety of different dishes apart from the typical Korean dishes which was good to try.
Crave for korean? Want to have a taste to korean? Miss going back?
Probably the real Authentic taste to Soya sauce pork.
For those who know will not be unfamiliar with Chap Chae.
Introducing ginseng chicken soup with sticky rice.
Last but not least, draft makkoli is mandate for your taste bud mesmerise the whole experience.
Pretty popular place. Quite good variety of authentic food. Sundubu and seafood soup are good. Bulgogi is okay. Makgeolli is 18 sgd. Panchan comes in 4 dishes. Level B1 of bukit timah plaza. Long queue, come before meal hour. Very few seating but serves quite fast. Have baby seats.
love going to myungga. food and service are impeccable. their kimbaps are my all time favourite. my go to place for comfort food :) vicky is always so warm and friendly :)
Had dinner on a Saturday evening and had to wait about 30min before being seated. This restaurant seems popular in a relatively quiet mall, and it's understandable why. Service is quick and the food reminded me of home cooked meals by my mother, if mum was a Korean and had opened a restaurant.
Tried the Ginseng Chicken and signature Pork Cutlet. Both were decent, nothing to write home about though.
Overall quite good quality of Korean foods, and friendly staffs. Pork cutlet is one of my goto, and apparently fish roe stew is also good, especially with soju.
Its a small place and you definitely have to queue as they’re quite popular. Food were served very quickly. It’s not too bad. The dishes below came up to about $50 for 2 pax.
Best-tasting and best-priced Korean food in Singapore! Highly recommend the 왕돈까스 (wang donkatsu) and the 물냉면 (cold buckwheat noodles) - the portions are huge, so best to share between a few people.
Ordered the soy bean paste stew. Forgot to take a nice picture but it was so tasty that I finished all the soup. The beef is very tender with a lot of flavor.
The bossam is to die for. Meat is super tender and flavourful. Pancake is abit on the starchy end. Very delicious octopus rice bowl.
Comforting Korean food
Friendly lady boss is a bonus :)
If I cont dinning here, I will probably have the lady boss complextion !
Friendly staff and shop owner - such an exceptional service as they welcome you to their restaurant and very attentive when you ask for their food recommendations. Food are delicious - ordered beef bulgogi, kimchi pancake.
The food and atmosphere was great!! I would recommend seafood pancake, cold noodles, seafood stew and also their kimbap~ all was soo mashisoyo!! There were koreans dinning there as well i mean that shows how good and authentic are the food are right 🥰 the lady boss was soo generous and friendly too, you feel welcomed 😊Would definitely come back here to eat with my family n friends 😍😍
This is a hidden gem that never fails to impress.
One standout aspect of our dining adventure was the exceptional quality of the stews. Bursting with bold flavors and simmered to perfection, be sure to try the Yukgaejang and soul-soothing Kimchi Soft Tofu Stew! We can't wait to try the fried chicken next!
Ah, the kimchi! The perfect balance of spiciness and tanginess danced on our taste buds. And be sure to order the kimbaps - you won't be disappointed.
Equally impressive was the impeccable service we received. The staff exuded warmth and friendliness throughout our dining period.
Had the army stew. Like the eggs n kimchi.
Special shout out to the staff, Jin Bi. She is so cheerful and attentive n polite.
The best Korean food that I've tried a month before and this time I brought my friends along! They LOVE IT. Usually they're closed on Monday but this time they're open! As usual the shop is very busy but their service is always 5 ⭐. You don't have to worry about languages or anything whenever you're ordering the food! The food is best best best as always! I forgot to snap pictures of the food just now just because we was very hungry! Once the food is here,we fight for it on the spot haha. Such a helpful staff even though the shop is very busy. Most of the staffs are Chinese but there's also one of the indian girl. She can speak Chinese and English as well! So don't have to worry regarding the languages as I said before! Saw a review regarding the girl! I agree to the person who wrote the review to the young indian girl because literally all of us like her service today haha. She was walking to us every 5 minutes to check whether we need anything especially the side dishes and etc. Keep it up girls! Will visit again!!!! The best Korean restaurant! Will introduce to my friendssssss!
We came here because we heard the nammyeon was good. We weren't disappointed, it was better than most nammyeon I tried. We also ordered fried chicken, chicken soup, tofu stew, seafood pancake, ramyeon teotbokki.
Seafood pancake was also better than most places. The portion were very generous.
Most of all, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Their friendliness made it an enjoyable dinner experience.
3 stars for atmosphere because we sat inside and the smoke from the kitchen made my eyes tear (not a deal breaker). The food and service made the tears worth it
Food portion was great and food was generally tasty. We ordered the donkatsu, jajjangmyeon, naengmyeon and hotplate pork. Agree with other reviews that the indoor ventilation was really terrible as our eyes started stinging, tearing and hurting. Couldn’t last more than 30 mins sitting inside and ended up packing the half eaten meal for takeaway. Could visibly see other patrons feeling uncomfortable as well. Feedback to the staff and they said that the building management is too old and not doing any renovations… good food but might only do takeaway next time.
Food took a while to be served during dinner peak. But I feel that the food (and atmosphere) was much better at myung ga 3 at beauty world center.
Ordered the beef kimchi ramen $13 (soup was pretty bland) and ginseng chicken $22 (way too peppery and bland at the same time) (no gst but 10% svc, tho overall I feel its not worth the price)
4 banchan - omelette (no refill), seaweed, anchovies, kimchi.
Didn't know there was an alternate sitting area outside - choose that if u go, as the inside sitting area was hot and stuffy and the spices/chili from the kitchen made our eyes water and was very uncomfortable, couldn't wait to eat and get out.
Saw other tables wiping their eyes and also someone from the kitchen coming out to air their eyes lol.
Service was good and attentive.
Not too bad. Food ok.
Staff is friendly and very oriented.
Love this Korean restaurant - their cold broth noodles is one of the best in singapore along with their ever popular gimbap (limited quantity so better order it fast) and bibimbap
Ordered the seafood pancake and seafood soup that comes with a bowl of rice.
The soup is delish and with fresh ingredients.
It's really spicy for me. A lot of onions too
Oh my god, not my first time here but the ventilation sucks to the core, sit outside pls. The kimbap n jjm was good. Kimchi stew was chilli padi soup, i dont rmb any kimchi stew hving soo many small pieces of chili padi inside. I just had to return it before my stomach hurts, the server was nice enough to assist in this. This explains the stars for each category.
Food tasted good and authentic. Not cheap but portions were quite big. We had the octopus rice (delicious and octopus was tender), seafood pancake (tasty but could have been more crispy), cheese tteokbokki (good but ordinary). Banchan was good.
Good: food is nice and authentic, you can find some dishes which are usually not sold in Korean restaurants. Cold noodle is really nice.
Bad: environment is just so-so, tables are a bit oily and sticky, sometimes need to queue for long time.
But overall, the food is really nice!
The price for the food is unusually lower than most Korean restaurants in Singapore.
The serving portion is generous. Be early or you will need to spend time to queue. Umm.. the owner of the restaurant will like my reviews.
Generous portion, side dishes are good. May have to wait a while for seats.
I have been to this place many times and it served real authentic Korean food. The down side is the side dishes on have four types. Look like the lunch price is better deal. And the staffs they are fantastic. Highly recommend.
Food is awesome! It would have been 5 stars if only they managed to stay consistent. On days where the manager/boss is not around, the food quality really takes a dip. Cold noodles that aren't cold and do not have a morsel of ice.... Or pancakes that aren't crispy enough and break easily. Without the boss to QC, they are sometimes quite lackadaisical. However, it must be said that they were very eager to rectify the noodles for me, and brought out a large bowl of ice in stock to make up for it! Will still frequent.
been eating here for 5 years!! love the food and love the service! only complaint is the price, but ill overlook it for the food 🤧 buchu jeon alw my fav and the donkatsu is p value for money too, but the jjajang and tofu stew was abit bland imo !!
One of the most authentic Korean restaurant in the West
best place for korean food.
bibimbap and soy garlic fried chicken very nice
I am repeat customer bc it's so good
Size is worth the price. Delish
It's located at B1-55. Great Doenjang-jjigae stew and pork cutlet
A casual restaurant run by a korean lady. Food is authentic and nice. Love the gimbap, soups and dumplings.
Got the seafood ramen for $10.90 (before 10% service charge). Taste is not bad but bit pricey imo. Seems to be staffed by PRC so not sure how authentic that is.
Large portion. Mediocre taste. Hotplate beef was quite hard to chew. Katsu was bland. Good service
Seriously good! Excellent food, friendly & helpful staff and boss, and very filling omg.
Good authentic Korean food servings are quite plentiful therefore worth the price.
must try ginseng chicken soup and seafood pancake, huge portions
Good food and friendly boss and staffs. Will return.
Reasonably priced delicious Authentic Korean food. Big portion. Love the kimchi jiggae
v nice food :-)
The service is excellent, the food is good. Owner is delightfully generous and helpful.
Authentic and tasty. Very good service. The only shortcoming is the place is small, crowded and hot.
Good quality korean food, large portion that could be shared among 2.
always love the food here. Big portion and friendly staffs.
Food portion is good, affordable and tastes great
Nice food but lacks proper ventilation.
Nice food🤗
I went there for the first time with my family and it is the best Korean restaurant in Singapore. The lady boss is very pretty and kind, the service is generous, and most of all, be sure to try the soy sauce garlic chicken. I took the picture while I was eating, but the portion was plentiful and it was really, really delicious. I will visit again next time👍😄
Bossam, chicken, cold noodles, and squid rice bowl. All the menu items were delicious, and all the side dishes were really generous and delicious🥺.. It was the most delicious food I had in Singapore and I want to go again!!!
I visited because the old-fashioned pork cutlet was famous. The pork cutlet tasted exactly as I expected, and the other dishes were also good. The store was a bit small and the facilities were old, so the tables and menus felt a little sticky and dirty. Sometimes, I think it's worth going when I think of old-fashioned pork cutlet. It's worth going at least once😊
6 years in Singapore, this was the most delicious Korean restaurant I've ever eaten.
The food prices are slightly higher than other local Korean restaurants, but the taste is much better. I will visit again and try other menu items.
I went there because I heard the pork cutlet was delicious. It was a really big pork cutlet and the sauce was so delicious that it reminded me of the Korean-style pork cutlet I used to eat as a child.
The cold ginseng was cheaper than other places, and the Iberico pork had a different flavor to the pork belly, which was nice.
The fried fish cake served as a service is also a real treat. It's surprising that you don't take money.
I recommend it when you crave Korean food in Singapore. Singapore was fun and good~~!!
This time, I went on a trip with my sons and wanted to eat Korean food, so I stopped by and it was delicious. It's a foreign country, so it's not as good as Korea, but it's really good to see this level of quality in other countries. I'm planning to go again in the summer, and I'll stop by then too. I had a good time.
A famous Korean food restaurant in Singapore. It's tastier than the Korean food you eat in Korea.
-After my recent visit in 2023, the taste of the seafood jjamppong I always ordered has changed. The deep flavor is gone and the seasoning taste is strong. At this rate, it's too much to go just for the pork cutlet... I don't think I'll be visiting again in the future.
Even after ten years, the owner is always kind and warm. This is the place to go when you crave Korean pork cutlet and kimbap.
I ate pork cutlet and jjambbong, but since it wasn't made by Koreans, it tasted okay but not delicious.
